.
EMJAY- Have a great day with hubby!
That was wonderful! It brought tears to my eyes, but they were tears of amazement when I stop to realize that just a few years ago, none of you were a part of my life. Wow! Life is good and the blessings flow! I am so lucky to have met you all. When I watched that I remember how we have all been woven into the fabrics of each other's lives.

Hmm, looks like it's just me...
No adult supervision...
That could be dangerous.
You parents ALWAYS know what you're doing!!!!
TERI
I eat snacks that are 100 calories or less. So half an apple, a small plum or nectarine, some carrots, sugar free popsicles, granola bars, fruit leather, etc. I just try and make sure that my snacks are NO MORE than 100 calories.
Dear ANT,
I loved this the first time and love it again!
~
Strange how often times you seem to be in sync (not the band;) with us...
~
Can't play, but cannot stop thinking.

The video fits my thoughts, I think.

It Doesn't Matter To me.
I just want each of you to know a few things:
It doesn't matter to me if you are a size 1 or 100.
It doesn't matter to me if your hair is thick, or you are bald.
It doesn't matter to me if your teeth are gleaming white, or you have none.
It doesn't matter to me what type of vehicle you own, or if you own one.
It only matters that you can get to where you are going.
It doesn't matter to me what type of clothes you wear.
It doesn't matter to me what level of education you have achieved.
It only matters that you know LIFE is the greatest teacher.
It doesn't matter to me where you live, only THAT you live.
AND
It doesn't matter to me who you love...just LOVE.
~
~
~
I love each of you! xoxo!

I miss ALL of you!
I don't think that came out right?

None of those things matter to me, because...I love you for YOU!

LOL!!! I am a chapstick addict! .... There I said it ...
.
Hey ...do you really park miles away so that someone else can park close? Seems kind of British as well to me... But then again.. I guess you ARE a British citizen under the rule of THE QUEEN..even if only ceremoniously...:P
When you come to America.... all that polite stuff goes out the window... you must play as we play and you FIGHT for the close spot!! LOL!!! Okay....not all are like that.....but some can be a bit aggressive and scary out there for sure. :)
(((DR DONNA!!! ))) I think you are beautiful and take a beautiful picture... and..by the way... I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to have your hair!! :) You are so talented as well with personality and energy to spare. Sad that a few words from a evil being can shake any one of us...but it happens so easily... Cant give those words power though..have to let them go as the complete garbage they are.
.
(((EMJAY))) love what you said about the video..so true. Hope you are all healed up! OUCH!! :)
.
((GINGER....NANCY SO CAL)) and anyone else traveling this weekend. Safe travels to you and joyful times!! I know it must have been soo much fun and so exciting. Cant wait to hear all about it!

(((STEPH))) ..OH it is soo hard to put yourself first when you have little ones... ( or big ones LOL!!) everyone says that you will be a better person and a better MOM if you take care of YOU first ...but so much easier said than done.... I am proud of you for working at doing that and realizing you are worth it! Congratulations on all you are doing!!
.
ROGER and his wife had TWIN girls...Wonder how THAT will affect His life and career ??!!! BIG change!! :)
((DAWN)) OMG...TONIGHT..ZONE out to the MOST DRAMATIC finale in Bachelor/ Bachelorette history!! LOL What is up with Reid returning? Do they script these things?? They Just HAVE TO!! LOL Will it draw even CRAIG out into the evil that is the BACHELORETTE???? :)
(((TERI)) I could look down OR up!! LOL Nice to SEE you but I am getting dizzy..... lol
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zkB6ApMmwSA&feature=channel_page I just wanted to check in ...it has been a long weekend since I had to do OT at work...today (monday) i am off work...time to rest rest rest
((( CHRIS))) You are so wise and so right in what you say... and in the food choices you mention.
.
It is so hard but if we change from the SAD ( standard American diet) that we are all brought up on... (all our comfortable and known comfort foods!) to healthier choices.. even new foods etc ..your cravings for the salt ..sugar... starchy things really does go away and you don't want to eat those things.
.
They are triggers to make you crave more and more...and it is almost impossible to "diet" while eating them You are hungry ALL the time and then one wrong move and you are on a "binge" and ready to quit the whole thing again and hating your self that you can't stay on your plan....... a vicious cycle......but it is almost impossible to stay on a plan if eating those same foods and you have not done anything to try to change your thinking or the foods you are ingesting.
.
They are all foods we were brought up on...but if you could cut out ( or down on) WHITE foods...the salt..sugar .. dairy..... white rice...white potatoes...white bread..white pasta etc...and just try adding more colorful foods... REAL FOODS....fruits and veggies... to your repertoire you are less likely to binge etc...or crave those other things.
.
It is NOT easy and takes time..but can happen. You need healthy fats in your diet too..People think they need to cut out FAT altogether and that leads to Hunger as well. But you need HEALTHY fats.... ...nuts. seeds.... nut butters......avacadoes ...
There is an interesting documentary out about how we are all "sold" what foods we should be eating and feeding ourselves and our children etc.. Called Processed People...here is mini clip from it if anyone interested.... just throwing it out there! LOL
.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G96Sztb8Ctk
.
And here is the web site anyone interested. There are other clips there.....it is just interesting takes on diet and health from medical professionals who have healed some food related diseases and helped in weight loss as well

((Ali-Kat)) I'm glad I could bring you some laughter. :-) It's today's special. All natural ingredients. :-)
Also thanks for the processed clip. At one point the Dr says: "Eat food. Don't eat 'food like' things."
I had bIg plans to clean out my little den. I've now procrastinated to the point where will be late for work if I start now.
I still intend to clean out this little room of mine.
The thought is slowly put into action.
:-)
Have a great Monday and try this color test:

Dear ANT!
Thank you for posting that video. Luv Pug is a most beautiful lady. Ant how many people take the time to start a blog and end up creating a family? What you have created with the Colony is truly Awe inspiring. For a man with so much on the go, for you to take this time is greatly appreciated.
As i look thru those pics i am reminded of all the things that we have seen at the colony. Nancy bravely fighting a battle and coming out more than victorious. also giving so many hope and inspiration. witnessing Ginger becoming Grandma again, watching Kenny flourish, watching babies arrive safely, and lost children come home. and prayers being sent for ones still to come home.
A place to come when having a bad day, knowing most will understand. a soft place to land. or a place to share celebrations and accomplishments with others.
A place to come when needing encouragement or support. A place with no judgements. just love.
Thank you ANT for creating this Colony! Thank you Colony for being YOU!!!! ♥♥♥♥
Merry Monday everyone!
Wanted to stop by this joint and check up on you all. Always nice to see your smiling names. HA!HA!HA!
I am dealing with crazy headaches and dizziness from some blood pressure meds I was put on 2 weeks ago and it is frustrating, and to me... scary. I can't function feeling like I am going to pass out. When I feel "fine" in the head, I feel so exhausted I am in a state of constant yawning. I am callin my doc tomorrow (cuz she isn't in today) to see if I can TRY to do 1/2 a pill or what.
My hubby Blake is home I THINK until Wednesday, and time is flying by too fast already. Trying to get things done and do fun things before he leaves again. Times like these make me realize that we should never wish any time away....... even if it is an hour. I hope it teaches me patients and being "in the moment".... even when standing in line at a store. (Well, maybe.)
Anyway. Nice to see you all!
thank ali kat for shout out severe thunderstorms today i is scared hello fellow colonist
BACHELORETTE TONIGHT- ZONE OUT TV LOL1
waves back to Chris, couldn't see him in Vegas just too many lights there
thank you AK did travel to and fro safely
long post alert
Las Vegas was Hawt and HOT! 104
I didn't know Ginger had gotten in to Vegas late the night before and stayed up late checking some of Vegas out. She had accidentally left my phone # at home when she packed along with a few other things, so wasn't able to tell me her room #, fortunately I knew the Motel she was in Ballys, so when they phoned her room for me( I woke her up at 8:30), she hadn't been in bed very long. She was a trooper and said give them an hour and come on up to their room (she gave me the room #). It was easy to kill an hr window shopping and checking out menus at some of the restaurants just in Ballys. We avoided all the casino enticements
So when the hr was up we were greeted by a freshly showered Ginger in her robe battling the effects of medicine that made her drowsy and her natural sleepiness, still managed to greet us warmly with the best hugs (second to TLJ's that is). While she and Ray finished getting ready, we talked about everything under the sun I gave her a lavender fan and 2 hats for her grandaughters. We were all hungry by this time and decided to try out "the best buffet in Vegas" as advertised. That meant walking in the heat down the sidewalks a couple blocks to the designated address. Boy do they try to get you coming and going with flyers, cards of semi-clad ladies, time share offers etc. There were a lot of humanity out there like us walking walking walking, anyway we made it there but had to wait in line because the buffet wasn't open yet and the line was getting long so we weren't the only ones with this idea, we are seated promptly and drink orders taken then off to decide which of the many selections to choose from, Mexican, Italian, American, Seafood, Middle Eastern, Salad selection, desserts and I forget the rest...it was HUGE...so we tanked up (get our $$$s worth, if you know what I mean)
We tried to decide the days plans while ingesting the delish food, they wanted to see Hoover Dam and more of Vegas before ANT's show They had already seen the fountains of the Belagio but not Caesar's so we headed there and walked and walked and walked (I think I got my 10,000 steps in) Did a little shopping took lots of photos of the art work, which is stunning if you haven't been there yet, we got lost as they have added to it since I was last there. then we were going to go to the Dam but walking back to the Motel....the heat did us in, Ginger got sunburnt we needed to cool done rehydrate and rest so instead of the Dam we all took a nap. We had planned to have dinner before the show but after we all changed into 'nice' clothes, it was too close to show time to do dinner so we walked again and found the theater wasn't where we thought it was, guess what he had to walk walk walk some more after asking several people if we were getting close yet, turns out it is just off the strip so we made it there checked in and picked up our tickets easy peasy, then had to wait in line about 45 min on the sidewalk before they would let us in. Ginger was awfully glad she had a fan to keep the air going, we were all sweating up a storm. once inside we got a table up front waitresses were taking drink orders can you imagine $6 for a gingerale, I ordered it at the bar myself for $3, I'm thrifty when I can be. The show started a little after 9 and was packed, Shayma Tash was the hostess of Tickled Pink and started the show off with a bang, then she introduced Jason Dudey, then she did some more with improvisation, and then our ANT had his turn, he was in FINE FORM the audience had a great time. After the show was photo of time, Ginger and I gave Jason and ANT a couple gifts what were lovingly appreciated and John took pics of course (hear that Van? lots of pics like you requested) We were given free tickets for the next nights show, we gave ours to Ginger who was going to look for some lucky tourists that would appreciate free tickets. It was quite a while since we had eaten at this point, so we looked for a place to eat that was still open Sunday night after 11 (slim pickens BTW) We found a wonderful place (we thought) in Paris. Had to wait in line again (at least in air conditioned comfort) got seated and no waiter, people around us were getting food but not us...hmmm...Ray went and told asst manager who looked into it. Turns out hostess seated us at a table that had no assigned waiter, and do you think you could get one to notice us? heck no! the assistant gave us a lot of attention from that point on, we got extra bread, she took out orders 3 people served our plates and we were given free desserts (I love cream brulee) so we ate at 1 AM (over 12 hrs from previous meal).
Now our tummys were happy we weren't hot and we found we could connect to Bally's from here without having to go outside, but still more walking LOL, we got back to the room packed up our things said our goodbyes, hugged and headed home I didn't make it 30 min and I slept while John drove
I don't know what time it was when we got home we both climbed in bed exhausted (John more than me obviously) as I write this John is still in bed LOL
and that's our adventure, Ginger is staying a couple more days and plans to visit the Grand Canyon too
BSA
I did forget to add I was looking for a blonde and Ginger was looking for a redhead LemonDeb, now I know she was unavailable
still...sometime that magic is going to happen and we will meet her
one more thing
LemonDeb can you add Ginger to your myspace friends, it won't let her without your full name or something like that she said
NANCY!!!
Thanks for the recap! It sounds like you all had an amazing time. Can't wait to see pics!
I'm sucked into the lifeform I call the Blaaaachelorette. She as two good ones. Once Wes was gone, I was happy. At the risk of losing my lesbian card for watching this...let me just say I am also doing research. Watching these guys use their best moves. That's my story and I'm sticking to it!
BTW, not sure if anyone remembers the wreck I had in Oct. that totaled my van. I was on an interstate in Dallas and a car getting on hit me (and kept going), I couldn't control my car after that and hit a car that that sitting in traffic coming on the interstate that was stopped. Both of our vehicles were disabled and we got out of our cars and moved over the guard rail for safety. My car was in the second lane and hers was in the first. Another vehicle hit my van as we waited for the police. Long story short, there were no tickets issued, the police had us share insurance info. All the people involved were fine.
.
.
Today, some guy comes knocking on my door and gives me paperwork. The girl I hit (and the two other people in her car) are suing me. They had a whole list of B.S., saying I was intoxicated, and didn't control my car or my speed...and on and on. I hadn't had one drink that night, I hit her after someone hit me and I couldn't steer (my strut was broken after the first impact.) There were no pictures taken, no statements taken, and the police didn't question anyone, so I don't really think they have a leg to stand on. I was briefly freaked when I got the paperwork. Then, I remembered that's what I pay my insurance company for, so I guess I will just take this stuff to them and let them deal with it. It just never ceases to amaze me how people try and take advantage of other people.
.
.
LOA that's it's no big deal and it blows over. They want my driving records and things (which I'm glad to say is totally ticket and accident free) so they are looking for some dirt, but will be greatly disappointed.
.
.
Anyone ever had this happen?
NANCY- Thank you so much for the Vegas journey. Totally enjoyed it and can picture you both there.
.
BECK- Don't tell me yet about Bachelorette as it's only 5:45pm here! LOL! I can't wait!!!
Is that REALLY the best bathing suit Ed could find considering he was going to be on national television?
((NANCY))..That was a great recap........they dont call you BSA for nothing! How did you guys do all that walking in that heat!! OMG i almost can't take it just reading about it!! :) So glad you were able to though. Wish ANT could do a LIVE show DVD for all of us that can't ever get there to see him in person. :(
.
((BECK))...People are just crazy is all I can say.. Sorry you have to deal with all that. . From what you say though it should not be a problem..and it is up to your insurance co now. Would it not revert though to the first person who caused it to begin with and their insurance?
.
Well for tonight..you can just zone out and enjoy that Squeeling Canadian gal!! LOL Oh ED actually wore THAT before!! LOL!!!
(((CRAIG))) That is tricky with the color test. You would think it would be so easy..but our brains are weird! :) They have a thing like that I do on Nintendo DS..... the brain age game one.... they call it a STROOP test I think..
Hope you enjoy the Bachelorette tonight! :) I think there might even be a helicopter ride.....
.
Off to zone out now...
ALI--I am watching The Bachelorette, but I am claiming it is heat stroke and I am too lazy to change the channel. ;o) I won't even mention I am watching the show after it...:)
So good to see you posting! ♥
TERI--♥ Thanks for the mail! Sending back to you soon :)
DAWN, DEE, STEPH and everyone else dealing with the heat----YUCK!! Hope you can keep cool until it gets better.
NANCY--Thank you for the great recounting of your fun trip to Vegas. I am with Ali though, just hearing about the heat was horrible. I am glad you all endured it and still had so much fun.
BECK--If the police came to the accident they had to write a report even if they did not issue tickets. The report should say if anyone was injured or what your account of what happened to you was. I think you are right about giving it to your insurance and letting them handle it, glad you are okay!
Hope you are all enjoying your Monday!
Ali-kat, the first person involved didn't stop.
.
.
Mrs. Bean...sadly if there were no injuries, no arrests, and no damage to public property, the police can choose to not get involved and that's what they did. The insurance company couldn't believe there was no report.
I didn't know that BECK. That is kind of crazy and it is sad, but actually may work in your favor. If they don't file because there are no injuries, arrests or damage to public property--it would seem you are in the clear. Sorry you have to have the hassle of waiting it all out and seeing what kind of "evidence" they produce.
When my parents were in a car accident in washington d.c. the police came and said they don't fill out a report or give tickets ever. They just check to see if an ambulance is needed and let the insurance companies work it out. Makes me want to have a video camera on me at all times to document everything.
Umm....Reid!? WTH?
Thanks so much to NANCY for this, it has made me laugh several times today and had me wondering if I am a cat or a dog? I think I lean more towards the cat diary :)

Excerpts from a Cat's Daily Diary...
Day 983 of my captivity...
My captors continue to taunt me with bizarre little dangling objects.
They dine lavishly on fresh meat, while the other inmates and I are fed hash or some sort of dry nuggets.
Although I make my contempt for the rations perfectly clear, I nevertheless must eat something in order to keep up my strength.
The only thing that keeps me going is my dream of escape. In an attempt to disgust them, I once again vomit on the carpet.
Today I decapitated a mouse and dropped its headless body at their feet.
I had hoped this would strike fear into their hearts, since it clearly demonstrates what I am capable of. However, they merely made condescending comments about what a 'good little hunter' I am.
Bastards.
There was some sort of assembly of their accomplices tonight. I was placed in solitary confinement for the duration of the event.
However, I could hear the noises and smell the food. I overheard that my confinement was due to the power of 'allergies.' I must learn what this means and how to use it to my advantage.
Today I was almost successful in an attempt to assassinate one of my tormentors by weaving around his feet as he was walking. I must try this again tomorrow -- but at the top of the stairs.
I am convinced that the other prisoners here are flunkies and snitches.
The dog receives special privileges. He is regularly released - and seems to be more than willing to return. He is obviously retarded.
The bird has got to be an informant. I observe him communicating with the guards regularly. I am certain that he reports my every move. My captors have arranged protective custody for him in an elevated cell, so he is safe.
For now................
May Peace Prevail on Earth!
BACHELORETTE- YEAH!!!!!!
Beck! I've had a similar situation but it wasn't dragged out over time like your ordeal is. I can appreciate anyone wanting to recover their losses, but not when there's BS mixed in. The insurance folks are pros. They'll know a scam when they see it.
Seriously, if there were issues like this other "party of people" claims, the police would have it documented. The fact that there's NO documentation says to the insurance "this was not a big deal."
My prediction... they try to falsify, elaborate, exaaaaaaagerate the details... they will be found guilty of attempted insurance fraud. Bad news for them. Very bad.
(Hands Beck the checkered flag... and the black flag to those other douchebags)

Nancy!! Thanks for the update! It sounds like everyone had fun aside from the missing phone # and being snubbed for dinner. :-p

The color test: that wasn't funny, Craig. It insulted my brain's sensibilities. Well, not so much insulted but screwed it up. It was almost a nightmare at one point.
I read the directions, comprehended... and began clicking.
"This is incredibly easy" I thought to myself as I whizzzzed through the list. "Who couldn't do this?"
The test results of my arrogance: 0%. I got every single answer wrong. Ok... maybe I didn't understand so I went back to the beginning and evaluated every word. Indeed I understood the concept. Let's try this again!
Clear mind - no judgment - fresh hot coffee - bring it on!
I slowly went down the list. Confident of a winning score, I clicked the final button... and my performance was evaluated once again.
30%
Stop messing with us or I'll get you and your little cat too.

I want to be a dog @ Mrs. Beans house at least for the summer if that's my workload. Life just isn't fair.

That is my rain dance if anyone cares to join me :o)
((ANT) I'm glad the show was packed!! :-)
((Nancy/Socal)) Thank-you for the very detailed account! I felt like I was really there.
((Chris)) Sorry you had trouble with the color test. I cheated.
I said the color I was looking at out loud instead of reading the word. It was the only way for me to get through it.
((Beck)) I know you will get through this. I think you are right they have no case of any kind.
((TLJ)) Glad you are doing okay. Thanks for the update! It made sense to me! :-)
((DEE))
((DAWN/RichmondBC))
I'm so glad the Blechelorette is over!
All I remember was helicopter, helicopter, helicopter, helicopter, helicopter and Silly-Ann crying/upset.
((Mrs Bean)) Very nice rain dance! Would the same kind of dance work for money too?

My little den has been cleaned out. :-)
And all the bits and pieces that were in the room are in the living room and my bedroom.
Gave it a good vacuum. Much easier with all the crap out of it.
Now onto phase two!
I think it's around here somewhere...
I'll look in Ali-Kat's purse.
:-P
CRAIG- I'm glad you got your room cleaned today. Was it not hot there? Whew it's way too too HOT!!! It's 30C right now. In my cottage is 90F with 3 fans and ghetto ice in bowls!!!
The current temperature of my pleasantly air conditioned evening is 68 degrees Farenheit... good evening Dawn!
Weeeeeeeeeee lol
:-p ♥
that's so incredibly rotten of me - I can't even tell you ...
(thunder rumbles above and wonders who strike with a flash & bolt - type sound effect)
It's taken me a few minutes to think of Craig's den as anything other than a enormous throw-in closet.
Now that I've gathered my thoughts on this, here goes:
Nope. I've got nothing.
CHRIS--that was so cruel to say how cool you are!! ;o) You might get a lot of visitors to your house now :) I have researched today where the best weather for me personally is and it seems that I will have to leave this country to experience it. So LOA that I will somehow become a resident of Ireland, Scotland or London. This hot weather is just not right---DAWN, my house is 92 with the Ghetto ice coolers and fans---hopefully it will cool off soon.
CRAIG--I will definitely give the money dance a try! Too funny! :) Congrats on cleaning out your computer room.
Okay, I have been watching More To Love---why did they have to give their heights and weights? Do they do that on The Bachelor? Not sure what I think yet.
CHRIS- I will be at your air conditioned home ASAP! It's way too hot here. Thanks for telling me about your home. LOL!
.
CRAIG- That is nice your room is all clean. I hope you do your carpet too while everything is out of there. Ha! Thank Goodness for fans!!!
.
ERIN- I have my ghetto ice in a bowl too. That STEPH has us going. I thought of you today when I saw the guy across from us has the visor thing on his front livingroom window that is for the car. You said you have a couple out your back so I thought of you! LOL! I'll be joining in the rain dance.
My older daughter, CaityBug, and her hubby, BigLove, signed on their first home today. Very exciting! If you'd like to see the photos, I started an album on MySpace. After day one they've already ripped down ALL the wallpaper and ripped up most of the carpeting to reveal beatiful hardwood flooring. I didn't walk down into the basement today but I'll get there with the camera next time. Their kitchen remodel starts Monday!
BEDBUG- Lovely house and yard and home for your daughter and family. When they finish the remodeling I'd love to see it too. I just live on HGTV in the winter. I love design etc. I'm glad it has 3 bathrooms!!!!
:-)
Lately I’ve been ridding my rooms of visual clutter. My mom thinks it’s crazy… my sister sees it as unattached. I just ‘see it’ the way I do.
Simple & plain color contrasts against other simple patterns. It’s basic. Functional. Utilitarian. Inspiring.
To me it’s the blank canvas I need. The simpler and cleaner it is, the more I’m inspired inside that room. I’m like a kid with crayons attached to my hands scribbling anywhere.
Mom needs framed photos and wall hangings everywhere to feel comfy. She calls it “my stuff.” I call it other names sometimes as we laugh with coffee. I love that woman eternally. She‘s still got too much crap in the house.
Anyway, I’m with Dawn and the love for design-y things and HGTV.
((Helga)))
(((Dee)))
You know I’ve noticed something about myself and it might be taken the wrong way sometimes… I visit with everyone here but I’m not always good about talking to you’all directly. Sometimes I give shout-outs and waves to a few of you… then I interrupt in someone else’s conversation and I ultimately accidentally miss a few of my friends’ issues.
This could potentially be misunderstood as my lack of interest. :-( That’s never the case!
I hope I haven’t done this to my friends… much. I know that I have been guilty a bit. I still love! ♥
" More to Love"...Mrs Bean I loved watching it!..I think it was a great idea that the creators of the Bach came up with..After watching the finale Tues night, it friggen depressed me as a single female..I know "life" is not TV but it sure would be nice at times..Then last night More to Love..OMG I am going to enjoy this show!..Many of the thoughts and feelings these woman expressed I can relate to with my body image issues....I thought all the woman were beautiful and confident ..It was just nice to see.
Chris...No Guilt allowed in the Colony!! Love you ♥
(((( Colony )))) xo
CHRIS- I'm with you about simple and clean. I live in a very small one bedroom cottage, but I always watch HGTV small spaces and they give and have great ideas how to live simply. I used to have all the things and I realize I can only sit in one chair at a time. We had to downsize when we moved here 5 yrs ago to the Senior complex. The Stuff I had I don't miss at all!! LOL! I do have pictures on the wall though, but very few. One girlfriend I have lives in a model home (just gorgeous when it wasn't sold yet) They moved in and no word of a lie every single inch on all the walls (Everywhere) they have something hanging. I don't know if you could find an inch of wall space. I just cringe when I go over there. It's a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom place with livingroom and family room etc etc. It's so cluttered!!! OMG! We have a show here on HGTV Canada with 2 Scottish guys from Scotland that moved to Canada. They are just wonderful about remodeling and redecorating. It's called Home Heist with Justin and Colin. I just live for that show. Justin is a really fuss budget and I love he won't lower his standards. Some of the things they have done are just great! I have gotten Craig to watch it a few times, but he's not as crazy about it as I am! LOL!!
GOODMORNING EVERYONE.
.
Another very hot hot hot one today. I think soon I'll take that advise and go to a hotel with air conditioning. We have 3 fans in this little space, but hubby went last night to get another one and the 5 places he went that had fans up to the ceiling the shelves are EMPTY!!! So we didn't get another fan! I'm doing the ghetto ice thing too!
.
I'm going for a manicure and pedicure today and they will have air conditioning. Yeah!
.
I'm doing the rain dance with Erin and the money dance with Craig! LOL!
.
STEPH- Have fun at the beach!
Alright, who the heck is doin' a rain dance?!
You're flappin' your arms the wrong direction. Now I've got it and don't want or need it. Been raining since I opened my eyes four hours ago.
Enough.
Good Morning (((ANT))) and (((COLONY)))!!!!!
.
Oh I agree the heat is TOO much..and I HAVE air conditioning!! To all of you that don't ..... oh I would be RUNNING ( and what a site that would be..LOL!!) to the nearest air conditioned hotel!!
.
DAWN..can you get a small window air conditioner to put in the bedroom so at least sleeping would be possible? Who can sleep when that hot...and hard enough under the best of conditions..... I hope it cools off SOON!!
.
(((TLJ))) Hang on....you have been through so much. Lots of love to you!
.
(((CRAIG))) .. So glad you accomplished the room cleaning..It is soo hard to get motivated...have to put it in smaller projects in your head I think than such a Big overall picture.. as then it just seems too overwhelming...but you did it! I will put a special treat in my purse.. and maybe a few TOONIES just for you!! Just learned of them from Dawn... and like ALL the coins there.. oh..it has the QUEEN on it!! LOL But you are NOT British... correct?? :P so confusing...LOL!!!
.
(((CHRIS))) I love your mom!! LOL I am one with family pictures all around... they "comfort" me I guess....I talk to them every once in a while.....dont tell anyone. Clutter is different story.. that would be suffocating. I have hard time though detaching from THINGS that have sentimental value....Though I keep thinking of that guy Peter from that clean sweep show... when people hang on to things because of the memory of who they belonged to....he says things like...This plate...glass....thimble collection lol..... vaccuum cleaner..(fill in the blank) is NOT your mother..brother..lover.... etc... he suggests people take a picture of themselves with the object or just the object to have the memory saved and put in album or memory box or something like that and then get rid of the object itself.... but sometimes it is really hard to part with "things" that have such meaning to you because of the connection to another.
.
♥ ♥ ♥ Colony ♥ ♥ ♥
SYTYCD tonight are you all jazzed? I am!
still hot here too, my garden has suffered badly from the heat, I have been pulling out dead plants right and left, at least the tropicals like the heat as long as I give them enough water
about clutter...don't come to my home, lots of clutter and the walls...hello...I'm married to a photographer....framed photos everywhere even the bathroom
NANCY- YES, I'm ready for SYTYCD! I'm all Jazzed is right!
.
I dumped my planter and 2 hanging baskets a week ago. Too much effort to try to keep them alive in this heat. They were starting to look spindley anyway. I was going to put new ones, but the weather just won't quit so forget it!!
ALI-KAT - I laughed at you remembering the Toonie! That's a coin worth 2 dollars for the US people. They also have a Loonie which is a 1 dollar coin. You learn something new every day! LOL!
ALI-KAT - My windows swing out so you can't put an air conditioner in the window. I have looked at those units that are portable for about 4 hundred dollars. That is too much for how long it will stay hot here. As Craig tells me I could go to a hotel cheaper.
Good Morning Everyone! OMG What a rude awakening this morning. at 8am. Cows mooing on my deck. Neighbors cows got out and decided to visit my room. Hundreds of acres around and they choose to hang at my deck. Do you know cows dont "Moo". The "MWAAAAAAWOO! Freaky sounding things.
Chris! I love your writing. I have always been a girl of few things. and when i get something new. i walk around it. takes me awhile to get to know it. to see how it fits in the house. anything. guitar, decoration, etc. But Jack brings things in willy nilly. and it overwhelms me. my house is filled with gadgets i dont know how to use.
That was the start of me feeling disorganized. and i never caught up. It is a difficult adjustment to have a house full of stuff. i dont like it. I have always been a gypsy and could put my things in suitcase and guitar case and good to go. even now. i would need my suitcase, my guitar and my dogs. Not travelling as light these days. Think ive finally put down roots.
okay i just woke and i babble. sorry.
Ali-Kat - i am writing. you arent getting them. agghh. Sucks about J. I love that Sweetie.
Erin - Nice rain dance. it worked here. but we just cut hay so no more okay? Luv U!
Chris - I know what you mean. i dont like doing shoutouts as im afraid i will miss people. There isnt anyone here that i wouldnt consider a good friend. a part of the family.
Kristen! Beck! You have no idea how much im enjoying you two. LOVE it! Kristen, Jack is proud of you too. You picked his driver. Good Call! You are making me look good with Jack too. I knew his driver came in third. Thanks. :)
Sending love to everyone!!! ♥
So theres a lot of hoopla about an olympic swimmers suit being too helpful giving him an edge. I think if they are going to enforce swimsuit rules perhaps this should be their new suit. I like it. I like it alot...
http://images.huffingtonpost.com/gadgets/slideshows/2189/slide_2189_28295_large.jpg
I feel like a mad scientist with the rain dance. Everyone who doesn't want rain, got rain and here I am dry as ever. My front yard looks like hay right now. I think I am way off with the money dance too. Hope it is working better for you CRAIG! :o)
BEDBUG---What a cute and lovely home your daughter bought! LOVED the yard and how far back off the street it is.
DAWN--One thing I learned about the heat is that if your heater/furnace has a switch for fan only you can turn that on and it will suck the hot air out of your house. I don't have that switch, so I am out of luck, but maybe you do.
DEE--That swimsuit, LOL! I bet the Olympics would see record ratings! :) How did you get the cows off your deck? Too funny!
ALI-CHRIS-NANCY-DAWN and everyone that was talking about clutter--I cannot stand "clutter" I can't function around it. But I also need pictures, things that are sentimental to me. They make me happy to see them and to remember why I bought it or where I bought it. Photos are so fabulous to look at. I watched a documentary on the writer Henry Miller and the whole interview took place in his bathroom. The walls were covered in photos and each photo had a story behind it. He said that people would go to use the bathroom and not come out forever because they were looking at the photos. I guess I am a selective clutterer. If I start to feel claustrophobic, it is time to clean out if I am feeling homey and secure, it is just right. (Now I sound like Goldilocks!)
HI TERI!!♥ ((ALI))♥
TLJEAN---((HUGS)) Thinking of you!
Have a great NIGHT ALL!! ♥♥♥
DAWN..... Seriously..... A Toonie AND a Loonie!?? !! More to learn!! LOL Who names these things!! :) I can't imagine going into the bank..cashing a check and asking If I could please have my money in LOONIES AND TOONIES ? LOL!!! To me I hear those names and only think of LOONY TUNES The cartoon series....or characters..not sure which..but the cartoons are called LOONY TUNES ...so that is what those money names remind me of...!! Not to mention being Loony myself!! Too funny to me!!
.
DEE .... Were your poor dogs going nuts? LOL
.
DAWN.... I would have to either invest in the room one or put in a new window!! LOL!!! I could physically NOT take it..:) And ERIN....your house in 90's as well?? . THAT IS SO HOT!!! Not Paris Hilton hot either!! LOL Oh I hope it cools off for you all!!
.
MRS BEAN!!! ♥ ♥ I love that story about Henry Miller..interesting!
Did you make it through the Bachelorette? I am happy for her.....they seem happy! Will see if lasts! :) I watched the next show too.....not sure what to make of it..but surely not good for your self esteem if the guy likes you just fine then lights come on and he takes off... but then again not a guy you would want in your life anyway!
.
Have a good night ALL!! SYTYCD!!
Here's a sight about Canadian money. The Loonie is a bird here in Canada. The Toonie became that because it's 2 dollars and the people sort of named it.
The Loonie: Canada's Dollar Coin: Issued...
29 Jan 2009 ... The Loonie, Canada's $1 coin, York University. The Loonie, Canada's $1 coin. The Toonie, Canada's $2 coin, Susanna McLeod ...
modern-canadian-history.suite101.com/article.cfm/the_loonie_...
It didn't work. Shoot!! Anyway you get the point. The Queen is on the other side. The Loonie is the Loon bird and the Toonie is the polar bear etc etc and then the Queen is on the other side. I'm so hot I can't think straight. Craig, Dee, Teri help me out here???
... For visual clarification of Dawn's coinage jargon...
http://www.talismancoins.com/catalog/Canada_2009_ProofSet_Coins.jpg
That heat wave must suck for Dawn, but I bet her nails look nice.
:-p
ALI--I made it through the Bachelorette! I hope they are happy, still find the dating so many at the same time weird, but maybe just me? I hope she buys him some shorts that were not made for a 7th grade boy, lol! Just Kidding!!:) Did you watch More to Love?
HEIDI--I could relate to their body issues too, but thought it would have been nice if at least a couple of them would have been large and in charge. I think everyone of them said they had been asked out on dates as a joke or been left by a man because of their size. This has never happened to me and I have had larger friends before who had lots of boyfriends and so I think it would have been nice if some of the girls would have been confident in themselves, but I guess that would not be very entertaining. I also hated seeing the first 5 girls leave. How hurt they were. Oh and the girl who jumped in the pool? LOL! My son said, "do you think she just realized she is on national tv and is trying to drown herself?" I hope that they really make this show more than they are bigger girls. Showing their weights was just a bit much to me. I mean A. did they actually weigh them? Or is it like your drivers license weight? and B. if they are going to show the larger girls weights they should show the weights of the skinny women too, because I am sure we all wonder what they weigh too. And C. I have put way too much thought into this show!!! ;o)
LOVE YOU HEIDI!!! Hope you are having a better week ♥♥♥♥
Dawn, cant help you with the Loonie Toonie thing. Im still too embarrassed to talk of it. Loony is right. i remember a beaver on the nickle and some ship on the dime. thats all i got. I shop online. I have my credit card memorized. ;)
Ali - The dogs were in bed thankfully or would have been a freak show.
Teehee Erin. Cows werent exactly on the deck. just up to it. They run when people come around. Thankfully no flowers were hurt in this process. Neighbor teased he was going to charge me for the free fertilizer. Yay a few really green spots should be appearing.
Hey Heidi!!!!
Just a warning, I'm about to post a really long comment...Get ready.
What a night I just had. :) Lately, I've been in one of those funks where you just don't understand why you're here, trying to make sense of things that have happened, etc. I went on a walk to clear my head. Some might think it's weird, but I walked over to the cemetery. I find it somewhat peaceful. I have a few loved ones there and from time to time, I pay them a visit. And it's gorgeous there when the sun is setting.
I've talked about this one girl before, Lizzie. A 14 year old girl in my neighborhood who passed away 2 years ago. I've gotten to know her family this year, but I never knew Lizzie. She's still one of my heroes. And she's been on my mind very heavy lately.
And Richard too...which I feel a little bit guilty saying, because so many people here knew him personally, and I didn't. I always admired him quietly, but never told him. Yet, I miss him..and I wish he was here.
And of course my aunt Rene...my true mom. That's all I'll say about her, otherwise I won't stop going on and on about how great she was. :P She was the best. All three of these people passed away from cancer. And all three of them are heroes of mine.
So I got to the cemetery to visit Lizzie and asked for a sign...I wanted to see a rainbow. That's what Lizzie's family does when they want a sign from her. They told me to do the same. I never wanted to because that's their thing. But I did it anyway. I got to her grave and silently asked for a sign. It's been raining all day, the sun was setting behind some storm clouds, I knew one just had to appear. Then it started downpouring, and I think "Maybe another time Lizzie." ...I get up, start walking away and then there it is...
http://i257.photobucket.com/albums/hh230/KRiSTeN_CouRTNeY/signs/07-29-09_2035.jpg
And then I saw two more...
http://i257.photobucket.com/albums/hh230/KRiSTeN_CouRTNeY/signs/07-29-09_2040.jpg
It's hard to see the one on the right, but I swear it was there! I was using my friend's camera phone because it was the best I had. But good enough for me. I had my mp3 player with me too, and Faithfully started playing right before I saw these. I fell in love with that song after Richard passed. So ANT if you're reading this, I was thinking of you tonight when I got my signs. xo.
I couldn't wait to get back, upload the pictures (i took over 30 lol) and then share it with all of you.
This is a freakin' long post lol.
But anyway, like ANT says...don't ask for a sign and then forget to look. xoxo.
(((Kristen))) thank you for sharing those beautiful photos. Rainbows are magnificent and I am so happy for you that you got your sign and then some. I'm glad you are here. I also find cemeteries comforting, maybe because they are neat and tidy and you know that the people in them truly have all the answers now. (At least I hope so) Oh and Faithfully playing....perfect! :)
Okay, I know he is a Salt Lake City local, so I am partial to that, but this solo was so good!!
Kristen
can I just say...TINGLES...rainbows as a sign that is special
(((KRISTEN))) I am so glad Lizzie came to visit with you. Those pictures are beautiful as is your story. I think they came out great especially for a camera phone..gorgeous rainbows of love for you!!
.
Thank you CHRIS and DAWN for the education :)
.
DAWN...I hope you not offended at my talk of your "coinage!"! LOL But still kind of loony to me as Dee says!! LOL SO... Do you have two dollar paper bills there? Oh I will read for myself..too hot for you to be trying to teach me Canadian money and history!! :)
.
To me the TOONIE looks like a TOKEN to go on the subway or get into a batting cage ...not a coin! LOL!!! But then again we are responsible for the Susan B Anthony dollar coin that looks almost just like a quarter and also the Sacagawea gold dollar coin neither of which anyone ever felt comfortable using but you will get as change from stamp machines etc. Of course if you try to use them anywhere...you are looked at REALLY strange even though they ARE current US currency!! LOL It is crazy.
.
((( MRS BEAN))) No I did not see that show..not sure when it is on..I will look for it!
.
Have a good night everyone!
MRS BEAN ♥ ..I LOVED that dance..and I loved Brandon tonight... He is just so talented!
I think Brandon and Kayla stole the show tonight
I think Brandon and Kayla stole the show tonight
Kristen - You are such a beautiful soul. I love everything about you. I just want to protect you from the world and give you everything you dreamed of. I wish you LOVE LOVE LOVE. You deserve it. All these hard lessons you are learning at an early age will just make you stronger. Know im always here for you. In any way you need me. ♥♥♥♥
Ali! I hope you are getting my emails now. im getting yours. You know i need my daily fix. Your Yang to my Yin.
Omg! I just watched the dance from last week, the one about breast cancer. I cried for 1/2 an hour. My good friend is fighting that battle right now and its heartbreaking. That dance just set me off.
Erin - Brandon is from Utah? Cool. That solo was one of the best ever. What is up with the guy with the pick in his hair. so silly looking. then dances like a dream. I dont think any of the dancers are standouts like Travis, Benji, or Blake. Very good though.
...and im spent..
CHRIS- A very SPECIAL thank you for finding the coins for me. I was so befuddled in the heat. I'm not joking my brain is on shive!!! It's 103F in Seattle so it's the same here. OMG!!!
.
ALI-KAT- I don't mind you teasing about the money. I was just so glad that Chris found what I wanted to show you. I get so impatient trying to find things. The Toonie replaced the 2 dollar bill about 10 yrs ago I think.
.
CHRIS- Yes, I went and got my mani & pedi so my nails look nice. The nail polish is Feeling HOT HOT HOT! I'm not kidding! LOL!

ERIN- I have to do my write up for Craig, but BRANDON should win this hands down. I said that from top 20! I love Kayla and Melissa out of the girls.
DEE--Brandon is from Miami (I think) but he lives in SLC now. Utah has some of the best dance studios and instructors in the country so a lot of people come here to train. It is the only place I have ever lived where Ballroom and dance is offered starting in Jr High and that a lot of the boys take the classes and continue on with them all the way through college. My oldest will not take them, but he has several friends who are taking them now. I am sure it is the same in other places, but most of the places I grew up dance for boys was not "cool" or really encouraged.
I am just excited to see people do such amazing things because I only dance like that in my dreams!
I agree DAWN about Brandon being the winner. I cannot believe this heat! I am just scared that Oregon is getting hit so hard because usually we get their weather a few days after them.
STEPH--Hope you had fun at the beach and cooled off! :)
Oh i just watched and have to agree. Brandon was the best by far. i think Jeanine and evan need to go.
Stay cool guys..
Dee--am I sending emails to your correct address? I had two for you and then I could only find one and not sure if it is right one?
LOVED the cow photos!!! Your captions were hilarious! :)
HELLO!!!
I am back from the beach and on my way to bed. But I had to stop by and say hi to you all! The coast was great. We left our house at 9AM and it was already 85 degrees. We got to the beach and it was a cool 64 degrees and cloudy. The highest temp at the beach reached (maybe?) 68 and the fog never lifted. We drove down the coast to another spot and it was really foggy and only 60 degrees. By the time we got home (9PM) I showered the boys and put them to bed and had a cup of tea...I was chilly. Meanwhile those that stayed in the valley saw temps of 110 degrees! YUCK! So, it was a great day. The boys had a blast and I am exhausted. I will catch up with you all in the morning.
SPECIAL THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS GOING OUT TO SHANNON. I am so sorry about the news. I keep you in my thoughts and I am still with you on the REMISSION BOUND TRAIN!!
Just wanted to share this insight of the day i received.
"The world is a great mirror. It reflects back to you what you are. If you are loving, if you are friendly, if you are helpful, the world will prove loving and friendly and helpful to you. The world is what you are."

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE
Great quote Dee
Your adorable Chris.
Glad your family had a great time @ the beach Steph.
Have a wonderful day to all!!!
HAPPY THURSDAY EVERYONE.
NANCY...Thanks for the Vegas update. I was exhausted just reading about all the walking you had to do! LOL
SHANNON...Thinking of you today and sending you hugs &hearts
BECK...Sorry to say some people are like that. Just out for what they think they can get. How come it took them so long to get in touch with you about this? Hope it all works out.
MRS. BEAN, DAWN, STEPH and anyone else roasting in the heat...It was 51 here this morning. I actually had to wear a heavy sweater! They are forecasting rain for the next 3 days! Yikes. Where did my summer go???
CRAIG...That color test totally messed with my mind and you know my mind is already messed up enough! LOL
TLJ...Hope you are feeling better today and that you are adjusting to your new meds &hearts
HELGA...So good to 'see' you.
MRS. BEAN...Did you try the money dance yet? Let me know if it's successful :)
BEDBUG...your daughter's house is just beautiful. I'm looking forward to seeing it again when it's finished!
CHRIS...I'm with you about keeping things simple and clean. I'm in the process of getting rid of furniture in rooms that I'm not in that often. After cleaning out my parents home I became very determined to downsize my 'stuff'. I do have pics on the walls but even they are limited.
DEE...I second getting that as the new suit! BTW...I signed up for the insights of the day too. I love receiving them everyday, don't you?
KRISTEN...I do believe in signs and they bring much needed comfort. &hearts
NANCY & MRS. BEAN...I loved Brandon's solo performance. I thought Kayla and Brandon were amazing last night! They have been my two favorites since the top 20 were chosen.
STEPH...I'm glad you had such a great time with your family.
ALI...I'm glad that Dawn and Chris were able to clear up the Loonie and Toonie issue. I was one of those that didn't want them to change to the coin. I always feel like I weigh an extra 5 lbs when I'm carrying them in my pocket! LOL Craig, Dee, Dawn, Heidi do you feel the same way???
HI to EMJAY, NEBBY, ANT, KANDYED, COLEEN, PAM, EF, JAX, LOIS LANE, JANINE2 AND ALL ANTS....
HAVE A GREAT DAY EVERYONE. LOVE YOU ALL.
Good Morning (((ANT))) and (((COLONY)))
.
ANT has new video on youtube looking quite adorable......but not posted here :(
.
TERI ♥ Hi right above me! Never thought about the weight of those things! :)
.
DAWN ♥ ....BIG HUGS TO YOU TODAY!
.
Happy Thursday to all of you!
I’ve been remiss this week – sorry, all. Looks like there’s been at least some conversation going on, which is good! Kristen – you’re so cute! I think you might have said more in your brief “no adult supervision” rant than you did the whole time we were together in Seattle. (Just jokes!! We had some fun chats on the trip – and even when we were quiet, it was the comfortable kind of quiet you feel with a friend, not the awkward pause silences you feel with someone you don’t know well.) GO NASCAR!!!
.
Ali-Kat: You are the sweetest!! Thanks for the compliment – there are times in the summer that I’d gladly give you my hair. I finally figured out a way to explain it the other night. I was wearing my hair down, which I rarely do in the summer because it’s so hot. It took me a while to cool off after coming in from outside. I explained, it’s like coming in from a run, then wrapping a wool scarf around your neck and being told to “cool off”. It just doesn’t work that way! LOL
.
KENNY So nice to see you checking in here at the Colony!! One of my favorite pictures from the whole Seattle trip is the one with you – I was so happy to meet you. Wish we could have spent more time together. Come to MN next summer!!
.
NANCY Thanks for the recap! What an adventure you had. I’m so glad you were able to go! HI GINGER!! We’ll always have Wichita… LOL!!
.
BECK!! Lose your Lesbian Card!! HYSTERICAL!! And, I have to agree, once Wes was gone, I was in good shape. Dude was an a** h*** and I hated every moment of “screen time” he got. LAME! LAME!! LAME!!!
.
OMG – I’m reading these in order, and trying to respond in Word, so I can copy and paste my post without missing something. BECK Holy crap, what LOSERS – Thank goodness for your insurance. That is SO AWFUL, I can’t believe they did that. CONGRATS to you for keeping a level head. It’s why you’re the best travel buddy – you are so calm and logical, nothing seems to phase you. LOA LOA LOA, it will blow over.
.
TLJ If you are checking in, I just wanted to thank you for taking the time to let us know how you’re doing. ((HUGS!!))
.
CHRIS Still loving you!! You’ve never “got nothing” as far as I’m concerned.
.
MRS BEAN I haven’t seen “more to love” yet. Should I tune in? Lemme know, I’ll trust your judgement.
.
BEDBUG YAY! A remodeling project. I loves me some good before and after pics!! LOL!! Congrats to CaityBug and BigLove. AWESOME news.
.
DEE!! HI! I want to meet you. Just had to tell you that. Maybe, really, might you please consider coming to MN next summer? PRETTY PLEASE with just a little raw sugar (you know, the little brown crystals) and some fresh berries on top? And, LMAO about the swimsuit! Talk about streamlined!! - - although in the rarely televised “Italian Men of a Certain Age” Division, the drag effect that occurred when they dove in actually pulled them backwards…
.
KRISTEN The rainbows were STUNNING – how beautiful! You were definitely channeling lots of LOA vibes that day, wow. So cool! I’m so glad you got to take that all in. Thank you for sharing it here!
.
DEEChris is going to have some competition, your adoption papers aren’t finalized yet! LOL!! We’ll share custody, and you can take turns living in Seattle and Minneapolis. K? K. Now that that’s decided…LOL!!
.
Hi, HELGA! Such a treat to see you here!
.
HI, TERI!!! You are always so good about greeting everyone. Hope this summer is going well for you – good luck with the downsizing. I should give that a go one of these days. I tend to be of the mindset “but how much will it cost to replace this if I get rid of it?”…but if I don’t NEED it, or USE it, why would I need to REPLACE it? LOL!!
.
HUGS TO ALL!!! Hi to everyone who posted, everyone who WILL post, and to all OBSERVANTS!!!
CRAIG! I think you saw this on FB before you went on "break" - but your cleaning vibe must have rubbed off, since I managed to clean out my closet for the first time in recent memory...it feels so good! I can FIND STUFF in there now. What?? Quite handy. Sending xoxo and some nice under the chin scratches for Argus. (What the heck, for you too, if you'd like some!) :o)
((ANT))
((Colony))
((Kristen)) Thanks for sharing the photos and your walk. I appreciated the 'long post warning'. :-)
((DAWN)) I was bad and didn't record SYTYCD. I will blame the heat also I was in 'cleaning' mode. And I may have seen Star Trek (again) at the cheap theatre. lol
Terrible excuses I know. Glad you got your mani/pedi!
As for the adoption of Dee I'm afraid neither Chris or DrDonna qualify. Darn. Shucks. Shame, really.
I believe you have to be a resident of Canada so officially DAWN, CanadianGalHeidi and I will be sharing custody.
I feel so bad (as I adjust my cape and top hat, twirl my moustache while arching my right eyebrow and smirking an evil smirk). :-P :-P :-P :-P :-)
((DRDonna)) I am so glad you tackled your closet. My new 'storage' device is a garbage bag. Then the 'storage' device is left on the curb for the items in the storage device can be 'stored' somewhere else. I do recycle when I can. But some stuff just needs to be chucked!!
This top hat is making my head sweat.
Gross.
As I divest myself from the 'evil', moustache twirling, eyebrow arching, top hat and cape wearing person I became in my last post...I can only look back with fondess at my time in this persona.
I could never tie damsals to railway tracks. The Railway Authority said it wasn't nice. So instead, if the Damsals hadn't seen the most recent season of the Bachelorette...I would make them watch that from beginning to end...and before I left I whisper in their ear: "She picked Ed".
Evil, I know.
Have a great Thursday!
:-)
DONNA--so great to see your name today! Umm, I have no idea about that show, lol! I want to say don't watch it, but really it is not any worse than the regular Bachelor. My only complaints are that I feel they exploit the women by showing their weights and I swear they must have fed them some of their lines. The Bachelor says his favorite food is, "anything thick and juicy" with a straight face, I might add! :) The man is nice and he seems genuine, but he was pretty aggressive in getting kisses for it being the first night and so I am a little worried about it becoming the big girls are easy because they don't like themselves syndrome. I don't hate it or cringe anymore or less at this show than I did watching what I did of The Bachelor. Also I hated that they kept referring to them as "real" women. As if all women are not real women. And some of the women seem really bitter and made comments referring to other women as skinny b****es. I will be watching because dang it, once I start a show, I'm committed, lol! If you watch, let me know so we can compare notes! Oh and to me it just seems like reinforcing lies to have the women keep saying they can't date, no men find them attractive when we all know that is not true.
DEE--Um, now you have to go to the next picnic, everyone is adopting you! :) We won't tell them that I already did! ;o)
CRAIG--who knew you were so dastardly? I so want to see you dressed up like that now! :) Thanks for the big smile! ♥
OOh, Dastardly Deeds being done! Oh my, I do so love the excitement - it puts a nice flush in my cheeks!
Donna. Craig. Back off all of you. I called dibs on Dee first.
You can be foster people instead..
You better watch it. All of you.
:-p ♥
Now, where did I put my smelling salts? I do declare, I may just faint dead away if things get any more titilating in here!
.
(Okay, I admit it, I just wanted an excuse to use the word "titilating". It's just so...titilating! LOL!!)
Well what nice posts to wake up to.
Doc i would be thrilled to meet you.
Teehee as much as i love the adoption talk. i think Doc meant to say Kristen. and i think joint custody for us all would be appropriate. plus i would probably be tempted to take advantage. "Chris! Donna gave me ice cream whenever i wanted." Why do i picture myself hanging dangerously from the monkey bars and Doc reprimanding me. I am potty trained but do tend to draw on walls in the bathroom. i run around naked and do spontaneous happy dances and yell at cows. Still want me? LOL I love you guys.
okay i tried to scroll up and take notes. next think i knew i was drawing a pic and then realizing how bad i was at it. started playing guitar. aghhh. would be funnier if it wasnt true.
Beck! Kenny! Kandyed! what everyone else said. Sending lots of love to y'all. So what was Kandyed surgery. Did they remove her blogging fingers? Come back Kandyed!
LOVE YOU COLONY!!!
Okay, well that does it then. Chris had Dee Dibs. You can't really argue that. I still "call" Flag day, and Boxing Day as my official Dee holidays. :o)
Dastardly and titilating in one blog.. LOve it!!!
Some names have been changed to protect the innocent. Another example of the fun people I get to talk to all day long:
.
[13:57:33] “SYBILL”: i filled out this information a bit ago: my story goes, i live in cali with an unlisted number and a ACME PHONE COMPANY customer called my number and left a profain message on my phone. i emailed your co and they sugg that i do this chat, which i did a few hours ago. the woman i chatted with gave me the link to the national do not call list. not helpful at all. i am not complaining about a telemarketer, i am complaining about a ACME PHONE COMPANY customer who called and swore on my line.
[13:59:07] “DOC”: I will be happy to assist you.
[13:59:08] “DOC”: You should have been given the number to the Annoyance Call Bureau. The number is 1-800-582-0655.
[13:59:46] “SYBILL”: thank you for getting it right! i appreciate it. can i file a complante with ACME PHONE COMPANY too?
[14:00:38] “DOC”: No, I'm sorry. We have no control over the use of someone's phone service.
[14:01:27] “SYBILL”: okay, but if someone makes annoying calls cannot the co cancel their service?
[14:01:47] “DOC”: No, we can't.
[14:02:16] “SYBILL”: okay, i did a paid trace online and i found out who owns this phone, can you tell me if the number is cell or landline?
[14:02:31] “DOC”: No, ma'am, I'm sorry, I cannot.
[14:03:00] “SYBILL”: can you please tell me why my email told me that i would need the number of the caller and my number and to offer that to this chat line?
[14:04:17] “DOC”: I do not know why you were referred to this chat service for the situation you described, other than the fact that we could provide you with the number to reach the Annoyance Call Bureau. We are here to assist with pricing and promotions on the ACME PHONE COMPANY web site.
[14:04:52] “DOC”: I apologize for the inconvenience.
[14:04:51] “SYBILL”: do you have to be 18 to get a phone
[14:04:57] “DOC”: Yes.
[14:05:09] “SYBILL”: thanks for your time.
[14:05:27] “DOC”: You're welcome.
Sending many prayers to SHANNON, JANINE (in Cali) & JANINE'S SISTER who is undergoing brain surgery today.
HI DR. DONNA...Great to 'see' you here too!
HI ALI. I looked down and there you were! LOL
CRAIG...I wanna share custody of DEE too!!!!! Can I huh? Can I huh? DEE, Don't tell anyone that I already do! shhhhhh
Adding my prayers to Steph's for Shannon, Janine and Janine's sister.
DONNA--Your dastardly deeds comment has put the song, "dirty deeds done dirt cheap" into my head! :) LOL at just wanting to use the word titillating!
Loved the name change to Sybil!
Erin - Can you imagine? "Yes,hello, Phone Company? This lady just swore at me. Please disconnect her phone." "Why, certainly, Ma'am, right away!" (click)
.
I'm afraid there are days I'd be without phone priviliges if that were an option. LOL!
**poppin head in thru the window... looks around, see's her chair.... is it really still here??....dare I venture back..... hummmm
Oh, please DOOO, Vancouvergirl!!!
DONNA--the power you could have at your fingertips! :) I actually got a phone call today and the number said *** 666-5666. Um, not answering a phone call from the devil! J/K! They did not leave a message.
Vancouvergirl!! Yay now we just need Jazzy and Ginger to start making snacks and the whole house will fill up again!
DR Donna's Quote of the Day:

And a few other favorites:

"Most people don't know that there are angels whose only job is to make sure you don't get too comfortable and fall asleep and miss your life."
.
"I've always liked the time before dawn because there's no one around to remind me who I'm supposed to be -- so it's easier to remember who I am."
.
"I don't really like coffee, she said, but I don't really like it when my head hits my desk when I fall asleep, either."
Hello ANT (batting eyelashes)
.
Hello ANTlings!
.
I'm home! I'm home! I'm home!
.
did'cha miss me?
.
We had a BLAST!
.
A BLAST OF HEAT that is!
.
OMG! Is Vegas HOT or what?
What a racket some smart ass came up with!
"Let's build some casinos (with really good air conditioning) and have hookers... WAY out in the desert where it is SO HOT if they don't come in to gamble ALL their money away...their eyes will bulge out and explode as their skin is burnt off???"
.
Yeah, it was that hot! The top of my head is sunburned! The highest was Tuesday at a mere 112F. I'm not kidding! I don't know how the natives can stand it?
.
Also, I had to put lotion on everyday! I'm from Oklahoma...we have humidity in the 70s-80s% all year long. No wonder those women age prematurely! They are literally drying up!
.
We ate at some of the best restaurants I have ever eaten at, and we have fantastic restaurants here in OK.!
.
Brazilian BBQ!!!! OMG! I'm going to write up a blog just for them!
.
I have to make dinner soon, but I'll be back later. I gotta add some of the comical things Nancy so eloquently left off her recount of the story! LOL
Hi, Ginger! Have a great dinner. See you later. :-)
Okay, Loverpies, I'm headed home for the day. Hope to see some of y'all later, here on the blog.
xxoo
We can share Dee for now, but I get the mustached Canadian and his cat.
They belong to me now.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=df78spHGRCI&feature=autoshare_twitter
hopefully that works
I spent the day at my daughters pool keeping cool
SYTYCD
they voted off the ones I thought would go last week, interesting
Ginger-------------you know...what happens in Vegas STAYS in Vegas
LOL
SYTYCD- I loved tonights show with all the old dancers. I loved Twitch and Katy and Will!!!! Actually all of them, but the dance with Twitch and Katy made me laugh to remember it last year.
.
I feel Evan should have gone home, but I can't vote so have no choice. I hope Brandon wins the whole thing. If not him then Kayla!
GINGER- I can relate about the hot temps. It's so hot here that it's broke the history record. I have never seen it this hot! I love hearing about Vegas so I hope Nancy lets you tell the stories! LOL! It's just fun! ♥
Ginger! so glad you had fun. Oh i would love to go to a good restaurant.
Donna. i am going to try real hard to go to colony picnic next year. Assuming i can get across that pesky border. I havent flown in so long i would have to study up on it. What is St Paul like? Is it a busy city? Im excited thinking about going.
Ali, that gives you a year to prepare so pitter patter. :) ♥♥♥♥
Teri? Nebby? Dawn? Heidi? Craig? VG? who else is thinking about going? YOu dont want me to be the Canadian rep do you? WAAAHAAHAAA!!
Someone will have to supervise ERin and I. and you know Donna will be the instigator. or i see trouble... goood trouble..
*I've decided to write this in short snippets instead of all at once.
It makes me brain hurt! I'm still SO tired!
~
Ray and I started our trip at 1pm Saturday by leaving for the local airport. (Mine really started 2 days before getting our clothes ready, cleaning out the fridge, feeding the animals, watering plants, checking reservations, etc...)
.
We got to the airport the two hours early like they ask and then you wait...
our flight was for 3:30pm
We left relatively on time. Now I haven't flown since 2001 before 9-11. Many things had changed! LOL
We got to Dallas late, so we had to hoof it to our terminal which is on the other side of the airport! Now they have these tram trains... golly! We arrived at our terminal only to learn they changed gates and we had to go all the way back to where we had just came from! Then when we got there, they changed our gate again!
It was only six gates down, but damn, now I'm exhausted!
Our flight was late... we left late and arrived late. By the time we got to Las Vegas it was midnight our time, 10pm local time. We finally got to our hotel about 10:30 and then after check in and bags, it was 11:30.
.
We decided to walk around for awhile and see some lights. Out on the streets was crazy!
Elvis was there of course!
I couldn't tell the tourist from the hookers!
.
There were these card snappers...
young men who stand about 10ft. from each other ALL the way down the strip and pass out cards of scantly clad (sometimes nude) 'escorts'. If you don't take the card the snap it back on the pack hence 'card snappers'. They were not trying to hand me one so after a block or two I reached out and took one...well they all started giving them to me after that and Ray yells back "Stop it Ginger' your just encouraging them! I thought it was funny but, Ray is an old fart! LOL
.
We got back to the hotel about 1:30am local time 3:30 home time.
.
Ray went down about an hour later. I stayed up and watched a PBS documentary about Cuttle Fish. OMG! It was so interesting! The photography was stunning too! I think I finally nodded off about 5:30am local time and 7:30 home time.
.
Now keep in mind that I have fibromyalgia and take flexeril and elavil to reach R.E.M. sleep so my body can recharge and repair...
.
So 8:30am the phone rings! Ray answers and rolls over and says "It's your friend Nancy, she and her husband are down stairs"!
.
I said "No, she is just kidding with you"! He said "Well here, she wants to talk to you". Well...guess who was down stairs???
I was still groggy and goofy an hour later when low and behold our loving BSA Nancy/SoCal and her newly trim and handsome hubby were on my door step!!!!
.
.
TO BE CONT....
GINGER- I am waiiting for the continued story. This is good. Just like being there with you. LOL!
((ANT))
((Ginger is up all night)) I'm looking forward to more stories about your trip to Vegas!
Loverpies? I think I heard DrDonna say Loverpies! I love a pie! Blueberry...apple...cherry....Mmmmmm... pie.
:-)
Have a fantastic Fur-eye-day!
Geesh I always miss the partays.
Happy Friday afternoon people!
I am off to run errands but wanted to stop in and smile at ya!
STEPH- A special Hello to you and thank you so much for the mail. It was a real surprise and thrilled me to no end! ♥ ♥
STEPH- You have gmail!!!
DAWN
I am so happy you got your mail!
{{{{{hugs}}}}}
Have a Fantastic Friday eve. & weekend to ALL!!
IDK what's got into some of us on this cleaning out kick lately, but I've been doing it as well.
Office.
Drawers.
Today put in new shoe shelves.Still not enough...but cubbies for the rest. Not as disorganized.Used to keep them in the boxes...but ended up not wearing them...because I couldn't see what were in them.
Should have done like that one organizational show and they put a pic. of the shoes on the outside of the box.......hahaha...I seriously may have done that @ one time in my life...I don't think so any longer.
BB your dinners sound so good your making for daughter and son-in-law while they're remodeling(or whatever). That's alot of work and I'm sure they appreciate it.
What a good mom.
Listen to ALOT of talk radio and heard this quote mentioned from a new person I started listening to...but realy liked it...and probably didn't get it 100% correct..(so Let me know(didn't want to look it up).
"What lies behind us, and what lies befor us is minuscule to what lies within us".
Walter Emerson
HELGA & BEDBUG- Am I in a Senior moment again? What is Bedbug cooking & dinners? Is it somewhere else other than here? LOL! It's too hot for me to think.
Behold, colony, tonight's view from my balcony:
http://i257.photobucket.com/albums/hh230/KRiSTeN_CouRTNeY/07-31-09_2041.jpg
Happy Friday Everyone!!
KRISTEN--what a cool picture. When the sky is all pink my mom would tell us the Angels were baking cookies. My first thought at seeing the sky in your photo was, "I wonder what the Angels are having for dinner?" Hope you are doing good! ♥
HELGA-- I loved that quote. Thanks for sharing and really nice to see you! ♥
TLJEAN--Hope you are doing okay! Check in if you can, but if you can't just know I am thinking of you! ♥
GINGER--I am loving your Vegas trip! Thanks for sharing, can't wait for more! ♥
DEE--LoL at us needing supervision! I really do hope to see as many people as possible at the next picnic!! ♥
DAWN--has it cooled down at all? I saw a weatherman talking about a space station orbiting and causing the heat wave? Don't know if it is true, but if it is...I need to have a talk with outer space. ;o)
TERI--Hope you are having a good Friday night! And enjoying your sweater weather. SO jealous! :) ♥
Have a great weekend ALL!
Hello, party people! Well, you know how I love theme dinners, and Sunday starts "Shark Week," so let's get our thinking caps on!
Ginger - nice to hear of your adventures. i was feeling for you with all the walking. Hope you are recovered.
Another lazy day on the home front. I tied up my tiger lilies and got bright orange stain all over me. who knew that stain was so strong. soap and water didnt take it all off. my belly and legs are orange. There goes my playboy gig.
Okay Doc. I checked out your city. Man not only is it one big city but its two! One of the biggest cities around. Karumba. Hecticness comes mind. I guess most of you are city peeps so like big cities. but i relax out of cities not in. I can imagine everyone wanting to shop and me hanging in some quiet park with a homeless person. searching for a place with no concrete.
okay that sounds kind of fun. Hey we could finally have a real pool party. oh my mind goes.
Yes Erin it would be great if more NBCers there too. Ginger do you think you would make it? that would be so cool.
Nice Pic Kristen.
Have a great weekend everyone.
Big Brother small Spoiler alert!!

Hot chicken wings, Hot Sauce, jalepenos, red peppers. Shake N Bake has Cajun flavour. OOo! Cajun food!
What about things with CRUNCH? Carrots, celery, apples...
I don't know if that works...
Still fun to think up silly things. :-)
CRAIG- Good answers for shark week! LOL!
Sorry ANTfolks
.
I babysat my grandbaby Ella tonight, so I didn't get a chance to write more about our trip. I did upload some pictures to myspace though! :)
.
I still haven't learned how to upload pictures to Face Book :(
.

Have a Great Saturday!
There’s been some talk about making our own combined cookbook with favorite family recipes and such. I took the liberty of setting up a test page at http://www.epicurious.com/ to see if the concept could work.
It can and it will.
They allow users to share recipes, post on each others pages, etc… similar to MySpace and Facebook.
Anyone can go to the community tab at epicurious… click “find members” and search for the username: antcolony (as one word).
I think if enough of us have the password and share responsibility of updating, we can cover the “admin” role pretty easily. I didn’t post the password here, but friends can email each other and get that out.
This way folks not interested in posting on epicurious can still contribute their recipes by posting anywhere else we gather… Myspace - Facebook - NBC… you get the idea.
I’m curious if the interest is still among us? Recipes of all sorts - goodies and treats up the wazoo!
They even have a fancy feature that accumulates all of your recipes into a ready-to-print recipe box item. Very nifty!
♥ I can hear a pepper-steak sizzling...
and I can smell someone's cookies.
Good Morning Everyone!
Well another interesting start to the day. i swear there is an animal conspiracy to wake me up in the morning. First a Raven on my window cawing. then cows mooing at my deck. Today my dog who likes to sleep in entry way was barking up a storm. i got up to see he had cornered a squirrel in a cupboard, who must have come in thru the doggie door.
Only way to save the squirrel was open cupboard door and squirrel ran right at me and hid in other corner. i took my dog in and closed the door. Hope the squirrel found his way out. Guess i will just be thankful it wasnt a skunk.
CHRIS- What a great idea. Now I have to think of a good recipe that everyone would like. I hope I get the jargon of the page etc. Thank You for doing that. I'm going to save it to my favorites if I can so I can keep going back. Hugs to you.
.
HAPPY SAT EVERYONE. Have a safe long weekend.
CHRIS- Please help me or others who aren't as computer savey. I went on the site and put at the top search and antcolony did not come up??? Do we sign in as ourselves at the left hand side? I'm sorry I'm so stupid about all this, but I want to do it.
Dawn, Go to the community tab at epicurious…
click “find members” in the drop-down menu
search for the username: antcolony (as one word).

Hey Guys,
well im in a bit of a funk lately. so frustrated by medical system. Hard watching friends suffering without decent medical help. Oh i wish i was a doctor. I would stick by my patient thru thick and thin. and ensure they got help.
No im not bashing US system again. All systems. Docs dont have a clue how to treat patients. just guessing and refusal to look at alternative medicine. well not all just western medicine.
Now you can hire cancer coaches to get you thru stuff. but i cant believe yuo have to pay for that service. Shouldnt it be our basic rights to know of all medical options not just their chosen preference.
I cannot understand the US resistance to universal healthcare. it didnt break our country or have us overtaxed. I was raised believing health care is basic right. shocks me any civilized country would not have it. One shouldnt have to fear getting hurt and getting big bill on top of time missed at work. I just wish medical included alternative medicine.
k, thanks for listening...
Nebby, Ali-Kat - I bet you 2 have some great healthy recipes you could share if you are up to it. ♥
(((DEE))) just cause. :)
Love you lots. xo.
