Creed I Truth

Today we begin a look at the creed. Truth is first up. Also, take a look at what you all did for me. Luvpug sent me the link. Thank you. I am so moved by your generosity and the fact that you are always thinking of others...that's what makes this place so amazing. LuvPug wants you to know if you weren't included in this video, it's not to late. Send her some pics and a few words and she'll do her best to get you included. Me loves.

YOU HAVE INFINITE POWER & INFINITE POTENTIAL. REPEAT.

"Strength is more than being able to lift heavy things. Faith isn't just something you have when things are going great. Living in the moment requires no thought. Love should never come with conditions. Happiness is a choice. Failure is always the first step toward success. Change starts inside." --the ant colony

Where is everyone? Did I get left behind?

I absolutely LOVED, LOVED, LOVED it! Way Cool! (((((ANT)))))

Loved it LuvPug! I would love to share the pics from the "No on H8" night. Please let me know your email address & I'll send em to you for next time. Thanks.

That was a really cute video!! I enjoyed seeing all of those bright shining faces. Too bad I wasn't part of it. ;)

LuvPug you did an amazing job! My daughter and I loved watching it. Although I do have to say, Phil pick a hair style already! LOL Sorry couldn't resist... :P

:( I still can't watch ANT's vblog. Am I the only one or what?

What a beautiful video! I wish I was in it, but I LOVED seeing so many of the colony members, and the music was a great choice. Hi BECK! HI RITA B! HI RENIN77! DEE--I saw your post in area 51 and wow are you brave to share, I hope you are not regretting it. I really admire you for dealing as well as you are with the situation. I have been thinking about what I would do in that situation and I cannot even finish a complete thought on it, because it makes me so angry. For now all I can offer are {{{{HUGS}}}} to you and your son.

Ph!l can do whatever he wants with his hair as long as we can see those dimples....S I G H .....
I can't see the other video yet, but I will when I can
I am doing the salad tonight for dinner, ok Scraps?
a year in the colony was fANTastic!
BSA

New me 2.0 UPDATE:
I did 65 minutes on the Wii Fit tonight! 5 days in a row and I have lost almost 3 pounds already! I am super excited because I don't feel like I am working out. Tuesdays and Thursdays there is a group of us walking at work so that will be my variation in working out! I did pretty well on the eating (although I had to have a large coffee with this being the first day back to work.)

OK...off to watch the video!

BECK & JANICE & JPB & STEEL MAGNOLIA
How was school for you all today?

got to see the video finally
speaking the truth comes easy to me as it was how I was brought up

BTW I liked the jokes

I can't see the second video yet, so I will stop back in later. WAY TO GO STEPH!!!!

Hugs all around and thanks for being here

First day back was really good. It was icy and cold on the bus! But, the kids were fairly calm and for the most part happy to be back. BTW, I can read your posts at school throughout the day, I just can't sign in to post back. But, it was nice when I had a break to see how things were going with everyone. Soooo...little Beck is watching...LOL.

{{{{{COLONY KAT}}}}}
I love the quote!!

BECK
Glad you had a good day. My kids were fairly calm too....they are tired from having to get up so early. Hopefully that will last most of the week! LOL

NANCY
Your new fridge sounds delightful.

BEDBUG
Loved the letter that Heidi's body wrote her. You are amazing!

HEIDI

CHRIS
Loved seeing all the posts! I have missed you. And losing so much weight with subtle changes? Very awesome my friend!

CRAIG
I thought about you and Dawn while I watched the Superstar Dancers of the World. It was amazing!

To all others that post or observe....much love and many hugs to you. 2009 is your year! Get out there and take it!

Okay, I have an answer to the reason why there is no rule book for life. Here it is, it's a Beckism...none of us, and I mean none us believed our parents when they warned us against things that could be potentially harmful to us physically or emotionally (okay, there probably are some goody two shoes out there who did, but most of us did not.) We learned those things by experiencing them ourselves. My daughter, who is my best friend, is a prime example...she's 21 now. She was about to graduate from high school when she had to come to me and tell me she was pregnant. She had been taught better, she knew better, she had even promised herself better...but, when push came to shove, she did it anyway. Her words were, "Mom, now I know you were right, and I knew that then, but I have to learn these things for myself if I'm going to grow and mature and become a stronger, better person." Was the timing right, no....was it with the right person for her...heck no...would we change it for the world? Never. She and I grew together in amazing ways. She is an unbelievable mother and I am so proud of her, although I will be glad when she finally gets married and gets out of my house so I can set my drums back up...LOL. And, the best part of it all is that there has been a blond/curly headed little two year old boy running around the last two weeks singing jingle bells, ABC's, and his made up "ANTY, ANTY, ANTY" song when ANT was on during Christmas. All that to say this, if we had that rule book for life, would it have saved her from alot of heartbreak and me from ALOT of stress? ABSOLUTELY! But, we also would have missed out on countless lessons and blessings that came out of that rule being broken...things we could have never, ever experienced by reading a book.

Man... do I miss you all♥
STEPH♥ I am so happy and proud! YAY! I don't like exercise in any form... but dancing a little walking, swimming (while on a float). I did ask Keith to check Lisa Renna's new DVD out for me... I saw her teaching the jive and it looked so fun!!
Neblina... sorry to read you don't feel well. XOXO Feel better soon.
Luvpug... everyone, that was so special. You are all so fantastic. I will have to watch it several times... really, really sweet.
I am off to watch vid. #2

Hello Ant and Colony.
.
Nancy - I saw the dimples first!! LOL

Vid#2 I love it here so much... ANT Thank you for walking through this with us. I struggle with the "except when to do so would injure another" and someone told me "that includes me..." In other words, if I need to open the lines of communication and be honest, yet there is some complication that could cause my loved ones, including me more distress... it's ok to move on. It might present itself again with more painless circumstances. I do agree though it is important to be honest and keep my side of the street clean... free of resentment and away from fear. If I am fearless in my daily walk (regarding resentment causing anxiety)keeping it simple... I can be happy, joyous and free.
Goodnight Colony...

{{{{{JANINE}}}}} Miss you a lot and please know I send love to you, Keith, Ben, and Justin every day! Hope you are all doing well.

Video #2....
Life's lessons are for each person to live and learn in their own due time. I sincerely believe that there is a plan for each and every person on the Earth. I think the lessons, no matter how hard or how easy, have got to be learned when that person is ready and willing to accept whatever consequence may come with it. Nobody said life was easy. If we all had the same manual on how to live life how boring would that be? I would not enjoy that at all. I love the uniqueness in each person.

Video #1....You all are amazing! LUVPUG the video made me smile from the inside out....thank you for that!

OK...enough of me. I am off to bed. I wish you all pleasant dreams and a wonderful Tuesday!!!

First of all LuvPug.....you rock and great job.

Second. I have not read the creed completely as a means of using neglegence in any defense should I need one.

Please forgive me for that as I have perhaps violated a time or two.

LuvPug, great job! amazing, thank you

Beautiful job, Lovepug.
Does anyone know how to contact lovepug should we wish to be included after the fact? I'd like to send a photo.

ANT, if we had a mannuel of life we not appreciate the lessons we learn along the way. We would all be the same. Then there would be no ANT, how sad would that be. Things that happen to us shape our lives.

Hey guys, as you know I'm eating healthy. Well I just hit the first hurled. Its 1am I'm up and hungry. I still have a headache. There is a lot of not so great stuff I could be eating. I have sat here for the past hour trying to ignore the craving for food. Then I thought. This is what a diet feels like. I opened my frig and now I'm eating! For the first time in my life I made a GREAT CHOICE. I made myself a veggie snack. I have carrots, celery, cucumbers, and bell pepper with carb free blue cheese dressing. And only the suggested serving not a boat load. You know what it taste good, filling, and good for me. DING DANG.

BECK, JANINE2, DEE: I'm kind of an idiot tonight and I posted to you all in Area 51, if you could please take a peek back there. Sorry.

((ANT! I'm looking forward to the update on your appointment on Thursday.

I was watching 'The Mom Song' that someone posted yesterday in the comment section. We have all rolled our eyes at our parents.

When you are a teenager .....you know 'everything'. No one can possibly give you new information.

"The way to gain a good reputation is to endeavor to be what you desire to appear."
Socrates (469 BC - 399 BC)

This advice is centuries old...and yet keeps coming back in different forms. To me it sounds like : "Fake it. Until you make it".

I think the lessons are written out...we simply wish to experience this life for ourselves.

We want the "Eureka!" moment.

:-)

((DEE))
Thanks for sharing your situation. Don't people know NOT to mess with someone's Mom?????

((DAWN)) Good for you for sticking up for yourself. You are the best judge on what is right for YOU. Sorry the appointment was such a 'bust'.

Steph...I'm glad you were thinking of DAWN and I as you were watching the new Dance show.

I didn't like it.

Not even a little bit. I thought it was long...had bad lighting....The stage was too big for the dancers. And the judges were...well....I think one of them was asleep.
The Lord of the Dance host had a wonderful twinkle in his eye, but if I had stayed to watch him 'go to the scorebored' one more time....I think I would also be alseep.

STEPH- I have to ditto CRAIG'S write up on the dance show. I feel bad about it, but I just don't like it at all. It doesn't move fast enough for me. LOL! I'm glad you enjoyed it.
.
LUV PUG- Wonderful video! Priceless!
.
ANT- We don't think when we are younger that anyone knows ANYTHING! LOL! My Mom is dead now, but I can't tell you how many times I tell my husband, "If my Mom could see me now." You know some wisdom she gave us earlier in life.
.
BECK- I love that you'll lose your lesbian card if you watch the Bachelor! Too funny!! Did you see Deanna comes back next week? OMG!!! Now we HAVE to watch that right?
.
TRESA & CRAIG- I am surprised about Craig Ferguson getting married in Vermont too!
.
SCAPPESMOM- When I'm up at night I usually end up eating grapes. Vegetables in the middle of the night? Wow! You are good! Ha!

MRS. BEAN- Absolutely LOVE the Angel book you sent ANT. Just lovely. How thoughtful. You are such a nice person always. Thanks for your hugs. {{{{ERIN}}}}}

DEE- Let us know what happens about your situation. I'm a bit worried about you. What did Jack say?
.
NANCY & VAN GIRL- Can I be third in line to swoon about Phil's dimples? Luv him!!!

BEDBUG- Your shoes sound nice for the wedding. I know what you mean about getting something you see in case they aren't there again. You'll end up with how many pairs? LOL!
.
JANINE2- HUGS TO YOU. It sure sounds like you had a nice New Years.

KANDYED- I have tried to request you as a friend on myspace, but when I click on your name it takes me to my myspace???
.
GOODNIGHT EVERYONE
.
Time for me to try to get some sleep.
.
COLONY KAT- Thinking of you. I hope you get an answer.

(((Stephyyy))) Good to see you!! ♥

I'll second Nancy's 'Ph!l & the dimple' comment... I've always had a certain affection for that dude. I'm not afraid to admit it.

I'm so lucky to have met little Luv Angie Pooh. The night I walked into the room, she was all sparkly eyes and smiles. That's all I remember. :-p A smile as big as this world, and bright eyes... she was gleaming.

We were like old school friends and we had literally chatted a few times online and then on the phone.

She's as real as she seems online too. She's yummy. :-p

Speaking of yummy people - YAYYYYYY @ Scrappysmom for that veggie plate! Awesome!

With all my tea comments yesterday, it was a struggle to make the day without chocolate. Practicing what I preach is a bitch sometimes.

:-p

I made it, no thanks to "oolong tea." I'm sorry but the word "oolong" is just too weird to taste good.

(without sugar)

Well, Happy Tuesday gang! :-)

Kim, 70 pounds?! Good for you!! I'm sending buzz off vibes to those last 20 that are hanging on to you.

Beck #1 all day, congratulations! I love that watching the Bachelor causes your lesbian card to be taken away. I told Heady a few months ago that I was going to take her lesbian card away because she had never seen Rent. Yes, that situation has been rectified.

Scrap, you done it up right! Keep it up girl!! By the way, should you ever need a friend to "talk you off the ledge" of say, some snack food that speaks to you and is longing for your touch, call me. I'm here!

Thank you, Janine2. Mr. Lane has a swimming pool of crazy for me to splash around in every year. I really kinda like that guy. :) You, Ben and Keith really are something. That was the best gift!

Dee, when you are upset about anything, we are here, just share, no hesitations. Being a mama bear is completely normal. I hope this thug cleans up his act so you don't have to show him what you're made of.

Luvpug, what a sweet gift!!

Nebby are you reading this? Do you feel better? I hope so!! Sending virtual chicken soup your way.

ColonyKat, I was going to send you spoons today, but I think I'd also like to give you some thick embroidery thread. Hang on girl!!

I really liked Diet Tribe. Did anyone else watch? The girls have a great friendship. I think everyone, regardless of the situation, should have a support group like theirs. And of course Stacy was wonderful.

Steph, I agree with your explanation about life's lessons. You're pretty smart. :D

And you, ANT! Yes, you get your very own comment...on YOUR blog! LOL! I LOVE that you are joking again!! Laughter is good for the soul. Part 1 of the creed is very important to me. There is a HUGE difference between being honest and being honestly hurtful. Some things are simply better left unsaid. We may think "If my spouse were cheating, I'd want to know." but the reality is, they should spill, not someone else. XOXO
ANT, have I told you lately that I love you?? Well I do! And by the way....a BILLION times more than CGHeidi! :D

BECK CONGRATSSSSS ON #1!!!! both vids were great!!!!! the first on makes me wanna meet more colony ppl who want to comeover ????

Before I leave to update the refreshments list, I wanted to let HEADY know something!
.
I figured out something on mogulus this morning that might help you (and others - and especially me!)the next time we do a ANT FAN CLUB chat 'get together' with live hosts / hostesses.
.
You can go FULL SCREEN with the chat portion. All of a sudden my eyes went 'ahhhhhhh' - I can see without squinting or getting a crick in my neck!
.
The only down side is that you can't type while it's in full screen mode - but I think it would be awesome when you host - you can just talk to us (no need to type) and have the screen in Full mode.

Okay, that was my little bit of happy news for this morning.

GOOD MORNING COLONY
BSA

Good Morning ANT and COLONY!
.
I agree with several others that already posted.....rules written out would not be followed nor would we be afforded the lasting lessons and meanings to us that actual living experiences provide. If it were all laid out for us..we would never grow or appreciate the strength and clarity we gain after adversity hits us. It surely would be nice though NOT to have to learn sooooo much the hard way....

AMI..Thanks for the tea and also ..I think YOU went there...don't GUY there... LOL!!!
.
BECK.....watched The Bachelor! But don't tell anyone. LOL Loved the story about your grandson.

DAWN... Beck....what do you think about Deanna coming back? OH... that is just crazy..... she had her chance...is this stuff real?? Are we nuts to even watch? LOL
.
DAWN..you had me LOL at your DR comment.. "go fly a lead kite!" though I know it really is not funny. So many people do though sometimes blindly listen to them...which can be scary. It would be nice if THEY listened once in a while! :)

Sorry if I missed you - please let me know what you like so I can add you onto the list or change your item.

Healthy tip.......Add pomegranate juice to your day.....It benefits your blood vessels and your heart. It lowers cholesterol....and lowers blood pressure. A glass of pomegranate juice has more antioxidants than red wine, blueberries, or green tea!

If you have a Costco near you they sell a concentrate called Naturally Pomegranate by Agro Labs.... Just one little ounce of it a day is equal to juice of 15 pomegranates. Also sold online at http://www.vitacost.com/Agro-Labs-Naturally-Pomegranate if anyone interested. :)

oh and By the way speaking of the Truth..I LUV YOU ALL XOXO

I remember one blog where you said that life is all about being banged around, learning lessons, growing, getting happy, and then being banged around again because it's how we learn. The easy way isn't always the best way.
It would make life a lot easier if we memorized everything we read in a book, but I don't think you could really be happy if you've never felt sadness. There are some lessons I've learned from other people's experiences, but I've learned more from my own. What would be the point to life if we had all the answers without any experience? I'd honestly be quite bored. :P What the hell do I know at my age? I'm excited to get out and learn new things. I don't want to know everything before I walk out the door. I have many more lessons to learn, more mistakes to make, more growing up to do, but everything I've gone through and learned so far, came at just the right time. I hate it when I get kicked in the stomach and fall to the ground just when I thought things couldn't be better. But when I would get back up and start to feel happy again, I was more aware, more alert, and more appreciative.

(((((DEE))))) I'm so sorry about what you and your son are going through. I wish there was something I could do. Feel free to vent here and we'll support you as much as possible. Email me anytime. xoxo.

I suspect a lot of deeply religious people would say all of life's lessons and rules ARE already written down for us -- in such things as the Bible, the Koran, and various other holy books -- if only we chose to follow them. Even those who are more philosophical than religious would probably offer their own versions of the many books great and learned people have penned to spare us all the task of learning by experience. But truly, I think those things we experience are the only lessons that matter as far as taking ourselves to the next level, accomplishing what we came to the planet to do, really growing in the spirit where it matters ...
No shortcuts, really.
Being told or reading about it is only like the difference between reading a recipe for a scrumptious cake and actually making and then eating a piece of that scrumptious cake. Slight difference? No, HUGE difference. In fact, all the difference in the world.
So, we just have to live it. Pain, joy, suffering, exhilaration ... all of it. And it makes us who we were meant to be and then takes us on to whatever is next. (And I guess we could debate "whatever is next" for a lifetime.)

I've been reading quotes on truth today, and I thought I would share anything interesting I found.

“I love you, and because I love you, I would sooner have you hate me for telling you the truth than adore me for telling you lies.”
Pietro Aretino

I couldn't resist this one. It may seem to disagree with number one on the creed as far as not telling the truth if it will hurt someone, but there is something about it that resonates, and I think there is a fine line.

Gloria Steinem:
"The truth will set you free. But first, it will piss you off."

And, really, how did so much wisdom get into one man such as Abraham Lincoln?
He said,"How many legs does a dog have if you call the tail a leg? Four; calling a tail a leg doesn't make it a leg."
Oh, yeah. How true that is. And how much better off we'd all be if we could realize that. It sounds so simple, but it's really very deep.

Good Morning EVERYONE!!! ---ANT---I am so happy you liked the journal :) I also am so happy we are going over the creed. I think honesty is so important and I also thing hurting someone's feelings just to clear our own conscience is so harmful. I am looking forward to going through the rest. I want to follow the creed, but some days I am just too human. Like after reading DEE's post about her son, I wanted to form a colony posse and head on up there and help Dee with her problem. (I still do and Dee if you need me, I am there!) ---DR DONNA---I have a question about facebook? Since you said you use it, I thought you might know. I have a photo from the 80's of one of my friends, I want to send it to him through the message part and not upload it to my albums. He asked me to send it to him, but I cannot figure out how to attach it. If you know how to do this, I would appreciate it! I am going out to shovel more snow, I have decided God loves skiers and snowboarders this winter. There cannot be any other reason for so much snow to fall all over the country.

I find the 'Bachelor' show yucky. How many successes has this show had? Answer: ONE

So I'm calling it: The Blechelor

Because it's yucky.

Blech.

And I know what you are thinking.....'Craig, don't watch it".

If there wasn't a promo for it every 5 minutes I wouldn't have to. Even the promos are yucky.

"Next time on the Blechelor....Deanna gives Jason an insincere apology...then the women go on a group date to a place you would never ever take someone on a date....and tension mounts in house...allllll...Next Time on The Blechelor!"

You don't even need to watch the show...the promos reveal all.:-P

Though the Blechelor is almost as good as the show "Milliion Dollar Listings". It the one about the three real estate agents who sell high end homes in California. I think one of them might be an android. They all seem to talk like robots in front of the camera. "I. am. going. to. meet. with. my. client. I. will. list. their. house."

I'll admit to watching that. I think it's a funny show, but don't belive it is meant to be. :-P

Happy Tuesday! :-)

Greeting ANTlings!
ANT and friends ~ I have a couple of things to say about the vblog. First, as far as the life lessons thing goes, my personal opinion is that it would be WAY too tough to come up with every life lesson people needed to know. And some things would never pertain to me that might to you. Where would it end? Some people understand things more clearly and differently than others. Some of us make more mistakes and seem to have less common sense than others.
And even then, it would be like your parents telling you that you can't do something. You still want to because you think they're just trying to tell you what to do. You don't realize until much later in life that they were only trying to help you. So I think part of it is just rebellion.
As for always speaking the truth, that's a tough one to know what to do sometimes. I, of course, believe in that, but there may be some exceptions to the rule, as you say. Sometimes it's a judgement call and you have to use discretion to know when to say something and when not to. Just because I would be fine with my friend telling me that my jeans were too tight, she might not be okay with me telling her that. So my question would be, how do you know? I am one of those people that I would always rather tell the truth and I have many people in my life that become upset because of that because some people just can't handle the truth. I have NEVER tried to be hurtful, but I will fully admit that I can be brutally honest, and people don't always like that. I just don't know when you should hold back and when it's okay to say something. It's walking a thin line.

OMG Craig! That's so funny about the Bachelor and Million Dollar Listing. I don't watch the Bachelor anymore, but I used to. BUT, I do watch Million Dollar Listing and I'm not sure why. It's like a train wreck. I just can't turn away. I don't mind one of the guys, but the other two???? One is just a weasel and the other seems to be, as you said, an android. He can't possibly be human....and he has a serious girlfriend. WTH??? Creepy is all I'll say about that.

BEDBUG--I love all the quotes! Abraham Lincoln is one of my favorites. CRAIG---I have not seen the second show you talked about, and from the description, I have to see a clip, but I HATE THE BACHELOR show. I will admit to watching a few seasons of it, mostly with a blanket up to my face, like watching a horror show. How can people allow themselves to be whittled down and picked like that? It is so icky to me, but I understand the fascination with it. I think they may not work out, because while the season is airing, they are watching themselves and cannot look each other in the eyes ever again, after the season is over. Sorry for The Bachelor rant, I had no idea I felt so strongly about that show!

DEE: In case you didn't go back and see it, this is what I posted to you in Area 51.
***
I've been worried about this since you blogged about it the other day. When you posted this here, I kept re-reading it, and I keep getting hung up on one part.
"I hate that my future is contingent on their behavior. That I have to just sit and wait to see what they will do before I can decide what I will do."
I don't think that's true. I can't find the right words right now to articulate for you exactly what I think is wrong with that statement, but I will meditate on it tonight, and I hope you will do the same. Perhaps the answer will come to you before it is clear to me how to express my feelings about it to you. But either way, I'm sure that is not true. Your future is absolutely not contingent on their behavior; it is contingent on yours.
***
So, I did spend some time in thought on that overnight. And, I stand by what I originally told you in a MySpace message. I am behind you 100% no matter what you feel you must do about this horrible situation. No judgement.
But I guess what I am cautioning you against is taking the stance that your future is being determined by their choice of behavior. I think that in believing that, you give away your power. And, what's worse is, you're giving it to them.
I would urge you to NOT give them the power to decide the path that you will follow. I am hoping there is some way for you to solidify where you stand on this, how you will choose to react to this, REGARDLESS of their decision, REGARDLESS of their chosen behavior.
How you will handle this is about who and what you are. It's not about who and what they are.
I am just encouraging you to search your soul, now, and take a position that you can live with, one that is not based on the actions of others.
Then, when they determine their actions, what you do will not be simply a REACTION. It will not be a choice borne of spontaneous emotion but rather one that reflects a responsible, vetted, position that is reflective of what represents Dee. No matter what that is.
In that way (I believe), YOU retain the power of determining your own future.
I completely respect you if you choose to disagree. I am just having some strong thoughts on this based on our friendship and exchange of ideas.

RENIN77---I think the clue in what you wrote was brutal honesty. If it is brutal, maybe it deserves a second look before we express it. I know that so many "truths" are actually just opinions. One person's you look fat in your jeans, is another person's, I like big butts and I cannot lie. I like people to be honest with me always, but I also want them to think about what they say to me, to avoid hurt feelings. I agree with you about learning lessons. I can learn from other peoples mistakes, but I also make my own fair share, and hopefully someone else can learn from mine. It would be a really hard life if we had to make all the mistakes possible to make.

Hi Renin77...I thought one guy looked like a weasel too! So it's 'the Weasel', 'The Android' and 'I'm in love with myself' Boy.

The show is a bit of a train wreck. I find The Android repeats himself a lot.

Holy Carp! (purposely censored) I’m about to quote a tv jingle, forgive me.

“You take the good, you take the bad, and then you have the facts of life.”

I used to have a quote, but can't find it right now, about having loved a bad man to recognize a good one. I think that life lessons can be thought of similarly. Having dealt with bad life experiences (whether we were warned ahead of time or not) helps us appreciate the good ones.

I hope I am making sense. Still having a rough time but trying (big effort on my part right now) to stay somewhat connected.

Hugs all around and thanks for being here.

Dee...You've got the power...

I hope this isn't a dupe as the previous one went "poof be gone".

Loved the colony video!!!!!!!!! Fantastic and I too would like to know how to get hold of luvpug to send my photo (anyone? anyone?((Ferris Buller)))

Ant, your talky about rule one was an aha moment for me. Thank you!!!! It made me think of things in a different way. xoxo

GOODMORNING EVERYONE
.
CRAIG- Thanks for that song this morning. I needed that too. One minute after the phone went and I got my appt with the Neurologist. You must be good luck for me! LOL!
.
CRAIG- I get a good laugh at you about The Bachelor. Just like you said, you see all the build up so you know what's going to happen. It is like a train wreck that you can't stop watching. My husband said last night "I hope he give Deanna the boot after what she did to him." LOL! I couldn't believe he was even watching it with me.

BEDBUG- You have such wise advise for DEE this morning. Thinking of you for Friday.

AMI-ANT- Thanks for the Ice cold POG today. I laughed you are on the count down with me until I can drink it in Hawaii!
.
ALI-KAT- Yes, I know it's funny today about the Dr, but last night it wasn't. I was just trying not to swear and CRAIG raps my knuckles. LOL!!!

.
(((((Dee))))))
.

Mrs. Bean: I totally agree. I want to be told the truth, but I also appreciate if it can be done in a way that will spare me hurt feelings.
I guess I am thinking that there are many ways to tell the same truth.
If I ask you, "Do these jeans make my butt look big?" the answer "yes" will sting. The answer "No, it's not the jeans, your butt just IS big" will hurt a whole lot more.
A person could also simply tell me, "They're fine, but I love the way those other jeans look on you so much more." That would achieve the same results (getting me not to wear those big-butt jeans) but in a diplomatic way.
But any way you slice it, a true friend would try to keep me from looking even bigger butted in public than was absolutely necessary. Right?
Then we get to the part of the "truth" issue that we haven't even skirted yet. When I ask the question, "Do these jeans make my butt look big?" don't I really already know the answer? I mean, no one has a big ol' butt and doesn't already know it. We can be a bit in denial about how bad it looks at times, but if I already know the answer to that question, why am I asking it? Am I looking to be lied to? reassured? hoping to find a different truth than the one I already believe?
I don't know. But I enjoy dissecting these things and looking at them from all angles.

CHRIS- Are you still working outside your home? I thought it was ending the end of 2008? You are being so healthy these past couple of days. Are you watching Oprah this week? I watched it last night from during the day.

COLONY KAT- Hang in there. It sure is tough at times I know. Build up your spoons for the next few days. Thinking of you.

DAWN: What did you think of Oprah? I watched it last night, too. I thought it was very powerful and real. (Except the part about her weighing 200 pounds, because I think it's a good bit more and she doesn't want to say a figure bigger than that. But, whatever.)
I was intrigued that she was saying some of the same stuff I've been going through about being grateful to your body for functioning for you despite everything.
I found a lot of what Bob had to say interesting, too, about seeing that change in her, that she had lost her zest for life, thinking she might be depressed and so on.

MRS BEAN - about FACEBOOK - I think you can go to your friend's page, and use the "post photo" option, to browse for the photo on your PC. Let me know if it works, I haven't done that before...but I think it will work. :-)

Colony Kat: Makes total sense.
That song "God bless the broken road that led me straight to you" ... I know that's about a relationship with a person, but when I hear it, I can't help but think of just life in general. I think somehow we end up where we are supposed to be even if it was a very twisted and seemingly convoluted path that got us there ... and sometimes we can't recognize that the things we are going through are the very things we need to experience in order to get us where we need to be.
Like, I could sing that song to my "job," for instance. I think that general message applies in so many ways.

I'm scrolling up and laughing at my posts, because it just looks like I am all having a Phd. in philosophy today about everything under the sun, and if you only knew, it's simply because I have a major ongoing life issue/crisis of my own (well, in my family) to try to deal with right now, and it's so danged overwhelming that I would rather think about anything other than that.
Yes, I know most of you already know about it. The on-again, off-again issue that I do not want to really spell out on here.
Look at me. I'm a deep thinker. Look at me. I'm very enlightened.
Look at me. I'm going to help you solve your problem.
Look at me. I'm having a nervous breakdown and I can't even face the problem that's sitting right here in my lap. Nothing I do seems to address this, and I am feeling powerless to resolve it. A bystander, yet so involved.
What a loser.
I know. I know.
Breaking creed rule #3.
Breaking creed rule #7.
Breaking creed rule #13.
Breaking my ostrich heart. Think I'll go stick my head back in the sand and see what else I can get involved in to avoid reality.
Simply seeking positive thought on this, since I have none of my own left for it. Thanks in advance. I know you guys have got my back on this.

BEDBUG- Yes, I most related to Oprah when Bob told her she just had a vacant look with no zest for life. That's how I feel. No desire to even try because it's a lost cause in feeling well. She used her thyroid as an excuse and I use my headaches as an excuse. So I sure did relate to the show.
.
BEDBUG- Once again like you tell everyone we are all here for you. Thinking of you a lot and I do think about things like you do in the middle of the night. I do understand though listening to everyone else's problems you put yours on the back burner. Now isn't that what Oprah talked about yesterday? We give to others, but forget about ourselves because we've given up in our heart. Yesterday you told me to take some of your strength for my appt. Now, I'm telling you the same. Take our strength for your issue. Luv You!

I see where rennin is coming from as a parent you tell your child don't touch that flame or you will get burned, but, the child doesn't know what burned feels like and unless he experiences it he won't know why he should avoid it.
if we are gonna talk the bachelor, I watched until the navy dr. then no more, but I did watch cougars vs kittens

Oh, I love busy days at the Colony - I just wish they weren't attributed to so many ants struggling with tough times.
.
DEE - jeez, after reading your post I sort of freaked out a little bit. It sounded so dark! I don't mean that in a judging way at all, I'm just so sorry that you've found yourself in such a predicament. I'm sure the parts you left unsaid were that way for a reason, but please get some help if there are resources available. It sounds like things are dangerous. That's no good! Please be careful.

Lois Lane that would be great! Cause there might be a few ledges along the way!

Colony KAT You're doing great! I'm so glad when I see your posts each day because I know that there are times that it takes conscious effort for you to be here. YAY for you, for coming. I love your take on things - it's almost always just what I was about to say myself! :o) (Specifically today, I liked the thought of loving the wrong person - or going through the hard times, to recognize when you're loving the RIGHT person or enjoying the BEST times!)

BEDBUG. DON'T DO IT!! If you stick your head in the sand..you won't be able to see those beautiful toes!! :)
.
I agree though as I think most ALL of us would that it is soo much easier to help others than to face our own problems.... they are too painful and seemingly insurmountable. Guess the trick is asking yourself what you would tell someone if it were THEM. not you......take yourself outside the situation if possible... though so hard to do.
.
CRAIG.... I just caught your Blechelor post.. LOL ...I agree..but as I said yesterday sometimes I just need brain softening tv! All I can handle.... and come on..THIS IS THE BEST SEASON EVER!!! How could I NOT watch?? LOL!!!!!!!! They say that EVERY season!
.
The Million Dollar show.. I saw that a few times......bit of a yawn as well except for the funny parts that are not meant to be. and the... are you kidding me moments?? .. LOL ....are THEY for real? Are ANY of these people actually for real? Just can't be.....:)
.
I am subscribed! :)
.
NITE DAWN....zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

CHRIANN- SO good to see you finally. LOL! I love your smiley face gum balls. You don't come often enough to talk.
.
DR DONNA- I'm sort of getting worried about DEE right now as she posted and then we haven't heard from her. She usually emails me and I haven't heard that way either.
.
OK, I've done my peeling of shrimp and all my prep for dinner. Now, I'm going back to bed! It's no wonder my head keeps getting worse.
.
CRAIG- I love when you are home and post mid day. Hugs to you always. {{{{{Craig}}}}}

BEDBUG Here's the thing about you: You always put so much genuine thought behind the things you post here for others. It's always evident that you've gone over their situation in your mind and offered the same advice you'd offer yourself, if you were in their shoes. So thoughtful, and sincere We all know you'll make it through the struggles you've been given to deal with. And, we all ALSO know we'll be here to cheer you on the whole darn way!

ALI-KAT- The best season ever! Too funny! Night zzzzzzzzzz

HuGs to you as well ((DAWN))
You are wonderful. :-)

DR DONNA--Auntie T told me how to make photo albums only viewable to certain people at facebook, so I think I got that to work, THANK YOU, for your suggestion. I wasn't sure how to make a note private and I did not want to put a picture up of someone without their permission. THANKS AUNTIE T :) BEDBUG--First, LOL at no one doesn't know their butt looks big. This may be too personal for the blog, but my problem is that no matter what size I am, I have a big butt, and so what are you going to do? I am learning to love it and its extra cushioning. When I watch the Trace Adkins video Badankadonk, I am like, "Is that all you've got?" Okay, second, You do give great advice and I hope you never stop. I don't think because you are dealing with your own problems, you shouldn't be able to be wise and helpful in other areas. We all have our own problems and issues. I personally have admired how you are dealing with your problem. You haven't buried your head in the sand, you have gone to the doctors, you have worn the machine when you could. You went to the sleep study, that is huge!!!! Do you know how many times I have talked myself out of going to the doctors? Almost every time I should have gone. I hate hospitals, doctors, all that goes with that. I am proud of you for going and doing whatever you can to help yourself. So I don't think you are an ostrich at all, but I also don't think you should be so hard on yourself. Look at all you have done!

The truth is something that is relative. People can convince themselves what the truth is.

Kinda like when people cheat on their taxes....it is still cheating, stealing and wrong but people often justify it.

Morality doesn't have a sliding scale. It is or it isn't.

WOW, i have slept off and on for the last 24 hrs. I'm now awake. I need to catch up. breakfast will be some fruit! DING DANG, i have to go grocery shopping!

OOH, LL that's an interesting thought - "If my spouse were cheating, I'd want to know - from THEM" Here's the thing: If you have a spouse who is cheating, what are the odds that they will tell you? In my opinion, there's a big gray area here. I think that someone who slips up once on a business trip, and feels terrible, and never does it again is one scenario - and for that specific example it might be better to never know (assuming that health is not at risk, of course). On the other hand, there may be people out there who cheat repeatedly (either an ongoing affair with one other person, or multiple times, with multiple people). Those are the people who aren't too likely to come home, and say "Gee, honey, I really feel like I need to be honest with you here..." IMHO, if you are a friend to someone and you become aware that this is happening, the best case scenario would be to talk to the "cheater" and say "If you don't fess up, I will - because someone needs to tell XXXX the truth." Of course, the ideal situation (well, IDEAL would be no cheating...lol) would be that the cheating partner would realize the error of their ways and fess up on their own. But honestly, how would you feel if you found out A.) that you'd been cheated on, and B.) that a friend knew about it a year ago and never said anything to you? I'd WAAAY rather be told - even by a friend - to avoid the feeling of humiliation knowing that the stuff was going on behind my back. (Sadly, I speak from experience here...) But hey, as Colony KAT says - now, I'll REALLY appreciate the right guy when he comes along, right?? (Always look on the bright side of life...gotta love Monty Python)

Dawn I will send you a friend request =)

SCRAPPYSMOM - I love having seen (heard) you in CHAT, because now I know that you type exactly the same way you talk! LOL Keep up the AWESOME healthiness, you GO girl!!

HELLO...Hello....hello....ECHO!!! Is anyone in here?

It has been so hard getting back into the swing of things.... going back to being at work during the day.... dealing with 4th graders coming off of a vacation high LOL. I've found it difficult to find time to hop on in here and read all the posts, so please forgive me if I am not responding to something that maybe I should.

For myself, I would prefer I was told the truth, whether the truth would hurt me or not. I've been deceived enough in my life... kept in the dark enough on things I should have known about... I would rather deal with a painful truth than not to know at all, or have it sugar-coated.

Angie, loved the video. Great songs to put the pictures to! It has been a pretty wonderful year in the Colony, despite some down moments. At least in the sad and difficult times, we stuck together :)

Yep, pretty much what you see (hear) is what you get. Keep in mind I do have a business mode I use! Ya can't go all balls forward in the work place.

Lunch was late, ended up at Wendy's. Yes a fast food place. Now I know what your thinking, but don't. Wendy's has some really healthy choices. I had a side Ceasar salad and baked potato. The salad had fat free dressing and the potato had light sour cream. How I did drink a small diet coke.
.
.
The furball was no help! He sat across from me and eat two doubles with cheese and frys. DING DANG. But I was fine with that. We first went to Hardee's, I turn around and walked out after asking if they had any thing healthy. I thought maybe yogurt. But the only thing they had was a side salad, but the smell of grease in there was a bit much for me to take.

this is gonna be long winded, those who know me know i don't post often during the week

Ant your vlog made me laugh and I am happy to see you giddy.

CHRIS- Thanks for the song tonight. Hugs to you. {{{{{CHRIS}}}}}

Okay, it is cool that I can read all your posts when I have breaks throughout the day. But, it is absolute torture to not be able to comment back at you guys! LOL

I can't even begin to organize all the comments and thoughts I have had throughout the day. But, all of you are in my thoughts and prayers during the day. I'm sending positive vibes throughout the colony all day long.

My daughter and I are watching the new season of the Biggest Loser. This show has always been inspirational to us, but I am really going to be more committed to actually doing something with that inspiration. I had a good start tonight, I did not drink a beer and eat Doritoes while I watched it. I'm not kidding when I tell you I have sat here and gone, "Way to go blue team!" As I swigged a cold Coors Light, seriously, how retarded is that?!

I am meeting New Year's Eve girl for dinner tomorrow night. It will be the first time I have seen her since then. I am excited, but nervous, after all we both will be stone cold sober...LOL.

Love you all...stay strong and we will lift each other up, kick each other's butts, wipe each other's tears, and share our salad recipes!

BECK

BECK- Good luck with your dinner date tomorrow night. Let us know how it goes. Where are you going for dinner? What type of food?
.
LOIS LANE- I'm sorry I forgot my special HELLO for you this morning. I had such a stupid headache.
.
PHIL- How wonderful for you to post at NBC today. Yippee. Your hair sounds good to me.

like we said Ph!l we don't care about the hair you got us with the dimples

Ant - you may be like me with your hands. Mine were numb in the mornings and quite a lot all day long because of the way I slept with my hands bent all night long - and it was cutting off the circulation. Now I sleep with splints on each wrist (you get used to it very easily) and my hands are fine each day because it keeps me from bending them while sleeping. Now I have to take the splints with me every place I go or else I can't sleep well. That was all it was, no big problem and I could just imagine you are experiencing the same thing. Good luck at the doctor's appointment! :)
