Vending Machine, Yes!!

Bernie’s reaction to the temptation was hysterical. He told me after that he felt so vindicated getting all that money out of the vending machine after putting money into a machine like that for so many years. Lol. It was pretty shocking to me that everyone participated, but with so much time before the weigh-in, I guess they all felt it was worth the calories. No one seemed to much enjoy the snacks they got. Watching Kelly forcing herself to eat those candies, was like that movie when the little boy gets caught smoking, and his dad makes him smoke until he gets sick to teach him a lesson. She hated every minute of it.

That zip-line challenge was SO COOL. The first thing I said when I saw it was “I want a turn!!” lol – that is so my thing. The whole time we were up there shooting it was so windy. Seriously, we were being sand-blasted up there. But it was so worth it for the coolest challenge ever. Jay and Kelly both had to face major fears to accomplish the task. And they succeeded. Everyone was so proud of them for doing such a great job.

And afterwards, I leapt at my chance to take a turn on the zip-line. Maggie didn’t get to participate because of the uneven teams, so she and I both hiked up to the far side of the set-up, and got to just fly down-hill across the whole 500 foot canyon. We had so much fun!!! Maggie and I were screaming and laughing the whole way. Seriously, the coolest thing ever. Even though we were all tired and dirty afterwards, it was such a fun day.

Saying goodbye to Bernie was so difficult for everyone, the black team and the crew. We all loved having him around on campus, making everyone laugh and being such a great competitor. He’s such a great guy, and I was so sorry to say goodbye to him. But, wow, he left campus in about the most honorable, classy way you could go. He sacrificed himself for his teammate, and didn’t regret it for a second. The whole time it was just concerned for his teammates, showing that he is the strength and the support-system for that whole team, not just through his words but his actions too. I couldn’t help but notice how they were all holding hands during the voting, and that he had nothing but encouraging things to say to his teammates as he left. Bernie is truly a great guy.

Bernie was so funny... I hate that he is gone... but can't wait to see them all at the finale... You are great... Love you on days and on BL!! keep up the great work...

It truly has been interesting to see many people sacrifice themselves in the "vote-off" part of the show. I think that this type of strategy is beneficial for the entire team. I know that Bernie kind of sacrificed himself...but not really since he couldn't give himself immunity. Both Bernie and Mark were kind of nearing the end of their great weight loss days. I loved Bernie...he was truly my favorite player. I think he and Brittney always played their hardest/honestly and even though they may have formed the clique that voted off Paul...I think they had a good reason. I thought the vending machine challenge was great...shows America that you can rack up a lot of calories from something people don't think about day to day. I can't wait to see next week's episode!

I only watched a few episodes of TBL when it first came on, and stopped after that. But since you've been the host, I watch it every week. Great job! There is no way I would have ever done the zip line. I have to take a xanax just to get ON an airplane. If I'd had to do that I would have just been a flopping, drooling body on that line. LOL

It gets harder and harder every week to see the contestents leave TBL campus. Bernie was amazing and fun to watch, so sad to see him go. I can't wait until the season finale.

That Zip Line thing looked fun, I wish I could try it.

Ali, you're doing such a great job. I love you on TBL and Days. I love reading your blogs, you're so down to earth. Please come to Toronto Canada, I would love to meet you someday.
Farah

I love your show but unfortunately in our area it has been pre-empted several times by basketball. It is great that you have the clips on your site so I can at least see those but is there any way to be able to watch your entire show on the Internet? I know other networks provide that option. I too am very sad that Bernie left the show. I should be on your show but don't know if I would have the guts to do it. Getting up on the scale every week has to be terribly difficult. Keep up the good work.

Ali - I am a big fan of the Biggest Loser AND Days of Our Lives. Do you have anything to say about Days? All of your posts are about BL which is nice and all, but there is that other show you are on...or did you forget about that one that is trying to be renewed and from what we heard is on its last leg and needs some help renewing and you have a BL audience that you could convince to start watching because it is such an awesome show.
It would be nice to hear about your other job.
By the way, I love you on BL and I am having Mark withdrawls. Miss him.

I get frustrated by the challenges. It seems that they are all geared to favor the stronger all men team. It really is disappointing to see such an uneven playing field when a challenge is entirely based on physical strength.

Ali- I am your biggest loser fan from Apache Junction, Arizona. I just went to the Superstition Springs open call and when they asked what was one the motivating factors about going on the show, I said I wanted to meet my hero Ali! You're a Mom, wife, excellent career.. I completely admire what you've done with your life. I'm a stay at home mom of three little girls who are my life. Your character in Days completely entertains me and being a host for Biggest Loser is awesome too! Love the fun, outgoing personality of running down the zip line. I would completely love to join ya! Maybe someday I could be the Biggest Loser! Thanks for being an inspiration!

This has got to be the best Biggest Loser season yet. I really like that when elimination time comes there is more talking to each other about who is to go then backstabbing as we have seen in the past. As more people go home the remaining contestants show more honor, dedication and support. It is really inspiring. Everytime we see a current picture I just cry at how great they look. It's funny to feel so much pride for someone you have never met, but you cant help it when you watch these people every week fight so hard for that ultimate goal. I am so excited to see everyone back this next show. I cried so much when Mark left. I cant wait to see how he does. Ali-I think your amazing. I have watched you forever on Days and just love seeing you on Biggest Loser. Thanks for being such a great person.

I haven't watched Biggest Loser since the 1st season... but when you started being the host I had to see it!
This is definitely and encouraging season. It's great to see how close the teams have gotten. I wonder how the next episode will be now that everyone is on their own.
Keep up the great work! Your are such an inspiration and I only hope that I can accomplish as much as you have

Ali - thank you so much for the blog. What a wonderful person you are to make time to do this for your fans. I have been a huge fan of Sami's for a very long time and I am now a huge fan of you as BL host. You are doing such a fantastic job! Some friends of mine had the pleasure of meeting you on the weekend in Charlotte and they confirmed that you are as wonderful (even more so) in person as you seem on BL and through your blogs and interviews. I am proud to be a fan of yours no matter what direction DOOL takes with its storylines. I'm quite pleased with the current direction and I look forward to the big scene where Sami truly forgives EJ and the EJami story can move forward and not look back. :)

Back to BL - I just wanted to say that BL has been an inspiration to me personally - it was watching BL a few years ago that got me to start on a journey to getting healthy. I have had my ups and downs but watching the contestants every week reminds me of what I can accomplish if I set my mind to it. I hope they all know how special they are and how much they inspire others struggling with the same issues. I really enjoyed the episode where contestant Ali talked to Jillian about how she was overweight because that allowed her to blame all of her problems on her weight. That hit home with me and has helped me a great deal in moving forward with my own efforts.

As for Mark, my opinion of him did change in the later episodes that aired. I didn't really think too much about him before the challenge where he made what seemed like a snarky comment to you, Ali. When he said "relax Alison, it's not a soap opera", I felt a bit of anger towards him for being rude to my favourite DOOL actress. LOL I'm really glad you shared more about Mark because in later episodes, the other side of him really did start coming through and I realized that my negative impression of him might have been unfair. I think I will miss seeing him on the show and I hope he's continuing to do well at home. :)

Wow! I just saw Jillian be a total bitch to you! Have her ass kicked off!

Wow! I just saw Jillian be a total bitch to you! Have her ass kicked off!

I have been a fan of TBL for several years and have been following this season each week. I must say, I really enjoyed the idea of the couples competing together! But, I must also say that I am SERIOUSLY UPSET ABOUT THE INAPPROPRIATE AND RIDICULOUS USE OF FOUL LANGUAGE throughout the past several weeks. Many of the competitors, and Jillian, have been incessantly speaking extremely inappropriate words -- I do not believe this should be condoned or aired on prime time television, even with the censors.
Alli, thank you for being a good host, maintaining a positive attitude and keeping everything upbeat. I, however, will no longer watch TBL. I am very disappointed.

I am officially OFF the Jillian love train! I can't believe how disrespectful she was to you. Those outbursts from her were completely uncalled for. From the editing we got you were clearly upset, but appeared to have handled it with tons of grace, dignity, and maturity. Brava to you! I would have been reduced to tears. Like the poster above, I am extremely disappointed and am considering not watching anymore. I was already thinking of not watching the finale before Jillian's performance. This show used to inspire me. All it does now is depress me (last week) and infuriate/upset me (this week).

It's unfortunate that the language on the show had to sink to the level it did on the show that aired on March 11. I love the show and don't want to have to stop watching because "someone" thinks adding expletives and mean-natured drama is going to improve the ratings. I know there are enough viewers who love the show's ability to inspire without the bleeps.

Wow- someone needs to remind Jillian that just because she gets to wear sweats to work doesn't mean she doesn't have to act and speak professionally when she's on national television. Way to go Ali for retaining your composure. Seriously NBC, what has happened to you? Are you trying to be the next MTV because quite honestly one is plenty!

Way to go girl! You acted like a TRUE lady when it came to Jillian this evening!Jillian showed her TRUE colors and you handled yourself with diginity!Keep it up and you'll continue to go far! Blessings!

Ali, all I have to say is that you are an amazing host!

Hey Ali:

I just saw the March 11th show. Wow- that "weigh-in" got a little heated! Kudos to you for remaining cool!

"Hosting" The Biggest Loser- obviously, is not an easy task- I say, a job well done!

Keep up the great work!

Jilian has just lost my respect totally how dare She talk to you like that Ali and I really did like her. Okay what is going on with the campus okay if they talk about there dum tat's one more time Im leaving this show. Why cant they all just keep working out like season four did.

Jillian clearly was just sticking up for her team and for Brittany who you can tell she truly cares for. She has been listening to them be upset and watching them fall apart and she probably just felt defensive. I highly doubt she was trying to be tough with Ali but just felt like she needed to have Brittany's back. I would probably bet all of you have snapped at some point, unless of course you are perfect. Those who haven't, can you walk on water as well?

Hi Ali
I must say, I was shocked to see the heated weigh-in. Jillian suprised me by swearing like that. Ok, I always did think of her as the "rough & tough" kind of girl, but that caught me a bit off guard. I guess I can see the reasoning behind it because it had been a rough week, however you did not know that. In fact, you even told her that you did not know it had been a rough week, but she kept on swearing. I'm not saying I think Jillian is a bad person, she lost her cool. But neither am I saying it was right for her to do that. Anyhow, good job keeping your cool. You really do an excellent job.

I completely disagree with these comments posted on this blog. Jillian is a passionate person and was rightfully upset when a member of her team was put on the spot - inappropriately. I would like to see what you would do Ali faced in the same situation as that contestent. When are you Ali, and the biggest loser show, going to address the issue that men have an advantage over women due to their muscle mass and metabolism? It gets very tiring watching the women get beat up on a weekly basis by the men.

C’mon people—it’s not bible camp. It is intense physical training and nutritional education. The contestants all need motivation (or else they could do it themselves) and Jillian is hardcore. I watch the show religiously and Bob has been “bleeped” several times too. No one is perfect. Jillian has proven results. I saw Ali’s face and her response was very graceful (after editing, I am sure). I will continue to watch the show and if you “tune out” due do some swearing I say loosen up!!

WOW is all I can say. It was TOTALLY disrespectful for Jillian to have talked to you that way on the 3/11 episode. I am sure that most of what is said during the weigh in is scripted so I would imagine you had NO IDEA that it would cause such a stir! I could tell you were visably upset but you handled it with such grace and dignity that I was really proud of you! Hell....Sami would have kicked some Jillian butt!!! :)
The best comment and fact was that after all that blow up A WOMAN did end up being the biggest loser of the week!
Keep up the great work both on BL and Days!

I was really sad to see Bernie go. He was by far my favorite. This week was crushing for me to see Britney fall bellow the yellow line after Bernie made it clear he wanted her to stay. I really hope she doesn't leave next week. I think Jillian could have been a little calmer, and I don't think she was direecting animosity at you, but more towards the facts of the game. it is almeost impossible for a women to win this show, because our bodies DO work differently then men, and Bob knew that when he picked his team. He doesn't want a competition he just wants to win, and I guess that's fine, but it's not entertaining to watch a sweep. Even if it is based on percentage, woman have a hire body fat content by nature, so naturally losing it is going to be more difficult.
The show needs to reflect it's contestants and so far it hasn't and I will admit it's gotten old. I am not afraid to say that next year if NBC doesn't change things I will probably not be watching the show.

Here's what Jillian had to say: "So I'll admit, my emotions got the better of me when I tried to defend Brittany at the weigh-in. Despite that, Ali lost an awesome 7 pounds, beating the big boys from the Blue Team and becoming the Biggest Loser of the week. But in a sad turn of events, both Maggie and Brittany fell below the yellow line".

I was appalled at Jillian's lashing out at you at the weigh in on last night's show. It crossed the line on how one would expect the host of a show to be treated - it pulled you (the host) into the dramatics and implied you were not neutral, which as a host, is expected. Most of all, I object to how staged her comments were - like a script from Days - but she is not as talented as you so came across as totally fake.

Jillian is just plain mean to you Ali that was so un called for she is an adult they all are they should act like one!!!

GO JILLIAN !!! WE LOVE YOU!!! That airhead Ali needs to be straighen out. Besides that she needs some classes in physics since she believes she can create energy (no energy can be created or destroyed just ask Einstein )
GO JILLIAN !!!

I love you so much. I have been watching days since i was 5 and i am 22 now. we grew up together. I was a big jillian fan too and have been since the show started. way to have class in the horse face of that foul-mouthed Jillian. she seems to be a great trainer, but her lack of patience and professionalism at that weigh-in was ridiculous. if that wasn't staged, she was way out of line.

Jillian: It would be great to get the girls to both wear pink! I think Kelly's attitude would brighten up, BLACK is such a negative color... the girls could wear pink and be champions for breast cancer as well as having a brighter attitude! Jillian you remind me sooo much of my trainer here in Vegas, Zoe, and BOB reminds me of my other trainer Frank, both are at Las Vegas Athletic Club. Rock on with the girls and consider suggesting the color change!!

Ali,
Don't know if you have time to read this but I wanted you to know what a fabulous job you are doing as the host of this show! You always make it about the players and not about you. Great job missy and a great deal of respect sent to you !

Huge kudos to you Ali

From a 65 yo female who is in great shape and lived the healthy lifestyle for many many years. :)

I have to say, this show used to be inspiring to me, but now it is so clear that things are set up to be just about "good TV." Yes, people lose weight, but clearly that is not the goal. Yes, everyone agrees to "play the game" in order to win money. Yes, I know it is the time of Reality TV that encourages people to lower themselves and stick it to others, all for cash, but I really thought this show was better than that. But this season, well, it seems clear that it has been designed to punish Jillian and the women of this season for Jillian's black team winning being the last batch standing last season. I find this whole process degrading and demeaning. Until women and men have the same hormonal concerns, they can never compete effectively against each other and the history of this show demonstrates that. Plus, even though someone goes out of their way to pick a diverse population initially, it is clear that anyone of color is never going to win the Biggest Loser. Again, evidence the history. And then to top off punishing Jillian, you show this argument as if Jillian is going after Ali. More attempts to make good TV and punish Jillian. Now, tonight, in an almost impossible feat, the women lose more than the big men. I'm sure that women make up most of your audience. I'm also sure that your producers told Bob to work the men out in such a way that the women would be winners, since the way the men were acting were driving female viewers away. Well, it didn't work for me. I'm done. And I'm sad. I really wanted to believe that at least one of these reality shows was worth while, especially about a critical health issue. I should have known it was all about greed.

ali i really admire you and u get me going, jillian has her work cut out for u too left woman, if u can email back with a picture of your makeover ali i love the cut and your enthusiasm to shed that wt. i have a personal trainer since jan and have lost 20lbs eating healthier,my email is debbiespunky@aol.com
