Interesting that neither you nor Dena chose to blog about Days this week... I wonder if that's intentional because I know I am completely disgusted with the show right now, and I'm not alone. Sami seduces her rapist? WTF is up with that? I thought you said it would be something worth watching, but there's no way in hell I'm going to watch low-brow trash like that.

That's awesome about the Lakers game, I'm not much into basketball myself but I understand the passion - I'm a huge fan of my Ottawa Senators (hockey)! I hope all the crew at Days know how much we all appreciate their hard work in making Days the best it can be and please convey to Dena how much we LOVE what she is doing for Days! I have not enjoyed the show so much in years - since at least a few years BEFORE the whole EJami/Lumi thing heated up. I've been a Days fan for a long time and I finally feel like I have my soap back! EJami are heating up and I see what you mean about soap classic scenes. I was very pleased to hear that EJ and Sami have a heart-to-heart about "the incident". It's so nice that Dena is committed to moving the story forward in a thoughtful way instead of getting stuck in the past. I also love, love, love what she is doing with the Daniel and Chelsea story. Man, that Shawn is a hottie - I remember him from when he was a bit younger and I swear that man is getting better with age! LOL Ok, sorry, off on a Days tangent. I have been watching Days since I was 9 years old, with my grandmother, she would watch until it was time for her to leave for work and she would only allow herself 15 minutes to get there. But she couldn't tear herself away until the last possible minute and back in those days of course there were no vcr's of dvr's to record. I am 51 years old now and I have been watching since I was 9y/o, you do the math.

I actually came to say...I saw the SOD shoot pics and saw todays (5/12) episode and Holy Smokes!! You look fantastic!!!! (Not that you didn't before, but I can really tell you've been to the gym!) You really look amazing and you really motivated me today!! I went outside for 3 mile jog...which I haven't been motivated to do in a week. So THANKS!! :)

I watched Days today while being at gym, like usually lately. Ejami are so hot together!!! I can't wait to see the drama with Lucas back in the picture. The only thing missing now is Brandon. I loved Brami!! How cool wouldn't that be....Lucas, Brandon & EJ all fighting over Sami.

I've been watching days for years, since I was 10, it was my after school activity, hurry home and watch Days!! & soon I got my sister, my cousins & grandmother interested in it too. And my all time favorite character is Sami!! I love how, even if she's maturing and kinda changing she's still the same person.

I just wanted to let you know that while I respect you as an actor and your talent and realize that you have almost no bearing on what the writers write, I can no longer stomach the destruction of your character. If Sami G. ever returns, I may as well, but as long as Sami J. is around, I can not take part in this show. Thanks for the memories. I look forward to the next season of TBL.

I have been watching Days for a long time. I can honestly say that you are one of my favorite characters on the show. The stroyline with Sami and EJ living under one roof at the DiMira house is a great story, dont get me wrong I miss Lucas being in the story but this makes it more intersting. I work at a hotel and if I cannot have the TV turned to Days I have a back up Dish DVR love the DVR. You an Ben are so cute. He looks just like you. You are a great mom. Ms Sweeney, I feel betrayed. I've watched Days of our Lives for over twenty years. I've watched - and enjoyed - Sami Brady for fifteen. I haven't always liked everything she's done, but I've been able to see where she was coming from, mainly because you've made her such a vibrant, complex character.

No longer. After reading the latest SOD spoilers, I'm horrified. I know there were hints out before that Sami would cross lines with the man who raped her, but I clung to the fact that you had called the storyline "great" and "classic soap." I could not believe that you would say that about a storyline that involved your own character, a rape victim, voluntarily sleeping with her rapist.

I guess I was wrong. I still can't fathom it, though. Is your contract that harsh? Do you have to do whatever TPTB tell you to in order to keep your job? Are you so eager to keep your job that everything else goes overboard, including your professional pride and your self respect?

There is nothing "great" or "classic" about a storyline like this, and other comments you've made in other interviews tell me that you know that. It's a disgusting, offensive storyline which offends women and spits in the face of rape survivors. And you're propping it in the mags?

I feel betrayed, as a woman, as a Days viewer, and as a Sami fan. For your sake, I sincerely hope you never have to face someone you love who has been raped, and defend this to her.

Ali, just wanted you to know that I think you are great no matter what the storyline is. I understand that that you are just doing your job and are trying to be fair to both fan bases. I just wish some people would stop being so hard on you. In fact, I no longer visit a certain website any longer because I feel like a lot of them only support Bryan and Lucas (not that I don't adore him!). Anyway, don't let it get you down! I still think your the greatest.

Ali I'm thrilled with the scenes and I know so many are too. Unfortunately those who want Lucas and Sami together are going to beat the "rape" drum pretty loudly. But just remember most of us who are in love with EJami and have always seen the potential with this couple also see this as a story, a soap, full of fiction and not meant to be politically correct every time they play out a scene for God sakes.
Hope you remember how much many of us who are happy with where the story is going will be able to keep you from thinking too much about one episode that happened 2 and a half years ago.

I just saw the video of you and Bryan in NYC. I noticed that you quickly changed the subject when the interviewer asked if there was any storyline that you felt needed addressing. Feeling a little guilty perhaps?
I haven't been impressed with your unwillingness to stand up publicly for Sami, but you could do a lot of damage control if you'd just out and out admit that you hate what they've done to her too.

ali i cant tell you enough how wonderful you are, i am loving days of our lives and the biggest loser, i am soooo happy that sami can forgive ej for EVERYTHING he has done, sami knows better than anyone that nothing is beyond forgiveness i like to think that sami had a deep connection with ej from the first day she met him, kinda like love at first sight but as it came to light that he was a dimera and the writing at the time tried to destroy any chance of using your and james onscreen chemistry, i am glad that you, james, and everyone involved had the intelligence and foresight to make this work, i think its shameful to use an issue like rape and its not because these people ragging you care about rape victims, they just want ej gone, its selfish and self-serving and i am so glad that sami is gonna let those walls fall away soon and embrace the love she felt for ej in may 2006 when she was first smitten with him, sami felt it then and so did ej and i am so glad that nothing that happened destroyed that love, at the same time ej has done more to make up for it than anyone in samis life before that has done her wrong and the devotion ej has shown to sami is amazing, he could have had a number of other women by now but his heart stays true to sami, i love that you and james are acting this out, no two other actors have the guts and acting skills to play it out so perfectly just you and james, and i adore you both for it, on a sidenote ben is the most adorable thing, i am glad you take the time for these things i am a mom of 2 teenage girls and those days of your innocent little boy are so short lived. dont listen to the hate or the haters ali, you are wonderful and the story of the redemptive power of love is wonderful too, just like you

Ali, I respect you as an actor and do not think your character is being destroyed. I am a fan of EJ and Sami being together, but should the writers ever decide to put Sami and Lucas back together, I will still support you. I won't be happy with the decision, but I understand this is fiction. You and James, and many others on the show are very talented . Thank you for the hard work you do.

Ali, I am not a "hater." I don't know you personally so I can't hate you. The past 15 years of watching you play Sami have been wonderful, however from a purely social and moral viewpoint, I can not watch your character be turned into a shell of what she once was in regards to the rape and have you seemingly support that decision. It's not about being an Ejami fan or a Lumi fan. I would feel the same way if Brandon came back and raped Sami and then wanted a relationship, or Alan came back "redeemed". A woman should not have a romantic relationship with her rapist, and the fact that it SEEMS that you are trying to appease both fanbases by not openly stating your opinion ala Susan Haskell and Roger Howarth years ago turns off many people, myself included. Again, I loved Sami G; I love you as an actress; I despise this storyline and an very disappointed that you, Dena, James, Bryan and many others on this show have not taken a stand.

For those of you who think there's nothing wrong with Days whitewashing the rape, think about how you'd react if instead of trying to forget the rape ever happened, the show instead showed Sami flashing back to EJ holding a gun to her head while he violated her.

To all of you "haters" out there...I myself am both a victim and a survivor of more than one sexual assault - and you know what? I don't have a problem with this storyline. You know why? I don't get my moral compass from a soap opera. I watch it to be entertained and I am completely entertained by this story. Redemption through love and forgiveness - its a beautiful thing. Yes..I am an EJAMI fan...because I think there is so much story line potential there and I love how EJ loves Sami first and foremost.

EJ and Sami are connected to each other. That is what the Santo and Colleen story showed. Even though what EJ did to Sami was horrible, just like what Santo did to Colleen was horrible, they are soulmates. They can find their way back to each other just like Santo and Colleen did (even though that was in death). I look forward to watching the story play out. Especially, as a Sami fan, I want to see Sami be the one to cut Lucas loose. She has endured far too much from that man and is always the one on her knees groveling to get him back. As a woman, that is FAR more disgusting to see time and again. Sami should not have to beg to be with a man. She is a beautiful, intelligent, charming, witty and savvy young woman who loves her family and children very much. She may have grown up a little late but she is trying very hard JUST like EJ is now too. That is why they are perfect for each other.

Excuse me, NO woman should EVER condone ABUSE being swept aside as unimportant either. Verbal, physical and emotional abuse are just as wrong and should NOT be tolerated or accepted either, but yet Lumi fans think that Lucas treatment of Sami is justified and totally right. I have even read comments about the recent spoilers that Lucas is JUSTIFIED and should get A FREE PASS for killing Sami. Spear us all the morality lessons and pretending that you care about women's rights when all you want is for Lumi to be together and will excuse the way he treats Sami. It is just as disgusting and violating. Abuse victims suffer just as much and the scars are just as everlasting.

Ali - I just saw the 5/14 episode here in Canada and it was unbelievable. You and James were absolutely amazing and the kiss you shared at the end? *sigh* It was perfection. The romance is back at Days and I couldn't be happier!

She's an actress doing her job -- her job is to act on Days, that's it. If you have a complaint, address it to the people in charge of the show. Ali is a sweet person who has gone out of her way to be kind to fans. For you to judge her for a storyline is rude and unkind. I cannot believe some of the comments directed at her.

Ali, I know you have a job to do and cannot write the words you say or way you act on the show, but what you say in interviews is totally your responsibility. I have to admit to being TOTALLY APPALLED and disappointed on your recent views on your storyline concerning your character and her RAPIST.

To be honest, you've lost my respect as the person I thought you were. I thought you were a role model for all women, especially young ones like my daughter to look up to. A person who has become a successful actress and mother through hard work and good values. But I was totally wrong. That you personally - not your character - but YOU can condone a SL you or anyone is involved in where a RAPIST is not held accountable for his actions and in fact rewarded with a child and total whitewashing of the whole situation has shown me a whole new side of you that I can no longer support or respect.

Hello Ali. I really hope you read my post because I have so much inside of me that I really need to let out. First off, I would like to say that I admire you as an actress and from what I've heard from you, you sound like a great person and I'm sure you are. But with the recent SOD articles released about you sleeping with your rapist has me so disgusted with this show and the actors involved that they would be pushing and endorsing this crap. I just wish you would speak up for your character because this is NOT Sami. And I'm sure you know this more than anyone as you are the portrayer. This has nothing to do with Lumi v. Ejami and it has everything to do with the message that is going out that rape is now "making love" and even though a man can rape and terrorize your family, it is okay to sleep with him while breaking all trust and loyalty with the man you supposedly love. Sami has been acting OOC for the past year but sleeping with her rapist is the final straw that broke the camel's back. I feel this is a slap in the face to those against romanticizing rape and those who have worked so hard campaigning against it. Speaking as a Lumi fan, I feel disgusted that she could ever do this to Lucas and I can no longer support Lumi. I have enjoyed Sami ever since I started watching this show and to see this destruction really hurts. The only ones really enjoying the news of Sami bedding her rapist are Ejami fans. The majority of fans (from all sorts of fanbases) are appalled and disgusted that this is happening. I sincerely hope that as woman, a mother, and someone who really has power to influence this storyline would speak out about this and defend your character. Thank You.

Well Aly, let me comment here to you because I will no longer be writing you letters, I am very disappointed in your own personal reaction to the current Sami storyline. Obviously you have no problem seeing rape as a romantic catalyst for a couple and I have to say that makes me question your beliefs.

You are an amazing actress and I am so sorry that some people are using your blog to bash you. I think that the way 12/29 was discussed in today's epi (saw Canadian 5/14) was incredible and very sensitive. It was appropriate and powerful. You all did a fantastic job. Please know that most of your fans realize that an actors job is to act and think you are brilliant at your job. I do not see anything wrong with the storyline. In fact, I think the way it was handled on today's show was as best as it could have been considering the horrible writing that was handed down to you and James 12/29. Dena did a great job cleaning it up and explaining to us a better picture of what really happened that night. You and James gave one of the best (if not the best) performances I have ever seen on daytime TV. I was so moved and could not get over the talent I was witnessing.

Just wanted to let you know there are still alot of people out here who love you! I know that whole SL had to be very difficult for you and James to deal with. It's unfortunate that the writers chose to go down that road in the first place, but I'm so glad tptb didn't let the controversy stop them from going with such a great couple. I watch Days to be entertained, not to align my "moral compass", and I think EJ and Sami are the most exciting, sizzling couple I have ever seen. I have never before posted on message boards or blogs, but I started because I wanted to share my love and enthusiasm for Ejami. This doesn't mean that I, or other Ejamis, or you I suspect, view rape as trivial. As a matter of fact, I know quite a few Ejamis who have been victims of sexual assault. Speaking as a woman, and a fan of DAYS, I have to say I'm sad that your blogs seem to always degenerates into the same old arguments lately. I guess, if nothing else, it's proof of your talent - people wouldn't be as passionate about your character and the storyline if you weren't really good at what you do.
Personally, I am not offended by the Ejami storyline - it's probably because of my ability to separate fact from fiction though. You have handled yourself in a professional manner and have been able to rise above the pettiness and I applaud you for that. I hope you continue with your positive mentality and realize that the majority of rational fans, Ejami or Lumi, should be able to stand back, take a breath, and more importantly - distinguish that this is a soap opera and that you are just doing your job. If they can't, they have bigger problems than a storyline or a blog. Keep up the good work - I know I'll be watching. :)

hey ali, I'm a huge fan of yours i just wanted to say hi and show you my support.

It boggles my mind that a comment about understanding both points of view on the controversial scene is causing people to say such horrible things about such a wonderful person. Being open-minded is a wonderful character trait and Ali should not be made to feel as thought she has done something wrong. She didn't say she was taking one side over another but simply that she understood ALL of us. How is that a bad thing? I know a few weeks ago some EJami fans overreacted to Ali's comments about Bryan returning and they were wrong IMO but their comments were based on the fact that they mistakenly assumed that Ali was commenting on storyline by quoting the song "my boyfriend's back". They thought she was hinting that Sami still hated EJ and that Lucas would come in and save the day. We all know now that Ali was saying nothing of the sort - she was just happy that her friend was back on set.

Dena Higley has performed nothing short of a miracle IMO. She has not brushed anything under the rug or whitewashed anything. She dealt with it head on thoughtfully and using character history to support her angle. Sami DID rape Austin and what a genius way to move EJami past 12/29. Sami understands EJ because she's been there, she did something even worse than what EJ did in the name of love. Dena has turned EJami into a complex and passionate pairing that many Days fans always knew they could be. Dena is recognizing the potential that was always there and is doing so in a way that has exceeded even my greatest expectations for this storyline. I very much like being surprised by my TV shows and Dena keeps surprising me!

Thank you Ali for your wonderful portrayal of Sami and for understanding the "it wasn't rape" point of view. You have not taken sides in this and I admire you for that. I think you are wonderful, I think James is wonderful and I think Dena is wonderful! Days is a soap worth watching again!!

I just wanted to tell you you're doing a great job right now. In fact, I don't think you have ever been involved in a better or more interesting storyline.

I can see you are getting bashed pretty bad for supporting your character. To those people I would like to say this.....

Several years ago, when I was just a teenager, I was living in a very abusive household. My mother left us and my father was a chronic alcoholic. I hated my life and was willing to turn to anything or anyone for comfort. There was a guy at school I really liked who finally started showig interest in me. So I totally turned to him and put a lot of trust in him. Well things got really bad at home one night, and I decided to sneak out of the house to go see this guy. I had never had sex before, but on the way to his house that night, I decided I was going to sleep with him. I was by no means ready or mature enough for that, but I just wanted to feel better. Well, I certainly wasn't ready for what was about to happen. When I got to his house, he had two other friends at his house. I thought it would just be the two of us, but he obviously had other plans. After all of the sweet talking, he planned on sleeping with me then letting his friends have me. I was nieve, but when I figured out what was going on, I told him I just wanted to go back home. But he didn't let me. He and his two friends raped me that night, and it has scarred me for life. The worst part was I had no family to turn to for help, and he and his friends told everyone at school I "gave it up" to them and everyone thought I was a slut.

I'm telling you this because, as a rape victim, I never felt that EJ raped Sami. Whether or not people want to admit it, EJ did give Sami a choice. I was not given a choice.

I think the writers and actors have respectfully and responsibly turned the whole 12/29 storyline around. You, James, and the entire writing staff are doing a great job. So don't let these people get you down. Those people truly are "haters" and "fair whether fans".

You are a beautiful, sweet person Ali! Keep up the great work.

I just wanted to say that I love reading your blogs and interviews Alison. You seem like an intelligent woman and I love how you defend Sami when it's necessary. The EJ/Sami storyline has quickly become one of my faves. What's it like working with James Scott and did you two plan out that super hot kiss that aired Friday in the US? I thought I was going to pass out with the slow build and how his lips just barely touched yours before you both dived in. That was one sexy soap kiss. And, I'll have you know it is absolute torture having to wait all weekend to see what happens next!

The book is FINALLY closed on that and I couldn't be happier abou it! FINALLY done with that! You and James are fabulous and incredibly great together! I LOVE IT! I think you are doing a wonderful job. I think this just proves how low some fans (Lumi ) will go just because they don't like the way the story line is going. They will write horrible things to hurt your feelings. EJ did not rape Sami, she had a choice! He extorted her but not raped her. I am glad they brought up what Sami did to Austin. I think that is considered Rape. She drugged a man ( like a date rape drug)so she could sleep with him. So I think it's funny how all these people/Lumis going around screaming about EJ raping Sami but somehow except what Sami did to Austin.A woman can rape too! Where they bad story lines, yes. Should it have been done in better taste, yes. It's a Soap Opera, not real life. People need to relax and stop attacking the actors who are just doing their jobs.If you don't like the story lines, change the channel. I am a Ejami fan, they brought me back as a viewer. I love your chemistry, you and James work so well together on screen. You are doing a wonderful job and please keep up the good work. I have watched for many, many years and have never been this captivated by two actors. I couldn't take my eyes off of the tv screen. When you and James are on the screen you make me feel every emotion that Ej and Sami are feeling. You two are magnificant and thank you for making me excited to watch this show again. Have watched Days of our Lives since I was in 4th grade...which is downright scary since no 4th grader should be watching that stuff! Anyways. I am also a huge fan of the Biggest Loser and you do a great great job on there. I have started a kids clothing company... www.paperlili.com and I just did a new line of boys tees. I don't have them listed yet however I will this upcoming week. I just think your little Ben would be adorable in them. As an EJami fan, I have had to deal with the lowest of lows for my couple (12/29, Lumi wedding, and pretty much the rest of 2007). Never once did I take it out on Ali or any of the actors involved in the storyline. I hope that no matter which way the story goes in the future or what the actors say about their personal preference that no one resorts to attacking an actor for something they have no control over.

If an actor wants to speak out, fine. But to expect them to risk their job, their standing, their future as an actor to please a particular group of fans is rude, childish, and selfish behavior.

Not to mention that if the whole reason fans say they are upset here is that they think the show is sending the message rape is rewarded then they must not be watching the show. EJ isn't getting a chance with Sami because he raped her. He's getting a chance with her because he's changed. That has been clearly shown over the course of the last year's storytelling.

I think of messages and if the show is sending ones then what they are saying is that EJ and Sami are putting their son first and putting the past behind them. Message: Childen come first

Sami is falling for EJ now that he is doing good things and being a good guy, friend and father. He is always a shoulder to cry on and he is a very loving father to both twins. He is financially supporting all of them and he is even risking losing Sami back to Lucas by helping Lucas to get freed from prison early.

I don't know what else TPTB could do here - since the new HW took over, they have been so responsible with the story and making sure that they are socially conscious when this is a soap we are talking about not an afterschool special.

Please don't attack the actors and definitely not Ali. She is such a sweetheart and doesn't deserve it!

Ali, you should take a page from Mary Beth Evans or Missy Reeves in that neither of them ever spoke out how their rapists should be forgiven or get excited a the idea of having their character paired with their rapists. Because it truly is obscene to think someone would advocate a story where a rapist and his victim should ride off into the sunset together.
I just thought it was the show that was determined to pimp Rapemi as a couple, now I know you do too.

So, NO ONE can say that it has NEVER been done and that it doesn't work or whatever because it has, and that couple became the most beloved and historical couple for Daytime television and that was, Luke & Laura, and they CLEARYLY began with a rape (which you and James are not...because to me EJ DID NOT rape Sami, she had a CHOICE, she could have said NO! I NEVER even thought of it that! I thought of it as a deal that they both made between each other!) And now Ali, you and James have a chance to join that rank and become the new Luke & Laura and the new #1 couple of Daytime television...EJ & SAMI! EJAMI!!!!!! I LOVE EM'!!! (And see, Ali this just goes to show you how low and far people will go and stoop when they can't get things their way, they aren't at all concerned with rape victims and all that other crap that they are trying to sale! I hope this doesn't post twice, but I just wanted to say that Ali is an amazing actress. I've been a Lumi fan from the beginning - when they were trying to break up Carrie and Austin. Ali is simply doing her job. I don't really like watching Days unless it's a Sami day - no matter what she's doing. Sharing the memories with John was great - I remember watching all those shows with my grandmother - she's the one that got me hooked, so for 20 years I've been arranging classes and lunch breaks around Days. About the rape - this is TV, not real life. Alison isn't forgiving the person that raped her. Sami is dealing with the person that raped her. They are two different people. Can't wait for tomorrow's episode! When is BL starting back up - I love Jillian!!!!!

First, I just have to say that your Ben is a sweetie. He reminds me of my son, who is now 17, and still a sweetie.
Just have to add to what the others have said, in that the scenes from the last few days have been very powerful. They address all the questions and issues that have been lurking and haunting the EJami pairing. You and James are awesome and were spot on with your tone and emotions...your eyes were fantastic at telling us what Sami was feeling when EJ was explaining himself. And the love scenes...well...what can I say (fans self).
You and James are wonderful, and from a longtime Days fan (watching since the early 1980s) you've been giving us some of the best performances I have seen on the show. You have overcome a difficult storyline in some very beautiful performances. Just know that your fans appreciate your wonderful efforts in these scenes.
And as for the negativity, just keep up the good work, stay positive, and know that you have tons of fans who adore you!

Hello Ali.Happy Mother's Day. Wow, you get alot of posts. You probably do not get to read them all. . Well we are very sorry that Joe Penny had such a short stay. We really dig him, and it was like bringing a little of the "Soprano's" to "Days". How is FRANCES REID? We sure do miss her. Hope she is doing well. I was just saying how we miss her homemade donuts and then they brought some to Lucas at the jail (funny).
Tamara Braun (Ava Vitali) is an amazing actress and we hope that she will stick around. If I may say, however, the story line between Dr.Daniel Jonas (Shawn Christian) and Chelsea Brady (Rachel Melvin) does not work. We feel that the two of them are a miss-match and we just don't buy it. No offense, but Chelsea looks like she is right out of high school and Dr. Jonas is a well established Doctor. It just does not work. Keep up the good work. We look forward to each episode.

WOW. I was appalled when Ejami fans attacked Alison and I am appalled now that Lumi fans are doing the same.
Alison, you are my favorite actress on Days, Sami is my favorite character. Only someone extremely narrow minded would judge you based on your opinion of a FICTIONAL storyline, and only someone with a hidden agenda would really expect you to go against your boss in a time like we are in now. I don't care if you like Ejami or Lumi or even Rolf and Sami. It is your right to like whatever pairing you choose just as it is your right to do your job so that you can keep your job. Everyone should leave this poor woman alone!

This is the first time I left a message here, and I just wanted to say that both me and my cousin Liz think you are an EXCELLENT actress! No matter what tripe they give you to play day by day, you make it believable! Sami could have been just another soap villan, but you made her real! You made everybody root for her, by showing her vulnerability, and her humourous side! You have also shown to have chemistry with everyone you are paired with! Hats off to you! Not many actors can do that, and DOOL is lucky to have you!

That said, I just wanted to add that although I am a Lumi fan, I do not hate you! I don't know you well enough, and the little I do know, I like. I know that none of you have no control over what they write, and I admire you for staying out of it. You love your job, just like I do, and you don't want to risk it. There is a saying, that says don't bite the hand that feeds you, and in your case helps feed that adorable son of yours! Am I bitter about where the story seems to be going? Yes, I am because I am a Lumi fan, do I blame you? No!

I also wanted to say that although I only watch Days sporadically ( I watch Days for entertainment purposes, and if I don't like what I see, I stop watching it, but I always come back!), the few times I have watched it, was when you, Bryan, and James are on! You gave me a reason to keep watching after Jack and Jenn left. Ever since I saw yours and Bryans first scenes together, I was wondering when your characters would finally see that you belong together! Your green wedding was a big payoff for us Lumi fans, and we thank Days for giving us that, we certainly waited long enough. I know that Lucas and sami fought alot in the past, and they tend to say hurtful things to each other, but I always enjoyed their friendship, and their family moments with Will! I think their recent scenes, before the EJ mess, showed how both characters have matured, and are learning to communicate with each other. No matter what happens between Lucas and Sami, they have always been there for each other. Lucas is the one man who hasn't run off or abandoned Sami. I know that they have had their ups and downs, but I am still rooting for them. Sorry EJami fans, but to me, Lumi are the soulmates here!

Lastly, I have left quite a few Days boards, because of the abuse from the EJami fans (who are looking for any reason to excuse EJ for his crimes) towards Lumi fans, and their abuse of Lucas, who is all of a sudden worse than EJ! So, I say to those who live in glass houses, don't throw stones! This storyline has seemed to bring out the worse in both fan bases, and the writers are benefitting from it! Lastly, I still say EJ raped Sami, just like Sami raped Austin! I don't care what the writers say, EJ never really gave Sami a choice! It was either, sleep with me and save the love of your life, or don't sleep with me and let him die! How is that a choice? And wouldn't the rest of us feel just as violated by it as Sami did? Sami was in an extreme situation! There was a storm raging, and no means of communication! EJ was the only person she could find, and he had a gun too!

I don't mind EJ being redeemed, but I would rather him be truly sorry for what he did, and not change just because he thinks it will get him Sami1 One of the reasons I liked Jack was, before he even met Jenn, he truly regretted what he did. He started to reform before her, and Jenn's love helped him to complete the process, and helped him forgive himself. That is the redemptive power of love, not changing just because you want to win somebody over. Love is a powerful motivation, but if EJ loses Sami, will he still want to reform? Peter tried to do the same for Jennifer, and when he lost her, he went back to being a villan! I would also like to see him with Nicole, or Chloe, I don't have a preference, but I would only like to see him with one of them AFTER he redeems himself! One last thing, to all of those gloating EJami fans, enjoy your fun while it lasts, because soap stories can turn on a dime, and you might be the ones left bitter and disappointed after all! Then maybe you will know how the rest of us feel!

I posted once before on here and am totally new to your site, yet a huge fan of yours also. I just read some of the blogs and I am amazed at how many people can slam you as a person for your "tv ACT>" Don't some think that this is just your job? In which you are amazing...weather or not your with Ej or Lucas (I however like you with Ej) but your character just makes the most out of which ever they make you do. That is why people love you so much, not for who your with, but for how you do your job. You are truely talented in acting and it shows everyday. Even on the biggest loser...you are not fake, and it shows that in REAL LIFE you truely care about people. Ignore the idiots who bash you, obveously they live in a dream world, and sit in front of the tv way too much to know real life and make believe. Dave and Ben are lucky to have someone like you in their lives. You do a great job, and are a remarkable person. Keep it up, we all stand behind you!

The lack of *intelligence* is shown by those who judge a scene based on their own made-up version of the facts. Get your facts straight Anonymous at 1:22PM, Sami was *not* held at gunpoint and raped. The gun was not a factor and if you look at the letter of the law (which is what truly *intelligent* people do), you will come to the same *intelligent* conclusion that Sami was not raped by EJ at all. Your opinion is based on emotion not facts or logic. Obviously, you are a passionate person but certainly not an *intelligent* one.

Ali, you are absolutely 100% the best actress on Days right now. You give your all in every scene no matter what the writers are asking for. Thank you so much for being one of the reasons I have stayed loyal to Days for so many years! :hug:

All I have to say is, I can't believe how Sami just threw EJ aside when Lucas showed up. Sami and EJ making love after all was forgiven was a special moment, and she just threw it away like it meant nothing. It was to me a very important part of the story and I just think Sami should have given it the respect it deserved.

You are doing amazing job as usually. I have always had sympathy for Sami, the way you portray her is amazing and I love how she has grown to a smart young woman and still kept her personality.

I'm really getting upset by fans turning against you and trying to make it sound like you are supporting rape. People please try to remember that this is a soap opera!!!! It's first and foremost ment for entertaintment, and if everything that happened in it was morally correct it wouldn't be a soap opera! I hope everybody are sane enough to understand that in no way is any of the actors neither the show supporting rape. It's really disrespectful for you who are just Lumi fans to suggest something like that just because storyline isn't going the way you want it to.
And just for the record, even if Lucas saved Sami from deathrow years ago, it was thanks to him she nearly got excecuted hadn't he changed his mind the last minute, and what if that was too late? And Sami herself told in one episode now in May that she drugged Austin to sleep with her....

So please try to keep in mind that this is a soap opera with mainly an entertainment purpose. It's not trying to tell you how to live your lives. In no way has Ali ever suggested rape is alright, so please give her a break, she shouldn't have to defend herself because some people are misunderstanding.

Al the actors are doing a wonderful job, Ali, Bryan James...everyone. Can't wait to see more Nicole-Sami drama ;) I love seeing Sami as her typical self: jalous!! :P

I think it's really disrespectful of YOU to incorrectly assume that a) it's just Lumi fans who are upset about the way rape has been trivialed and b) that people are only upset because the storyline isn't going the way they want.

Many Days fans, not just Lumi fans, are survivors of rape or know someone who survived (or in some cases DIDN'T survive) rape, and are deeply offended that the performers are not only staying silent about the travesty that is this storyline, but promoting it as 'classic soap fare'. I pray to god that you never have to experience the horror of rape.

Ali, you were busy, I must say. I love Days and the biggest loser. I think that the story line on Days between Sammy, EJ, and Lucas is great. My opinion, Sammy and Lucas' fights are better than alota the others love scene. (NO OFFENSE TO ANY OF THE OTHERS!) Like I said, I'm a big fan of the show. Also, I watched the biggest loser because I'm a one of your fans, too.

I'm a 39yr old man. I spent 20 years in the US Air Force. I spent almost all of those years watching Days and One Life with my wife of now 19 years. I'm not particularly awed by celebrities and don't get goo-goo eyed when I see one. You are a person just like me. You eat, you sleep, you have a family, a home, a job(s)etc. (Just wanted you to know that I'm not some star-struck freak, so it will be easier for you to appreciate and believe in what I am about to say next)... I am a huge lover of movies and some TV shows. My favorite form of entertainment is one of the oldest in the world's history; stories brought to life by people acting them out. Days has some really great actors, and unfortunately has had some really bad ones. I've watched you grow with the character you play from the time you started 15 years ago to now, missing some scattered episodes of the show mostly while I was deployed several times to the million acre litter box they call the Middle East. I've cried with you (I mean Sami), I've smiled with you, I've felt sorry for you, I've been angry with you, hated some of the things you did, and been proud of you for others. An actor or actress who can do that to real people, and pull there emotions like that so easily, is exceptional. You, Alison Sweeney, are an exceptional actress, with exceptional talent. As a lover of stage and screen performances, I have watched thousands of actresses perform, and can honestly tell you that you rank in the top ten percent of your craft. Keep doing what you're doing. I'm sure your Husband and son are VERY proud of you.

I've just read that you are expecting another baby (though I've always believed in the motto "dont believe everything you read"), and if it's indeed correct (and not just gossip), CONGRATULATIONS!!!! I've watched you on TV since your very first day on Days and though I know you have won awards as "Best Villian", Sami has always been my favorite character, villian or not! :) I've also enjoyed watching your occasional guest appearances on other shows and of course, your hosting duties on BL!! :)

A big thank you for the autograph you sent a while back, I've been so ill and it brightened up my day when my dad brought in the mail and asked if I knew anyone (reading from the return address) named "Alison Sweeney". I'm a little puzzled as to why people are "telling" Alison their "extended" opinions of her storyline on this blog. IMHO, the Days message board or the NBC board would be the appropriate place to talk about their opinions on these issues. I, personally, do not this is a place to also question her character either. I have gotten the impression that this blog is for commenting on what Alison (who ever so kindly is taking the time to keep in touch with her fans) has written on her blog. Once again, this is IMHO.

Ali, there are things being said that are disturbing to this fan. It's not my place to go into detail. But there is a soap opera website where rumors are being spread like wild fire. I fear that you are about to lose all of your EJami fans due to the things being said, things that others have said have been confirmed by "sources." If true, Days will lose more viewers who will never come back to the show. I won't go into to detail, but for me as an EJami fan, the innuendo being spread as fact is devastating. Is it true? My heart is broken completely. Lumi fans have been telling us for ages that you were against EJami, that you didn't like us as fans, and that you didn't particularly like James. But I wish to God that I had not heard what I did. I really do. And now with this article in Canadian TV Guide, allegations and speculations and one person claiming to know things that do not make you look good. My dear, if these claims are not true, damage control is in order. If they are, then I am truly saddened. But even with all of this, I have enjoyed your work over the years. I realize that you don't have to like your fans.

Where are you Ali? There are a lot of rumors out there about you and your name is being dragged through the mud. The silence out there is deafening and is a confirmation for some that the rumors are true. Please tell TPTB that they need to clear this up ASAP before they lose more loyal viewers who right now feel pretty jaded. I have a question for you Ali: why do you hate EJami and EJami's so much? It really hurts to read interviews where you praise and favour Lumi, especially when I read the comments Lumi fans make about Sami and you personally. I really hope that one day you will be able to see that EJami are a better storyline than Lumi and that there's more perks to working with James than him being just enchanting.
