Hey Ant!

Good afternoon All!!!

Hey there luvagi =)

{{{Heidi}}} thinking of you lots

POP!
'xactly, Mr. ANT!
Anti-gay marriage people: if homoexuality hurts the institution of marriage, then, um, what's caused the 66% PLUS divorce rate among heterosexuals?
And if marriage is for the procreation of marriage, why aren't all childless heterosexual marriages null & void after a stretch of 5 childless years?
And if only straight couples ought to be parents, why is single parenting (by a heterosexual) legal?
And if two parent straight homes are the best for kids, then, um, who are the hundreds of thousands of kids in foster care? Not to even mention the thousands of children abused and KILLED by their straight mommies, daddies and/or assorted straight live in boyfriends?
And if heterosexuality is the cure-all goal for social and moral ills, how come it hasn't cured homosexuality? lol
Oh, and what about the straight 2-parent families who present well to the outside world who are, in fact, dead inside?
And how come far right sorts of people are so often the ones remarried 2 or 3 or 4 times? And how come their daughters are often the first ones to hop up onto the abortionist's table?
And how come if Jesus wanted people to whore no more...so many right wingers just love their hookers, strippers and don't mind that their own daughters get jobs in joints that require them to wear tee shirts three sizes too small while serving burgers to horny road crews?
And how does the far right morally validate illegal war when worrying about Ellen DeGeneres might be doing in her bedroom?
And how come Rosie's kids all made it past the age of 5 while hundreds of toddlers in straight homes sometimes don't live to see their 3rd birthday due to abuse?
And how come those same types hate the lesbians but love the lesbian porn?
Oh, there is much screw up in the minds of bigots and religious zealots.
POOF!

I'm not getting into politics so I'll go back to watching the Olympics and USA getting another GOLD medal woot woot

Your side of the isle would be filled with colony members! You would NEVER be alone!!

PAMELA & LUVAGI
Congrats on being #1 today!!

Yes a tie for first Pam and Luvagi

ANT,
I have certainly posted my thoughts on this topic before. Being Canadian -- it's a legally accepted part of our lives -- of our Country. Our Country didn't collapse. Our country didn't financially fail. One thing that did happen was tourism & the number of issued marriage licenses went up -- people from the U.S. coming here to get married!!
.
Like the others have said, I too will be on your side of the aisle when the happy nuptuals happen!
.
But, could I ask a favour of you?? Along with Raul and everyone else you have helping out, could you ask Carson Kressley to be there and ask if he wouldn't mind arriving a day early -- I need help with what to wear!!!!
.
Anyone else needing help -- Numbers are available on the wall at the door. No. 1 has my name on it!!!! Unless of course ANT needs his services -- then my name is on No. 2!!!!

Can I be #3 Meed?! Thanks!!!

Love is never wrong.
Love is never wrong.
LOVE is NEVER wrong.
:)

thanks for the Birthday wishes....I so forgot it was my Birthday! Marr call to wish me happy birthday and i was like....O hell, it is my birthday....This was at 8pm...Moving makes things disappear in more ways than one!

good morning ant and gang, i wish any one who finds love much happiness there is not enough of it in this world that is all that matters have a great monday everyone out there on the ant hill, coleen

HELLO EVERYONE- I can't view the video and have been trying all evening. I had already gone to bed and it's bugging me. I assume what you spoke about was gay marriage. I feel EVERYONE should be equal and everyone have the same rights. I'll try to view the video in the morning. It says this video no longer available??

GOOD MORNING COLONISTS

ANT for Vice President!
*
Good Morning ANT and colony.
*
I truly do not understand the "right's" standing on this...I don't get it. I would much rather live in a world of understanding, love, and compassion than one that lives in hate, anger and fear.

STEPH I tried to post this yesterday, but it must not have worked. I was saying it's been waaay too long since I WAVED MADLY at you. So, here goes: WAVING MADLY!!!

Hi to CRAIG, DAWN, SOCALNANCY, COLEEN, SCRAPPYSMOM, ELLIOT's FRIEND, MEED, KevT, JEANNEfromNC, PAMELA, KHAY, and LUVAGI and SWEET PEA!!

MISSING Lois Lane - I hope all is well in LaneLand.

HEIDI How is your Uncle? How are YOU? (Do you have your glasses on today? LOL)

EMJAY I have to go online tonight at home and check out your MySpace! How was the WEDDING? A little birdie (in area 51) said the pictures were beautiful. (Just making sure...this IS the wedding you've been working so hard on for so long, right? You didn't just coincidentally go to a 2nd cousin's wedding over the weekend? LOL) I'd still like to discuss a possible "meeting" with you, as a solid Mid-West dwelling ant. It would be super duper fun to plan a weekend meeting somewhere, don't you think?

Hola!

Kev - No lobster for me in Mass, I had king crab instead. I'm crabby by nature (Cancerian).

I stay away from the gay marriage discussion. My rule is "live, love, laugh."

It's like a dinner menu... some people order fish & chips, and the rest order filet mignon.

Where's the beef? :-p

XOXO

GINGER Based on one of the posts I saw yesterday, I missed your Anniversary. HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!! When people get it right (gay or straight) we should honor that!! :-) Hope you had a great celebration together.

Hi, CHRIS!! Live, Love, Laugh sounds good to me!
.

I suppose asking why you stay out of the conversation would mean having a conversation (sort of counterproductive). However, my cats and I can't help but be....curious?

BEDBUG I really hope you're still noticing improvements and that you're getting better sleep at night. (It's hard, what with all of the "up-all-night-offspring" laying around...LOL) Even through all of that, you're finding new recipes, making more food, preparing new meals - I remember still, a post of yours from way back in January when I started coming here, about how cooking/mealtime is tied to emotions - the making and preparing of the food being a physical way of showing love for your family (those weren't your exact words, but it was something like that...) and how I felt so much the same way. I love to cook for people!

DrD... I think it's because there's always someone who will disapprove. I tend to take the back burner on heated discussions.

I know I'm right for me. I don't claim to have the answers for anyone but myself. Half the time, I don't know where I'm going so I can't make a road map for someone else.

Religion plays a huge part. I also don't follow religious beliefs in general.

Be good, genuine and pure-hearted. If ya screw up, make it right.

If I'm headed for hell, I'll be toasting marshmallows for a long time - how is that bad? If heaven has a seat for me, I'll be cutting flowers for the meet & greet at the front gate.

Service with a smile! lol XOXO

For anyone who wants to have a WONDERFUL starting place for conversation with any family or friends, please watch this movie!!!

CHRIS - I smell what you're cookin'. I come from a family where activism is a weekend activity, like playing Scrabble or reading. If you look through my "favorites" on YouTube, you'll see my cousin Jake and his parents in several different videos (of course, you'll have to scroll through the pages of favorited "newhampshirefree" material first!) :) They also are one of the featured families in the "For the Bible Tells Me So" movie. I can't wait until every couple brave, committed, and in love enough to want to spend their lives together can do so legally.

KevT (7:22PM post) says it all perfectly!

ANT: I'm proud of you for not "fence sitting" on this issue. (The fence can become a very uncomfortable place to sit after a while.)
I told an editor of mine that very thing once when I was a cub reporter. I had an opportunity to be a weekly columnist as well, so I shared a lot of personal feelings. I had been fence sitting on the abortion issue, and I reached a point where I felt compelled to share with my readers what my stance was. I wasn't trying to convert anyone else, just sharing my own position.
He -- an old curmudgeon of the days when newsprint was invented -- told me I would live to regret it, that there would be serious ramifications and backlash.
None. There was none. Not even one nasty phone call, and mine was a column that typically got lots of feedback, both good and bad.
Even in my simple-minded small town, every one seemed to respect me enough to at least let me have my own opinion and share it in a public forum.
For that I am ever grateful. And it helped me be unafraid to jump off that fence many times afterward.
Do I see a public service announcement in your future? I'll bet if you volunteered your services, some organization would love to shoot one featuring you on this topic. Your delivery about it is so unassuming, non-threatening, even-toned and level-headed that it's hard to take knee-jerk issue with what you are saying. It seems so simple. Let's let each other love who we choose to love and get down to the very serious business of repairing our country at all the torn places. OMG do we have a lot of work to do, and none if it has anything to do with whether or not a committed gay couple chooses to make their bond legal. Let it be. Let it be.

Oh, Chris, honey. What makes you think hell won't have a meet and greet, too?
And you have the right attitude about roasting marshmallows there. I think I'm older than you are, so I'll save you a seat by the fire. Oh, wait, it's all fire ... so it's all first-class seating for s'mores! And a really killer hot appetizer buffet.
But I wouldn't expect any ice sculptures ...

DR DONNA: Not much in the way of improvements right yet, but still waiting on the mask -- or the phone call from the doctor ABOUT the mask, that is.
I hate the delay. As crabby as I was, I still want to get started. I know it will take time to get better and I need to get better to get my energy level up way before the wedding and shower.
I'd love any ideas anyone wants to MySpace message me for the shower. It is to be the theme of the MadHatter's tea part. (Yes, I know it's really the March Hare's tea party, but you can't seem to fight the flow of people who are already misinformed.)
A few of the things are already decided, and I appreciate the advice I've already received, but I do want more if you have more.

EMJAY: The wedding looked incredible. I like seeing all the photos. I also enjoyed your artwork. I had no idea! It is all so beautiful. You are one extremely talented lady!

Gotta run. I have two obituaries to do. It's crazy when they start coming in twos.

Oh, hey, I promised to get the recipe for this Buffalo Chicken dip we made for my friend's shower. Here it is. COULDN'T BE EASIER!
.

Buffalo Chicken Dip

- 1 cup Frank’s Hot Sauce

- 1 cup Chucky Blue cheese dressing

- 1 rotisserie chicken shredded

- 16 oz. cream cheese

Instructions

1. Soften cream cheese

2. Mix in all other ingredients in bowl you’ve softened the cream cheese in

3. Spread into grease cake pan

4. Bake at 350 for 30-45 minutes. (until you get a golden crust on top)

5. Let stand for a few minutes before digging in – it’s nuclear inside!
.

Serve with tortilla chips. Don't bother with plates. People will just stand around the dish and eat til it's gone. M-M-YUMMY!!!

Of course, that should say Chunky Blue Cheese, not "Chucky Blue Cheese". Oopsies.

Hello everyANT!! Hope everyone is having a good start to their week. It's warm and quite humid today where I'm at.
Anyway, I just want to say thanks for sharing your take on the issue ANT, but I do want to respond to KevT's post from last evening. Although I do agree with some of what you're saying, I don't know that's a good way to look at things (from my perspective of course). I feel that every different person has reasons for doing what they're doing, so I try not to judge without knowing. I still don't necessarily agree with decisions people make, but that's just it; they are their decisions, not mine. I guess I just feel that I wouldn't be making blatant statements about "groups" of people when you don't really know the story, which makes it difficult to group people into categories. I'm not trying to be antagonistic here, but I just wanted to mention that there are always two sides to a story.

Hi Ant!
I am posting for the first time.I want to let you know That I agree with your stand in today's vblog.you made some very interesting comments.I have been an "observANT" for about a year.I am glad I finally got the courage to put up my first post.Hope to do so again soon.
bye for now

HI EVERYONE
.
I just saw`Ellen & Portia wedding pictures and I love their outfits in pale pink.

CANADIAN GUMMY BEAR, welcome to the colony hope to hear from you more all my fellow colonist have a great day. coleen

So nonsensical to think anything is wrong with marriage for anyone who wishes to be together and celebrate that fact in a ceremony. Love needs to be more important not less.
~~~
See you all tomorrow...
Sweet Dreams
:?)
LOVE IS LOVE
WHATS THE DIFFERENCE?
:)~~~~ALOHA~~~
GO SPREAD IT!!!
POP!
~renin77 - MY own personal beliefs would be that everyone has the right to pursue whatever certain things in life they wish to pursue. And that pursuit may be done well or with a lot of errors. And it may bring one to great joy or perhaps tremendous sadness. But no matter the particulars or outcome, everyone has a right to the pursuit. I think if one applies logic to our freedoms and not merely sexual organs, one would have to agree that many straight people should NOT ever be married. And yet, due to their sexual organs and not logic, that right, no matter how whacked in the head an individual may be is still their "right" to exercise should they so decide.
if we determined everything by sex organs, why, all the lady ants here would have very few opportunities and options afforded to them (as had been the case for thousands of years and in much of the world even to this day).
And we can't forget that even with legalized gay marriage, not all gay people will want to marry. And not all heterosexual financees will suddenly break off their engagements in order to marry their long time, same-sex handball partner from their boarding school days.
~shorty - you would be correct in your belief that I am not against single parenting or the single parent. Now, on the other hand, if logic holds true, John McCain ...
~SoCalNancy - it all makes sense now. So the 13 coins aren't a bribe then.
:)
POOF!
AMEN.....AMEN....AMEN........
Love u Ant.
Sorry so short...NBC site lagging 4 me today. :-)
Hi all. (hi Pam)
Hi all. (hi Pam)
Hello To All. This is my first time posting. Here goes.
Ant - I believe that to share our lives with someone that we love who loves us back is a most precious gift. To deny someone, anyone, this gift is a travesty. Personally, in these difficult times I would much rather live in a world of love and acceptance than one of hate and judgment.
Bye for now.
Hi Auntie
HELLO TO TERI- New blogger on ANT's space. Yippee and from Canada too. Every day is different around here so you have to come for a little while to see everyone who posts. ANT sometimes has an open chat where we can ask him questions and he answers live. I hope you enjoy the site.
.
BEDBUG- I'm sorry you are so upset about your health and machine you are waiting for now. Keep your chin up as we are all here to help you. Was this not your regular Dr? Have you seen a Cardiologist or Respirologist? The 24 hour holter moniters are OK to have on. That will give them a better reading. Are you to do that before the mask? How is the O2 helping?
.
COLONY KAT- Thank you for thinking of me even though you are visiting with your boyfriend. They are putting me on Metformin for diabeties and I've increased my Remeron for depression. I hope you had a nice time with him.
I am a married, straight woman and I feel that my opinion on this topic is appropriate so here goes.
All people should be able to make a committment and share their lives together in a legal manner and share in the financial benefits that are bestowed on straight married couples.
I don't care what it is called, but I know some do. Semantics is perhaps the battle. In other cultures there is a civil marriage and an iglesiastical marriage. One is the legal piece and the other the religious ceremony........perhaps this separation is a clear boundary in other cultures and not in ours. I respect others religious choices until it means someone else doesn't have the right to exist. If your religion will allow a "church" wedding and your government allows a legal bond, then save me a seat because I love weddings!
ANT I am certain that once the world realizes that they are just arguing over the details here it will all work out. I wish you a lovely wedding and I will be there =)
GINGER- I hope you Grandaughter gets seen by the Dr. tomorrow and can figure out what's happening in her mouth. Let us know.
.
HELLO CRAIG- waves madly back to you in Alberta. The heat wave has lessoned today. It was way too hot. How is Argus your kitty cat doing? I bet stretched out to cool off.
TERI- Anyone with their name dark like your's and mine have a myspace page. You can just click on that and request them as a friend or they can do the same to you.
TERI- If ANT puts up a new blog and someone posts for you to view area 51 that means the previous days post. When I get up in the morning I read the posts from yesterday first so I don't miss anything.
MEED- Chris wrote to me and he thinks we will get the DVD with our CD? I sure hope so. Waiting, waiting, but not very patiently.
This is a test to see if I can still post............If I can I will wait to morning to post. night night everyone....
I'll work with Chris on the dvd front and see what we can do.
(If you haven't left a comment here before, you may need to be approved by the site owner before your comment will appear. Until then, it won't appear on the entry. Thanks for waiting.)
