When we came up with the name for the character, there were no other "Chucks" out there; it felt like an everyman name and Chuck is an everyman and that kind of character is ubiquitious in the culture now so that's reflective of that and probably why you're seeing a lot of "Chucks." Plus, it's got a good hard "C" and "K" in there, which is funny, and I'm a fan of the writer Chuck Klosterman.
I think the name chuck makes him more likeable. It makes him seem like a ordinary guy not sauve or sofisticated or rich. It's a name of the boy next door.

Brilliant Name... it's also an onomatopoeia ( like 'pow', 'whack', 'click') which is cool.
ps - In Brazil, "Chuck" is the same word they use for the sound a shutter makes ("click"). It was really ackward for me to introduce myself there.

Seriously "Chuck" has replaced heroes as my favorite show on television. I love this entire series, and i can't believe i didn't watch it before. I connect strongly with the character (IT geek). And Chuck is just a fantastic name for both the show and the main character. Keep up the good work.
