Kristen- Nice to see you out and about.
There is no such thing as a blog hog here...post as much and as often as you desire. It's my fault for not updating the page so you all don't have to scroll through 300 messages just to post. I will try and be better about it. Healing myself.

Hi Kristen. Congrats on #1.
I have to confess that I'm not here as often as I'd like mainly because sometimes I just can't find the time. By the time I do the housework that needs doing and then the yard work, run errands, take the pooch for a walk,etc (you get the idea) my time if limited to being on the blog. By the time I do get around to being here it's hard to catch up with what is going on with everyone, even though I do try to keep up. I will try harder to be here more.
Hi Dawn. I just missed you.
ANT...hope you're doing ok.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY ALI. I HOPE YOU HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY TOMORROW!!!!!! LOVE TO YOU.
It's ok ANT. You're human and you have a life outside of the blog. You've gone through a lot and you need time to heal. It's ok. :)
We're here anytime. ♥
I didn't even notice there was a new page, I just kept refreshing
I'm watching the biggest loser and listening to music
Hello Colony,
.
Just dropping by to wish everyone a great week and hope all is well with everybody.

Big {{{Hugs}}} Always!
Hi Pam. Good to see you &hearts
GoodNight Everyone. Sleep well.
ANT- Thank you so much for commenting that I do know you see what we are saying. You are great and look after yourself first.
.
TERI- I'll do my SYTYCD- Canada soon. It was nice to see Benji, Dan Carity, Karen Cain too.
another night of worry. so glad i have this place to come to. Being the parent of a son who is dealing with meth addiction, I have learned to numb myself to the fear. an upset call, a breakup and no longer returning calls.
I come here to hang on to my sanity. To curl up on Kitty couch. anti-d and pain killer holding strong. holding off mental and physical pain. Should either wear off it wont be good.
ANT. Thank you for providing this safe place for me to come at times like this. ♥♥♥♥
DEE- I'm here with you. I'm sorry you are going through all this with your son. I'm going to do my write up for Craig & Teri for SYTYCD- Canada and I'll be back. I also owe emails to Erin & Ali, but I may have to do that tomorrow. Hugs to you DEE!
DEE- Sorry I have to go to bed now. I'm thinking of you. I think he should cancel the girlfriend and get better. Let us know how it goes. You know sometimes I'm up at night so I will check up on you. ♥
Carrying on DRD’s Creed thingie…
Let's take each step of the ANT COLONY CREED and try to think of examples in our own lives where we've implemented it. Today's is (yesterday‘s was): 1. To always speak the truth...except when to do so would injure another.
My mother always said “lying by omission” is the same as lying itself. Leaving out important details could cause more harm than not. The medical field and hospice care centers probably deal with this daily… I appreciate what Nancy’s saying (page 2 post). So this creed thing… I’m not sure as I follow it precisely because I usually just blurt out the truth *as I see it*… sometimes without a second though about how it will affect others.
Essentially my answer to Creed #1 is a diversionary answer that answers not. Did you see how that happened?
It answered a bigger question inside. Thank you Donna! Walka walka walka! :-p
♥
I wish I could fix things for Dee. :-/ Maybe she can help sing along with the hump day tune... to follow! :-p
Spank-a-dee-doo-dah, spank-a-dee-ay
My, oh my, what a lovely Hump day
Plenty of sunshine headin' my way
Spank-a-dee-doo-dah, spank-a-dee-ay!
Mister Bluebird's on my shoulder
It's the truth, it's actual
Ev'rything is satisfactual
Spank-a-dee-doo-dah, spank-a-dee-ay
Wonderful feeling… spank Dee on Hump day!
Interesting... I turned a beloved childhood nursery rhyme into something not so beloved.
Didn't Oprah write a book with that title? What title? I don't know. Why did you ask? Who me? Why did you follow? What?

Hey All, quick question.Does anyone work in health insurance? I have been informed through my health insurance (aetna) that in order to continue receiving dependent health coverage, I have to send them copies of my childrens birth certificates, copies of my tax return and a copy of my marriage license. This seems like such an invasion of privacy and in today's world with identity theft it really upsets me to have to send birth cert., taxes and such. I don't want to do it, but need health coverage. Has this happened to anyone else? ARggh! I can see verifying from the tax return, but all the rest? If the tax return is good enough for gov't why not health insurance companies?
Happy Birthday Ali
Hugs all around
Thank you all for your thoughts. Still not sure whats up.. You all are incredible. ♥♥♥♥ I cant tell you how much i love you all.

The years just seem to fly by.... Which just made me think of a song by a man who died far far too young..a great singer..songwriter..person..humanitarian..Harry Chapin.... This is a song for all of us: our love here IS like a circle .... just keeps going round and round...I know whatever happens ..the good ..the bad..the in between stuff.. when it comes down to it..we are ALL here for each other... so grateful for (((ANT))) this blog..and ALL of (((YOU))) !!!! Always..... ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

.
"All my life's a circle;
Sunrise and sundown;
Moon rolls thru the nighttime;
Till the daybreak comes around.
All my life's a circle;
But I can't tell you why;
Season's spinning round again;
The years keep rollin' by.
It seems like I've been here before;
I can't remember when;
But I have this funny feeling;
That we'll all be together again.
No straight lines make up my life;
And all my roads have bends;
There's no clear-cut beginnings;
And so far no dead-ends.
Chorus:
I found you a thousand times;
I guess you done the same;
But then we lose each other;
It's like a children's game;
As I find you here again;
A thought runs through my mind;
Our love is like a circle;
Let's go 'round one more time."
OMGolly it's Ali-Kat's birthday!?!?!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY GIRL!!!!!!

Go through my purse if you dare..
I left something there to share..
You are so funny kind and sweet..
For you I left a special treat.

Before it turns to goopy goo
Though a treat awakes..
It's not one of your usual cakes.
Not made with ordinary ice cream
Have you ever heard of Rice Dream?
So a warning before you take a slice
it is not made of dairy..but of milk o de' Rice!
...
Bet you can't wait. to dig in, eh???? LOL!!!

Okay, not going to spoil America's Got Talent for anyone still watching, but I LOVE who won. So wonderful to see someone who it really means so much to, actually win. Both finalists were great though.

There, that's everyone who has commented. :P
I'm sending prayers out to everyone, whether they ask for them or not. :) And I rarely do this, but I need some prayers too. Just not for me, from my grandma. I going to take a bus to see her today and I'm sooo excited to be with her, except this visit will be a little different. We're going to go over to funeral plans, because she's ready to go. I don't need prayers for me, I'll find the strength somewhere...I just need prayers for her. ♥
((KRISTEN)) ((((Grandma))))
That's a tough day to have to go through, but you're lucky to have the time to spend together and talk about what she wants. I'll be thinking of you both.
Nancy - Thanks for posting #2! I was in meetings yesterday and didn't have a chance to get here. My bad!! So, let's try this one with a time delay, just for fun!!
.
2. To talk health, happiness and prosperity to EVERYONE you meet.
.
I have to confess, it may not be with EVERYONE I meet; but I LOVE talking about the things I learn here! I share recipes and health plans, I share lessons from the 4 Agreements. So I guess my area for improvement will be to have these conversations with MORE people. Can do! :o)
ANT - what a treat to see your name here! Isn't that funny? Glad to know that healing is happening. xxoo
Oh, and for the record:
.
DEE If you dare stop posting stories involving livestock, wild animals and all manner of woodland creatures, I will personally hunt you down and administer 50 lashes with wet noodles. (And if I'm REALLY mad, I'll use whole grain pasta!)
Healthy EASY fall cookie recipe:
.
Combine one Spice Cake box mix with one can of pumpkin. (nothing else). After mixed, use small/mini "ice cream" scoop to plop cute little round balls of dough on a lightly greased baking sheet.
.
Bake in pre-heated 350 degree oven for 8-10 minutes. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.
.
Top with a little "schmear" of cream cheese frosting if you like. This was a Weight Watchers favorite. Each cookie (with frosting) was just one point. (Others of you will be better at calculating calories, fiber, carb content...lol)
.
YUM!!
DR DONNA- That sounds like a great recipe. Quick and easy treat. Thank You.
.
I still haven't made Ali-Kat's dump cake yet, but I have all the ingredients! You just dump everything in the pan and voila it's finished when baked! LOL!
(((KRISTEN))) Thank you so much. ..you were not sooo late at all!! LOL
Love and good thoughts to you and to your Grandma..it may be hard but will be good for her to know all is taken care of. Does seem like a lot for you to take on though.
ERIN...I forgot to comment yesterday about the insurance..I have same one as you and I NEVER heard of that seems really wrong to me. What could they possibly need all that for? I will email you later as I can. Loved reading about you making a cake and that you fixed the stove yourself!! Way to go!!
.
DR DONNA.....Thanks for sharing that recipe..It sounds great...and REALLY easy!! ..DAWN..even easier than the dump cake.. HA! Now be sure to get the ingredients and sit them on the counter.....LOL!! Not like I don't do the same thing! NANCY gave me a cookie recipe and it took me about a month to finally make them! :)
.
((((((((DEE)))))))) Love you!
.
DAWN...Thanks for reminding me Survivor on tonight! I did not realize it...I get to zone out a bit which is needed for sure! Hope you do the same. & hearts;

ELLIOT'S FRIEND- Thanks for that video. Loved thinking of what I was up to in those years! LOL!

ALI-KAT- Yes, I will be ZONE OUT TV tonight too! Ha!
Kristen - You are such an amazing young woman. You seem like such an old soul, taking on responsibilities some of us, with decades on you couldnt handle. You are strong and have so much wisdom for your or any age. Im sending strength to you and your grandma. Im so proud to know you and hope we never lose contact because i believe you are someone special who will go places. Anywhere you choose and put your mind to. Much Love Kristen ♥♥♥♥

ERIN- Did that email come through?
((Dawn))
I actually posted it because I needed to tell it to myself. :)
:looking for unpost button:
I should probably sign off for awhile from the Colony. Things have been getting harder and harder and I gave in several days ago to some chemical persuasion. I don't want to be toxic to this community as I try to find my footing again. I'm sorry, Colony and ANT, for letting you down.
I gave up my "birthday" that matched my fathers...I'm not sure what I can do in the next eight months to get me to that accidental holy ground...
That didn't make any sense to anyone but me, did it? I screwed up and used. I'd stopped using on my dead father's birthday over four months ago. I'm out.
And...I'm sorry.
Sincerely.
Why is it easier to insure my car than it is my body? I’m curious about our system.
The devil once said, “Pay to the order of…” and somehow it stuck.
In other news, it’s Friday! Maybe that’s great for you and maybe it’s not. I can’t tell right now. It’s just another “system” created to keep us on track. Creditors know when payday lands… it’s the only reason the day even has a name.
If it weren’t for bills, today would be called “Day.”
Sign the dotted line, xoxo C
-sigh-
Elliot's Friend can't be any more toxic here than I am! Keep posting :-)
And yes, it DID make sense.
What doesn't make sense is this wet noodle beating and why more people haven't been invited to watch.
Who?
Speaking of wet noodle beatings, where's Heidi?
:-o
Happy Friday Argus! ♥
ELLIOTS' FRIEND- Like Chris it made sense to me too. Keep posting here.
.
CHRIS- The other day I had to go to Save On to buy some meds I needed to take for this test. Bought a few grocery at the same time while waiting for them to do up the Rx. The line up's were 20 deep and I thought WTH? PAYDAY!! for everyone. So I agree with you about Payday!! Chaotic in the store.

(((Elliot's Friend)))
A great thing about the colony is that we're all here for each other in the good and bad times. It seems like whenever people are going through a hard time, they leave for awhile. I'm guilty of doing that too. But this is suppose to be a place of no judgments.
I'm just now starting to catch on to how many people seem "quiet" lately. Even the person who's been the heart and soul of the colony has disappeared for awhile. And I don't want to assume that the quiet is because of difficult times. But in case it is, this is the one place where we shouldn't be afraid or ashamed to say, "I'm hurt and I need some help."
If someone has made a mistake, this is the place to come to.
If someone needs to heal, this is the place to come to.
If someone just wants to talk or needs a friend, this is the place to come to.
And I hope this post isn't completely meaningless, because I care for everyone here. No one should ever leave because they slipped up. You don't need to find your footing alone. ♥
Dee - The last thing I'm gunna do is lose contact with you! Your words are so sweet, I'm just not sure if I fit description of the girl you were talking about. :P Maybe someday.
I walked into my grandmother's house depressed and negative. But going over her funeral plans wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. She said at one point that it's a beautiful thing, especially on her end. It's everyone else who makes it so depressing (her subtle way of telling me to "chill" lol). She said she's excited to see her husband again and also her "baby girl." I've mentioned my aunt here a few times and how she became a mom to me; she was my grandma's youngest. I guess it doesn't matter how old you get, your parents will always see you as their "baby." And as soon as she said that I thought, "I have to tell the colony this!" So I hope you all don't ever forget that. :)
When I came home, there was a baby bird sitting on the railing of my balcony. So I guess life goes on.
TERI- You will have to let us know if you start watching Dexter tomorrow! LOL! OMG!
.
KRISTIN- It is great to have everything ready and then the people left behind don't have to guess or get into a conflict as to how the person wanted to be remembered. My Mom did it 12 yrs before she dies and at the time it happened (sudden) we were so glad it was all set in place. My husband and I have done the same too for each other. It's so the person that is left isn't overloaded with grief and BS!!!
GINGER- How is your Marathon going today? I guess with your Grandchild you won't be watching Dexter today!
.
BEDBUG- How are you liking your Kindle?
DID anyone watch SURVIVOR last night?
ELLIOTS FRIEND!!! Heck i dont even like calling you that. You are MY friend. Why does Elliot rate? Maybe i will call you D.F for awhile. Dees friend.
I have always loved your posts. you are truly a fave of mine here. I learn from you. laugh with you. Your posts are insightful and honest. I love that.
Okay it happens. We get down. Scared to dump our issues on the blog, but heck that is why we are all here.
E.F - This blog has been there thru my hardest time. if not being able to come here i would have been lost. I have cried of my moms passing on here, my sons addictions, my issues with depression and my big mouth-itis. Why is it not okay to share your issues.
As far as slipping. I have been there. Its okay. you just pick yourself up and start fresh. One slip up doesnt make a difference. you quit before and you can do it again. anyone with any sort of addiction can be so hard on themselves when they slip. When my son slipped recently, it sent him to depression because he was upset with himself he blew his sobriety. but he got back on the wagon and even more determined. Most dont just quit in one day. As you cut down, your desire will become less and less as you find new things to do with your time. and new coping skills to make you feel better.
We indulge because we want instant satisfaction of feeling better. when we are only making it worse. not giving our body time to heal. Nutrition is invaluable. Also a very good supplement of amino acids will help alot. Inositol, Calcium with magnesium are great healers of your central nervous system.
Remember what you do to your body today, is how you will feel tomorrow. What you did yesterday is how you feel today. So important to take care of yourself by feeding things that work with CNS not against it. The instant relief is actually more damaging. The biggest help is working on your brain. Cognitive therapy. to change your thought process. I can now look at alcohol and see the evil nectar for what it is and damage it does and the pain it has caused me.
so remember though you feel bad today. what you do today will determine how you feel tomorrow. so be good to yourself today. and tomorrow will be better. Sending tons of love and encouragement your way D.F! ♥♥♥♥
DEE- You are such an invalueable friend! ♥ ♥ ♥
Should I have said valueable friend? You know what I meant!!!
LOL Dawn. Thank you. So are you. Hope everyone is doing well today. Its been a tough couple of weeks here but I made it through. would be happier if mouth pain was gone. but slapping around my dentist a little would help. or at least the vision of it makes me smile :)
Jack just got a new sawmill and is cutting wood. producing lumber that is about $50 a board. so its exciting. All this wood and Jack is a carpenter. woohoo. I love being self sufficient. our own water system, eggs and meat from our chickens. and soon steak from neighbors cow if they come in my yard again.... veggies from the garden.
sorry. hick talk.
Dawn - i missed Survivor but thanks to your post i set it to record next one.
HAPPY FRIDAY COLONY!!!!
DAWN: Triple love the Kindle. I just couldn't love it more!
Dee you are our health GURU
would you consider doing an item a day telling us why we should take it and its benefits, I sure would like to know more homeopathic alternatives to all the chemicals they keep shoving down out throats
NANCY- I agree with you about DEE our pharmacist! LOL! I want to know what to take for anxiety. I've taken all the B vit, and not anymore, but Kava Kava (did nothing for me anyway) and St John's Wort which made me even nuttier than I am already! LOL! I take ginger pills for nausea. Just great when you don't want to get sleepy from Gravol.
BEDBUG- How many books do you have on your Kindle? Do you do one at a time. Is it great for reading in bed without a light? Does it have a back light on it? I always am keeping my hubby restless when I read in bed.
for your listening pleasure
DAWN: I only have about half a dozen books on mine, but it's pretty new. I'm pretty much a one book at a time person. It doesn't have a backlight and that's why there's no eyestrain (and no quick battery drain), but yes there's a clip-on light you can use on it that makes it ok for reading in bed.
Yes, DEE, I'd appreciate some guidance on something. I've so far had two doctors offices this week tell me there's no way to test for my melatonin level (or that there's no such thing ... believe it or not) and so I can't get to part B of my question to them about whether or not I should take something called 5-HPT or was it 5-HPT. I forget. Anyhow, I had researched it and it sure seemed like it would address about half dozen of my issues, BUT ONLY if I have low melatonin levels. I did see a test online to test that level with urine and mail it in for like $70, but I figured my insurance should cover it with a blood test or something. I'm very confused now.
late night here and very tired... I'll give you a big one in the morning.
A post, that is. :O
Loving you girls and boys!
Good evening ANT Town :)
3. To be so strong, that nothing can disturb your inner peace.
now this one I have trouble with, because of my inherent shyness, and my upbringing of the youngest of 5 kids and the only girl
I was to be silent, everything was planned out for me
so after marriage a lot of things changed.....a wife, a friend, a mother, still a daughter and sister but also the voice of reason and the cook, the gardener, the housekeeper, the breadwinner well, yuo get the picture
these were thrust upon me, I didn't plan on it and I wasn't prepared for it
so where was I going with this?
oh yes, so I don't feel strong but I have had to be strong for my family, job, self...but the inner me is insecure and wants to be the child that had everything planned out for her again SIGH
Oh its my pleasure to talk of alternative health. For starters we believe that cancer and other diseases cannot live in a healthy environment. Sugar being the number one feeder of illness. Being kind to your liver, giving it the least amount of toxins to clear out.
So based on that, diet is so important. Not quantity but quality. Greens are so lacking in our diets these days and they supply some of the most essential vitamins. The Chlorophyll in the plants increase the oxygen in our body. Oxygenating the body feeds our cells making them strong enough to fight off any invader.
These are some basics but i will write about anxiety and depression. I have studied it non stop for the last 8 yrs. I will be careful what i write and wont recommend anything that can harm.
Nancy, that was incredible. so insightful you can see that. I was the youngest of 4. Told I couldnt do anything. my response was just watch me. Not sure i would have been so successful if i hadnt wanted to prove everyone wrong.
3. To be so strong, that nothing can disturb your inner peace.
Cant say i have that mastered. but the good news is i freak out and then calm down pretty fast. i get over things quickly. Can go from crying to laughing in 1 minute. Humor is invaluable. or is it valuable? Dawn? LOL. Everytime i feel devasted, when i get back up i feel a little bit stronger, thinking. holy crap i beat that. I can do anything.
The majority of the time i am so at peace. I am so happy with my life. and life around me. Everything is as it should be. Everything around me positive and negative make this day what it is. I can appreciate that. I am so grateful for being part of this world. and definitely a part of this colony...♥
Hi (((Colony)))!
((ELLIOT'S FRIEND)) You are amazing, everyone stumbles, we all have days we feel it is hard to look in the mirror. The great and hard thing is that until we don't, we always have another day to try again. Please post whenever you want to, even if you are having a hard time. No judgments,right? ♥♥♥♥
3. To be so strong, that nothing can disturb your inner peace.
That one is one I think I will always work on. To outside world, I think I appear calm and collected. In crisis situations, I go very calm. Inner is a whole other story. I have never felt inner peace, so much anxiety, worry, fear. Truly only time I felt inner peace was delivering my babies. Weird, I know, but somehow even with the doctors, hospital, nurses, it was all me, God and my babies at that moment. Almost like I was not in my body, but outside it marveling at myself and cheering myself on. Like the pain had transported me to something else. Anyone else know what I am trying to say? :) Maybe I should answer this one when feeling less hormonal.
DAWN--I watched Survivor. What did you think? How did your appointments go? Hope you are recuperating! ♥
TERI--Thanks for being such a wonderful friend to me! ♥
NANCY--I hope to do trivia tomorrow night! Can you post a link or send it to me? (You seem to exude inner peace!!)
((DEE)) You are an amazing, wonderful person. Thank you for all you have done for me!! What do you think is good medicine for headaches? I have one now and just got your warning about not mixing the two painkillers. Now I keep staring longingly at the bottles, but afraid you can sense that I am about to do it, lol! ♥
(((ALI))) Thank you for info about Aetna. Hope you are feeling alright and have a great weekend!
((DONNA)) Just saw Michael Moore was in Minnesota tonight showing his new movie. Wish he would come near me!! How are you doing? ♥
((Kristen)) Loved the baby bird on your balcony!! You see signs, that is so wonderful!
((Chris)) Hope you have a weekend filled with spanks and whatever your heart desires ♥
((CRAIG)) You have been on my mind a lot this week. Random Craig thoughts ♥ Hope you are doing okay!! I had to give all that info to continue my insurance. This was the bottom line: Companies are starting to audit their health insurance benefits because of cost and people scamming about dependents. If your company decides to audit and you want your dependents covered, you have to provide what they ask for. I have sent a letter to company stating that I felt it was invasive etc. I cannot go without the insurance and so was stuck in that proverbial rock and a hard place. My parents got the same letter and they have a completely different insurance company and live in different state and work for different company. The guy I spoke to at Aetna said they have been getting a lot of calls and it seems to be the new way to try and save a buck at the consumers expense. Yuck!!!!
BEDBUG--I hope you get your test done and what you need to feel better. I have never heard of what you are asking about. It sounds interesting though!!
Hope ALL Ants have a great weekend and come to trivia to hang out!!
(((ANT))) Thinking of you! ♥♥♥♥
I saw this trailer and literally wished I had known about this program because I so would have tried to get in. I think I could move a goat with my mind, what about all of you? :o)
3. To be so strong, that nothing can disturb your inner peace.
I'm 18, what adult would wanna hear what I have to say? ...Too bad, you're gunna hear it.
I was told at a very young age something very similar to this, by someone who reminds me a lot of ANT. And it's taken me years to really understand it. I feel very blessed to have a small group of childhood friends who have stuck by me through hellish times. Knowing that it took a lot to be friends with someone who had monsters for parents, didn't stop them from trying to intervene in a situation where my inner peace was rattled daily.
I thought their loving, protective and even lifesaving advice was just them being controlling and belittling, telling me what to do with my life and my family. I was too stubborn to admit I was wrong and they were right. Too scared to leave a situation that was familiar to me, no matter how harmful.
But I wasn't too scared to push away the people who were trying to help. I thought I was being strong by pushing my friends away. Until I pushed them so far that I lost them all. And I wouldn't get them back until I did what they told me to do, for the sake of my inner peace.
I'm living life abuse-free now. Which means I'm feeling true peace for the first time. And I will never let the negative people back in, nor will I ever keep quiet about this either. I'm not ashamed to talk about it anymore, and I'll live the rest of my life helping others in the same mess I was in. Now that I've felt that peace, I know how to take care of it and where to go to feel it.
Ahhh, midnight ramblings. :) I'll regret that in the morning lol.
Is it impossible for me to type out ONE paragraph and click "post"? :P
here is why we haven't heard from TLJ
her Corey contacted me to let us know she is back in the hospital in a confused/dementia state. there is someone with her around the clock for safety reasons and they are changing her meds, hoping that is the reason for her alteration in personality
I will keep you informed as I get updates
BSA
Prayers for TLJ!
Nancy, Thank you for letting us know about Jean. Sending out love to you Jean!
Kristen - What adult would want to hear 18 yr olds thoughts? ME. Every age has unique insight. the younger a person the less influenced by society and trained thoughts. I love to hear fresh thoughts of someone young.
Erin - Headaches are a very large subject. but many are caused by dehydration. That is the first thing to do. Drink water. ensure you are hydrated. Try to find source of headache. maybe back or neck need adjustment but so depends on type. Migraines are a whole different ball game. These supplements can help.
calcium/magnesium - relaxes muscles and deficiency can cause migraines.
Coenzyme Q10 - This is one of the best supplements out right now for every purpose. It oxygenates tissue.
Foods that contain tyramine cause blood pressure to rise so best to try to avoid them. It is in aspartane, MSG, alcohol, bananas, cheese and more. its quite a list.
Chronic headaches are often the result of overloaded liver, so doing anything to give it a bit of a break is helpful. Any meds, prescription or over the counter are hard on the liver. If you can try to manage pain without, long term results will be better.
Have you tried rubbing tiger balm on neck, temples. There are also pressure points you can press and release and it helps. Just under your ears at the tip of your jaw. At the base of your skull. one on each side. You will know when you find them. Press, hold for count of 5 and release. massage your ears. They hold so much tension.
Well thats a start.... hope that helps some..
Dawn, Anxiety is another deep subject and no simple answer for. I can tell you Kava Kava and st johns wort are too unpredictable and side affects for my liking.
I am currently working with my son on anxiety and this is what i gave to him.
Inositol - A form of vitb, that will settle your CNS. That is the key.
Choline - For CNS impulses, liver function. without Choline, brain function and memory are impaired.
Calcium and magnesium - natural tranquillizer.
Liquid vit b1 and b12
Essential fatty acids are crucial to brain function.
This is my belief. Anxiety is caused mainly by a rush of adrenaline. It can be caused by a thought or just happen on its own. Feeding our body the supplements i spoke of will help to start to balance our cns but we need to do cognitive therapy to learn to deal when it does hit, until we find the answer.
There is strong evidence to suggest that everyone affected by depression and anxiety are deficient in Amino Acids. I believe they are a major component.
There is a company out called True Hope. They have a supplement that is very high in amino acids and they also promote the use of choline and inositol. They have a very high rate of success helping people with anxiety, depression and bi-polar issues. Check out their website www.truehope.com.
I in no way am selling any products. In fact you have to be screened to be on their program, but high amino acid supplements plus choline, inositol and calcium/magnesium are very successful. In one day, my son noticed a difference. He called today on cloud 9, excited about life again. so i hope this works for him.
All of these supplements are not known to have contraindications. but like with anything check with your "knowing" doc if not sure. :)
Just dropping by to say hello to Teri....since she said hello to me.
Hello!
Ok, what goodies do we have left in the fridge???
DEE- Or for those who missed Survivor on Thurs.

CBS’s revised schedule for Saturday, Sept. 19
8:00-9:00 PM SURVIVOR: SAMOA (R)
My impression of Nancy was one of strength and extreme discipline so it’s interesting to see my impression of our Queen BSA wasn’t entirely accurate. Not that she isn’t either of those but I never would have thought her inner self had insecurities like this. Maybe not “insecurities” so much as a self awareness? Maybe?
It makes me think about how I’ve been misinterpreted for better or worse. Sometimes that whole “spank me spank you let’s all spank each other” routine gets old and it’s an imaginary mindset subtly planted as a distraction. It’s fun. It’s silly. It pisses some people off to high heaven, so I hope they say hello to people I’ve lost while they‘re up there fuming about my spank-paddle mentality. It’s a personal effort to keep grinning in a world that sometimes isn’t so pleasant - don‘t judge!
On the flipside, “Happy all the time” I’ve been called. Ha! You’ve been tricked ultimately by my cheery spankiness and I think that word hasn’t existed until now. That made me grin, and now it’s worth it all over again for more reasons!
It’s all about YOU, so spank it. :-o
Dee talking about “Sugar being the number one feeder of illness!” I love her more and more, and she’s sugar-free too! Bonus spank!
Even though I haven’t given birth myself and don’t plan to in this body, I understand what Beany-Bean is saying. What I don’t understand is these foolish nicknames I tend to offer. It’s like bonus material spanked all over again.
Saturday gets a lot of action in el-spanko ville apparently. Excellenccccce!
Well now… I remember being 18 and thinking the adults didn’t want to hear me, and suddenly I became one of “them” and I still don’t want to hear what I have to say! (Just kidding) :-p Age blurs with more age if that makes sense. Kristen is the same “age” as everyone here.
(Her multi-paragraphed posts are appreciated as I can relate.)
{{{{{TLJ}}}}} I hope you feel well enough to post soon! This place needs some tender lovin’, after all.
Dee is tender lovin’ of her own sort too. This place has tons of stuff going on in the love department! Grab a seat, grab a mic, a wunderbar or what have you… love it!
The ANT® Love drive-thru.
I hope Robin gets this 5-hpttpph thing resolved so we know what to finally call it, at least. :-p Besides that, it would be nice to figure out the issue itself so daily life can be a bit more comfortable for her. I’m hoping for that soon!
Steph, Dawn, E.(and everyone else’s)F., Ali, Teri, Heidikins, Jaxxxxxy, Pamela, Donna, Emjay, Khay… Craig and the rest of ya’s (and Jazzy who just did a classic Teri - Love Drive-By)… I wave my Saturday hello to you! It looks the same as the other day waves but this one is excited about being the weekend. It sways differently.
3. To be so strong, that nothing can disturb your inner peace. My answer: “Yeah, right.” If you figure out how, please let me know.
May all you ANT people have an excellent Saturday!
This video is incredibly moving.
You might not realize what will progress until it begins progressing the progressiveness of it all.
A progress of mankind that me likey.
I think you will too, those who haven't already seen it. ♥

GOODNIGHT EVERYONE. HAPPY Sunday!
ohhhh my goodness.... what a mess..... (grabs the bottle of wine)....where to begin.... look at this mess.....
Ecstatic! That’s a good word to describe this morning’s energy. Just thrilled for the future of this place and her people. You don’t know the half of it!
You DO know the half of it, but the rest is just out there… somewhere in the universe. Waiting. Watching. Listening. Planning.
“Wanting. Needing. Waiting… for you to justify my love. (My love) Oh oooo oh oooo my love!”
*smirk*
4. To be just as enthusiastic of anothers success as you are about your own. This one tends to be a good creed entry for me because I’m always excited about friend’s accomplishments… and try to be there when things aren’t so accomplished. The tricky part is I’m not overly excited about ME personally - always MORE excited about someone else’s success over my own. I think it’s easy to “win” this way. Sort of live my own life through others but essentially do nothing myself. Cheer on the crowd in an effort to feel productive… that’s it.
Ah hah! I found it! Creed #4 has a hidden (look inside) mushy sweetness! Very magical indeed! Like a Cadbury Cream Egg
I got an email this morning that thrilled me to pieces. A friend who deals with emotional set-backs of insecurity is well on her way to her dreams. I can’t even feel my fingers type - I’m that giddy! Giddy up! She has no idea the STAR she’s always been and the universe has decided that she is ready for what lies ahead because she‘s decided to initiate these dreams. Light shines!
Jesus, pinch me. Sunday, September 20, 2009.
09/20/2009, or the folks abroad may choose this variation: 20/09/2009
I’m not smart enough to verbalize in English what exists in this electrical field right now.
It’s real. It’s magic. I can’t wait to witness the changed lives ahead.
The funny part is the people reading this are likely the ones to be most affected and half of them don’t even realize it. :-p I love it. Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
♥
Can you feel the excitement yet or did you skim my post?
Go back and read what’s happening and think about all that COULD be happening to you right now… all that IS happening to you right now.
We would crap our pants to learn the names of some silent readers here at the NBC Colony home. “Six degrees of separation.” That’s all I know today.
Be your own magic. xoxo

Thinking of you.
((MrsBean)) I guess the good thing is that everyone is in the same boat.
((DEE)) Thank-you for your sharing your naturopathic experience. :-)
((Teri)) The job is getting better. It started off crap and now it is the fly buzzing around the crap.
I think that means things are getting better. :-P
((Nancy/SoCal)) I hope trivia was fun, fun, fun! Thanks for the boogie woogie.
:-)
((Kristen)) Love reading your posts.
((Neblina)) Thinking of you.
((Chris)) The Black Eyed Peas song has been one where people hear it and wonder who that group is. The flash mob dance was wild. I had never seen that before. I didn't realize there was a dance routine with that song. I don't think that has happened in a long time.
My parents had this book which outlined the disco dance moves. I always smiled looking through it. It seemed silly.
((DAWN)) The next time you go to the doctor you could ask them about cloning. This way you would be able to watch all your tapes. :-P
Hustle your Sunday!

I love living vicariously through others' successes it is a win-win they feel good and like a virus spreading, I feel good too
there might be a tinge of jealousy sometimes but it is outweighed by the joy I feel and often, that virus leads me to spread even more joy around and that's a good thing
GOOD MORNING COLONY♥

OH Dear! I think im busted being out on the town without my GG! Honest Ali-Oop i didnt flirt with any NOGs. Mind you I may have been crushing on Ami and Janie a tad. ;) It was so good to see them again. Miss them here at the blog.
Nancy you are so awesome. operating around tech problems. and typing all that out. You really are our Secretary Ant. Why is it all just seems like it will be okay when Nancy is around?
Ginger!!! Come back. so good to see you here.
Im thinking about making a computer game. one where i chase my dentist around and pull his teeth. agggh. cant stand this much longer.
TL Jean!!!!! Thinking of you. Sending lots of good energy.
Happy Sunday Colony!
CRAIG- Thanks for the dance this morning. It made my day. Too funny.
.
HAPPY SUNDAY to everyone. It's nice and sunny here today.
CHRIS- I'm so happy for you. I can feel the electricity alright!!!! I hope I know who you are talking about!!! ♥
4. To be just as enthusiastic of anothers success as you are about your own.
This is a big one! Your world changes when you start to be excited for others and not feel jealous. I used to want for so much. I always shot for the moon, thinking i could have anything i wanted. I realized i could but everything had a price.
My dream was to be rich and famous. I moved to West Van. Hung out with only the richest and got a job in the movie industry. Lesson learned. They were so boring and superficial i couldnt stand it. I no longer coveted what they had. I realized true friends and genuine people was where it was at for me.
I think when you believe you can have anything you want,if you put your mind to it, you quit wanting. or at least wanting for material things. I had always been quite poor. okay very poor. lol and everything i worked for i treated it like it was gold. Then i started making good money and things came easily. It was not near as satisfying.
I quit a 6 figure job and left a show home on the golf course to move into old 1976 mobile home in the country. Ive never been happier.
Well crud i just realized i still covet. just changed my wants. when someone buys land out here, im very envious. but thats okay i will get it.. lol. so much for that lesson learned... back to my corner.. and land coveting....
Hi (((ANT))) and (((COLONY)))
.
ANT..Hope you are doing well and just busy with life and with your little pup..doing puppy things... training...playing..walking..feeding... snuggling .. scooping!! :) xoxo
.
So glad all had a fun trivia night! I wish I could have made it last night.. but...brain not there. :) I am still looking for it to be honest! Just a warning before any dare to continue reading...
.
DEE ♥ ... how could my NOG have been there when she and I were very busy elsewhere? :P Glad you have new crushes to add! :)
.
I guess I should not be posting on this agreement right now as what if you have NO enthusiasm for your own successes....or feel you don't even have any successes does that mean you cant be enthusiastic about anothers? I hope not.
.
I am always happy to see others succeed...sometimes though I guess I might get that feeling to be honest .....(Oh and this will sound whiney I guess...and I really am NOT whiney type at all even though Okay..I am about to sound whiney...:P ).... I wish that could be me accomplishing so much....wish I were that capable..but not to the point of taking away from another ever.........just that you miss being that person...being that way so much yourself I guess.... but that thought never diminishes the joy I have for another.. Making any sense here? I usually know to stay away.... but here I am anyway today..... :)
.
(((CRAIG))) Hey...you found that cassette (yes..I said cassette!!) ... in my purse didn't you?? LOL!! Are you making fun of the Hustle?? It was one of my favorite dances!! Well....when I was a baby..or Okay....when a little girl...yes..I was a little girl..throw in some BUMP!! haha and I would be right at home...LOL!! Bring back DISCO!! haha! I know most of you probably not even born when DISCO or cassettes existed!! LOL!
.
(((CHRIS))) are you saying KEVIN BACON reads this blog??!! !! HA!
.

.
(((COLEEN))) I hope you are well and are still enjoying your trip to Germany and visit with Jason. :)
.
Have a great Sunday everyone.. ♥ ♥ ♥
NANCY--Trivia was so fun last night. I learned some new things and stayed up past my bedtime. Feels like college again, lol! Thanks for doing it!! :)
ALI--Your post made perfect sense to me. It is the wondering of how far you could go, if you weren't dealing with whatever you are dealing with. I feel that way a lot. In high school, I thought I would go to Georgetown, get my law degree and be the world's champion. Well, life happened and I went to school in Florida, got a degree in English and hopefully am at least my children's champion. I don't have envy for anyone else and what they have. I just sometimes feel like I have disappointed myself and those who know me because I think I had more potential than I used. I don't want stuff, but I want the security of a safe roof over my families head, food for my family, safe cars for transportation. Just basic things that I have to work really hard to cover. The one place I do covet and don't intend to stop, lol! is people who get to travel. I love it and would do it all the time if I could. I don't feel angry or upset with people who have more, but I do sometimes get upset when it seems that they have more because they were willing to play dirty. I have seen that a lot. So I guess I don't have this one down either!!
DAWN--Don't you want to ring the oil company owner's neck on Survivor? Not into wishing bad things on people, but a small shark bite wouldn't be too much to ask, right?? KIDDING!! :)AND someone needs to tell him that underwear does not replace shorts, yikes!
CRAIG--As long as the boat is not the Titanic, lol! :)
CHRIS--So intrigued with your post!! Is Ali right? Is it Kevin Bacon, lol!! I live about 20 minutes from where they filmed Footloose. Those mills in the movie make some of the best bread and pancake mixes. YUM! Nothing else looks the same there anymore though, all built up and crowded. :( I hope your post was about who I think it was too, because she is awesome and beautiful and deserves everything!! ♥
DEE-- You were two timing everyone at trivia last night? Well, hmmph! I only had a book on tape in my headphones. :)
TERI--Thinking of you and hoping you are having a great weekend.
I am making stuffed shells and pierogies for dinner. Will leave extra in the kitchen hoping to lure the night crew back.....also pints of ben and jerrys in the freezer. :)
Hope EVERYONE has a great night!
Oink Oink.....I just fainted and it feels like I have the flu. My temp. is 102.7 I think when I asked the Ant amplifier to make me hot it misunderstood me. ;o) This seems to have been my relationship with the Universe for as long as I can remember. ( I really did not ask to be hot!! :) )So hold off on eating that food I left in the kitchen until I can make sure I am not contaminated. Going to try and go to bed, see you all tomorrow! :)
Oh Ali, Erin, you knew of my tartish behavior when you met me. Hence the rusty halo. Hey i was going to say Hoochie. Remember when Hoochie was a cute word. Holy Hannah, i looked it up.. not so cute anymore.. No Hoochie.. egads the kids reading this must think why does that old woman keep swearing. but really it wasnt a bad word in my day.
Hey does advil make you yappy?
Ali, Why can i picture you doing the hustle in that dress and heels so easily?
Chris - Same question ;)
Blame it on the advil....
can i hit post?? here goes..
Oink?? LOL.. Awe Erin hope you feel better soon. Hop up on the CK couch with Ali and I will pack ice around you both. You are two too HOT women!!
Erin, get better now! Not soon...now.
Please and thank you. :)
(((HUGS)))
peers into the room.....runs to the kitchen.... rumor has it something in the freezer....ooopppsss :(
OH no........((((((((((ERIN)))))))))) I hope you are okay and get better soon! I wonder if the boys brought something home from school already? Those places are such petri dishes!! I will join you on the couch to get some ice from Dee..Maybe will cool us both off..But I will have on gloves and a mask! LOL! FEEL BETTER! xoxo
.
I was watching the EMMY's....I think enough with the silly banter and poor jokes they throw in there..not heard anything funny yet..IMO... :) Maybe just me...
.
Oh.... and the best looking woman so far to me..ELLEN BURSTYN!! She just looks GORGEOUS! Glenn Close not bad either...
.
Oh..speaking of Kevin Bacon..... LOL!!! He was so good and it was so funny when he was guest star on Will and Grace..this vid only a short clip of him dancing with Will .....but also interesting as shows so many who guest starred on that show...for any fans of it out there.
.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yw2ZM2KkjY0&feature=PlayList&p=F18A97D79FCBA7C0&index=5
.
Nite everyone.
ALI-KAT - Thanks for the Will & Grace and Footloose dance. You are so right about all the people that were on that show! I'm taping the Emmys so I can go past the stupid stuff!!!
.
DR DONNA or ANYONE who saw the recipe for those cookies with Spice Cake and Pumpkin. I can't find Spice Cake? What am I missing here? I went over the row of cakes twice (mixes) and can't find it at all??
.
ERIN- I'm sorry you are feeling sick. Yikes, like Ali says I hope the kids aren't bringing things home from school already! Yes, I sure don't like Russell on Survivor. He is called Evil by Jeff and he's right. Not one nice bone in his body at all!!
.
DEE- Maybe if you aren't used to Advil it can make you chatty?? Why are you going back to the dentist? Did he miss part of the tooth when he pulled it??? OMG, I'm not impressed!!
DAWN.....this is ANYONE...LOL! .. I can't believe you were able to look that long at cake mixes! LOL Maybe the store was just out? They make Duncan Hines one I know... here.... to show you! :)
.
http://www.duncanhines.com/products/cakes/moist-deluxe-spice-premium-cake-mix
.
Oh I forgot to comment on Russell..he is horrible! Put on some pants too please! I hope they catch on to him quickly. :)
,
You are smart to tape the Emmy's! Some of it so boring and silly.
.
Good night for real now! :)
Oh Dawn.. i just like to find excuses for being so yappy. ;) Good luck with your spice cake.
Ali - I loved Mr Bacon on W&G. Miss that show. Oh i have to comment on Survivor too. Russell is quite the guy. Its an interesting twist though. but cant see him lasting long..
ALI-KAT- Thanks for the picture of the mix. I know 100 % they didn't have it. I may have to go to a Safeway or something, but as you know patience is NOT my virtue so I won't kill myself to find it. I thought those cookies sounded interesting though. I love pumpkin and it's Thanksgiving here on Oct 12th!!
.
GINGER- How do you cook catfish? I see in my flyer this week they have catfish on sale? If I think of those whiskers though I might not be able to eat it! LOL!
.
DEE- I love when you come out to talk. Give me any reason that's fine? What about your tooth??
**comes out of the kitchen. Puts sterile gloves on. OK heard rumor of some sort of cold/flu going on around here. Well have no fear, I'm back! First task is to start getting everyone back in shape, get some chicken soup going here! Then look at this mess! Also, there is a certain antling I have to track down. We have some business to take care of, more then realized.

HAPPY MONDAY MORNING EVERYONE.
KRISTEN...I'm so glad that you were able to find the strength to do what needed to be done to help yourself. Have you found your friends again?
NANCY...thanks so much for the update on JEAN.
TLJ...you are constantly in my thoughts and prayers &hearts&hearts
JAZZY...did you find any goodies in the fridge yet? Care to share? LOL
CHRIS...waving happily right back at ya! Thanks for sharing the Black Eyed Peas video. How cool was that! I loved it! &hearts I'm really happy for your friend.
VANCOUVERGIRL...welcome back. Have you managed to find everything yet? LOL
DAWN...So far I've watched 7 episodes of Season 1 of Dexter. It is disturbing, creepy and really good!!! I can only watch it for 72 minutes at a time so it might take me a while to get through them all. LOL
CRAIG...thanks for sharing the video. Brought back a lot of memories for me. I'm still smiling! LOL
ALI...I love seeing you here. Thanks for sharing Footloose. Every time I hear it I just can't help myself I have to start dancing!!! LOL
ERIN...How are you feeling today? I hope your back to your amazing normal self! &hearts
DEE...you can be yappy anytime. I love your posts! &hearts
Ok, I gotta go. I'm baking bread and it's almost ready. Have a wonderful day everyone. Love to All.
5. To remember that God is in the pause.
and maybe a little needle prick
now that didn't hurt much
so we should all take time and pause on a daily basis and slow our brains down some give them a chance to vacation or the nearest thing possible to it, we are on sensory overload most of the time and it isn't healthy
LOL!!!! What a great way to start the day! You guys are hilarious! I swear I am feeling better, no need for needles, really!! Somehow those needles and the thought of Ginger with 2 live chickens under her arms have made me all better. Van and Nancy with the latex gloves....EF clutching pearls....I am just going to do what Dawn said and wash my hands!! Way too fun to see so many posts over night! I can say that the food I left in the kitchen should all be okay to eat, especially the ben and jerry's. Ginger, I left some of the Ginger Snap ben and jerry's for you. Whenever you are done with those poor chickens, lol!
(((KRISTEN))) Thank you ♥ You sound like me as a mom, lol!
(((DEE))) I am almost afraid to look up the word hoochie! I think that guy in Survivor could go far if he stopped taking so much delight in messing with people. I hope he doesn't. Johnny Fairplay and his grandma story is going to seem like baby stuff after this guy is done. That whole Katrina story...ugh!
TERI--Bread, yum!!!! I bet your house smells wonderful right now! ♥
DAWN--I spit out my water with your whisker comment!! I thought I was the only one that had thoughts like that when eating, lol!! I bet you could use a cinnamon cake mix for that recipe from DR DONNA. Which I will be making soon, (thanks Donna!)
Hope EVERYONE has a great day! I will be drinking lots of fluids, washing my hands and hiding from Nancy and Vancouvergirl!
((ALI)) My boys seem fine so it could just be me ( I hope it remains just me!!) That clip of Kevin Bacon was great :) Hope you are doing good today! I am almost ready to watch Dexter. I have the channel, wonder if I can dive right in or do I need to go back to beginning?
~~~~~~~~~ warning.. DEXTER TALK~~~~~~~~~~ :)
((TERI)) Nice to see you!! Hope you are resting after a busy weekend! :) I got that cut off thing after 72 minutes too! It is a pain as right in the middle of it... all of a sudden video stops!! LOL Some in the season 2 are not there so have to find those episodes elsewhere. Then I just bought season three from Amazon!!! I told DAWN she created a monster here!! LOL You described it PERFECTLY.. riveting..yet disturbing is a good one..but by season 2 seemed less so to me for some reason! :) I just think the acting and writing are so great...scary but great..so can look away when I have to as it still freaks me out a bit though! xoxo
ERIN- YOU must start SEASON 1 SHOW 1 TO EXPLAIN EVERYTHING. HONEST. I wouldn't tell you that otherwise. I'm glad you are feeling better this morning.
.
EF- Now the light bulb came on about your pearls! OMG, I am so dense!!! Senior moment or too many pills. Yikes! Run for the hills away from those needles! LOL!
Good Morning (((ANT))) and (((COLONY)))
.
(((ERIN))) Did not see your post... I hope you are feeling better... SO good to see you here!!! That sounded scary! There are too many things out there now to pick up. I hope your boys will not come down with it.
.
To watch DEXTER you really HAVE to start at the first episode....to understand it all and get a feeling for the characters etc.. You can watch some of it online free! Not when your kids are around though! Or do you get SHOWTIME? And..how do you feel about BLOOD?? haha!!
ALI-KAT- What have we created here? LOL! A lot of them are watching First Blood so I think Dexter the blood mostly being off camera is mild to what they are used to watching. The sister's potty mouth can't have kids around either. LOL LOL!!
Hi Dawn!!! ♥ Look at the DEXTER mania!! LOL!
.
To give yourself a fighting chance this cold/flu season.... I think our only hope is to eat tons of fruits and vegetables and good nutrition!! It is true what Grandma always said..eat your vegetables!!
.
Also I saw Dr Oz I think it was talking about the one supplement that will really help get us through all this that we do not get enough of... is VIT D!! I know many of us..especially those of us who don't get out much and also even those that do now use sunscreen most of the time etc.. so we do not get enough VIT D naturally and really need to supplement. They are finding out more and more how important VIT D is... cancer prevention as well.
.
Nancy..sensory overload is right! And it is even scarier with our kids! I truly don't think they have a clue what "quiet time" is. Where did day dreaming go? That is so healthy for the brain and growth etc...
ERIN... Sorry a bit delirious here...I just saw that you said you HAVE the channel! LOL But you still have to get back episodes..:) Rest up today..
I am off to do the same!
.
Have a good day everyone!
ALI-KAT- Now if we could just get everyone watching DANCE too!!! Ha Ha!
Back to bed for me too. Have a good rest. ♥ ♥
~~warning to DEE I mention the B word here!~~~~~
.
LOL!! DAWN!! A good yin and yang!! DEXTER and DANCE!! HAHA! You are right about the blood.. not main thing and a lot is off camera fortunately!! xoxo
(((((ANT))))) (((((Mr. Gurl))))
My little girl started preschool last week. Ugh it was a tough week for mom! lol she on the other hand couldn't wait to go back and had a BLAST! Hopefully this week will be a little easier on mom ;-)
-
How are you holding up Steph?
NEBLINA- I'm sorry all you Mom's are having a hard time. It will get better.
.
I laughed as I reread your comment about your apples. You wrote 25$ and I am from the old school that $25 would post like that. 25c like that. Sorry about that. Too funny that I really did think you got 40 lbs of apples for 25 cents!!! I'm having too many SENIOR moments lately!!! Really. I'm like DEE I have to quit posting after I've taken pain meds!! I can just smell the apple pies though.
.
TERI- Your home made bread sounds wonderful. I'm getting some butter and coming to get some. Warm bread and butter!! Yummy!!!
.
OK, bed NOW!!!
Happy Monday ANT Colony
:?)
I will try to catch up on the comments soon. I feel a little out of touch. Hope that everyone is doing well.
-
Erin so sorry that you are not feeling good. Sending you healing vibes.
-
About Vitamin D I don't know if it was mentioned but it's best to take it in the liquid form. About 1000 IU which is about 0.5ml. You can also pair it with Vitamin B12 they are a good pair together to fight tiredness and also together have excellent anticancer properties.
-
Upon entering flu season, what I can recommend, is taking Vitamin C at least 1000 mg and it's best to use the Time Release kind and pair it with 1000 mg of Echinacea. The two together are an excellent anti-viral and it builds up your immune system for the upcoming flu season.
-
Of course before taking any vitamins make sure that they won't interact with any medications that you may be taking.
DAWN Yes I did giggle when I read that you thought I paid 25 cents for the apples. Love your little senior moments they are cute ;-)
-
Had a very productive day. After I took my little girl to preschool I went for my daily run (ran in the park today instead of the usual treadmill at home) it was a nice change. Then took care of some errands. When I got back had lunch and made pie dough for apple pies I want to make tomorrow, it's chilling in the fridge now. Soon I will go pick up my little princess from preschool and try to incorporate some apples in a savory way into our dinner tonight. I'm thinking stuffed chicken breast with apples and brie, it just sounds yummy to me.
-
Other than apple pie and apple crisp and apple sauce does anyone have suggestion of yummy recipes savory or sweet to make with apples? I have other things I could make with them but I would like to hear if you have any suggestions.
-
Alright everyone have a great day. And I will try to catch up on comments soon!!
-
(((((Colony)))))
You know a girl has got to keep busy somehow lol!
-
I'm off...
-
Later gators!!
♥
ALI and DAWN: I am fine with blood. As long as it is not real!(that just sounds wrong! :) )So Dexter should be fine for me. Just need to find time when kids aren't home!
I am going to write down all the vitamin info. Great info everyone!!! Daphnee, do you buy liquid Vit.D at the health food store? Never seen it liquid before. Can you give children those vitamins in like a half dose? Sorry so many questions!
On Saturday I went to the zoo to see the baby elephant that was born last month. It was amazing the crowds that come out to see baby animals!! Long lines like at Disney. I took some pictures and made a video. You have to get to the end to see baby Zuri (she is so cute!!) Maybe I have a new flu? The elephant flu? ;o)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GYJp_v9too0
ANT--More Mr. G if you please! He is so cute!! How big is he supposed to get? Hope you are doing okay and plugging away!!! ♥♥♥♥
ERIN- Thank you for the Zoo pictures. For those of us who don't get out it's a wonderful gift to us. Much appreciated. ♥ ♥ ♥
Come out and play ANT! If life is good, let's celebrate WITH you. If life is crappy, we'll carry you.
I say we get "Team ANT" shirts. :)
Thank you Teri. And yep, I got them all back instantly. xo
Erin, I'm sooo glad you're feeling better today. Thank you for taking us to the zoo! :)
~~~~~~~~~~VITAMIN D POST........BORING TO SOME!! LOL!!! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
.
ERIN ♥ ..You can get the liquid at the health food store if you choose that method. Children can be on 1000 IU a day too... but I guess you can always check with their doctors...though even they might not be up on all the current info!! Not all Drs really follow nutrition etc though I would hope that is changing as they see their old ways are not working!
.
I know you are vegetarian..but are you vegan? The Vit D3 is not vegan..it comes from sheep lanolin!! :) Vit D2 is plant based but not as "strong" so needs to be a stronger dosage about 1800 IU. If taking D3 you only need 1000 IU unless deficient but a blood test would show that. It is best to be taken balanced out with calcium and magnesium as well.
.
An interesting medical fact is that VIT D is more effective in building strong bone than calcium but you don't hear that too much. If you only increase and take a high dose calcium it interferes with VIT D conversion and may also actually increase cancer risks as your body will not be absorbing the VIT D that it needs in the right way....If I explained that right!
.
Getting sun is of course the best way..but most do not get out enough and also in winter months.. sun is not strong enough most areas to provide enough.
.
Now..if it only worked for headaches!! LOL!!! Oh I can talk about it and I know all the virtues of it...but I can't take it myself..I have the weirdest system on the planet anymore and can't ingest most things! :( But working on it.... For all you "normal" people though ..you should have no problems..but as always can check with your doctor!
((((((((NEBLINA)))))))) OMG!! all the apples sound so good... You can juice them too mixed with a lemon.. Sweet and natural and delicious lemonade ! LOL You are going to be busy! xoxo
Hi there (((KRISTEN))) right there above me!! I hope you are doing well today!! I am off to visit the zoo now too.. :) Oh boy..a day out!! LOL!!
This weekend flew by so quickly it's almost like it never happened! Jeez Louize.
.
Nancy - thanks for the TLJ update.
.
((TLJ)) Love you, hope you're feeling better soon!!!
.
We're enjoying an extended summer here in MN - temps in the 80's still over the weekend. Can't complain! But, I'm ready for fall, my favorite season.
(((((ANT)))))
(((((COLONY)))))
Wow! What a great start to my day! Seeing you all here.
Erin, the babies were so cute. The elephant sooo cute. Thank you so much for sharing that vid.
Love all the nutrition talk. its like health porn for me. ;)
Nebby, Erin, Steph - Thinking of all your little ones in school. hoping it is a nice experience for them.
Dawn, posting on pain med is the best. no remorse because we forget 2 minutes later. ;)
Im so hiding behind Ginger right now. Chicken soup is the way. Stay away from me with that needle. If i wanted a little prick today i would have gone to the dentist.
Kristen - I take it as a good sign that Ant hasnt posted. and that he is out living life to its fullest. Beside i think Mr Grrl took over the blog and he seems a little shy.
Donna! We are too. Its awesome. tomorrow is expected to be 90 degrees! today is 80. woohoo.
We are doing garden cleanup.. Okay Jack is. but ive been shelling peas like crazy. so fun with the dogs. They love the peas.
Teri - I wish you were here. i am so in the mood for a good project. George and I used to projects together. Its so comforting to know i have a new project buddy. Man i wish we lived closer. With all this wood from the sawmill, we could make anything.
Kitty!!!! ♥♥♥♥
TLJ! Thinking of you. ♥
ERIN...thanks so much for the trip to the zoo. I didn't get to mine this year and really missed it...until now! Zuri is adorable!
DAWN...that's exactly what I did when the bread was ready! I wish I could have sent you a piece with warm dripping butter!!! Soooo good.
LOL
DEE-I thought you were going somewhere else with the little prick dentist comment,lol!
That baby elephant was the first born in (I think) 30 years at this zoo. She is quite the princess! :)
Oh wow, I went to get my 6 year old at school today and waited for him to come out. He never did and so I went inside, looked in the office, they had not seen him. Checked the cafeteria, playground, then went to his classroom. His backpack was still hanging on the hook. I finally find his teacher and she says, "I bet you are wondering where your son is?" I am like, DUH! But I just say yes, she tells me that he left school after the last recess with another student and she found out when calling that boys mom to find him. This other boys mom says he came home with my son. At this point, I just want to find my son so I ask where this boys house is. Right across the street from the school. Long story short, I get my son back, but now I am SO MAD!!! The teacher should have called me and told me my son was not at school. This other boys mom should have sent my son back to school (if not walked him back!) OR she should have at least called me to tell me my son was at her house. My son should not have done it in the first place, but considering how he feels about school, I doubt it took much convincing for him to leave. Just freaked out and not sure exactly what to do so it does not happen again. Am I crazy as a mom to assume that most moms would have brought the boys back to school? They are 6, not 16.
ALI--Thank you!! That was such good info to know about the different kinds of Vit D. I am not vegan, just vegetarian, but I am allergic to lanolin so that would have been baaaad! ( sorry, couldn't help myself! :) )
NEBBY...so good to see you here. I miss you! I'm so glad that little Emma is responding so well to pre-school.
I think I had the same senior moment that Dawn did about the price of apples! LOL Your stuffed chicken breast with applies and brie sounds wonderful! I'll be right over!!! LOL
DEE...I have the perfect project that we could have done next year. I have to put carpeting in the basement again. I won't do it myself I'll have to get it done. It's too big of a job for me to tackle alone! I miss having a project buddy too. I'm already imagining the possibilities if we lived near each other LOL
TERI- I'm so glad you enjoyed your bread. I was going to phone you now for a few min, but I'm waiting for a call to change an appt.
.
ERIN- I think the Mom and the Teacher should told maybe by the principal or something. I know you are very diplomatic, but me I'd blow my lid. I agree with you if a 6 yr old comes home with another kid you take them back to school. WTH??? I'd be furious too.
.
DEE- I thought you were going to the dentist today? What's going on? It shouldn't be this painful for so long!
ERIN...I don't have kids but I think it was totally wrong that you weren't informed either by the school or the other boy's mom that Liam wasn't in school! I can only imagine how terrified you must have felt when you didn't know where he was. I think that you should call the principal of the school and tell her in no uncertain terms that this was totally unacceptable and should never happen again! I'd probably send a letter as well because I always like to have these things on file for future reference.
I'm curious, do you know the other boy's mother? I'm actually shocked that this happened in this day and age with everything that you hear in the news!
I'm so glad that Liam is home safe and sound. &hearts&hearts
Hi Dawn. I'm looking up at you! LOL
Mrs Bean your story of your son was de ja vu for me
when my son went to kindergarten (was walking distance to grandparents house), he didn't come home we called the police, missing child report we went to the school, the teacher said she thought he might have gone home with one of the other students, the school wasn't allowed to give us the phone numbers of the other kids but, the teacher could call them, and she did. she finally located him, got the address and we went and picked him up. Turns out the other kid's Mom asked him if it was okay to be there, and my son lied to her said he had permission from his Mom. You know he got verbally and physically punished by his parents and grandparents but he never did that again either.
Erin! OMG! I am not even a worry wart and i would have freaked. I cant imagine the scare you must have had. I would be in the Principals office with that teacher and any other who are supposed to be in charge of him. It is the schools responsibility to let you know if he is not in class. especially at that age!
I would make so much noise at that school that they would be afraid to let the children out of their sight. i mean they should be doing that already. How can we be expected to send 6 yr olds to school if no one is watching them. I would also call that parent and say if it should happen again to PLEASE call you. and the school. You have every right to be upset. i would be breaking out a can of.. well you know....
Dawn - Dentist is closed today. i called another dentist and they said it sounds like piece of bone or tooth trying to come out of side of gum. debating to let it alone or get dentist to remove it. not real keen on either. Im seeing home surgery in my future.. if only i could convince jack to hold the flashlight.. He isnt cooperating..
Thanks everyone for confirming I am not nuts! I am going to write a letter tonight to the principal and his teacher just expressing why it upset me not to be called and expressing that if it happens again and they don't call me, I will call the police. I really was freaking out or otherwise would have thought clearly enough to do it right then. I know this other mom knew my son shouldn't be there, because school was still going on. NANCY--when I was 6, we lived in Ventura and the school was all open. The classroom doors just opened to the outside and my house was across two streets, but only really like a block and 1/2 away. One day I wanted to go home so bad and the door was right there so I made a run for it. I made it past the teacher and on out the door, past the principals office, but he saw me and decided to give chase. He chased me half way home before giving up and when I got home the phone was ringing and he was telling my mom that he had tried to catch me. Needless to say, haven't shared that story with my 6 year old! I got punished too!
DEE- No home surgery for you!!!! I'm glad Jack isn't going to go along with you on that one. You will get an infection!!
.
ERIN- I am glad you will be writing that letter tonight. You have to protect your son!
DEE...I agree with DAWN that you shouldn't try home surgery on your own!
ERIN...I'm glad that you're writing the letter. Let us know what they say after they get your letter.
GoodNight Everyone. Sleep well.
DWTS- Top 3 for me tonight were Donny, Aaron, & Mark in no special order. The most painful to watch was Ashley Hamilton & Michael? (football guy) I enjoyed the show. I'm anxious to see how the woman will do tomorrow. I have a few favorites, but we'll see how they do.
DWTS- I just finished my voting online. I gave top 3 each some votes. It's the only show that lets me vote rather than texting! Ha!
**snapping gloves** ok ok all you little antlings, come out from wherever your hiding ... we haven't given all of you your shots yet.... I see you hiding.... come out come out...
come out come out wherever you are
where did Ginger go anyway, she didn't get her shot yet...hmmm....where could she be
The two nurses are here with your shots. Where is EF tonight? I've had my shot ladies.
NANCY- Ginger made chicken soup instead!! LOL! Large egg noodles and everything.
looks at Dawn... are u sure??? and where is EF?? Is that him hiding behind the couch??? And Ginger, where is she.... she is suppose to be helping here...
BTW I'm feeling a little queazy what is up with that, I had my shot...hmmm
ohh nooo not you to !!!
what do you mean "not you too?""
OH i just had some of the best soup. Jack made this pureed soup. Carrots onions, garlic, tumeric and ginger. So good! I feel so good after i eat it. Tumeric and Ginger are some of the most healing spices.
Jack also made something called harvard beets. but cut back vinegar and sugar for me. They are so good. I love this time of year cleaning out the garden. i lost out on the fresh peas though. my mouth was too sore to eat them. but i shelled for hrs only for Jack to show me big bag from store that cost 2 dollars. Doh...
ooh that soup sounds good, can I have a bowl too?
ok Nancy, I have a hunch, I'll go look in Jazzy's room, just in case she thought she could hide out there, you go check out the party room, see if she she headed that way. I'll meet you back in kitchen here in 15
Oh and there is a small line up for shots, I'll get them first, don't want them to get a draft, what with there pants down LOL hehehe
I found her apron draped on a chair
found colony kat asleep on the couch
but no sign of Ginger yet
Well she isn't in his room, but wow what a mess in there! all tho the bed looked like it wasn't made properly, could have sworn it was made... infact I made it.... Now where could she be.... we need more soup made and she needs that shot
I think I hear some noises coming from the bathroom
I'll go check there
ok you go check the bathroom, I have to sit down a min. don't feel to good here, must have eaten something that is upsetting my stomach ..
Ginger there you are!
why are you bowing to the porcelain god looking pasty?
ohhhhh... Ginger move out of the way......
With noises coming from the bathroom, my timing might not be the best to say "hello."
Good Morning! :-p
GOODMORNING EVERYONE.
I don't know if this will work or not. This is the opening number of SYTYCD- Canada. Blake McGrath choreographed this number. He came in Second on Season 1 of SYTYCD- USA. He is from Toronto Canada/LA

ALI-KAT & CRAIG- That dance if for you if you can view it from US Ali. Craig and I loved it. Naughty, but goes with Lady Gaga and her disco stick!!! LOL!

Lydia posted this yesterday about ANT on her MySpace....Just letting you know here..
.
"heard from ANT today.He's fine.Having technical issues with computer & phone.Will be in touch via blog A.S.A.P."
I apologize for my absence..Too much emotional setbacks and personal issues caused me to go down that dark hole..It has become unreal to me or pretty much reality..So many things, one thing after another..Why do u think I have a hard time BELIEVING.
.
Thankyou to all who commented on my photo's..Made me feel better...When the braces came off I wanted to take new pictures because I was not able to get any type of film/extra work/ etc with them on..Atleast I have a chance now.

Kittens! Hello!!!!!!!!
Long time no chance to keep up!
I have only read that HEIDI IS HERE!
LOVE LOVE LOVE to you Heidi!!!!!
May you be BLESSED by the power of "Aaaaaaaaaaaaah". I often need that power. Letting go or something. I have not yet figured it all out or I would wrap it up and send it to you. Please just know I care so very much.
After 3 months living away (home for 2 or 3 times to visit.... and mow the lawn), Blake got laid off and moved home Saturday. I know it isn't cool to be happy about a layoff, but he has them all the time in construction and he was emotionally and physically "done" for now. We never know what the future holds for his work, but for the last 20 years, we have always made it. I am grateful he is here, even though it means my routine that I designed for myself is now all wonky. :o) I have some hopefully NOT major scarey medical stuff coming up that starts with a doc appt this Friday and I am very grateful to not be alone right now.
I hope you are all well. I will try and read to catch up, as always.
I write cheques to people I don't know.
Oh wait..
That's called 'paying bills'.
:-P
((ANT)) Sorry you are having technical issues. Hope to see you soon.
((MrsBean)) I would have a very stern talking to with your young one. And the letter to the principal/teacher sounds like a good idea with a 'cc' to the local school board. I would also check with the local police department to see if they do any 'school visits' to teach kids about safety.
((DEE)) No home surgery. It never goes well. :-P
((Neblina)) So glad to see you posting. I'm happy that Emma likes preschool. That's at least a positive. :-)
((Ginger is up all night)) Where did you go?
((Vancouvergirl))
((Nancy/Socal))
((Tender Loving Jean))
((DAWN)) Yay for DWTS! Yay for you I mean. Because you enjoy it. :-) I would rather pick lint out of the dryer.
((DRDonna)) Good to hear you are enjoying some great weather. Fall has arrived here. The air is brisk and likes to nip. The leaves are changing & create a mosiac amongst the trees. And The Amazing Race starts in 5 days. :-P
(((Chris)))
Have an aMazing Tuesday Colony!!
Morning! ♥
(((Craig))) thank you! I am in talks with all trying to figure out exactly why no one noticed my son was not there. When I understand that, I think I will know how to make sure it does not happen again. I have had a child at this school for 8 years, so I know that it is a good school filled with caring teachers....♥
(((HEIDI))) So happy to see you! Your pictures are beautiful....and guess what? They are you!!!! Cool!! Sorry you have been struggling so much ♥
(((EMJAY))) Glad your getting your husband home! ♥
Have a great day EVERYONE!
DAWN...thanks for posting that video from SYTYCD Canada. I thought I'd taped it but didn't so I missed it last week! Blake is crazy. I love him! LOL
I agree with you about DWTS...My top 3 were Donny (even though I don't like him), Mark (sure looks different from when he did the Crow) and Aaron. Honorable mention goes to Louie. I was very disappointed with Ashley. Michael is the football guy :) Looking forward to tonight. So much to watch! Yikes. LOL
MORNING EVERYONE.
HEIDI...So good to see you here! I love your pics. Don't be a stranger. We all care about you.
EMJAY...LOA'ing positive results on Friday! Nothing but good things are ahead for you! Enjoy the time with your hubby.
CRAIG...too funny about writing cheques to people you don't know! Ain't that the truth!!! LOL
ANT...hope the technical difficulties are fixed soon.
MRS. BEAN...good luck dealing with Liam's school. I know that everything will work out. It might not be a bad idea to talk to your little guy about not leaving the school grounds too. Craig was right about that. &hearts&hearts&hearts
ALI...what did you think about DWTS last night?
DEE...how's the tooth? Do you have an appointment with the dentist today? BTW, that soup sounds wonderful! Yummmmmy!
TLJ...hope you are able to come back soon. You are missed!
JAX...hope the move is going smoothly. Come back soon. I miss you!
HI CHRIS, NEBBY, BEDBUG, COLONYKAT, RENIN77, NANCY, GINGER, VANCOUVERGIRL, DR. DONNA, KRISTEN, LOIS, SHANNON&hearts, JANINE2, MALEA, COLEEN (hope you're having a wonderful trip), BECK, STEPH, NANA, HEADY, JAZZY, PAM (how are you? I haven't heard from you lately), KANDYED, AND ANYONE I MISSED......
HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY EVERYONE. I'm off to do some yard work and then will watch some Dexter episodes. DAWN, you've got me addicted! LOL
Today is Day 1 of the Wellnes Challenge at my office. 42 days to go, my vow is to walk every day (and hopefully after 42 days it will be more of a habit than an intermittent activity!). I'm heading up the team in my office so that will help, too, with accountability. Whew! So, I power walked to work this morning. Fortunately we have a casual office dress code, since I'll be sporting Nike running shoes and cute matching jackets for the next month and a half! :o)
.
((CRAIG)) I love your description of fall coming - it's on the way here, too, I just kind of wish it would hurry up! LOL And, I can't wait for the AMAZING RACE to start again, it's an Emmy Winner for a reason, right? ;)
.
6. To forgive the mistakes of your past and to strive to greater achievements in the future.
.
This can be challenging, but it's such a good feeling to truly forgive yourself for things you "punish" yourself for over and over again. I have some pretty exciting "future achievements" in the works and I'm really looking forward to the feeling of accomplishing them.
.
HI HEIDI!!!
Ginger enters back kitchen mudroom accompanied by two hunky EMT/ERT and a quite upset chicken. She is soaking wet, covered in a big bright orange Snuggie.
.
The blonde hunky EMT asks her where they can help her to lay down at? Ginger is torn between The Colony Couch or the nice warm bed with the big masculine furniture she loves to sleep in. Hmmmm...she doesn't know who's about this time of day so she asks them to help her to the couch. But, first they must lock that damn chicken in the pen in the back kitchen, she tells them.
.
Safely tucked into her Snuggie on the couch, the two dreamy rescuers sit with her in a calming manner to hear what they know will be a tale to beat all tales.
.
But first she needs a cuppa coffee and a Wunderbar to keep her strength up! She looks over to Vanny's chair by the fire and wonders why that bucket is there?
.
.
.
To be cont.
The Adventures of Ginger! LOVE it! Cant wait to hear more.
Emjay - You have the most beautiful spirit. I LOVE who you are. There is a really special light about you. You have an amazing attitude.
ALI!!! I have been writing! what are we going to do about this mail issue? arggghh.. I need my Ali fix.
Teri - I have been dreaming about projects we could do. OMG. come on. We have a shop with every tool you can dream of and endless supply of wood! Now i just need energy and partner in crime. ;)
oh i tired out.. Donna, Dawn,ERin.. Love you guys...
Here’s another random story, a few moments in my life, hopefully funny to more than just me.
Years ago I worked in the office of a landscape company. Sometimes I would be called to come drive a truck for a crew that no one had a license. We worked all across the Atlanta area, in and around it, no place was off limits as long as they paid their bill.
One day we were in a “less than ideal” part of town (drugs, prostitution, illegal activity of all sorts), which can be unsettling – if one is paying attention. I wasn’t. I wanted something to drink and so did my boss. Practically skipping to be out of the office and in the sunshine (la, la, la), I walked across the street to the convenience store. I said an obnoxiously cheery “HEY!” to the motley crew (a few obviously talking to themselves and needing a bath in a bad way) hanging around outside. I walked in (la, la, la), I got our drinks (hmmmm, do I want Coke or Sprite) and went to pay. (What the h*ll!?) The cashier was behind BULLET PROOF GLASS and had a strange look on his face as I paid. Well, alrighty then. Back to la, la, la and across the street I go. I get in the truck with my boss. She is a 5’4 “, 95lbs soaking wet, lady who thinks she is a 6’4”, 250lb man. I’m 5”8”, lots heavier, and can hold my own but I’m still a girl. Anyway, she had forgotten something so we had to go back in to the apartment complex they were working in – a “gated” community (gates falling down, obviously not functional) with one officer (maybe the same size as my boss) watching inbound and outbound traffic that included people in vehicles and on foot. We are about to go through the gate, I’m chatting away and continuing to be oblivious to the possibility of any danger or any need to be more aware. Her face changes and she slams the truck in to park. I turn and see the gate officer being beaten by several men. My boss is yelling that she is calling the police, she pulls out a gun, and I fling the door open and start to get out. There is no doubt in my mind that I would have been in the middle of that mess if it weren’t for the fact that my seatbelt was still on. The moments it took me to get my seatbelt off gave me time to realize that it was 8-10 men, BIG and tall men, men with bats and other weapons, and a crowd that saw nothing wrong with just watching it all. (Um, I think I’ll stay INSIDE the truck!) My boss opens her door like she is getting out. I tell her “oh no you don’t!” so she yells at them again that the police are on their way and they stop. We wait a minute to see if we can help the officer, he assures us he is fine (obviously not) and we go on into the complex as the police arrive. Why we didn’t have to stay to give a statement or anything I don’t know but I was really happy to get out of there!
This story (like the lipstick story) still makes me laugh as the visual of me reacting like I was going jump in the middle and save that man is just too funny. Big, bad, Kathy to the rescue! Lol
Back to the CK Couch for me. Glad to see everybody here. Hugs all around.
One of my favorite jokes:
.
A farmer wanted to have his hens serviced, so he went to the market looking for a rooster. He was hoping he could get a special rooster - one that would service all of his many hens. When he told this to the market vendor, the vendor replied: “Oh, yes, I have just the rooster for you. Henry here is the horniest rooster you will ever see!”
.
He led the farmer over to a special coop, under a spotlight, where there was a glittery sign proclaiming that this was ‘The WORLD’s HORNIEST ROOSTER!!’ So, although the price was higher than the farmer wanted to pay, he decided it was worth the risk to see if it were true. Before setting him loose in the hen house, though, he gave Henry a little pep talk: “Henry”, he said, “I'm counting on you to be able to take care of business. I know I have a lot of hens, but with a reputation like yours, hopefully you can keep up.” And without a word, Henry strutted into the henhouse.
.
Henry was as fast as he was furious, mounting each hen like a thunderbolt. There was much squawking and many feathers flying, until Henry had finished having his way with each hen. But Henry didn't stop there.
.
Henry went into the barn and mounted all of the horses, one by one, and still at the same frantic pace. Then he went to the pig house, where he did the same. The cows? More of the same. The goats? Didn’t stand a chance. The farmer, watching all of this with disbelief cried out, “Stop, Henry!! You'll f*$# yourself to death!!” But Henry continued, seeking out each farm animal in the same manner.
.
The farmer grew weary, and headed inside to bed. The next morning, he looked out and saw Henry lying there on his lawn. His legs were up in the air, his eyes rolled back…buzzards were circling in the sky. The farmer walked up to Henry saying, “Oh you poor thing, look what you did, you've gone and killed yourself. I warned you little buddy.”
.
“Shhhhhhh”, Henry whispered with one feather gesturing skyward, “they’re about to land!!”
Loved that story Kat. So funny about being oblivious to all around and assuming you could stop it. Love your first instinct. braver than I.
I used to think i was 10 ft tall and could take on anyone. I walked friends home late at night in Vancouver and took shortcuts without any fear. I always thought i could either talk them out of it and if not i could take them. dilusional but lucky and glad i didnt live my life in fear.
I still feel 10 ft tall. and cant say i fear alot, but then only run ins i have these days are with cows. LOL that reminds me. The cow that was giving me dirty look on my hike the other day turns out to be not so friendly Bull known for charging. Oh its on now!!
Kat - you snuck in on me! Awesome story!! Loved your description of going in to the convenience store (la la la) LOL!!!
KAT-- I thought you were going to say the convenience store was being robbed while you just la la la'd buying your drinks. :) Glad you had your seat belt on and didn't jump right out!
GINGER-- Lucky you to get 2 hunky helpers! Dying to know what happened to the other chicken! ( or maybe I don't want to know. lol!) Rest of the story please! :)
Just taking a random poll if anyone wants to answer ( and if anyone is just reading and not posting you could just post your answer or jump right in ) Just trying to determine something that won't make sense except in my mind, but if you want to answer: what is your favorite color and your favorite number?
ALI and NEBLINA--I was telling my dad about the vitamin D info because he had surgery for a skin cancer today and he was telling me that he had really low vitamin D a few years ago and has been taking a supplement ever since and then he tells me, "I left my big bottle of it at your house when I was just there, your welcome to use it." ( love dads!) It was plant based and liquid....score for me, lol! :)
Off to get ready for my date night with my favorite boyfriend, Mr. Sanyo ( isn't he exotic sounding? )
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
Oh dear Donna!! Too funny! I have to admit I will never say cockadoodledoo without thinking of Henry ( was he named after Henry Miller?) :)
DR DONNA, COLONY KAT Thanks for the stories tonight. Just great! Kat I never heard the lipstick story I don't think? Could you post your blogspot thingy here please. The link!! I couldn't think what I wanted to say.
.
ERIN- COLOR- BLUE
NUMBER -7
.
Have fun with Mr Sanyo tonight. I'm with Mr Sony! LOL!
.
I've been like that la la la a couple of times and my husband freaks out! Once in Martinque and I was the only white lady in the washroom in a park. We'd bought a sandwich and a drink. I can understand a bit of French as in the convent it was French. So I'm flossing my teeth as I had braces on etc so he thought they'd killed me in there!!! LOL! He sent someone in to find me. Too funny. Of course you all know he's black so it's not racist he was just scared for me and also with the language barrier. Oh, the things we do in life.
Good Evening ANT and ANTlings
.
DAWN- I now have DEXTER 2nd. season!

Dawn, Ali and Craig- this is ALL your fault! You have now got me hooked, lined and sinker! You little stinkers!
.
I've have a mild migraine all day and I don't want it to get worse, so I'm getting off the computer for tonight. Hopefully by tomorrow I can write some more escapades of
"The NBC ANT Colony Towers" story line.

Erin - Favorite color changes daily. but Blue i think. and of course the wonderful number 4.
GINGER- You make me laugh so much that you are on Season 2!! I told Shaf! LOL!! Teri is watching it now too. It's so good isn't it? What a terrible show to say how great it is, but as Ali-Kat says it's great acting and writing. Another show you guys should watch is called DAMAGES with Glenn Close. It's another one you have to start Season 1 show 1. It's so great too!!!
.
TERI- I wrote you a note about voting. I shared my votes between Kelly, Joanna and Mya. I will get stickter with myself as they get down, but right now I have a few favorites, but not which one I want to win yet. I must admit I sort of got tears in my eyes with Kelly and her Mom & Dad. Too funny with Louis going to Ozzy and Ozzy yelling- SHARON!!! LOL!
NANCY- Yeah the night owls are going to be back? How are you liking DWTS? I taped SYTYCD tonight as it's auditions. I also taped NCIS & NCIS-LA. Hubby likes to watch those so sometimes save them for the weekend. We watched CSI Miami from last night before DWTS. Have you finished all the flu shots around here yet? Ha!
DEE- Did you watch DWTS tonight with the ladies? I hope you watched them too. They are doing a special dance tomorrow for Patrick Swayze. I hope it's great. I was also glad to see Jermaine Jackson last night and Latoya tonight at the show. I was to go see THIS IS IT with Michael, but it sounds like such a hassle to get tickets.
Dawn I love DWTS and SYTYCD equally
I like the same 3 girls
I'ts officially Autumn but you couldn't prove it by me, at noon it was 107 degrees
comes onto the living room after searching all over for Ginger. Stops, looks at the couch, a sleeping Ginger, but.... ohhhh noo the bucket...did she see it???? and whoooo is that guy sleeping by her??? Is that a uniform he has on, well partially on? why is it unbuttoned? ....
stumbles into the room clutching gut
do we have saltine crackers in the pantry? I need some ASAP
Well my first DWTS injury. I quit watching SYTYCD after that krumping incident. Who knew ballroom could be dangerous. Its that damn cha-cha. I figured out that their high heels helped with the movement so tried it on ball of my foot. did you know you can twist your ball?? Im a little nervous to watch Heroes now, in case i get idea i can fly or cool down my coffee with one icy blow.
lol Dee You twisted your what???? I must have read that wrong! LOL better put my glass's on and read that again LOL
oh Dee...don't make me laugh I think I may puke
BTW did I hear EMT and a cute one at that? where can I get one?
yup that's what she said, she twisted her ball !!!! lol and now she wants to fly, ummmm Ginger we had better keep those EMT guys around, we just may need them.
I know right? Who knew you could sprain your ball? I just heard all the men all the blog cringe. not that ball.. Im determined im going to learn to shake it, hopefully before i break it.
OMG Mya was incredible!! Len is whacked. I cant imagine anyone doing better on their first dance.
That Tom Delay guy was creepy. hope he goes. but he did well in the group dance. I dont think he was the worst. but gives me the willies...
... now what kind of trouble is the night crew getting into?
who us???? get into trouble!!!nahhhhhh, besides at least we don't go around spraining our balls LOL

Thank you Nancy! Maybe that hot cocoa will lure Ami back to play. I miss our animal specialist here. (and the real trivia queen).
Have a good checkup Coco!
I finally went to dentist. doh guess i should have sooner. Dry socket and bone chip is the issue. As i puff on a cig and drink my coffee, i wonder how that could have possibly happened. ;)
Vangirl - you hurt my jaw last night. with all the grinning you had me doing. It hurts so good. :D
33.9 celcius today! Woohoo!
Dee
could you tell us all the virtues of Tumeric? I have a big package of it but not sure how or what to use it in cooking, give me some ideas please and anyone else who might have recipes , please jump in
DR Donna – glad you enjoyed my story. Great joke! You and your achievements are awesome.
MrsBean – I hope you enjoyed your evening with Mr. Sanyo. I feel like a sl*t. I “spent time” with Mr. Panasonic, Mr. Samsung, AND Mr. Sony. I hope your dad is done dealing with his skin cancer. Fav color is purple, fav number is 8. As far as my story, it was only after everything and putting it all in context did I really “see” what was all around. I can be so naïve. I try not to spend so much time in “la, la, la” land. ;-) Holy Carp about your son and his school!
Teri – I have a feeling that you and Dee could do some serious do-it-yourself projects together. I hope Coco had a great visit with the dr.
Nancy – White Mocha, no whip, no foam OR No sugar added hot chocolate made with skim milk.
TLJ – big gentle hugs, thinking of you
Steph – I hope the air conditioning issues are fixed by now and that you are enjoying the school year so far.
Pammie – sorry the Dolphins didn’t win, I was hoping for ya! xo
Heidi – I KNOW how hard it can be to come out, especially when things are bad. You don’t owe anybody an apology though. Try to remember that there are a lot of people around here that would be willing to sit with you, hold your hand, whatever. Believing…..I wish I had grand words of advice on that for you…
~Hello Colony~
Wishing you all a Happy Second Day of FALL
~~~
Gingerlicious – hope the migraine is better, keep writing your story, too funny.
Dee – you are too funny, something tells me you can handle ANY bull coming your way, lol. I don’t know that my first instinct was brave or s t u p i d, lol. How’s things with your teeth?
Dawn – sorry about the headaches that keep you in bed. I’m glad your husband sent someone in, just in case, lol. I posted the lipstick story the other day but have now posted it to my blogspot, too. www.colonykatblog.blogspot.com
Craig – I write checks to people I don’t know, too. Now if I can just stop caring if they clear….
Emjay – I hope Fri goes well and that you are enjoying even minute with The Blake.
Vancouvergirl, Kristen, Lois, Shannon, Beck, ElliotsFriend, Ali-Kat, ScrappysMom, QueenJanine, Neblina, Kandyed, Jazzy, Darrell, Heady, Chris, Bedbug, Ami, observANTS – “Hey Ya’ll!”
I know there are several of you that know and have been talking about health, holistic, alternative stuff. I have a couple of questions open to any and all who would like to share an opinion.
What’s your opinion about flu and pneumonia shots? My chiropractors are SO against shots and now I’m a little confused.
What’s your opinion about light boxes for “seasonal affective disorder” and the like?
Thanks!
KAT - I always think of Rosie saying "It's a LAMP" - - the fact that for her, the light boxes wouldn't work. I used to think that, but for me, I think they might! If I close my eyes and just feel the bright warm light, I could imagine being on a beach somewhere. Ahhh, feels so good!
COLONY KAT- IMHO I always get the flu shot every year and the pneumono vax every 5 yrs I think. I have never had side affects of any kind and I haven't been sick with cold or flu in I don't know how long. I always have my headaches and that's enough for me.
COLONY KAT- My hubby does not take the he shots and had severe cold last winter for weeks. I washed my hands, washed my hands and never even got a touch of it.
CK...order noted
I never get a flu shot, my Mom always gets one and 1 out of every 3 years she gets the flu anyway, whereas I have had the flue once in 13 yrs
on the other hand because of my cancer history I am high risk for pneumonia they say and I did get a shot for that
COLONY KAT- I went to the link and it says that there is no findings for that blogspot? I did the www and without. Do you have the link?
Turmeric is a valuable chi regulating herbs that helps digestion, regulates liver function, regulates blood sugar and when taken daily over a period of three months will effectively regulate menstrual problems.
It is used as a blood purifier, and stimulant. It can be applied both internally and externally to heal wounds, relieve pains in the limbs, break up congestion and restorative after blood loss at child birth.
Kicharee
This is one of the most satisfying and healing foods. It can be taken as a complete food for detoxification, purification, weight loss, weak digestion or recovery from illness. You may modify it as you wish, adding vegetables, using chicken stock, adding fish, and so on. However, it is pretty complete unto itself.
Kicharee (Indian Dahl and Rice)
You will need the following ingredients:
• Split yellow mung beans (dahl)
• White Indian basmati rice (or other white rice)
• Ghee (clarified butter)
Spices are important to kicharee and have their own healing properties:
• Ground turmeric
• Ground coriander seed
• Ground cumin seed
• Sea or rock salt
The final product will be very soupy and not like normal rice and beans. You can choose to make it thicker or thinner by using more or less water in the beginning.
In a saucepan, cook one part rice and mung beans (can be a quarter to a half cup of each) in 7 to 10 parts water until rice is tender.
In a separate large skillet, heat a level tablespoon of ghee. Add and sautee ¼ teaspoon each of turmeric, ground coriander seed, ground cumin seed and ¼ to ½ teaspoon of salt.
This should only takes a few minutes to lightly brown so that the wonderful aroma of the spices begins to arise. Then mix in the precooked mung beans and rice.
Hey Kat! So about flu shots and innoculations. i myself am not big on them at all. but i think it very personal decision. I have not had any shots since grade 5. I am told i have to have hepb shot but i didnt. I would think it depends on your environment alot and your beliefs. If others are getting the shot, then they can become carriers so if exposed to lots of people, maybe not a bad plan.
Also like Nancy said. people who getting the flu could be fatal to are good candidates for the shot. but its not for me.
About the light. Without a doubt, it is proven to help. Just think of how different you feel when in walmart with the florenscent lights or at home with nice lamp on. Im all about ambience. if bad lighting im grouchy. We know how different colors can make us feel. lighting is the same.
If you ever lived in a place that has minimal light in the winter you will agree light makes all the difference. It is scientifically proven that light boxes work. Like anything there are cheap imitations though so have to get right spectrum.
At the mental health clinic, all the counsellors have light boxes on their desks and they say it has helped them immensely and their patients.
Dawn - I'm not sure why that isn't working for you. I'm not sure I know what I am doing though. Try this
http://www.colonykatblog.blogspot.com/
Colony Kat- Thank you. It let me on it and then said I had already subscribed to Mental Gymnastics?? I'm losing my mind!!!
ALI-KAT-Thinking of you. ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
thank you Dee I need to write that recipe down
Just wanted to stop by and say that I couldn't get on here in the daytime because I had no work computer and oddly, now that's it's fixed, it WILL NOT let me on this site. It's not just that it's been wiped clean and I need to do the logging on again ... when I come to this site, I get an error message that my browser is shutting down completely and it asks if I want to send Microsoft the error message. It happened about 12 times in a row today. I give. You may not see much from me. Pretty frustrating.
See most of you on MySpace, I guess.
BEDBUG- I got on this site, but when I clicked comments I go an error message over and over again too!!!
.
DEE- I thought that's what it might be as my husband had that too. Silly to wait so long in pain. After a certain amount of time go back to the dentist!!! LOL!
.
COLONY KAT- I have not read the lipstick story yet as I've been busy watching DANCE shows!! LOL! It still says mental gymnatics though rather than colonykatblogspot??? I'll try to read it tonight and I'll let you know.
COLONY KAT- Yes, I read the lipstick story the other day. I forgot that you posted it. Wonderful and funny!!!
I feel bloaty, my ankles are swollen, and if I'm not imagining it my bosoms have grown and I have a hankering for some ice cream and a pickle LOL
Van do you still have your bucket handy?
lifts her head from the bucket... get your own!... and ewww what is that smell in the kitchen... can't figure out why I'm so nauseated, not like me, and food, ewww..... must be the flu, but.... ohhh look at Nancy there, she sure looks like she packed on a couple of lbs. ... maybe she is also retaining water, like i think i am.... ohhh where is that bucket.....
oh, what do suppose we have?
speaking of lbs...you should talk
maybe we caught that flu going around.. did u finish giving out the shots?.... and I'm retaining water !! I haven't added any weight, not like you.... btw where is Ginger, is she still praying to the porcelain gods!!....ohhhh the bucket please ohhhh.....
oh my.. im gonna have to assume you ladies got the pregnancy bug. I hear once you get it you have it for life. no shots for that one..
I just watched dwts. The tribute to Patrick Swayze was great. Oh and the Lion King part. I Have to go see Lion King. That is now in my plans. Craig! Maybe i can see if its in Calgary and we could go.. That would be fun. I never want to go to the city. but now im motivated.
Bedbug - There were alot of issues with one of the Microsoft updates. If you get a good tech they will be familiar with most issues and can fix them quickly. If a techs first solution is to format, then get a new tech. That is last line of defense not first. Most issues like that need a couple adjustments in the registry and you will be fine.
Windows 7 is coming out, so Microsoft is not repairing Vista anymore. Apparently Windows 7 will fix most of the issues. of course there will be new ones
Dawn - Hope you are having a headache free night. ♥
Nancy - I really like Kicharee alot. It is said to be the most healing food in Ayurvedic and good for so many things. Arthritis is one of them. i didnt list names because most Eastern medicine doesnt put titles to illnesses in the same way as West.
Like they wouldnt say to use something for hepc. They would use something to improve liver qi. Eastern medicine is holistic. Covering how the who system works together. unlike my old doc who would say, one issue per appt, when obvious they were all related. I hope you like it.
DEE- Did they take the bone fragments out of your gum? How are you feeling now? I'm up worried about Ali-Kat, but got an email middle of the night. Tests for her in am. ♥ ♥
♥ ♥ ♥
-drive-by-
honk honk!
CHRIS- I want more than a drive by??? How are you doing please?? Hugs, ♥ ♥ ♥
MORNING EVERYONE.
NANCY...thanks for the hot chocolate. It was just what I needed! Yummmmmmm
DEE...that's exactly what I had a few years back when I had a back molar pulled. Dry socket and bone chip. It was Christmastime and of course my dentist was away so I ended up using Vodka to try to dull the pain. On the dry socket not ingested, although I always though ingesting it would have worked better! LOL What did they do for it? I still will get a bone chip trying to escape from time to time.
COLONYKAT...Coco did really well at the vet. He does have a minor ear infection that I have to put in drops but otherwise he's in tip top shape!
GINGER...I hope you're feeling better today.
DEE...I have tumeric at home but don't know how much to take on a daily basis???? Can I just sprinkle it over my food with each meal?
Have a great day everyone. Love to all.
DWTS- The people I thought should go home did!! How did everyone enjoy the Patrick Swayze tribute? I loved Tony & Cheryl.
.
Survivor tonight- Somoa!!! I hope they get rid of the guy who lies!! I know wishful thinking,but he is so awful!! Jeff calls him Evil!!!!
NANCY- LOVE the ice cold POG!! Malea is in Hawaii drinking it right now!
Morning Everyone.
Teri - Turmeric is very staining so be careful with that. It is not the kind of spice you use everyday. unless you cook alot of eastern food. You may use it in things you would put curry in. but that recipe i gave is healthiest ever. you can add it to some soups. it has distinct flavor that kind of dictates foods it will go with. Me giving recipes? pretty funny. i dont cook but Nebby and Ali are very knowledgeable about nutrition so maybe could name a few recipes. or explain how the spice is used better.
Teri, Dawn -I am confused about tooth. I heard dry socket is extremely painful. im not in extreme pain. just more of constant ache. and dentist wasnt concerned about bone chip. The hole where tooth was doesnt hurt. it is base of gum that hurts and is swollen. Dentist packed it with clove stuff. but no real difference without. plus it fell out in a few hours. doh. im hoping it will just heal on its own now. not much i can do, i dont think.
Teri - I am seriously considering Tequila rinse. I bet i would get hammered off just that. so funny how i can barely stand the thought of alcohol now, when before it was all i thought of. Good to know it is possible.
DAWN...I just finished watching DWTS and thought the right two people were sent home. I loved the tribute to Patrick Swayze especially when they had Tony and Cheryl do it the way that it was done in Dirty Dancing!
I also thought the right two people were sent home on SYTYCD Canada. The top 10 should be really exciting! I can't wait.
Nancy - who am I kidding, lol, you can just let my standing order be the White Mocha.
I hope everybody is having a great day. Hugs all around.
hello gang i missed you all and i must say i had a blast in europe it went so fast and my son made me so happy too bad i couldnt bottle the feelings of happiness i got being there but i must say glad to be home in the fall in maine i will post picts. on myspace later i wish you all happiness and all your prayers be answered, coleen
Welcome home Coleen. Glad you got back safe and sound. Looking forward to the pics.
DEE...thanks for the info on tumeric. I have taken down the recipe that you posted. &hearts&hearts
DWTS was great last night, My 2 to go were the ones that went, didn't take a rocket scientist, they were bad dancers
and the entire tribute to Patrick was super, I really liked Tony's kiss up to heaven it was a nice touch
My son is out for a surprise visit to his Dad for his birthday tomorrow, I had lunch with him on the sly today, he will surprise Dad at the door tomorrow for lunch and a movie while I am out with my Red Hat Ladies doing a topsy turvy lunch
I forgot to update you, TLJ called (with help from Corey) she misses us all something terrible, and wants to get back to writing. But she is still confused a lot of the time and tired, they are planning to move her to a psychiatric hospital, they will be better at adjusting/changing/monitoring her psych drugs than a regular hospital's staff, her liver function tests are improved. If you want to send cards send them to her home address and Corey will take them to her, he spends as much time as he can with her
NANCY- Thanks for the update on TLJ. I hope your husband has a nice birthday tomorrow with your son. Great surprise!
COLEEN- I'm glad you had a nice visit with your son. Let us know when you post the pictures on myspace please.
Y'All have a great weekend
Lots to watch on tv again tonight! Have a great evening everyone.
Happy Birthday to Nancy's hubby!
Happy Birthday John!
It's almost Saturday morning - yayyyyyyy! That means cartoon time! Yayyyyy! Wait… no it doesn’t anymore.
I just want to be a kid sometimes. On the other hand I wouldn’t be able to play my music this loudly without hearing someone in my family bitch… so in that respect it’s fun to be older.
Such activity going on here! Drinks all around and bantering about - feeling the love!
May you spank as long as you want to, and want to as long as you spank. ♥
God bless Reese's pieces, that's for sure.
God bless Cadbury, Hershey's and that hottie Swiss Miss too.
I wanna rock n' roll all night, and party everyday!
So Chris
you want to rock n' roll all night do ya?
Wow.. so quiet. when its like this i dont know whether to post or not. maybe dont post as everyone is busy. or maybe post to let others know there is someone here? not sure. I wonder if many of us arent dealing with alot right now.
Im currently living in 2 universes. There is the one happening around me, where old best friend passed away, someone close attempted suicide again, where good friends fight illness battles.
Then there is the alternate universe where i just enjoy the beauty all around me and bask in the love i have around me. Grateful for so much. knowing i cant change things so must accept and focus on positives in life. Cant let myself be frozen in fear.
Like basking in the sun, trying out my supermodel moves till the wasp has me running around like a fool. Then i spotted the big bull at the fence. about 10 ft from my tanning spot on my deck. I took my camera with intent on driving him away. instead we had a moment. Felt good. I dont like fighting with the cows.
Little moments like that make it all worthwhile. Nature heals.
CHRIS & NANCY- I want to rock and roll and party every day !!!!!
.
DEE- I know what you mean. I always go to the negative and as you say there is nothing we can do about it. Try to enjoy our little things we like. I'm trying too Dee.
.
HAVE A GOOD WEEKEND EVERYONE.
DEE...I think all we can do is be thankful for all that is good in our life. I too try very hard not to go to the 'bad/sad' place. When I find myself going there I try to find something that I enjoy doing and focus on that.
HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND EVERYONE.
I wish that when people are hurting that they will come here and not shut down. with all that is going on, i would think i would be rocking in a corner. but no. We have to find the strength to deal. It is not my own pain i have issues with, it is others. and not knowing how to help them.
What can you do with a loved one who is suicidal? I dont know. No one could help me when i was. I had to climb out myself. I take this as pay back for what i put my mom thru. now it is my turn.
I have questions i ask myself daily. Who am i? What is my purpose? I am not sure, but i think that if i come here and share what im going thru it may help another. maybe see they are not along in their struggles. We all have struggles.
I want to save the world and i dont know how. I want to revamp the medical system. revamp the justice system. ease the tension between east and west. Meanwhile i cant help those im closest too.
I really hope this blog comes back to life. It is one of my favorite happy places. LOVE YOU COLONY!!!!
Hi Everyone!! Thanks for all the hot chocolates NANCY! It is nice to see the list of so many Ants and their drink orders. Hope your husband had a great birthday!!
I feel like we need a special horn to blow that can be heard by all Ants and they know they are being thought of and missed.
Hope EVERYONE is having a good weekend!! BEDBUG-- I so want your computer to let you post here!! I miss you and your thoughts so much. DONNA-- I hope you are having a magical weekend...KRISTEN....thinking of you and wondering what animals have you attracted to yourself lately? Your animal posts make me think of Disney movies, so maybe please I/we can call you Princess Kristen? ") .... SNL season premiere tonight...:)
Hi Guys!. Well I got out for my 3rd time from the hospital. This last time I was so upset and tired of living that I threatened to kill Momma, Mom and me and send us all to heaven.( I am ok now.) I even had a plan. Well that ended me up in the Mental Institute 2 hours from home so I saw Corey going in and coming out. I was there about 5 days and by the time I left I was rejoicing in life. I really don't understand what happened, but I was so tired that it seemed like a good idea. The last week in the Beliot Memorial Hospital they fianlly found a doctor who managed to straighten me out. I was on so much medicine that I couldn't think. If you want to talk to me about it, write me at my e-mail account, DancerUnderAMoon@aol.com. I don't want to tie up the blog with all the hell I have been thru lately. I love all of y'all.
.
I plan to start writing again once our rooms down stairs are tidied. I've decided not to try to publish a book. Instead I will rejoice in what I write for free and to share my imagination with. I also will be writing again for Writers Guild which will be short 2 page stories.
.
Anyway, I am for the moment, OK. God is and has been talking with me and helping me. My Pastor and I talked about the story I am writing and I told him I really didn't want to submit it, that I was having a good time writing it, but the rest made me nervouse. I welcome personal e-mail.
Love Jean
Tender Loving Jean!!
Welcome back from "Hell".
For those that stop by after this post, hopefully you'll be interested in doing a little writing exercise with me.
**Write about the season of Autumn**
.
Anyone up for it?
.
I'd love to read everyone's posts - about what you feel or think when someone says the word Autumn or you see or feel the first hints of Autumn's arrival.
.
No rules...other than write from you heart.(...you could write just 4 or 5 words, a paragraph or a poem...)
.
I'll wait to see if there's interest in doing this with me before I post mine.
SHANNON...will you be having treatments this week? Hope you're doing ok.
HI CRAIG, AMI, NANA, JAX, COLEEN, EMJAY, KANDYED, MRS. BEAN&hearts, BEDBUG, HEIDI, KRISTEN, STEPH, PAM, VANCOUVERGIRL, GINGER, DR. DONNA, CHRIS, NEBBY&hearts, COLONYKAT, LOIS, JANINE2, MALEA, SCRAPPYSMOM, BECK, JAZZY, ANT, and ANYONE I'VE MISSED.....
Wow! What a wonderful start to the day!
TL Jean!!! I wish i could just wrap you up and keep you safe. Im so sorry for all you are going thru. So glad doc was able to try and even out your meds. Im sorry you had to suffer thru that. Docs changing up meds like that on you would cause anyone to break. I hope you know that and that docs dont get liver impairment and that drugs hit us harder. You have amazing strength Jean.
I just want to dance and celebrate Jean is home. Who is going to play me a good happy dance song? Maestros? you know if i go looking for song i will get lost.
and writing your book for pleasure is the best way. Then later if you want it can still be edited to suit publisher. Im so impressed with you Jean. With all your health issues you still manage to do way more than i do. i gotta pick up my pace. :)
Has anyone heard from ANT?
AMI ANT! Another reason to smile today. Love seeing you here.
Ali-Kat - Sending so much love to you. A day with out my GG is a day without sunshine.
Teri, Dawn, Nebby, Erin, Steph - ♥♥♥♥
Woohoo my mouth feels good today. Yeehaw!
ANT! Im imagining you out there having a great time. I like to think My Grrrl is cutting in to our blog time with you. I personally know how much time rubbing bellies can take. and im just referring to Jack. Never mind the dogs..
Nancy - Sending big hugs to you. just cause.. i think your special..
ATTENTION*ATTENTION*ATTENTIO
I have ANT news to share
he is still having technical difficulties, in a nut shell this is it
he came back from Greece to find his computer broke, he finally sent it to manufacturer for repair, they at first said they didn't receive it (until ANT said you signed for it it's on the tracking number), so I guess they have misplaced it
his blackberry is also broke,( he did say he tried to return emails but they kept bouncing back to him) must have been the beginning of the end of the blackberry
and lastly, not necessarily leastly, he changed his phone system and seems the "waves" can't penetrate all the way through his building so it sucks too
therefore we have no time frame as to when he will be back in touch here and uploading videos or posting
so we all just need to be patient until he can he hates being disconnected from us for so long
Ami, Autumn always comes with mixed emotions. The end of summer. :( The end of my beautiful garden. I feel i cant connect with nature so well in 2 ft of snow.
But then i see the fall colors and they drive me wild. I have this desire to photograph everything with this golden glow that is happening now. The beauty each season brings is exciting.
Autumn
when I hear that word, I picture leaves changing color into ranges of orange and red and brown
and crisply cool air and windy days
but in reality, I don't get that in SoCal leaves just drop off trees without changing colors, and the SantaAna winds are a bit stronger than the imagined ones. and as for the crisp air...I feel limp with these hot days of greater than 100 degrees
Nancy, thanks for the Ant update. It is good to know he is safe. Well I am off again to work on this cloak for Jonathon. I have the major pieces done and now I am working on a design for a pouch that loops thru his belt and has a cover on it. I designed the cloak too. Well off until tomorrow. Love Jean
NANCY- Can ANT let CRAIG give us a new page? He's done it before when he was on holiday??? Pretty Please???
.
NANCY- Thanks for the POG!! Ice cold too!!!
.
ERIN- You are so talented in writing.
.
DEE- I'm so glad your mouth is better. Yeah!!!
.
TERI- I got your email, but I've been in the darn garden. I'm pooped!!! I don't have any news yet anyway about some of the things you asked.
.
ALI-KAT- ♥ ♥ ♥
Yayyyyy Welcome back TLJ! (hug hug)
Autumn: a potpourri of candy corn, pumpkin pie, squash, turkey, mashed potatoes with gravy, cranberry sauce and hot chocolate… slipper socks, sweaters, gloves, hats & scarf, a heating fuel bill and eventually a snow shovel.
Oh, and an attitude to go along with that last part. ♥
Lots of room right here:
CRAIG- I hate to sound dumb, but the site you gave as the link I don't have a clue where to post or where to look so I guess I stay here???
AMAZING RACE- I loved it tonight. I have a few favorites. Did anyone else watch it?
Funny how Ant got quiet right after Mr. Grrl came on the scene. First Mr. Grrl takes over the blog. Looks all cute and tries to put us under his spell. Did you see him trying to mesmerize us with his little shy act? Im sure he must have broken down ANT's defenses and has him captive. Suddenly ANT's communication is cut. This has Mr. Grrl written all over it.
ANT! I hear you buddy. I have 5 dogs holding me captive with their wily ways. You know.. The little cute stretch where they shake as they put their legs out. Or the little paws cover the nose and then they peak at you..
Dont fall for it ANT. He will take over the place and soon be running it. oh i have to go. Curly looks like he is on to me. I wasnt here....
Hey gang! I have not read all of the prior posts. So.......I will start by saying I missed you all and it is good to be back. Let's catch up...how was your summer?
AUTUMN...
I love the colors of autumn. I even love raking the leaves on a sunny crisp autumn day! LOL
Today I have to take out the water line, put the hoses in the garage and close up the a/c for winter (yes I said the W word) LOL After that I'm off to visit with Mom.
Have a great day everyone.
Autumn:
(a haiku by dr donna) lol
.
fall is my favorite
breathe in the crisp fragrant air
bursting with color
.
Autumn is a time for brisk walks in the woods kicking up leaves as you meander the ancient dirt paths of our fore fathers. There is a crisp smell permeating the air along with the smokey traces of people who burned their leaves. The grey skyes whisper that Winter is on it's way, but that the earth isn't yet ready to let Autumn pass. The ghosts of children who played happily in these woods during the warm Summer months are now tucked tightly away in warm wooly's trying to learn their ABC's in an overly warm classroom. Spring is suppose to be the season of rebirth, but that doesn't seem to affect Autumn right to rebirth as well as our senses are enveloped around us teasing us with a long Winter's sleep that we refuse to kneel before. Autumn is a well deserved month for the pleasures of the chill in the air as we wandered down these ancinet trails.
.
I am feeling grounded today and I do hope this ode to Autumn makes sense.
Love Jean
Jean - Your ode to Autumn is beautiful! So glad you're home and feeling more like yourself again. ((HUGS))
Guess I need some schooling HeHe!
Hi kids.
SOME DAY I will get back to reading and having more of a conversation here.
For now, all I can do is check in and say hi.
Colony prayers to SVJ's hubby Alex who had a "cardiac episode" last night. I think she mostly posts on Myspace and facebook but wanted to post it here just because more prayers can't be bad right? Lydia's Cathy is also going through some junk. Colon issues that may entail surgery soon or hopefully in a few weeks.
Tomorrow, I see a surgeon about whatever is going on with my private parts (my doc says they call em private for a reason so she gets why it is so uncomfy.)
They think either a diverticula or something that caused potentially a hole. They first thought it was a Barholin's gland issue, but Doc #2 (pun?) thinks it is from the back door not the porch. HA!HA!HA!
Anyway.
I know that everyone deals with ssooooo much stuff and far worse than me.... but I would just ask that if you have a minute to send some prayers up for Cathy/Lyd, Alex/Savannah, and toss one in for me too ok?
Hopefully tomorrow afternoon I will be back with fantastic news laughing my arse off about how silly I was to be so worried.
Nancy - thanks for the Latte this morning. I had one in my hand when you made the delivery, so it felt even more "real" than usual! Perfect timing. :o)
((((EMJAY)))) Everything will be FINE, truly it will.
Monday already! The nerve of Father Time to keep speeding it up. Hope everyone has a great week...so many in need of prayers and positive thoughts. Can I just say thank you for sharing your burdens and giving us the opportunity to pray or whatever it is we do to connect with the world. It really is an honor to be asked to share in some small way others burdens. Thank you!!
I have loved reading the thoughts on Autumn, so many beautiful descriptive words used. Is cornucopia not one of the greatest words ever? Just saying it is fun!
Have a great night ALL!!
Thanks for the update on ANT~ Hope he has technology soon!! :)
Thanks for the hot chocolate NANCY!! :) Love the name of your drink establishment ♥
I LOVE reading your Autumn stuff. But, I gotta tell ya...here in Texas...at least my part of Texas, there's no such thing...we go from HOT to COLD...there's nothing in the middle...LOL, but I still love it here!
.
.
I have two softball games tonight, new season starting. And, of course, the first game doesn't start till 9:00, which is what time I usually go to bed....gonna be a late one! I'll need a Red Bull to get me out of bed in the morning for sure!
.
.
LOVE YOU ALL!!!! Can we start the countdown to the next Colony picnic yet?!
Love ya ANT!
