ok. get this. monday was rainy and hellish. yesterday was beautiful and sunny. today... rainy and hellish! what the F is going on???

i just got a call from the guy i was supposed to give an english lesson to. he has to cancel because he didn't sleep very well last night (he's on sick leave from work because of tendonitis in his feet, and he's in a lot of pain). which is fine by me because i'm sleepy myself. but! i was hoping he could help me with my resume, so now i'm up a creek without a paddle. so to speak.

It’s supposed to be a holiday today in Sweden, but my morning started off with an emergency telephone conference due to a critical error discovered in an application built in one of the projects in which I’m involved. Everyone seemed really tense and just seemed to want to put the blame on someone else. Not a good method for sorting out problems. It got me really pissed and it gave me a splitting headache.
.
But then I watched today’s vlog, and seeing your happy, lovely face and listening to your hilarious comments about all sorts of things sure made it all so much better. :) I’m gonna watch it a few more times since I’m convinced it’s going to cure my headache much quicker than a pill would.
.
I wish you all the best on your trip to New York. (Yes, I love that town, too.) And I’ll do my damnedest to find a way of listening to you on Howard Stern over the Internet.

Hey there Colony!

Life is busy here lately.
Some good busy, some bad busy, but busy all around.

4 years ago tomorrow (May 1) my sister got the call that changed her life.
After 35 years of diabetes and 3 years on dialysis, they called her to the hospital for a kidney and pancreas transplant. She finally got into surgery technically on May 2nd after a long and crazy day at the hospital.
Did you know organs are delivered by taxi???
Our whole family was sitting in the main entry lobby waiting to hear that my sister was checked in. Little did we know that she WAS and was in a room alone wondering where WE were!
So we sat and waited nervously thinking we would hear that she was in a room.
My dad was white as a sheet and so visibly worried.
We were all trying to "be ok" and deal with what was happening and what may happen.
A taxi pulled up and the driver brought in a big cardboard box.
Jokingly, someone said "maybe that's Dy's new organs".
As the driver stood at the nurses counter I saw the sticker on the side that said "live organs".
Yes. It was my sister's new life delivered in a cardboard box by a taxi driver.
My brother in law went up and talked to him and he then came over to us as we thanked him for delivering us hope.
As we then watched the nurse put the box on a cart and wheel it away we all were crying and goose bumpy.
We finally found out my sister was in a room and began what seemed like a very long night of waiting for her to be ok'd for the transplants.
The surgeon arrived to find that they had not done the tests yet to see if they were a match.
They couldn't DO the test because they lost the organs!!!
They were misplaced I guess, found, then finally the tests could be given.
That caused a more than 4 hour delay, and my poor dad got even more pale.
Late that night, we sat watching SNL in the family room and a nurse came in to say that yes, the organs were for my sister and soon she would go into surgery.
As we all went to see her, and just as they were about to wheel her down to the ER, a code blue alert delayed that happening for at least an hour.

But finally...... at around 1:30 in the morning, my sister started her new life.
No more diabetes, and a working kidney.

I didn't plan to write about this today but thanks for the place to do so ANT.

Please consider organ donation.
My sister's organs were from someone who died from a drug overdose.
That is all we know.
I so wish her family could know how much they changed our families life by their selfless act of giving organs.
I hope everyone will consider being organ donors.
I have my sister because of it.

Hi, TRESA! How are you? I got some exciting news last night. My sister had her sonogram yesterday. The baby is healthy and in the 93rd percentile for size - a big healthy baby (roughly the size of a coke can now LOL) and they re-assigned her due date from September 22nd to September 12th. And, she's having... A BOY!!

EMJAY What an amazing story. All of my thoughts have been so geared around my sister, especially since finding out she was pregnant. I can't begin to imagine what it would be like to see her in such a dire situation. God Bless the family who made the decision to donate the organs of their loved one. It truly is the gift of life! Give her a hug for me the next time you see her - the bond between sisters is magical.

good morning everyone, I hoe your all well. i can breath now after the shout outs.

Hello anyone I missed when i wrote it. I hope you all are great.
I just found out the only guy in our section of the science center i work at gave his two weeks notice which means re-arranging the may schedual wich means me working even more days which kinda sucks I know it means money in my pocket but what it does to my sanity is another thing. We are in different states, but the emails have become so bad, negative, demanding, etc. that I can't take it anymore. Sad, we were the closest of friends at one time, now I think it was to just pull another job. Sibling is a control freak to the max.

My son was diving with some friends off Oahu and he felt as if something was "looking" at him. He turned around and it was a dolphin giving birth!!!!

Tutu- I keep my curtains closed because of my head, but also so I don't have to see him come and go and living his life while I'm sick. He has no regard for anyone, but himself. I won't put up with crap at all anymore. It's not negative to me, but just stupid stuff.

Well, siblings emails were directed toward me. Hubby made a statement that makes so much sense. I have been "conditioned" since the day I was born. It was one of those "AhHa" moments for me.

Sibling has climbed the corporate ladder and it went to head. I got sick, so income was cut in half. Sibling has no problem going places all the time, but let me do one thing she doesn't "approve" of and yikes! So, bum-bye

Tutu- Got ya! My brother is a millionaire because of his father in law and I'm on LTD and hubby works for a car dealership. So I know what you mean.

One of these days it will be their turn to be sick. Karma. What goes around comes around. AhHa moment is right.

Dawn, one time we took the PWF for a whale cruise. The capt. is a friend. We had to sit and wait for over an hour as the whales played UNDER and ALONG side of us.

My folks were with us and one of my friends on the island, and we all couldn't believe it. The one male would go under the boat and just be still. His head was way out on one side and his tail was way out on the other side of the boat. Well, come to find out, when the other whales came around they decided it was time to party!

Ah, the joys of mating time. So we also go the X rated version. LOL

Tutu, I fell out with my sister after the death of our mother. It will be 4 yrs in July. I feel she has missed a lot. We recently started communicating through myspace. It's a start. What can I say, it is what it is. We've had our ups and downs.

PWF boat. Once the mother whale came right beside the boat. You know about 1/2 size longer than the boat with her calf right beside her jumping out and playing. Like you say right beside the boat. Another time the whales that are like dolpins. Oh shoot, I can't remember what they are called now. Oh yeah, false whales I think. We had to sit for about an hour too. It was just wonderful.

Ginger, since Mums things are settled yet (ever get the feeling you are getting ripped off by the trust company?) sibling has blamed me for everything.

Sibling could go on holidays and such while Mum was going downhill rapidly, but she just couldn't really find the time to come and help or visit. Oh well, her loss. I took care of both parents and am very happy I was able to do so. I have the great memories!

Ginger- Like Tutu says we can all be cyber sisters. It's weird what a death does to people. My Mom died 6 yrs ago and my brother got all weird too.

Dawn, on our way out that day, we also saw a mum and her calf resting. She had finished nursing and tossed him on her back. Guess it is difficult to get a decent babysitter in the middle of the ocean.

I don't know the situations with all your sibs, but I felt like my sister took over our past. She went to my mother's house while I sat vigil in hospital, and took all the photo albums and photographs in the house!
I have no photos of myself as a child, my mother lost her photos years before. She only got the duplicates after her mother died! I feel robbed! I also feel my mother could have prevented all the discord by leaving a will but, she refused! I think (although sometimes guiltily) my mother wanted us to fight over her stuff!

Anyway, I have a granddaughter now, and would like to compare photos, you know?

Emma, I do the same from time to time at work, just sitting down doing nothing or doing completely irrelevant things. Ususally happens when the to-do-list is so long that it's overwhelming. It's really strange that the instinctive reaction becomes the complete opposite of the solution.

Hey Heidi!!!!

Emma, one of the techniques that I try to use to get out of such situations and get everything done is to make a separate to do list for each task. And I make them ridiculously detailed. So for instance, if the task would be to write a document, I would list:
.
1) Start the computer
2) Fetch the background material
3) Create and name an empty document
4) Set up outline for headers at top level
.
And so on. You get the picture, right? This means that I can actually very soon start to delete items from my list because they are so small that they don’t take much time each. It kind of distracts you from the fact that the task as a whole is really big and time consuming.

I have to find ways of tricking my lazy mind almost all the time. =)

Heady: Right now I'm really fine I have a four-day weekend, but other then that I'm kinda stressed because I have graduation coming up in 6 weeks and there is so much that's supposed to be done before that.

Yes I do work at an interesting place Matilda I work at a science center I love it get to meet people from all over. I went to a volunteer award ceremoney last night one of our volunteers who's been volunteering for 24 years(since the day we opened) got an award and he didn't know it so my self and two other co-workers showed up to support him he was so surprised it was awesome i hope the pictures turned out on my camera. sometimes my digital camera gets pixilie but i'll check them out tonight. Hi EVERYONE!! COLEEN--I wish you comfort today about your son and will be thinking of him and wishing him the best. I just caught up on all the posts and was really touched by everyone last night who was discussing their families. I could very much relate. I wanted to share something that a friend of mine did when their parents died. The instructions for dividing up the parents things were that all siblings gathered at the parents home(there were 5) and made 5 separate piles that they deemed to be equal in value ( sentimentally and monetarily). After they all agreed the piles were equal then they drew numbers and whatever number you received that was your pile. It made it so there could be no hurt feelings amongst the siblings. I know that this is not a perfect system but sometimes it is hard for parents to decide what to leave each child because so much of their things mean something to everyone. My parents have started to scan all the family pictures and are going to put them on CD and then everyone can order a CD and make copies of the photos they want. I hope that this happens because it is so hard to divide pictures. Anyways, I wish everyone peace in their hearts and a great day ♥ I want to say hi to everyone but lately have been very busy, so just know that I am waving madly and sending hugs to everyone too ♥♥♥♥

COLEEN- I've been watching a 10 part series that is airing on Canadian PBS about Carrier. (It's about living on the Nimitz out in Persian Gulf). Coleen--that is hard when your family does not all live close. I hope your dad gets to enjoy the dining table for a long time. I have 5 siblings and only one lives near me. I lived on a Reservation when I was in elementary school and it was such a great experience. I am hoping to visit there soon and show my 13 year old all of the wonderful archaeological things. I say it was a wonderful experience because for me it taught me what it was like to be on the receiving end of prejudice. I look very white but I have 3 Indian tribes in me and numerous other things. Out of the 6 siblings some are darker some are lighter. I took on the Irish dark hair and blue eyes. I would be made fun of on the playground and called derogatory terms for white people. I also made a lot of friends and had a good time. I am grateful for experiencing the prejudice because it has made me less prejudiced in my own life. I am not crazy enough to think I don't have any prejudices but I really actively try to understand my responses to things. My parents do a lot of work on the Reservation near where they live. They live in Western New York. My dad would tell us the scariest Indian stories when we were camping. They had been passed down and I keep hoping he will write them down. I can still remember sleeping(or trying to)in the tent and picturing the horseman with ears hanging off his saddle. I had not thought of that in a while--THANKS for triggering a great memory ☺

Dawn--I can't believe you live across the street from your brother! You are brave. I would always feel paranoid. It is amazing the power siblings can have, even when they aren't in your life.

MRS BEAN- I love your family story. I find it so fasinating and that you took all the positive stuff instead of the negative. I don't know if you know, but my husband was born in Guyana, South America. He looks Spanish, West Indian etc etc. It depends where we are what he gets mistaken for. We have been married 34 yr and this yr is 35yr. I honestly can say we have not encountered any racism etc being married black and white except from my family. My husband and I both though don't look for it and it's just not there for us. We laugh sometimes though as some people just know us as Shaf & Dawn. If either one of us is not with the other the people know they know us, but can't figure out where. Then I always joke and say you know the black and white person together. I guess it's our attitude that we never feel any backlass or maybe it's living in Canada. We have travelled the world though and we just haven't ever hit on any problems. Coleen has shared her story with me before. I love hearing all the stories. Like you say you wish parents would write them down.

After I drive off from the gas station, I get about 3 blocks, and my car starts sputtering and the CHECK ENGINE light comes on!

I pull over as soon as I can, and call roadside service. They show up, and the guy doesn't want to get out of his tow truck (where's that tow truck guy that Heady had???) because it's SNOWING - so I get to stand outside of his truck (in the SNOW) and give him my information. Oh what a gentleman! :P

Yes, I missed the doctor's appointment (and they were nice enough not to charge me a 'missed appointment' fee).

And now I wait for the verdict of my car repairs!

I'm still having visions of making a big snowball and throwing it at the tow truck driver! Ahhh, fantasies!

Your story about your friends made me laugh ☺ AMI ANT--I don't know if you have a newer car but that happened to my friend and the problem just turned out to be that the gas cap was not on tight enough. The newer cars have sensitive gas caps and if you don't click it enough it will trigger the check engine light. You have to re close it and the re start your car. Usually it will reset itself. I am sorry you had a bad morning! This is some wacky weather here in the West, huh? When I took my son to school this morning it was 33 degrees. At least I didn't have to scrape the windows! Now I really have to get ready for the dentist (Can you tell I have been putting it off)?☺

I have heard on the news of some problems of water getting into the gas tanks at the stations. It's worth mentioning in case it is as the gas tank would have to be drained or the problem I would suspect would persist. It means a whole lot of people are going to have a problem if this is happening. The gas companies should be held responsible if it is. I would want a sample bottle of the gas if it is the problem to prove it.

I found this on the web..and it makes sense with what happened this morning to me. I was pushing the 'E' mark to its limit! From now on, I will not let my gas tank get so low!!! Maybe that's not the issue here, but makes sense going forward, to be cautious....

It's almost impossible to prove that water in a vehicle's gas tank was introduced at the time of fueling. There are a lot of normal ways that water can get into the tank. Running a tank half full or less most of the time can contribute to moisture condensing inside it. It is better to keep your tank as full as possible most of the time to minimize condensation inside the tank.
.
Given that the accumulation of a small amount of water is not unusual, gas tanks are designed with two features to avoid the problems. The first is that the fuel pickup tube, which is connected to the pump, does not reach down to the very bottom of the tank, where any existing water collects. (Water weighs more than gas.)
.
Second, a nylon screen on the fuel pickup tube in the tank "usually" prevents water from being sucked up. However, if the tank is run very near to the empty mark, as indicated in this case by the large fuel charge, then accumulated water can be sucked up along with the gasoline. This, in turn, can result in engine roughness, loss of power or even complete engine stalling.
Some gasoline refiners add chemicals to the gas that allow small amounts of water to be absorbed and burned off with the gasoline.

The only way the gas station could have been at fault is if the canister-type filter at the gas station pump had not been properly serviced and changed, or if the station's fuel storage tank was itself nearly empty.
.
For future reference, any time you encounter or suspect a problem at the gas pump - from water in the tank to incorrect octane level to inaccurate weight - you may file a complaint with the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Service's petroleum inspection bureau in your state. If other consumers complained about this particular gas station at the same time, you might have a chance to recoup your money.

I'm a distrusting person when it comes to dealerships, mechanics, oil companies, etc. I have heard the line one too many times that "we've never heard that complaint before. YOU'RE THE ONLY ONE!!" Some years ago I experienced a battle as within 2 months, a recall was secretly issued for the exact problem. No publicity. There had to have been numerous complaints for a recall to be issued. If your mechanic didn't know about them, why would I. Almost a thousand dollar repair bill -- & yes, the car company finally paid it as I sent to newspapers & TV stations. Recall no longer on the QT!! I don't play nice with these kinds of things. My father's car experienced the same thing too about 6 weeks after mine. He got fed the same line.

In a different car problem, he ended up having cylinder problems with a car he loved. It was costing him a fortune. Ended up the car company paid for numerous repairs and had to pay as long as he owned the car!! Finally proven it was a defect. I can't remember why they didn't just change the engine but I don't know the innards workings of a car!!

I just saw your post re gas tanks. My father was a stickler about filling the gas tank as condensation can form in the tank when running low. The other reason to not let it run so low is that there is like a sort of dirty sludge in the bottom of the fuel tank and that too can be sucked into the engine.

Before I was allowed to get my license, I had to learn to change tires, check oil, check fluids, check tires, etc. There was no way my father was allowing me to get my license until I showed him I could do this. He did the same thing with my Mother as she got her license after me. Something everyone should learn really.

Is there no such thing as privacy anymore? In this day of 24-hour infotainment and stalkerazzi, even simple folk like myself can't get a modicum of privacy about a very personal matter!
You all know I was doctoring (I thought it was for my asthma and blood pressure, as I had some foot swelling that made me wobble like a Weeble!) After my doctor visit, I decided only to share my diagnosis with five real world people and three cyber world people. I wanted to come here and ask for prayers, but I decided to spare you all the drama. (Obviously, I've changed my mind and am feeling a bit dramatic at the moment.)
I told my mother, my husband and my daughters. Then I told my boss, due to restrictions I had to explain.
Well, today, the head of a local bed and breakfast (a notorious town busibody) walks into my office to ask for an item I had said I'd get to her this week. (Still one day left in the week, last time I checked!) So, I offered a mild apology, even though I felt none was needed yet, and I began to offer a suitable explanation for the delay. My mother (my co-worker) points at me and blurts out to this person, "SHE HAS CONGESTIVE HEART FAILURE!"
Ahem. Well, isn't that nice?
When they walked to the back of our building to get the item, I texted my mother's phone, "Ask her not to tell anyone! She's the last person I would ever have said that to."
So, my mother returns to my office (where she spends all her time annoying me instead of at her own desk working) and she's acting all snippy with ME about it, as if I've done something wrong. "If that's how you keep something a complete secret," I remarked, "remind me to never tell you anything."
Is she sorry? No. She's pi$$ed off. Go figure.
Now, I'm not stupid. I know as my mother she must be concerned and perhaps in her nervousness she just blurted it out. I'm not saying that because it makes it okay; I'm only saying it because someone else will say it in an attempt to make me understand it. I understand it. I just don't like it.
I felt that I had a right to privacy on this issue. I'm not like her. She practically took an ad in the paper when she got breast cancer. Couldn't tell enough people when she had a stroke. Just not my style.
Well, I am a little frustrated with how my week is going, and I'm trying ever so hard to have a happy face and keep a stiff upper lip, and chins up and all that crap. But, you know what? This really made me mad. By sundown, the entire Tri-State Area where I live will know my medical business. :(
On the flip side, since I've decided to vent or go crazy on her up in here and kill her and go to live out the rest of my days in a W.Va. women's prison, possibly with Martha Stewart's old cell mate, now I guess I at least have told you all, my friends.
I have congestive heart failure. What a fine birthday present for my 47th in a week or so, eh? (Oh, now I'm channeling my Canadian friends!)
I could use your prayers, not so much for my health as my ability to stay positive, be a good patient and just trouper through this.
I'm sure things will work out. My doctor says I had about 35 pounds of fluid on me, and since I started medication yesterday, already 8 pounds have come off. I am seeing a cardiologist on Tuesday.
If any ants have experienced this medical problem or have a family member who has, I would, of course, appreciate any advice you'd like to offer. I was warned by my doctor to "do nothing," at least for now. I talked him into letting me come to work, because I said I'd be more stressed at home worrying about work (with our big annual event coming up).
With my mother's slip up today, I'm not sure that was true after all, but we'll play it by ear.

I learned & got license on automatic as Dad had bought an automatic car for Mom & I. His was stick & wouldn't let us near it!!! I vaguely remember him saying the line -- You touch, you die!!! I wanted to learn to drive stick so I think my 3rd car, I bought one. Nothing like jumping in with both feet!! Couldn't test drive it. Bought it - Owned it. Now I had to get it home!!! Friend went with me & gave me a 1/2 hr lesson after we left the lot and I was on my own. What a nightmare!!

I lived just north of Toronto. Bought car east of Toronto. Parents lived north of Toronto. Got on Canada's major highway for a bit & nerves kicked in as I caught up to rush hour traffic. Oh hells bells!!! Got off and had to make lefthand turn. Stalled in middle of intersection. Horns blarred. I got madder and got out and pushed the car!!! Then sat with map to figure out how to get to firstly Mom & Dad's by way of right hand turns only. Hadn't told Dad it was stick so he was totally surprised. Left there to go home mapping out the same thing. Then had to drive to friend's house just west of Toronto as we were leaving on 2 week vacation the next morning. Returned from vacation to have to try it all again.

I lived 10 minutes from where I worked. Going was right turns. Coming home was left. I went home in opposite direction so it was right turns until I could do lefts without stalling.
.
Learning stick paid off later as when I was moving, a friend got hand jammed between furniture & elevator door & he was bleeding & passing out. The truck at front entrance was stick & had to be moved for ambulance to get in door so I hopped in and moved it!!! The hurt friend was the driver of the truck and no one else knew how to drive stick!!!
.
Never driven stick since!!! Automatic lives forever!!!!

I have to admit, since buying this car (used), I haven't checked spare or tools. Now on my list of things to do!!!

BEDBUG--I am so sorry you are having such an awful time. Hopefully, your mother will realize she upset you and let you know she is sorry. I am wondering what form of CHF do you have? Do they know why you have it, is what I mean. I know that the treatment is different for each reason. I do know some people who have had this because of high blood pressure and once they were treated with the right medicine they recovered. I hope you will be able to find the proper treatment. (I do know stress is not good for it) But getting rid of stress as we all know is easier said than done. I am going to pick up son from school now so he can watch his brother while I go to my torture session.

Sorry about your mom - people that aren't private just cannot process why it is so important to keep things private. It's not in their realm of reality. I have friends like that. It stinks that I can't share with them. They don't do it malisciously (spill the beans) but to protect myself, I've learned not to tell them things I don't want on the 5:00 news.

To let you know -- You are not alone as to the issue of your mother's vocal chords, I can relate -- totally. I know it's very frustrating that people feel like they have the entitlement to disclose information they are not. I suffer that in my family too. I call it 'their airing of my dirty laundry' syndrone. We suffer the same cross-border!!

To let you know, we are in somewhat the same boat this week. In fact, I read the riot act to my aunt who visited yesterday. I advised her that if she felt the need to tell the various people she planned to that my mother was not doing well and disclose the whole situation that I have kept quiet to most for the past 5 yrs, she would be cut off of visitation. She said she doesn't want that so will not say anything but has to let them know when Mom passes. DON'T THINK SO LADY!! That's my choice of who, if any. Aren't you putting it in the paper she asked -- NOPE. Mom, Dad & I are/were total opposites to the rest of the family. Like your mother, my aunt is one that has to let everyone know everything, medically, etc. I don't think a week goes by that she doesn't have one and sometimes 2 dr's appointments and everyone knows about them.

For me, I have the attitude of these people she talks of, relatives included, never really bothered with Mom after Dad passed and therefore have no entitlement to anything. Blood doesn't give entitlement. Most have no idea where we live now and I like it like that. Mom knows no one, me included the past few years. In fact Mom's other sister never had the time to take her coat off to have a cup of tea with Mom when she was well for over 7 years. She can stuff it in her ear now!!! When it happens -- it will be silently.

The good thing for me is that my aunt knows I mean business. Mom's sister I mentioned re tea, last saw her in 2003. Her first attempt to visit was 2006. 3 years. I refused her visitation. Don't respect when she's healthy, don't expect when she's not. I wrote this to let you know -- you are not alone in this frustration. Drives me nuts too!! But they know me well enough that I will shut it down and stand by it. I see AmiAnt post she suffers that same thing. 'Dirty laundry/entitlement syndrone'

Bedbug -- I have no info re what you have. Do remember though -- as much as you enjoy the work, if it is not good for you at the moment -- don't go. There is no thanks for it but you could be doing more harm to yourself. Do what's best for your health.

JIGGLIN IN JAX- My girlfriend has colon cancer stage 3. She is getting her portacath put in Monday and starts her chemo Wed. I've looked at the meds she will be receiving and no injection. Does your friend have leukemia or lymphoma or what for the bone marrow?

BEDBUG- Stay calm. My Mom had congestive heart failure for over 15 yrs. She was on BP meds, diuretics and heart meds. When do you see the Cardiologist. They will give you all the answers you need. Thinking of you and praying for you for calm.

Where I am in Canada, the cable company was a season behind when it was on TV so I never really watched it then. When the final show was on, we couldn't watch it so when it did come on, it was "so". It was so publized and on every news cast and gossip broadcast, that when it did come on, already knew what it was about. It's now middle of the night late time view material.

LCS with ANT played real time this year. WOW!!! Shortly after that they started playing all the seasons and I just watched ANT when he was a comic participant. Hilarious as the bus tour director, but out of date as that was season 2. Same with CFC -- just saw season 2 not that long ago.

It's the frustrating part of US and Canadian TV. When we go to watch videos on VH1, and many other network sites, it won't play for people outside the U.S. I think it was Andrea that posted that VH1 let's us watch the ads but not the videos!! Block the ads -- show the videos!! Poopies!!

I'll pray things go well for your husband and he misses this wave of layoffs. So far my husband missed one wave, but they cut all the hours back to a few days a week. If he misses the next wave, things could improve slightly as the remaining people would have to take 12 hour shifts.

Thank you to everyone for your kind words today and prayers. My mind's a little too distracted to recreate the individual shoutouts accurately, so forgive me. But I did read them all.
You know, when you're waiting for a doctor appointment and you have just a little bit of information, the internet can be a blessing and a curse. I've gained some understanding, and I've got a good list of questions to ask, but I've also read some scary crap that I'd rather not have seen ... and now can't get out of my head. I may not sleep until Tuesday.

I don't know if many remember my great concern about "Jack"--my autistic cat. He has congestive heart failure. If anyone remembers and wants to know: Jack went to the Vet on Thursday---he climbed into the carrier without any...well, with nothing! He seemed to know that he was sick and that he was going to get better. (I know that dogs "know things"....but a cat? I dunno.)

Jack's alive! He was well-behaved at the vet (that same doctor had only given him a coupla months last fall). Spencer, Jack's doggie pal went with him to help him stay calm...So it was a bit of a family affair. :)
I really love you guys for tolerating my rambling about these guys. :)

Jazzy: I know someone who took his cat to the vet every 48 hours for IV fluids, just trying to help her be comfortable. I have only admiration and understanding in these instances.

I loved my kitty. She was having kidney failure and had lost over half her weight and couldnt hold the bladder anymore. She was 4 lbs when I had to put her down last year. And she knew what we were doing. Before the doc gave her the shot she licked my face almost to thank me for being with her to the end.

awwww Jazzy, my last cat decided to go outside onto the balcony about 5 min before we had to leave for the vet,(i had made appointment, didn't want her to suffer any more) she just layed down and went to sleep. She new and decided to do it her way. They are amazing.

Losing an animal companion is hard; many people don't recognize the true grief. My heart goes out to you.

Jazzy: This cat had the same issues--kidneys, that was the worst. She came into the bedroom, after having "hidden" herself.
She probably weighed 5-6 lbs. toward the end. She chose to come into the bedroom and sleep on the floor then...just...because.

Dawn, I'm with you on the grilled cheese! As a matter of fact I make the BEST! We have a bread here at the bakery called "English Toasting Bread" I pre warm the 7in. skillet while I butter the bread, then use colby/jack cheese and thinly sliced tomatoes! I use a small pan cover that also fits my skillet and cover while grilling, it makes the bread very crunchy! I like to dip my grilled cheese in tomato soup!

When I worked in a Dr's office in Winnipeg Manitoba a girl I worked with had a sandwich grill that you put your bread and cheese in and then put that on the burner. OMG it was so good. Dawn- I stopped eating pork when I was pregnant with Jeremy. I was going to eat pork again after he was finished breastfeeding. Had every intention! Then I attended this I.S.N.A. convention in Kansas, at the U. and they showed me cooked bacon under a microscope...yuk! They even let me cook it! So it was cooked the way I would have eaten it! Needless to say I didn't eat it! Then when I came home I wasn't able to eat it again! I still love to smell it though!!! And I do miss eating loaded pizza, but now the turkey and beef substitutes are very close in flavor!

Bedbug, My prayers and thoughts are with you. This must be a scary time for you.
It would be nice if our friends and family would keep our confidences. When the situation with my husband started, my choice was to keep it low profile for several reasons including a necessary one of not having our finances affected. Yet somehow they thought discussing it with others was what they would do.At this challenging time, well, it did not feel to be a help to me or us. I can't guess why people do it, fear maybe, or by sharing it it lessens the burden some may feel. Those around us are affected too. Maybe your Mom is scared and not knowing what to do.
My mom has has a problem with fluid since heart valve surgery. For awhile her symptoms were the same as CHF. She has been taking dandelion root in capsule form which has made quite a difference in reducing the fluid. She has no fluid now. The original medication didn't agree with her. She has been taking various herbs which have helped her a great deal. Dandelion can be taken with meds too and it has good healing qualities. Hawthorn berries is another herb which strengthens the heart. The standarized form of herbs is a better form. Check with you doc about taking any herbs.

So, 4 weeks ago when my parents said they wanted the kids this weekend, we called all the gals and set it up. Now it's fizzeling down. I think only one out of the group is still up for going.

I am not sure exactly what type of cancer she has, she has never said, and I have never asked. I know that this is her third battle. She had a full mastectomy last time and reconstruction. She went in for a routine check up with her regular doc and she found a lump near her arm pit. They removed it and she is having chemo, and they did this injection that is time released. It is to help boost cell growth. She said they did not have this shot years ago when she went through chemo with breast cancer. I have not really asked much as she is very ill right now, but she has said that she does not want the shot when she has to go in for her next treatment. I was wondering if you knew anything about this. I know you are a nurse. Perhaps she will get feeling better and we can talk a bit more.

The error message was not the Content Submission Error box one but a one line of an error at line whatever. Not the normal error. Who knows but after I posted the one above, got booted off & had to sign in again. Pain in the butttt!!

Wow. This baby stuff really gets us going, right? Lydia, take it from a woman who wants a baby more than anything, your three sound like a dream come true! BEDBUG!! I would love to come and "mother" you. I love doing that for people. I would bring you a big cozy comforter right out of the dryer. Put your feet up on warm pillows. Bring you lots of nice tea, magazines to read, the remote for the TV. While you are resting, I will clean up around the house...I do laundry, dishes, dust, and vaccuum. You wouldn't have to worry about a thing! I hope you are resting and doing well today!

Hola colony! I bet you are all wondering why there is no vlog today? Me too!

I got home from JFK last night all jazzed (hiya Jazzy) and ready to shoot a late entry.

I go into my home office and no computer! At this point I'm in a panic because now I'm thinking I actually brought it with me to NYC and I left it on the plane 3 days ago...
My phone rings...it's Aunt Clara...er...I mean Victor my assistant...welcome back!!!...Turns out, Victor mailed the computer into HP for repair since I left the return ship box out on the counter. An easy assumption on his part so I can't argue.

I call HP, it won't be back until the 9th of May. So until then, I'll be typing them and Craig (my amazing filler inner) will be uploading them and adding some dazzling video touches of his own.

Until tomorrow colony...I would love to read some well wishes because I'm feeling kinda needy today. What? At least I'm being honest about it. Xxoo

We are gonna hold a speech in swedish. So we all got an english speech to translate (hence me needing a transcript due to the horrible sound.) this is the speech we're gonna hold for the oral part. But we are also supposed to analysis how the speech is written (introduction, conclusion and outline)and performed.

I have heard lines pulled from the poem, reworded and used from time to time, but not the poem in its entirety.

Some of the lines I've heard reworded and used are as follows:

I was very well behaved at dinner but it left me hungry. I baked this chicken I had picked up at the grocery with BBQ "rub" already on it, and when I tasted how salty it was, I didn't even eat more than 2 bites of it. Frankly, hardly anyone did. I'm thinking of skinning it, rinsing it and cubing it up for chicken salad tomorrow.

I got home from JFK last night all jazzed (hiya Jazzy) and ready to shoot a late entry.

I go into my home office and no computer! At this point I'm in a panic because now I'm thinking I actually brought it with me to NYC and I left it on the plane 3 days ago...
My phone rings...it's Aunt Clara...er...I mean Victor my assistant...welcome back!!!...Turns out, Victor mailed the computer into HP for repair since I left the return ship box out on the counter. An easy assumption on his part so I can't argue.

I call HP, it won't be back until the 9th of May. So until then, I'll be typing them and Craig (my amazing filler inner) will be uploading them and adding some dazzling video touches of his own.

Until tomorrow colony...I would love to read some well wishes because I'm feeling kinda needy today. What? At least I'm being honest about it. Xxoo

I seem to be developing a bit of a Bedbug moment here.
I really don't have time to fully play it out.
I must get my little Weeble stubs up in the air.
I'm drinking cranberry juice now to try to up the ante on the pee-pee roulette wheel. So far, not much luck. Oh, it's very most basic of life functions that we sooooo take for granted. Pee! Pee! My kingdom for some pee! If only I could pee! I could stop wobbling like a Weeble, and perhaps my poor, broken heart wouldn't "fail." What to do? What to do?

Tutu: No, no watermelon, because actually, the double whammy is that I'm on restricted fluid intake. Try that and still pee. Not easy. The Lasix is 20 mg. and I have diuretic in my blood pressure meds as well. You'd think that would be enough.
I'm all jokes and laughs on here, but sadly, the truth is, I'll probably have to end up with a hospital stay to get it off, since the pill isn't really doing it for me for some reason. I'm not too happy about it. But we'll see what Tuesday brings.

BedBug, true story coming.

Many years ago I was helping a friend (more like a brother) move back to Canada. His real brother was with us. We all have the same last name (just by chance).

We get to the border and have all the ?'s asked. Then, one of the agents comes over to me and asks me to get out of the truck. Ummm, OK. We are still at the door of the truck, so the guys could hear everything.

He asks me if I am being KIDNAPPED!!! I laughed and said, "Well, if you consider no one else wanting to help with the move...". WRONG thing to say. I had to explain that I was not being kidnapped, I was helping a friend. ANother WRONG thing to say.

He asked me why I said my name was the same as theirs! I said because that is my name. This is after showing him ID. I finally said we were related and we were finally allowed to leave.

We have laughed about that for many years, me and my smart mouth getting in trouble again. LOL

I have so many stories about border crossings. YIKES
