We have a WINNER!!!

WOW!!!! What a night. And our first Female Biggest Loser. And it couldn’t happen to a better person. Ali is so incredible, and genuine and hard working… I am so thrilled for her. I love all the contestants. So proud and impressed with their transformations – Bernie is so hot! Brittany, steamy hot! Jackie looks fabulous?! How cute is Jay??!!! And Roger is so handsome!

We all went out after the show to celebrate. I loved meeting everyone’s families. Mark & Jay’s sister explained to me that Jay used to watch Days when he was younger, so that’s why he couldn’t talk to me without blushing for the first several weeks! Lol. And I have my very own ‘Bern-dana’ now. I met Kelly’s incredibly supportive and funny family. They were all so fun to hang out with.

And, I needed to unwind. Those are the two most stressful hours for me!!! Mostly because I want it to be such a perfect experience for the contestants. I want them to enjoy themselves, show off their fab new bodies, but we have to put a show on! And that’s my job.. to keep the show going, keep things moving. And frankly, it wasn’t off to a great start when the teleprompter went out about 12 seconds into the live broadcast. I mean, come on. Actors worst nightmare. Luckily we made it through okay. And once I started introducing everyone, and the crowd was so wildly supportive and fun, it just all became such a party.
Ali was off on a plane to NYC that night to do the Today show on Wed morning. And then back to be on Ellen today – which will air on Friday (4/18). I went over to visit her on the set of Ellen.

. It is shot on the same lot as Days. Ali was FANTASTIC on the show. So cute, sweet and positive. She has such a great message to share with everyone. Afterwards, she asked if she could see where I work. I took her over to the Days set and it was the quickest spreading gossip. Cast and crew came out of the woodwork to come meet Ali give her a hug and congratulate her on her success. Ali is a big hugger. :) She walked through Salem, met Peter and Kristian (Bo and Hope).

Kristian gave her one of her bracelets of her own design. Hopefaithmiracles.com the bracelet has a charm on it that says “believe” and it gave me chills to see how it affected Ali to receive such an appropriate, and meaningful gift. She is such a sweetheart. And everyone loved meeting her.

Ali - you did such a FAB job last night!! :) So proud of you yet again! That must be the most nerve wracking thing, GOING LIVE, when every day you have someone "write your words"... I would be so "lost for words", but you were full of enthusiasm - PROUD TO CALL MYSELF A #1 FAN! :)

Did I catch a glimpse of an ALMOST repeat of last year's confetti ?? HAHA. (yes it was me that caught it last year). ;)

Enjoy your summer, hopefully there is some rest for you.

Cheers,
xo Julie

The finale was awesome! I was so happy that Ali won. She looked amazing and she just has the wonderful smile on her face all the time!

Wow, how amazing was that!! You did an amazing job all season keeping your cool even when it was really tough, didn't notice that your telepromter went out. How about that episode when Jillian lost it. She told you u, "Leave the F--- girl alone" I don't know if I would have kept it as together as you did. Thank goodness for those editors, right? Anyway I just wanted to say what a wonderful job I thought you did all season and I hoe you are with the show for many season's to come. I've loved watching you, and hated watching you for many years. You are great and doing a wonderful job. Keep it up.

Ali Sweeney, you used to be the girl on Days that I loved to hate, but that has all changed. You have such a big heart and caring attitude. You are my favorite now on DOOL. And Biggest Loser....wow, I get so caught up in that show! I can't wait to watch it every week. Congratulations to Ali for a well-deserved win. She does have a bright and endearing smile. I grew fond of all the contestants, as if they were old friends. Can't wait for the next edition of Biggest Loser next fall!

Wow! What an fantastic finale and I'm so glad that a girl finally won...Ali really deserved it! It was amazing to see everyone's transformations and it gave me chills just watching. Excellent job going live...I would have been terrified! I love you on both Days and The Biggest Loser and can't wait for next season! Keep up the good work and stay sweet...and hope Ben is doing well :o)
xoxo

Ali,

You did fantastic and looked so beautiful on the finale!! I was so proud of (the other) Ali at finally being the first female BL!! Woo!! Keep up the good work, can't wait to see Sami, Lucas, and Nicole this summer. Days has been SO good lately!!!!

Looking forward to next season's BL :)

Hi, Ali!

Fantastic finale! The best so far! It truly was anybody's prize to win; none of the finalists was a shoo-in. I have to say that Kelly impressed me so much with finding a way to work around her back injury and still move forward with her goals. I also loved the montage that the editors put together of the three finalists working, sweating, reciting their mantras to keep going. And yes, Ali's win was awesome, inspiring, tear-provoking, and just plain lovely. Thank you for the photos above, Alison, they are great.

I, too, hope you can get a bit of rest before the next season starts to tape, and greatly look forward to viewing it.

Ali,
So this message is about the other Ali, finally a woman winner. Anyway I guess I just wanted to send this message out there in hopes that one day she might read it. I am 24 years old and I don't have a good self-esteem. I don't really like the way I look. I don't need to lose the weight I am only 112 pounds but I was really inspired by Ali. This experience changed her life and it wasnt about the money or losing all the weight but it was about her getting her confidence and her life back. I cried at least once during every show this year. Each and every person was changed and they were new people. Ali changed my outlook on life so much. She talked so much about experiencing life and enjoying everyday. She felt beautiful which is something every woman wants. Why can't I feel like that? That is what I asked myself. I am young, healthy, and my friends tell me I am beautiful so what is holding me back? I guess what I am trying to say through all of this rambling is that the show and Ali really gave me a new outlook and I just want her to know the effect she has had on at least on person. And since I will never get the chance to tell her myself I hope that she will somehow get this message and know that her victory is a victory to others. Congrats!

Dear Daysof our lives

OR Ken CORDAY HAVE ALL NOT GOTTEN MY LETTERS THAT I WROTE YOU ALL

AND JUST KEEP ON WATEING FOR YOU ALL TO WRIGHT ME BACK BUT JUST SAVE DAYS OF OUR LIVES

What a fantastic season! Congrats to both Ali's for their successes on BL5! What an inspiration...I actually got off the couch and drove down to the gym to watch the last 30 min of the finale while on the elliptical trainer!

Totally inspired me to get to the gym yesterday and workout which I did, thanks for the great season5 Ali.

Hey Allison! Up extremely late tonight working (a.k.a procrastinating via the NBA Playoffs), and came across your blog... AMAZING!!! You are freaking unbelievable...a ROCK STAR for sure!

As a newcomer to this here corner of the blogosphere, just wanted to say how much I enjoyed this season of Loser. You were flawless, as always... and the contestants absolutely blew my mind! I am not all that into reality TV, but it is so wonderful to watch a show that actually helps change people's lives. Looking forward to Season 6 in the fall!

I am also confident enough in my manhood to admit that I have just recently come back to "Days". It's been since the college years when Susan's teeth were flying into Vivian's martini glass... GREATNESS! Now it seems like the show and characters are getting back to that "wheels off" mentality that I love so much. You and EJ have been making me laugh lately, Nicole is a freak, I out-loud root against Nick (don't know why), Abe's pornstache is better than ever, and Ava is enough to give nightmares to any man. Now we get a cameo by Jillian, and she's talking smack to Nicole?!!! YES!!! Keep it up.. the crazier, the better!

BTW.. other Ali is fantastic! The thing that amazed me the most in the last couple of episodes. without sounding cheesy, was her countenance. It was not only the change in appearance (smokin hot), but in her personality. You could see redemption on her face, and to me that's the best part about it. There is nothing more beautiful than a happy and confident woman, and she is definitely that! I'm proud for Roger, Mark, Kelly, Dan, Jackie, Brittney, Jay, they've all been given a new start in life.

I know you've heard all this a bazillion times, but you can never have too much affirmation. You truly are great at what you do, and I wish nothing but the best for you and your family as you head into the summer. Don't work too hard!

From your newest blog pal,

P.S. Have you ever had the homemade peanut butter at Trader Vics? Don't know if it makes the Biggest Loser Nutritional Plan, but it's a staple of my diet when I come to LA. And I do walk it off, promise!

Ali, great job on the BL finale and Days these past couple of weeks! Also (the other) Ali, congrats to her too for becoming the first ever female Biggest Loser! You both did such a wonderful job. You also are my role model and BL is such an inspiration to stay fit and active! I hope you have a great summer with your friends and family.

(We have so much in common, it's crazy!)

It was great to see Ali win, she worked so hard.
Every time they showed the BL Campus and that beautiful swimming pool with no one in it, I thought, " I wonder how a physically challenged person would do using that beautiful pool for exercise and the eating plan, do weight wise against the rest."
My daughter and I have thought time and again about applying to be contestants, but I am one of those physically challenged people and I could not do the demanding workouts that the others do. Nor could I do the challenges that they do to win things, but who cares about that kind of thing, just to be able to lose the weight and to gain some physical strength would be rewarding enough.
Think about it, there are lots of people out there like me that maybe thinking the same thing, and to see a physically challenged person going up against the rest would be quite interesting!!

Alison,
It was great to finally see a female biggest loser. I look forward to next season.
