The Biggest Loser - Week 7

This week I had to do a photo shoot with the trainers. Ben came along with me to hang out while we took the pictures. He ran around on the grass and kicked a ball that I brought with us.

After we took pictures, Ben and I sat in the kitchen with the contestants and hung out for a bit. As Kim said, it was a bit of “kid therapy”. Ben did his part to entertain his audience! He smiled, laughed, gave out high-fives and generally had a good time. Julie and Nicole asked him questions about his morning – there just happened to be a dog show taking place nearby and Ben told them all about the dogs ‘jumping high’ and going “up, up, up! And down, down, down!”

While Ben had a good time running around the kitchen, playing with Neil and Hollie, Nicole, Julie and Amy and I talked about Days. They were all asking questions about ‘Colleen’, the second character I’ve been playing on Days this summer. Isabeau was funny – she revealed that she used to watch Days when she was a teen and that she HATED Sami. Lol. When she found out I was hosting the show, her mom teased her about what she would say to me!! Luckily, for both of us (!!), I am not at all like my character.

Ben also had a very cute reunion with his ol’ friend, Bob. Or “Ob” as Ben says. They definitely have a connection and – Jillian and Kim both witnessed Ben squirming out of my arms, and taking off at a run towards Bob to give him a hug. Finally, it was time to go...Ben’s big on passing out air-kisses and hugs, saying goodbye to everyone we passed. Ben made a lot of friends at mommy’s work!

Alison:

Ben looks like a great kid and I am glad both you and Ben are enjoying the moments on the set of the show; however, I have to say I have never been more disappointed and I had to write in the hopes that you will pass this message along to the appropriat parties.

I might have been asking too much, but for me the biggest loser show until last evening would at times reveal glimpses of the strength of the human spirit. It was about people believing in themselves (for what seems like the first time or served as a reminder) and taking action to improve. It was a refreshing testament to the human potential if we just decide and act.

Neil's misguided action last night minimized the efforts of all involved and in my eyes it minimizes the effort of all that would follow. It put the game first and lost sight of show's true value (even if producers did not see it) which was a message of hope and that people can accomplish what they previously thought impossible if they put their minds to it and do something about it.

Tonight's episode not only lost the sight of the Biggest Loser's true value, but it lost the 3 viewers of this household.

Truly disappointed.

omg! Ben is so cute!

You are awesome on BL and Days. I am probably your youngest fan!

Ben is a totally cutie. I think it's sweet that he and Bob really get along really well. I love Days, you and James are terrific together. Congratulations on the success of Biggest Looser. I'm a big fan!

Hey Ali,
My husband and I love you on Days ... and even though my dad doesn't watch Days he knows who you are, and you are his favorite (even recognized you on fear factor) anyways ... just wanted to say hi and that I love your clothes ... you always look great ... especially love the top you have on on the pictures above ... can you tell us where you shop or who some of your favorites are?

I think Biggest Loser has taken a turn this year. It seems all about the weight and not about the transformation and how hard they are working for it. I mean when over half the hour and a half show is about weighing them and eliminating someone...and the other half an hour includes a challenge...you don't get much trainer and team time...which I think is the part that inspires America to get off the couch and do something. I agree that Neil did the wrong thing, and was rewarded for doing the wrong thing...but that just seems to follow the pattern of the show this year...it is about the game...not the weight. I also thought your blog would be more about the show...and not about your "modeling/chatting" with the contestants. No offense, but I don't really care if you modeled with the trainers...what about the challenge? your take on Neil? Amy switching teams and losing no weight? the trios not all working out with one trainer? This episode was full of tons of stuff to talk about and you talk about your kid and modeling? Talk about the show...and this show...not Days of Our Lives.

Hi Alison,

This is your blog not an interview and I LOVE hearing about your adventures on the set. I think you are doing great job and Ben is such a cutie.

After the comment above, I don't want to post my DOOL comment!! Mine was meant to be funny, so read it with a smile. ;)

What did you give birth to the other day?? It certainly wasn't a baby! For a Days question -- Do you ever get to have input for the writers? I was curious b/c all of us who have had babies (including you and your adorable little one, who I do like to hear about) KNOW that you don't just drop the kids after the first contraction! Plus, isn't the hospital just a block away? hee hee

Seriously curious about how all of those decisions are made. Good luck with BL and keep up all of your good work!

ssk

Ben is such a cutie! And Ali, you are beautiful as always! My husband and I love you on Days & TBL. Great job on both of them. Keep up the great work!

(((Big Hugs))) to ya!

I think that this show is great I watch it whenever I can. I have recently gained quite a bit of weight and I have no idea what to do to lose it, it is driving me crazy. Do you have any helpful hints on how to get rid of it? I am getting desperate for help it makes me feel so depressed. If you have any helpful hints please let me know!

Thank you!

Hi,

I am a LONG time viewer of Days, and I was very glad to see you were hosting the show. I go through ups and downs of liking Sami on Days, but she is good at being a bad girl. Have you ever personally had struggles with weight? I know I have yo-yoed a lot in my life. Last winter, I finally got tired of yo-yoing. I think I went from 190 down to 145, I don't know because at my biggest, I didn't want to get on the scale and actually find out what I weighed. A big dream of mine is to actually compete in bodybuilding, but I have gained 10 back, and am now back up to 155, still a size 8, but wanting to get down to 130ish. I am no stranger to excercise, fitness, and the gym, but still find the show very inspiring, motivating, and love to watch people change their lives for the better! I also think the people on the show are very lucky to meet one of their role models from their favorite daytime dramas!

I would love to know where you got that gorgeous pink and white dress you wore on the show that aired 10/27/09.

I also want to know about the pink and white dress...who designed...where to buy??
