Bob goes to Detroit
Let’s talk about that challenge. 2 hours and 19 minutes??? Pretty much everyone acknowledged that Tara was going to be tough to beat at that challenge. She proved her strength and competitive spirit last week, charging past Blaine for victory. But I think we were all unanimously impressed by Kristin challenging her for so long. She definitely made Tara work for that immunity. What a huge success for Kristin – to go from not being picked by any of the teams on the first day, to completely proving how capable she was by lasting until the end in the week 3 challenge. She outlasted Dane, and of course everyone teasingly made sure Blaine and Dane knew they’d been beaten by BOTH girls.
Who knew what drama Bob would find himself in the middle of in Detroit? I heard some of the fall out from what happened there afterwards, but it still didn’t prepare me for actually seeing them square off like that. In the gym, In the middle of a work out. Yowsers. You all were probably doing the exact same thing I was doing, asking myself why Carla chose to go home and leave Joelle on the ranch. I am still, to this day, totally unclear about how that decision was made.
The whole silver team situation has made me love Bob more than ever. I mean, last week, when he finally lost his cool – I mean, when the Zen master loses his cool, you know it’s serious, right?! – and then dealing with Carla and Joelle duking it out in Detroit, not to mention you know he flew both ways with Joelle, and still had to give everything he had to the rest of his players when he got home. And through it all, he was able to have a sense of humor and perspective about his own reaction, as well as what he was dealing with. Yup, I love Bob.
Everyone was heartbroken to see Damian lose only 4 pounds. I love how he talks about Nicole, the smile it brings to his face, and it was sad knowing we wouldn’t have Nicole’s bright personality back on campus in 2 weeks. She is a truly beautiful person, and so sincere in her love for Damian and her dedication to getting healthy together. Don't they look amazing?!
p.s. A couple people posted asking about where Dan (orange team) was during the temptation at the beginning of the episode. Dr. H does regular check ups on all the contestants, and he had a few questions he needed to follow up with Dan. So Dan chose to excuse himself from the temptation so he could get some tests done. It all turned out fine, and he came back after a few hours, but with so much else to cover with the busy episode, there just wasn't room to squeeze in the whole explanation of Dan's absence.
The big question, though, Ali...where was Team Orange at the food challenge? Did something happen that prevented Dan from participating?

I also had the same thing going through my mind as well...where was team orange?? Why didn't they show what happened with Daniel? I am a little upset about the other teams decision to send home Damian, but I guess...sometimes what you think is a given, turns out to bite you in the butt.
I can't stand Joelle, but for Carla's sake I guess I'm happy that she's still there. Carla has been working hard and deserves the opportunity to come back, and who knows, maybe this will finally push Joelle into working hard.
Nicole & Damien looked awesome! The previews for next week seemed to give away too much, but I'm hoping they're like Days previews (deliberately misleading) ;)

I cannot believe Jillian's team threw the vote by turning around and voting Damien off!!!! What the heck was that all about? It's clear they voted the biggest threat off (Damien) because Joelle is such a weakling, but come on, didn't they go to Bob's group right before voting and ask them how they wanted them to vote?????? JOELLE NEEDS TO GO!!!!!
I Love you guys! Seeing Bob blow was incredible I didn't think it could happen. Hope he's ok and not suffering the normal guilt we all feel when we are finally pushed to that point. Congrats on the birth of your daughter, are you getting pointers from Bob or Jillian on getting back in shape? Ali, honestly I don't know how you do all that you do, you are a true inspiration. Keep smiling
I wouldn't be so hard on Carla, she really thinks she is doing the best she can do. She just doesn't have the confidence to know that she can work harder and make herself believe it.
Back to the original question.. what happened to team orange in the temptation?

That's my question. What happened to the orange team in the food challenge? Were the producers afraid to allow the orange team (especially David) to face the challenge because they knew they wouldn't be able to restrain themselves? I feel bad for the orange team because they really need to be at the ranch in order to change their eating habits. Otherwise, they will never keep that weight off.

Is NBC or someone going to explain why orange was missing. If this a fair competition (or want if they want it to appear that way) then I think an explanation is due.

Did anyone else who watched the trailer for next week get the impression that either Dan or Mike go home? Sure looked like it to me but i can't imagine NBC giving away the bottom two for next week. Were they just teasing us or did i get the wrong impression.
I read on another blog they the preview was not about Dan or Mike going home, but instead it had to do with the challenge for next week. They also said the black team is going home next week...but I am not certain.
Ali updated her blog w/ that last paragraph about the Orange team, that wasn't in her original blog post. So please don't YELL at the people to read the whole post because it originally wasn't there!
And as far as how much I pay attention, I didn't even realize the Orange team wasn't in the competition until I read it here!
oh & Ali you stated there wasn't enough time to get that in the episode...well...could the STOP repeating previous scenes?? The show could be shorter or more could be added if they didn't replay the previous scene after a commercial break. My ONLY pet peeve w/ the show!! VERY annoying!

Joelle definitely needs to go. If I were Bob, I think I may have just walked out of the gym in Detroit. I wonder if Jillian's team realizes that they completely burned any bridges with Bob's team?
this season of biggest loser seems so scripted. this was the only reality show that seemed "real" it seems like you guys are trying to make bob mean and jillian nice. i have watched every season and it 's like everyone is acting. i don't like the fact that you all are spending so much time on joelle. just stay true to the viewers.
question: do the -producers have a say or opinion on who the constestants chose? in other reality shows, the producers put it as a legal caveat at the end of the show's credits and I didn't see it here....but that has to be the only explanation why the silver team stayed AND THE BROWN TEM FROM SEASON 6 STAYED TILL the end..
Joelle seriously needs to go. I understand this is a game, however it is also people's lives. Since she's acting like this, she obviously does not care enough about Carla to really want to give it 110% like Bob asks. They are there to work and get that weight off. I don't know how Bob has put up with her, and both of them in Detroit for that matter. I would have walked out and said I'm done with you. I give Bob a lot of patience to deal with Joelle. I'm crossing my fingers that Joelle gets kicked off next week. I thought Vicki was bad last season...Joelle is 10 times worse.
Hi Ali, congrats again for your beautiful Baby Girl Megan Hope, I am so happy for you!!! Now you have a boy and a girl, just like me!!! My daughter is 12 years old and she loves seeing you on the Biggest Loser and and Days, and my son is 15, time flies...enjoy it while you can, it's so much fun when they are little...!!
We don't miss any shows at all, my daughter loves the new John on Days, we think he is very funny, so sad to know in a few days it's all over....Still hoping NBC can do something about that, how do you feel about Deirdra and Drake being fired???????
About Biggest Loser, we love the transformations of everyone, I know how hard it is to loose weight... especially after the kids... thats why I am on Weight Watchers, and I am doing fine, still got to loose a bit more until I reach my goal weight, but I really love to workout as well at the gym, too bad that I can't borrow Bob or Jillian for a while...maybe they would yell at me too l.0.l.

I have to admit...I'm VERY curious to know what the orange team DID in the temptation. I suspect Daniel didn't eat anything...but did David?
...or perhaps Orange team didn't participate at all? I guess after re-reading Ali's post it may be that they just didn't do it.

I'd like to ask a question.
I totally respect the contestants and think this is a great show.
However i would like to ask why the women specifically think they need to do themselves up for there workouts and weigh ins. For me it's hard to take them seriously when i see them spending time to make there makup look good and wear huge earrings and necklaces. For me it just doesn't make me feel like there taking it seriously. Now the green team. She seems serious and doesn't care it's refreshing to see her workout because i get the sense she's there to work and is no nonsense. They just look somewhat riduclus at the weigh in with fancy hair and makeup standing there on the scale.
When I see the women go to the weigh in or the elimination room with makeup on and their hair done, it says to me that they are learning to love and respect themselves enough to want to present their best selves. I personally wouldn't get all dolled up for working out, because the way I sweat, I'd just create my own personal mudslide. But it speaks volumes about their burgeoning self-esteem when they care for themselves.
I never liked it when contestants voted off people for the sake of competition rather than based on who needs to be there the most or who wants to be there, especially this early in the game. Joelle should have gone home, Damien deserved to stay. And so much focus on Joelle's failure and on everyone lecturing her, I end up putting The Biggest Loser on mute and walking away from the TV for a while because I find it so annoying. Hopefully Biggest Loser will stray from this. As annoying as I find it, I will keep watching until Dan is voted off, simply because I want to see his programs and root for his success.
I'm gonna have to call producer shenanigans on Orange being exempt from the challenge. Besides the fact I don't buy the "not enough time" excuse - i could cut 15 minutes of repetitive info from every episode of this show, easily - how do you rationalize putting the other teams at an immediate advantage or disadvatage because they did have to participate in the temptation. I think they knew Dave would eat everything in sight, but they needed Joelle and Carla to be briefly reunited to feed Joelle's Problem Child Arc.
SO, okay, I was disappointed that Damien left. However, there is something good to say about Joelle. I have noticed that she seems to be genuinely happy at the successes of others. At the weigh-ins, she claps and seems to be genuinely glad when someone has a big weight loss, even when she has already weighed in. Not everyone has that reaction. I would also like to make one more comment. Regarding the results of the food challenge, Mandy did not "deserve" to go home anymore than anyone else. It was very annoying to me that the other contestants bought into that attitude.

Out with the Silver Team. I think they should of sent Joelle packing. Carla probably would of killed her when she got home. They sure are not much of a team. They call themselves best friends, they don't know what that means.
Well its official, i just saw the commercial for next weeks show and it says "one of these two will be sent home", referring to Dan and Mike the two teens. That really sucks.Maybe i won't even watch it now.

I have been watching Day's since the beginning, and if they don't get new writers you better say solong to your role as Sammy!! How in God's name could they get rid of Marlena and John, that's like getting rid of Tom and Alice!!!!

Bottom line...Joelle needs to go home, she is OBVIOUSLY not committed to the process~but on the other hand it kinds seems like she may have some kind of social/anxiety disorder, and also: yes I like Carla too, and she did lose weight..but she also has not TRULY been at the ranch going through the same things. When you are as big as she is you always lose alot fast in the beginning (like Dan on those first weigh ins)... so anything she would or would not do had she stayed and Joelle went home is just speculation. As ANNOYING as Joelle is Carla was kinda beating a dead horse in Detroit. They made the decision, she went along with it-what's done is done. I think she had she handled Joelle differently-that whole situation would have been different.

2nd, Joelle is a bit "off"...her head is not right, never mind her esteem/confidence issues...still, really hate the idea that she is still there. Don't think she should have even made the show. There are WAY more deserving, competitive, driven fat chicks out there - like me!
