Well, I've just taken some pain pills about 20 mintues ago so I am good to go back sleep. I do hope everyone is sleeping well, having pleasant dreams. Me, I've been dreaming about dogs. dogs everywhere and everyone of them loved by me in my dreams. I know I wish I could have another dog, but we can't afford it, and it would freak poor Darlin out. She's used to be a single dog, a Momma's girl, for over 10 years and I am not sure how she would react if we aquired a new dog. I do know I hope we have her for at least 5 more years. Then as most people in the know tell us to do is replace Darlin as soon as possible so we have someone new to love and spend out our grief with even though the new dog will only know she has a aquired a loving family who will dote on her.

Woke up feelin like crud again today and hope to have some time soon where I feel healthy and energized. I have 1/2 my antibiotics left to take and think that adjusting to a high blood pressure pill is maybe making me tired and mellow? IDK. This too shall pass.

Tis Monday and I hope it is a beginning of a great week for ALL OF US!!!!!!!!!!!!

Real quick update:
I am being admitted to hospital early tomorrow morning. I wanted everyone to know in case I am out of touch for awhile. They have found something on my pancreas. I will be having surgery to find out more. Please send prayers to my children as they are having a really difficult time right now with me being in the hospital. I love you all and I hope you have a great week.xo

Good morning Colony! Back to the real world...LOL. It just never ceases to amaze me how a random group of people, from all walks of life have become such a close knit group. The ANT Colony has been a blessing in my family's life for sure. Thank you ANT for making yourself available and giving us this opportunity. A SPECIAL thank you to all of the colony members who take the time to keep up with posts and keep up with everyone, that is a lot of work and a great commitment. It was especially cool to spend time with Kristen. She is such a sweet heart and a joy to be around...although she does talk ALOT *wink*...have a great Monday colony.

I am still on summer vacation. We don't have kids until September 8th. But over the summer I go into my classroom to relax. Yes, you read right...relax. I love cleaning, organizing, and setting up my room for the new year.

Thanks to everyone who has posted pictures, stories and anything from the picnic. It has been fun to look at them and share in the experience. Thanks to Ant and Jason and everyone who helped with the chat from the picnic. It was really great to see everyone and be there in more than spirit.

Glad you all had so much fun and I think Minneapolis sounds wonderful. I vote yes for that and hope I can make it to the next one.

JEAN--I went to a Scottish Festival on Saturday and thought of you and how much you would have enjoyed it. Lots of men in kilts, swords, pipers. Caber tossing. It was a lot of fun. My 6 year old kept asking if we could leave because the music was hurting his ears. :) Hope you are doing okay!!

Loved all the different views of Seattle from your Pictures ..got to feel like I was there..I marvel at all the places you were able to get to!! I loved the shops and all the places and seeing the prices of things and the scenery and..such great close ups of the space needle..... the perspective of it was so great... never saw it that close up..such detail.loved that. and OMG did you or anyone go up in it?? Looks so scary to me!! :)

Erin, I am sorry your son thought the music was too loud. Tell him it is joyful music to be played loudly cause thats the way Scots like it. I wish I could have gone with you. I love Scottish Festivals, especially the bonnest knees contest when you get to hoot and hollar as the men have their knees felt for the best ones! I also love the caber toss and the dancing, though it is now done by little girls, long ago it was strickley (sp) a man's dance, especially the dancing of the swords.

everyone was so nice, and I couldn't believe it when Jason recognized me from the Improv show
my cookies disappeared pretty quickly, so no complaints there

my Hubby was in everyone's face taking pics and was quite smitten with DR Donna, Beck and Lydia

we all felt like family at a reunion catching up

Well admitted at the hospital at midnight. During prep discovered I have a bleeding ulcer so have to delay surgery. Oh and was also diagnosed with diabetes. So that will way in on my treatments. On the way home we have major storm so I came home to no power. But is back on now so I am very thankful. Thank you so much for all of your prayers, thoughts and good wishes. DAWN: I was FOR SURE kidding. I've never eaten rabbit and don't really plan to. Yes, I'm fairly well back to normal (as normal as I ever get.) Still tired but can't really blame it on jet lag any more, I don't think. Just a failure on my part to get a good night's sleep. Too nocturnal for my own good.

TLJ - weren't they pretty? They are glass balls - different shapes and sizes - they are decorative, and I think they can be hung/displayed however you like - I have one at home that was in my Grandma's house, a vivid beautiful cobalt blue color - I love it! But I liked how they looked all together at the market, so bright and colorful.

What I learned from this trip is that it's important to step out of your comfort zone. It doesn't have to be huge like going on a trip out of the country, but if it gets you out...meeting new people...it can only help you grow.

STEPH! Minneapolis and St. Paul are great cities! There's a SUPER AWESOME GLBT community, and there is a HUGE variety of things to do: Art Galleries, shopping, parks, lakes, the MN Zoo, Canterbury Downs (horse racing), Mystic Lake (casino), our Science Museum, Valley Fair (amusement park) - so if we plan for another 3 day weekend, we'd have TONS of options for people to do some sightseeing during the day - and we can plan another great BBQ/PICNIC like this year, too - they did SUCH a great job. Now that the groundwork was done by QJ and Lydia, we have some great steps we can follow the next time. I hope it works out to be here, because I've already got some fun ideas for stuff we can do. (Gee, overeager much??) LOL!!

The Mercer Slough was like the cherry on top of my ice-cream sundae of a weekend, and without Craig, I'd have only had Reddi Whip. Just not the same.

I thought that quote was rather fitting. I got to spend a total of five awesome days with the people I consider to be my family. My only complaint is that it wasn't long enough. And coming back to an empty, dusty apartment was tough. But I'm so excited for next year!
Today, I'm sick as a dog lol. Very sneezing, achy, dizzy, I fainted this morning - that was fun. *thumbs up!* :D But according to my friend shawn, I still have an "ANT glow" and I still feel that "ANT high" so I'm doing good!! :) Everyone who said it before was right, ANT gives the best hugs. I didn't want to let go. My wish for all of you is that someday, everyone can experience that (and I know you all will). xox.

Oh no! You fainted? That must have been a little disconcerting! Glad you still have the "glow" to help yourself feel better. Eat some chicken soup (and a SANDWICH, as ANT would say! LOL!!), get plenty of fluids, and take a little nappy-poo. That always helps. Hope you feel better soon!

Can I just say that the best part of seeing everyone's pictures (besides seeing so many of you) is that the pictures you chose to take, the angles and the view are so cool! Although you all photographed Seattle, they were all such different perspectives. I loved getting to see so many of them. Glimpses of your beautiful souls ( I know that is corny! but true! )

I am super happy! My sister in law is going to be induced tomorrow morning. We will finally get to meet Sadie. I couldn't be more happy to be an aunt!!!

I think it's a great idea to vote to see what works - my guess is that no matter which location, there will be some who aren't able to make the trip. I knew lots of people here in the say, 5 state area - who wanted so badly to come this year, and weren't able to make the trip. Having it in the Twin Cities would make it possible for them to come next time. My main thought in offering the central location was compromise in distance for most people, and also that I would be thrilled to do all of the work to prepare for it. I wasn't the Social Chairperson of my college sorority for no reason - I'm a party planner at heart! :o) So, Chris, if it's in Boston, just promise me that I can be on the planning committe (can my clipboard be just a little bigger than yours? LOL!!) and I'll be happy!!

Boston is so close that to me... been there and done that already. It would be purely for the accessiblity of others.

Minnesota would be fun. I don't care when it's planned either... I'm planning on planning on it.

(I can see it now - many years down the road we'll be like the Brady Bunch adventure week to Hawaii, the Grand Canyon and afar!)

And for the record, next year FLAT Heidi will not be traveling.

Someone much more representative of the real-life version will be joining.

:-) Montreal-Chicago flight, meet us there for the train ride to St. Paul where we rent our car, and travel to the Mall of America which will be HOME BASE for the stay.

Why does a flight to Minnesota cost $1000 more than a flight to Chicago from Boston?

I have been to Boston but not the twin cities, and I could make a vacation of it to visit my cousin in Indiana since that would be sorta close by

Austin was diagnosed with intussusception, and the surgeon removed a few inches of intestine that held the tumor, manually un-telescoped the small bowel and re-sectioned it. He also removed the appendix. Successfully, I might add! :)

I think I've only been on the NBC campus once or twice but since so many of you from the bash are here and not on facebook or MySpace I wanted to stop by and say it was nice to meet so many of you, and I took lots of photos which are posted on my facebook and MySpace pages.
