I shared this on facewack and will post it here too.

It's a recipe for insanely awesome toffee puff corn that I grew up having during the holidays.
Several years ago P*nky and I were talking about it cuz she experienced it in Chicago.

I have renamed it

.
.
"Gimme Crack Corn"

.
Insanely good stuff!!!!
.
In a large sauce pan:
.
1 C butter
1 C brown sugar
1/2 C Dark corn syrup (you can use light if you want, no biggie)
.
Simmer this for 5 minutes
Remove from the heat and add
.
1 tsp Baking Soda
1 tsp Butter
.
Pour over 2 1/2 bags of puffed hull-less puffcorn and stir to cover
.
Toss it on a baking sheet or 2 (imagine you want to keep it kernals moreso than a big blob)
Bake 1 hour at 225 degrees
Stir every 15 minutes
and also stir while cooling after.

May as well buy 5 bags and plan on making another batch. HA!HA!HA!

Facebookers are trying to figure out if they have puff corn in their area. I think it is pretty nationwide but ya never know. It's like Cheese curls shaped like popcorn sans the cheese but salty. Melts in your mouth.

She goes for her PET Scan today Monday 11/16/09 at 4:15 EST. We have to be there at 3:45 because they are going to inject her with that radioactive serum???, But she can't be around anyone for 1 1/2 hours. Then my sister and I will go on Wed. 11/18 to get the results of that. I'm trying to stay positive with this trust me I am, but we will not know the extent of the Cancer until after the PET Scan. Then the Doctors will decide what they are going to do, Chemo or radiation. Shes really not a candidate for another surgery, because of her breathing and oxygen being so low its running around 87-90 and thats on 3 litres of oxygen.

I'm sure once we know the results and know where everything stands and what course of action shes gonna be doing, we will feel better. Thank you Dee and Jeannie for telling me that Positive Thinking is the best medicine, I know that, well I keep telling myself that. But I'm still in the state of shock, seeing that she just had major back surgery in May and it was not caught??? She goes for bloodwork every 6-8 weeks which includes a CBC why didn't it show up in her blood??? I just have so many questions and I will get them. I just wanted to thank you guys for your well wishes. Thank you again.

BedBug/Robin: Thats great news on the 15 pounds, my husband has Diabetes he was diagnosed in 1994, he bounced up and down with his weight, as I became pregnant 3 times, he thought he was also pregnant and ate with me, LOL, but now I'm so jealous, he keeps his weight very steady for the past 4 years, he has about 25-30 pounds to go yet, hes having a hard time getting that off, I think he needs to walk, LOL. But a Diabetic Diet is very good & Healthy. Are you on any meds?? My husbands on 4 but what helped him loose the weight was the Byetta Shot, ask your Doctor and maybe the weight will melt off you, hey its worth a try, it really helped John.

Robin. The puffcorn around here is from Old Dutch and Cheetos makes some too in flavors. It's pretty much cheese curls/cheetos/doodles in popcorn shapes without the cheese flavor, though it also comes in flavors like cheese.
I never thought about popcorn and diverticulitis but of course that would be bad. Bummer.
I wonder if he could eat "Wheat nuts". Man I used to love those things. Would maybe be a crunchy substitute for him, or corn chips?

I'm relieved to find it missing posts happened to everyone not just me

Ear bondage is a strange thing. i pulled my hair back put it in low pony. and noticed my poor ears were tied back like little common criminals, wanting to pop out but restrained. somehow it just feels wrong.

Well i must say i feel sad at this blog lately. Few blogs. page slow loading, disappearing posts. and continuous asking for new page just to get page to load properly. Colony peeps leaving because of that and feels like no one cares. Ive offered to help in any way i can to keep it going here.

Im not one to complain without offering a solution. Perhaps we need to create a colony blog, where members can take turns posting a blog for the colony. i would love to wake up daily and hear a colony members thoughts.
Just a thought. what do i know. Im fricken delirius.

Last night i thought i should go see meteor shower and i drag my flu infested body out to darkest part of yard. The dogs bark and i see this white stripe running toward me. i ran into the house. thinking i had evaded the skunk, but as the dogs ran in the other door i discovered they had not evaded the skunk. by the time i got the dogs out, me and the house smelled. so i sat with my ozonator to de-stink me and my house, getting headache from ozonator but preferable to the smell. did i mention i burnt out my nostrils putting vicks on them. Oh ya and that was the good part of my weekend. and how are you all doing???

Dee {{HUGS}}(from a distance) I can relate to your skunk issue, my kitty didn't have sense enough to keep distance and got sprayed, we had to give him a special bath to neutralize the odor, but of course by then the damage is done the house was permeated with skunk smell and your nostrils just want to crawl up inside your head to escape peeeeeyuuuuuu
I have a small (or not) problem that you might have suggestions for
my right heel has been hurting for 2 weeks and I suspect my achilles tendon of tendonitis, is there some holistic way to treat it besides cold/heat packs and just keeping wt off it?
and why does it take so long for the colony to upload? it didn't used to take so long when we had more posts than now on it

Nancy. The first thought i have is that you could have calcium build up. That is common cause of your pain. For tendonitis or bursitis it is good to take a good amino complex. It helps to heal tendons and tissues and so much more.

I have a great recipe for a plaster that will help. nice and simple. Cover the soles of your feet with a thick layer of petroleum jelly. Crush several cloves of Garlic and wrap in one or two layers of cotton. leave on overnight. This effectively treats pneumonia, as well as tendonitis and bursitis.

That is straight from Michael Tierra's book, a renowned herbalist. honest not trying to make you smell like me. LOL.

I feel guilty for having so much joy on a day that should be solemn. Bless Richard today, and ANT, too, for the pain that remembering brings. I hope he knows how much we love him and that he is never really alone.
I can't help but feel that Richard might have had a small hand in my joy. I know he wants ANT to be happy, and he wants us to be able to be with ANT whenever possible so we can show him our love and let him know he's not alone.
Well, I popped over to the other web site and noticed that ANT is going to be in Erie, Pa., on Dec. 4, and that is sooooooo do-able for me! Just a couple hours drive from here. I immediately called the place to get tickets, and of course they didn't have any information yet. And then I called Mr. BedBug to make sure he'd take the next day off work so we could stay out late for the drive home. And then I called both daughters to see if they (and my son-in-law) can come. I am so excited and so looking forward to another one of ANT's precious hugs!
A big ol' snowstorm is the only thing that would screw this up, so it's time to make peace offerings to Mother Nature.

ERIN...my boys are good. Kinder kid is a smarty pants and amazing me every day. My 3 year old is a handful and a riot....makes me laugh constantly. All is well with us. Awaiting clearance to take 3 year old to allergist. Trying to figure out why he is thrown into respiratory distress whenever he gets a cold.
