Welcome back, Stefano!
How awesome is it to have the DiMera’s back in Salem?? We were all getting ready in the make-up room one afternoon last week, when the scenes where we see Stefano’s face for the first time started to play. Kristian (Hope) said “wow. That gave me chills!”. I totally agree – Joe was playing Stefano when I first started at Days and he plays such a marvelous villain. I love being in scenes with him.
I can’t wait to see how this storyline plays out this summer. The DiMera Vendetta against the Brady’s has been such a big part of Days’ history – I am so excited that Hogan is tackling this storyline. And in such a unique way. There is a fun new twist in the story that will take us back in time…
My dad came out to watch us shoot a challenge for the Biggest Loser yesterday. We were shooting at the Venice Pier, and it was so cool for my dad to come see how it’s done. The challenges are the best day for guests - Heath is the guy who designs the challenges, and comes up with the rules, the safety issues, etc. And he had his parents there too. It was fun until my dad started telling embarrassing stories about me as a kid to the contestants. Lol. He was teasing but still… everyone knew I was nervous because my dad was watching so they were able to rib me a little for it.
Speaking of family, we also did a location shoot recently where Ben got to come too. It was so fun to see him interact with everyone. By the end he knew the contestants names, but his favorite was Bob. It was hilarious to see them together – Ben and Bob were immediate friends. At one point, Ben didn’t want to get out of the pool, and he was being very stubborn about it (imagine that.) And I said “well, Bob’s getting out of the pool now…” and immediately Ben changed his tune and was ready to get out too. So cute.
We are almost half-way through taping this season. It’s been so amazing. I have so much to say about everything that’s happening, but I’m saving it all for when the shows air because I’m not allowed to give anything away!
Yesterday, Kyle Brandt (ex-Philip) and I went to see the premiere of EVAN Almighty. I was so excited to see it – even the billboards are hilarious. And I just can’t get enough of Steve Carell. He just cracks me up. And who better to see a movie with that the ‘movie king’, KB. He has a ‘BLOG” too. I can rely on Kyle to spend the time and effort necessary to memorize every movie quote verbatim, how ‘bout that life?!
Oh and… Kyle has taken on a new project – he just produced his first Podcast (shout out to my super-talented, and supportive Brother, Ryan for making this possible!). I have watched DOOL since I was a baby. My Mom had it on everyday, so naturally I would grow up with the families in the show. I feel like I belong to the Brady family, lol. It never ever surprises me when the DiMera's come back in season. I have enjoyed what is happening in Salem right now, even though I do get irritated with the "problems" the DiMera family brings into Salem. At the same time, it keeps it spicy and keeps me watching. I guess if I wrote for Days, it would be in trouble because all the right people would be the right ones for them, and there would be nothing but bliss for all. Needless to say, I'm glad I am not a writer, but happy to be a totally sold out fan!

I can't tell you how happy I am you are hosting The Biggest Loser. And I just love trainer Bob & I can totally see how Ben would love him too. Bob is such a great guy! Seems so friendly & down to earth.
I'm glad Stefano is back as well. Looks like lots of new stories coming up. Should be exciting. The Sami stuff is still the best though!!! Thanks for all of the hard work you do Ali. You are awesome!

Ok, Stefano is the best villain ever. The scenes with you and Tony and EJ and now Stephano are just plain magikal. Your fans are always rewarded.
I'm also really excited to see the premiere of the Biggest Loser. I've been a fan of yours for many years and I know how talented you are. Don't get me wrong, I never want to see Sami Brady leave Days but it's great to see Alison Sweeney spread her wings and show her viewers what else she can do. I thought Fear Factor was a riot and the moment I found out about BL I called all my friends to make sure they watch my favorite actress on daytime.

Ali! I just wanted to tell you, you are the reason i kept watching days of our lives. I started watching Days when you went through your rape with Allen (Alan?). I have faithfully watched the show since then and you have ALWAYS been my favorite. I find that your character and the character of Theresa on Passions are quite similar... anywho.. keep up the awesome job!
oh yeah... I am excited to have the Dimera gang back, even though i honestly love the Brady/Horton clan the best! Can't wait to see how the feud pans out... finally everyone is jumping to protect Sami and it legitimately to protect Sami from someone else and not just herself! lol(even though Sami is a bit hardheaded, but then again she wouldn't be Sami otherwise)

Ive grown to like sammi so much and i just love how this summer is going to be mainly on you. Days has been a part of my everyday since I was little, my nan has been addicted to the show since it aired, and now me only 15 has an everyday soap. It is unbelievable how absorbed me, my nan, and mom become in the show we actualy talk about what Sami is going to name the baby, haha. I was watching Friday's episod at the end when it showed what was going to be on monday and I am so hoping that Sami is going to trust EJ, haha. You guys are great, I actualy hate weekends now, can't wait for MONDAYS:]
P.S. From me to Sami, I think EJ is the one for you, I was thinking about it the other day people have accepted your apologies and gave you seconed chances, what makes his case so different...haha.
I am glad to see that Joe is still going to play Stefano. I told my grandmother who is 90 that if there was someone else playing the role that it would just be weird. I grew up watching it with her everyday and I am 23. I love your character, and I never thought of Sammy as evil but of a woman that just knew what she wanted and needed loved. But I am glad to see that Joe is back and cant wait to see how the story plays out. By the way... is it weird playing a pregnant woman in a fat suit?

Ali, I love to watch you on Days. You are the best. i can't wait to see what happens next. I hope that Sammi and Ej can be together. Can you give your head writer any of my ideas. Maybe Ej can be there to help deliver your baby because Lucas is unreachable. You see how much Ej really does love you and realize that deep down you really do love him to. Where is Lucas? Detained by Stefino or Tony. Has to be something good. I would really love to see more kissing scenes with Sammi and EJ. You guys should be together and in love. Ali, I am really proud of your weight loss. However, I find it very insulting that a mother-to-be is walking around with her top portion hanging out all the time. I am aware that someone else probably picks out your wardrobe, but could you please inform them that it is degrading and insulting to women to view this every day? Thanks.

Are you the only character on the show? Why must they revolve all of the story lines around you? There are alot of other talented actresses that deserve the chance to have some airtime too.
I have been a Days fan since the very first episodes, through good story lines and bad. I'm so excited to see the characters I loved so much return and see everyone looking so great. I love that my dysfunctional Days family has reunited. Great decisions being made at Days. Look forward to an interesting summer. Also happy to see Sami and Lucas overcome the odds.
Were you enrolled at Marymount Manhattan College just before you got on Days... I was the Hall Director there and swear your name was on my housing roster!

Just wanted to say how much your fans appreciate you taking the time to blog. You're so busy right now! I don't know how you do it and still look relaxed onscreen. I'm going to start watching the Biggest Loser again since you're hosting. It is so exciting to see people start their weight loss journey. I have a sister who has been struggling for years with morbid obesity. But due to inspiration shows like the Biggest Loser and articles she has read, she finally began a program of calorie counting and exercise that is literally saving her life. She's lost 130lbs. so far -- as a big sister I'm so proud. Anyway, look forward to seeing on TBL and I have always loved the character of Samantha on Days -- even when she was really bad. Can't help it! I love your work with James Scott -- I'm rooting for EJ and Samantha bigtime, but whatever way the story shakes out, I'll still be watching because I enjoy the show. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for bigger and better things on Days. Keep up the good work!

I'm posting this on your blog as I couldn't find a blog for Drake. I wanted to say that I met Drake at a Chapman University football game in the city of Orange and he was incredibly kind. I went up to say how much I enjoyed watching his character on Days and he was just very very kind and engaging in conversation instead of blowing me off. I told him that we spent the last 2 years in South Africa where they play Days from the year 2002. I often wanted to tell my friends what is happening now but didn't want to spoil it for them. Needless to say, if you see, when you see Drake Hogestyn, please tell him I appreciated his kindness at the game. I hope I wasn't too intruding. I am interested to know what he was doing in the little historical town of Orange watching a small town football game??
I have been a huge fan of Days for years upon years lol. I'm Talking back when Carly was on and before Belle was even concieved. Back when Days did a couple of prime time episodes lol Sami has always been one of my favorite charecters. I am amazed to see how much she has grown as a charecter over themany years and hope you keep up the great work!!!!
