Update and a boost
I always think when you do something because it just feels right....that's a great feeling. So if you are feeling it today. Here's a posting that I picked up on from the NBC colony. Thinking of others even when you hurt a little is so inspiring. So, like most lessons I learn in life, I'm going to learn from BedBug and give to someone else today.
Here's the post that moved me:
A young friend of mine, Samy Fineman, is a finalist in a national competition by Gillette to be an announcer at the MLB World Series. It's a public voting period online, and he really needs to rack up the votes to win it. If any of you would be so inclined to have a quick look at his "audition" tape and cast a vote for him, I know it would be most appreciated by him and his beautiful wife, Sunshine, and their new baby, (who also happens to be named Sophia!) He's originally from my area but had been in the service, stationed in Japan, and was working as a base DJ (sort of their version of Good Morning, Vietnam!) and now that he has finished his military service, they still live there, because his wife has a U.S. government job there and he is hosting a TV show there. He flew home to the USA to film the audition tape with only a one-day notice! The link to the clip is below. He's a great guy and a huge sports fan, who also is a very kind supporter of the non-profit Hall of Fame where I work.
Now the link didn't work...but MEED, who had taken a fall that day while out, fixed the error and reposted it for her. No prompting. Nothing in it for them. Wow. I am continually amazed at the amount of raw talent we have at the colony. Case and point...Chris (newhampshirefree) entered the Sam Harris war on war video contest and won. One of our own! After seeing his winning video, I knew I had to have him work on my next project. I needed a 4 and a half minute teaser spot for colleges, clubs and theatres....I outlined what I needed and let him go to town.
WOW! That's the word that describes it. It had to be tv clean, fun, colorful, move at a fast clip and most of all, showcase and sell me. Here it is for all of you to see. I am still amazed at how wonderful it is. I was expecting it to be good...But I was never expecting, Superfantasticknockmeoffmysocksfantastical.

Please Welcome Sophia!
Allow me to introduce the youngest addition to the colony, Sophia Maria. We welcomed her at 10:20am, August 21, 2008. She weighs 7lbs 10ounces and is 20 inches long. She is already 1/3 my height. Yikes.
Here is a peek at the most magical gift from above. Those are the Nurse's hands, teaching mommy and baby how to nurse. It was Sophia's first meal with us...Life is miraculous. This week I went from watching it escape from a loved one...to watching it fill a room of five. Effortlessly. I was lucky to be one of them. When she held her babyfor the first time, I witnessed my baby sister become a mother. As she coddled her little one, a great sense of strength and motherhood flowed from her and filled the room. Love coarsed through her body like an endless electricity. My sadness is forced to stay at bay. Her hardened exterior - a result of years living in a harsh city - melts away like a thawed spring stream coursing down a rolling hill. A powerful feminine energy was present - somehow I knew it had been around for a million million years - encouragement and comfort were her gifts. -- like an old friend. Life is fragile. Love is fragile. But you know what? I would risk getting broken and shattered a zillion times, just to witness what I saw today. Thank you universe. I AM ALIVE. Colony, you say it. At that very moment, hundreds of you at the same time were saying that very phrase. Think about that. Someone you don't know, or have ever met, is on the same plane of existence as you. Take comfort that you aren't alone. You have me and I you. Beautiful can't be spelled without u.
And a short but sweet one and I am calling it a night. Between both hospitals and my normal schedule, I am operating on little or zero sleep. If I am in short supply, please bear with me.

Serendipity.
When I thought about fame, I used to think it would fix everything in my world. I would have adoration, friends, money and respect. Most of all I thought I would be carefree. That isn't the case. What's the old saying..where ever you go, there you are.
My life hasn't been any more or less carefree than when I wasn't "famous." As a matter of fact, I'd venture to say, it was more carefree then. But there is one important factor that "celebrity" brings...YOU.
For whatever reason, at some point you ended up here...A place that would have never been created if I hadn't reached some level of success. It doesn't matter. What does matter is, YOU. I am so glad we are able to move beyond all the make believe magic, and become friends and confidents. That's the real magic. This is been the most difficult month of my life...with my family far away, I needed people. I have a hard time reaching out...But that didn't stop serendipity from dropping by. Take a look. (oh, and said in a very humble tone) Thank you my friend.

Wreckage of my past.
Recently I was made aware of something I already knew, but didn't want to face. In my ongoing effort to live the 4 Agreements, today I did something about it. I wanted to share it with you because I want you all to see that we all go through the same stuff. Every person, every color, every gender, every level -- everybody. I have redacted any identifying information about them, and please do not email me asking me who they are. I am sharing it with you to show you that the 4 agreements does work. It works now and it will work to correct mistakes I've made before I even knew the 4 Agreements existed. Here is the email I sent a few hours ago to right a wrong.

Dear ########,
I'm not very good at expressing my thoughts and feelings. I've been hearing from a few people that you have a great deal of distaste for me and I can’t say that I blame you. Please don't stop reading, this isn't what you think. First. I am so sorry for the way I have treated you in the past. Many years ago you were starring on a show called, "## ## ##." I was asked to guest star on the show and I behaved like a complete asshole while I was there. I even insulted you by pretending not to know the name of the show. You called me on it and I still acted like a dick. What an pompous ass! My ego and deep routed insecurities about my own abilities were running amok and unchecked. I thought by making your show seem small and forgettable I would somehow feel better about myself. I wish I could go back.
Later, running into you on the circuit, I would say and behave in a way that was unkind, negative and nasty toward you . Calling you an alcoholic, gossiping and even putting down your book. Just writing this makes me sick to my stomach – I feel like such a tool. That scared little 8 year old boy inside who was always told he wouldn't amount to anything...that he was shit - Was now running the show. And I don't know when it happened...but at some point in my life I got the screwed up idea that if I put you down, I would feel better about myself. That is probably the biggest behavior I am most ashamed of. I hurt you, another spirit on Earth, out of petty jealousy and a desperate need to feel better than you. Words can't take back what I've said or done. But I have owed you an apology for a long time. ######...I am sorry. An apology I've learned is not just, "I'm sorry." It's also a promise. A promise to never engage in the behavior your are apologizing for again. I will make these more than words on a page. I will turn them into actions. I am truly sorry.
The power of the word is great. With far reaching consequences. Words of encouragement and praise can create a great singer. Negative words, used to cut, can make a young singer question and eventually quit if they hear it enough times. I don't want to be a coward anymore. I don't want to become that vindictive nasty man wondering why he's alone. I want to be able to look people in the eye and know that I was a good friend, neighbor and worker. I want to become the man that God intended me to be. This is a step toward that. Clearing up my wreckage.
You are probably thinking, he's doing this to get on my show. I'm not. I have told my Reps to stop pitching me and to turn down an offer if one came. I'm doing this because I've needed to for a long time. Fear and time have made it difficult. Then I heard what I heard and I needed to step up. If you made it this far, thank you for reading. I’m not expecting a response. You are extremely talented and gifted. Keep sharing your gifts with the world. It’s helping.

A favor and a lesson.
Hey gang...
First, Lydia, from the myspace colony is having a rough time right now. Her grandmother recieved some bad news regarding her health. I'm sure she could use some prayers and your words today. 8989. Thougths and prayers on the express train from me to you.
I have finished packing for my mini tour to Provincetown, Ma. again. I am looking forward to it a lot. A bunch of colony members are meeting me there...They are coming to my first night's show, then the following day we are doing a late breakfast or early lunch to gab and gab.
