AMERICA VOTES!!!

So there you have it. The final episode on Campus. It’s always sad to say goodbye, but especially this group – they’ve been through so much, fought so hard, and accomplished so many amazing things. They are true champions. All of them. And it was an honor to share this experience with them.

It's Rocco so great? I love him. And I love how he was able to re-create those yummy dishes to make them lower calories. it was fun to see them all in the kitchen learning new techniques to share with their families.
That final challenge was pretty incredible. We couldn’t have asked for a better day – the weather was perfect at the beach, and I’ll tell you what… they gave me a run for my money getting up that mountain. Because while they were running down the beach, I had to go around the back way to get to that same path they ran up to meet them at the top of the mountain. And we couldn’t see how the race was going from our perspective. So the A.D. I was walking with was communicating with the producers to know how much time I had to get up to the finish line. Well, about half way up, all of a sudden he says “here he comes. Mark’s around the corner!” So John, the A.D. and I had to seriously RUN up the rest of the way to beat him.
It was so cute the way Roger included me in that final “pride on 3”. I guess in some ways, that sums up the entire season – I try to stay impartial, I care about everyone, and I want to see them all succeed, and I can’t get involved in the game play or decisions the contestants make. And ultimately, I admire how Ali, Kelly, Mark and Roger have played this game – each in their own way, they have proven that anything is possible, and that they all are winners. Is that incredibly hokey and cheese-ball or what? I just typed that and already I’m cringing. But come on, who wasn't moved by those great videos re-capping the whole season? It was so crazy to see Roger on the first day talking about wanting to be a sexy husband for his wife. And Ali, with Bette-Sue, day one, and how hard she's worked. Seeing how BL has changed Kelly & Mark, Ali & Roger - each of them gaining a new strength both physically and mentally - well, it's just incredible. Sorry, but I guess I can’t help but get all mushy about this show.
And I can’t help but be SO incredibly psyched to see everyone next week at the finale. From what I hear, they all look pretty spectacular, and we have some pretty major prizes to give out! The producers promised to go easy on the confetti this time. Ha.

Now, that you’re done reading this blog, please proceed directly to the BL home page and VOTE!!!

I can hardly wait until next week! I am so excited to see what incredible things the contestants have been doing. I have already cast my vote, but I'm not telling!!! It was very hard to decide who should leave- I can't imagine having to do that every week. They have all been so inspiring and it has been completely amazing to watch the transformations- Thank you to all the contestants for letting us into a very private part of their lives, and helping so many people by doing so. I can't wait to watch next season!

What a season!! Can't for the finale next week...hopefully I won't be working the night shift.

You've done an awesome job this season Ali, keep up the great work...Love you on Days!!!!

ali -
BL and days are my two all time favorite shows and i'm so psyched i get to watch you on both. i have been a devoted "sami" fan for years. I have been an avid BL fan since the beginning. i love seeing you be yourself (like back when you did "Fear Factor") - it really shows how great an actress you are that you can play sami as well as you do. please keep up the good work - i can't wait to see the finale next week - i can't decide who to vote for. i guess it doesn't matter since i wanna see kelly or ali win. i cried when kelly weighed in - she has waited all season for a number like that and it came at the best possible time. she totally deserved it.

I have to say that seeing this show has really changed the way i look at my self in the mirror...
I use to be 350 lbs, but now i am down 219...I am trying to shed another 20lbs, but now i am just at a stand still...
I would love to have some help from your team of the the best show on evening t.v...
Thanks soo much.
Marilena.

I am so excited for all the girls...including Jillian. I was so shocked when Roger pulled a 15...I thought he was in the finale for sure. Guess it goes to show that weight is an unpredictable thing. I was happy for all of them though. With the exception of the last chance workout...they did ALL of that weight loss without trainers. I guess it goes to show you that you can lose the weight without the trainer with a lot of hard work. I've already cast my vote as well, but am hoping to see the first female Biggest Loser. :)

Ali, you are so great on the show. You're so professional, and so good! I was impressed by how you held your own the week Jillian got a little put out with your question. I'm not sure I could have kept my cool. I hope you guys have no hard feelings. It seems this show does create a lot of emotion with everyone. I love it! Can't wait to see who wins, but it doesn't even matter. They are all deserving!

HAHAHA - have I mentioned how much i LOVE you girl!

The confetti comment just had me rolling on the floor!:)

You did such an AMAZING job this season (as last of course), but I commend you on doing these jobs, and being the most important, wife and Mom. :)
So excited for next week, as this week I was crying all over the place.

I don't know about anyone else but I am sick and tired of Mark's blubbering and whining. Is he the biggest baby you've ever seen? If it's so awful being there then why did he come back and why didn't he let Jay stay? All the women together didnt cry as much as this guy. Actually all of the guys crying got old a long time ago.

I finally got a chance to see what all the hype was about..... "Biggest Loser, Couples" I watched from week one and haven't missed an episode although it is in the same time slot as my other favorite show "American Idol" As the weeks went on, I became more and more fascinated with "BLC" I have gained weight and have been unable to take it off with all the walking and dieting i've been doing. This show has inspired me to want to be the person I was a decade ago. Thanks to NBC and The Biggest Loser for giving us all the inspiration we will need to succeed!!

I understand why Mark crys, he is shedding his old self and experienceing his new self- he will stop crying soon-Kudos for Mark and all the Contestants. GREAT JOB SEASON 5 BIGGEST LOSER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm ten years old. And I love the show! I watch it almost every night it comes on. Good luck to you girls on the show. Boys same to you I'll be praying for ya;ll!

I love the show and you are a great additional to it.

I was wondering if you could tell me where you got the necklace that you have been wearing on the show. You have worn it many times and most recently on the last episode. It is the silver necklace with the silver beads. It appears that it is one necklace with the beads and then a smaller square box hanging off the beaded part. I would greatly appreciate you getting back to me. I love the necklace.

This week's show was fantastic! (Thank goodness for Tivo) I watched it yesterday afternoon, and I was practically jumping up and down in my living room when the girls weighed in. I'm rooting for them ALL, how can you not? But I would love to see one of those girls win!

Hi Ali! You are a great addition to the show. I've met you in person about two years ago and you are extremely beautiful and friendly. My 10 years old daughter and I are hooked to BL this season. We can't wait for Tuesdays. I don't know what we'll do after next week? When did this season actually take place? How long do the 4 remaining people have between this final episode and next week to lose more weight? Is there any possibility of getting tickets to see the live finale next week? My daughter and I would love to see everyone that was on BL this season, especially you! Please e-mail back if I can get tickets. I would be dream come true.

I love biggest loser. My kids and I never miss it. Keep up the great work. Has anybody thought about doing a single parent biggest loser? Just a thought.

Dear Ali,

Please don't second-guess yourself as a blogger. Your writing is heartfelt and real. It echoes what is on your face all season long. I do understand that your duty as host of the show requires you to be impartial, but you are also human; wonderfully, empathetically, delightfully human.

As with another poster, I cried many, many tears as the women weighed in this week. They did it! Somehow they pulled numbers to topple the men. Who could remain unmoved by the shockwave that reverberated off of Kelly and then to Jillian, Ali, and finally the guys as her weight loss showed up on the scale? You couldn't write drama this good!

Looking forward to the finale perhaps more than any other since the inception of BL

Ali,
What a season...I have loved every second of it and yet do not want it to come to an end. Ali looks amazing! I can not believe how strong her shoulders have gotten she has truely put on some great muscle mass. I'm impressed. As for the poster who was tired of Mark and his blubbering all season...Thank God someone else is sick of that. I understand that the way they edit the shows you only see some of what really happened. However, I have never seen a man cry so much and I'm so over it. Every time he starts my husband and I almost at the same second start with "Oh my God not again!" I'm so over him...Imagine the tears he will shed at the finale...maybe that is part of the weight loss success, should we just cry all the weight loss off???

I started watching this season from the first day. I was hooked.
Kelly should be very proud of herself, she is beautiful you did it.
my vote is to have ROGER as the next contestant. He has the wil.
GO ALL THE WAY ROGER

What? Voting is closed already? I think Ali and Kelly earned the right to vote Roger off, not only because he has the most weight to lose, but also because of all his sexist behavior and insensitive put-downs against the women. I loved seeing the looks on some of these guys faces when they got their due, after being resoundingly whipped by (gasp!) mere women! Poor Danny. Wonder whether it might have turned out differently had he voted off the biggest threat (one of his loyal men alliances) instead of a woman. Think you gleefully ingested a bite too many while you were piling the goodies so ruthlessly on some loser's table. Sorry I missed my chance to support the women, since the rules of all these games nearly always favor the men. Let's pit the men against the women next season measuring their biceps or head size(or some other body parts) for prizes of new cars, or some bench pressing of weights for $10,000 prize money just to keep it fair to the men. We know why the men are crying this year. They have been losing the game even with the deck loaded in their favor! Although I'll give Mark some slack after he let Ali carry him over the finish line. Go Ali! Go Kelly! Regardless of the final outcome, girls, the $250,000, don't get your hopes up too high. They'll probably invent some new rules allowing putting weights in your sneakers. But we'll know who the winners are! Actually, I enjoy this show very much, and I congratulate all the contestants for their truly impressive weight losses. And Alison, you're cool! But come on guys. Men against women in a thriathalon? And please, Roger, no hugs. It's too late to grovel to all the women you've turned off.

If someone cries - it shows strength. Strength, because they are not afraid to show emotion. Good On him (or her).

hi i love your show

I can't wait till the finale, and I can't help but be excited that a girl may win!!! Ali and Kelly have worked so hard to stay in the game, and I feel so proud, as a woman to know that they came out ahead in this show. I am especially happy for Kelly since she always considered herself the underdog. I am just happy to see all of them with a new-found confidence in life and in themselves.

ps. Ali you do a great job everytime. You're great in BL and DOOL!

Dude, I mean Ali, I adore you so much. I have missed you on "Days" when you've been offf doing TBL, but that's a good thing -- better than those people whose absences you don't notice when they're gone. (Not that there's anyone like that on either of your shows!)

I'm so psyched for tonight. I always root for the girls to the win -- and of course as you know they never do -- so I'm thrilled that there is actually a chance that could happen. I'm actually kinda glad my hubby will be preoccupied with the hockey playoffs so I can sit here and blubber to my heart's content...

You've done a kick-ass job, Ali. (Dave must be so proud!) You bring a warmth and a realness that is so genuine, and I think a lot of us appreciate having you as host, knowing your own weight-loss journey. I never, ever thought you were overweight before, because you've always been just absolutely lovely, but now you look...STRONG. Powerful. Yet spectacularly feminine and still so, so beautiful! Between you and the awesome women on this show, I have hope that I can do it myself. Forty-eight pounds down, many more to go, but I'm getting there!

Keep up the incredible job, Ali. You're awesome!

Ali;
Your great,I always watch Days and never watched BL until this season and your fabulous on it. Please continue. Your like a breath of fresh air.

Hey Ali and all-- I'm liveblogging the finale at http://wadeonbirmingham.com/2008/04/15/weight-and-see-those-last-10-pounds/. Good luck, Rog!

Hey, Im loving your dress on the finale... who's is it, where can I get it!

Hey Ali!

Wow I cannot believe the couples season has already come to an end. This has been an amazing season and I hope they will do couples again. I am very excited for the next season of The Biggest Loser to start again. This show really inspires me to try harder and work out even more. Even though I am not considered over weight it is still important to work out and be active. This show has really taught me how to eat healthy since I had HORRIBLE eating habits before. From the contestents on the show they have taught me to believe no matter what!

The finale was amazing tonight and my mouth dropped open everything it showed a persons starting weight and their current weight. It is incredible to see how determined all these people are and how much weight they really have lost. Just incase anyone hasn't seen the finale yet and is planning on seeing it somehow I won't say the name of the person who won. I won't ruin it for anyone!

Well anyways I can't wait for the next season.
Ali you are a stunning woman!

Hi Ali! Last night's show was awesome, it was so great to see everyone's transformations...I got pretty teary pretty often! It was also very refreshing to see everyone truly happy for each other. No hard feelings or drama over money. Bernie was right when he said at the beginning of the show that yeah, who wouldn't want 250 or 100 grand, but the show is about so much more than that.

Could you update us a little on Paul though? I remember after he was voted off and we got some updates on him at the end of that episode it was mentioned he had had pneumonia but was doing better. Did he get sick with that again? Just wondering cause I hope he's okay, missed him last night!

Thanks for a great season. Can't wait to see you on season 6!

Ali,
Great job on the finale last night!! You kept the show moving right along! But, what's the deal with the confetti!? You had trouble with it last time too! ;)

It was a great season! Thanks for everything! http://www.botanicalpaperworks.com

test, please ignore

I am so confused about the voting. I thought that by voting for a person I would be keeping them away from the finale. All of the voting on biggest loser is to send someone home but from the NBC website it sounds like all of a sudden our vote is to keep someone in the game?? Anybody else confused
