I remember when my mom was pregnant with my little sister .
All day long and with every meal she had those
big (grape size) yellow onions they where a bit sour and a bit sweet.
I don’t know if you could bye them in U.S but in Belgium you can.
But the point is that every meal they where on our plate
Me and my dad HAD to eat them
(preferably with a smile and they where good for you so she said ).
and she had mood swings when ever we complaint about those
onions while we where having dinner W.W III broke out
all because me and my dad don’t like to eat onions every day
But I guess in the end mother knows best
because my sister was a healthy baby

You are probably the busiest actress on Days with Biggest Loser, Charity work (congrats on award in Santa Monica), real-life mom, pregnant, yet you take time to blog. I am greatly enjoying your scenes with Galen as I was a long-time Passions viewer - and there were times when I looked more forward to seeing that show than Days - mainly because of the humor it evoked. A couple of actors from Passions said Galen was their favorite because of his sense of humor. I evidenced this as the Day of Days event. When 'Maggie' did not show, he became my first choice for first autograph. I will always how I told him that he made my day and how his response was "You made mine too'. I do not think he would have said this had I gone through his line later when he saw how very popular he was - I think at the beginning he may have been uncertain of the fan reaction being that he had only been see on Days ONE episode. I think you are a lucky gal to have the scenes with him and I hope he stays a long time and that some of those ho-hum ones fade away. I read in Variety today that Days was only picked up for the next 18 months instead of the former amounts of 5 years at a time - although there is a good possibility of another renewal after the 18 months.

Hi Ali! Thanks for blogging with us! I love your story about the pickles! It's so cute. I am really enjoying the scenes of you and Rafe (Galen) in the Safe House. I loved the scene when you were banging the toilet plunger singing, and Rafe was watching the television. It was so funny!! I think your characters play off each other. It's very humorous, but also emotional.

I used to be a big Ejami fan, but I am not anymore. I just like the chemistry that you and Rafe have as a couple. I am a new Days viewer. I started watching consistently since about a year ago, so a lot of these storylines are new for me. My best friend has been trying to fill me up on who's related to who, who dated who etc.. lol I think I got it now.

Anyways, I would just like to say thank you for all the wonderful work you and all the actors and all the crew/writers/producers do on Days. It's amazing it has been on the air for 43 years, and it's awesome that it's a quirky, emotional, romantic, and mysterious storylines all wrapped together into a show I can watch with my husband after a long day of work.

My husband has been a fan of Days for over 20 years. I think some people are surprised at how many men watch the show.

Also, in regards to Ejami, I really would like to see fresh starts for Sami and Nicole. I am enjoying Nicole and EJ as a couple. It's something fresh. I think it might be great if you ended up with Rafe, but who knows what is going to happen.

LOL!! Thanks for taking the time to blog, Ali. It was so funny to see Sami munching on pickles in front of Rafe and him being clueless. I love his not-so-subtle reactions to things you say (such as "I'd rather be on *death row again* than be away from my children"). Too funny. You have great comedic timing, Ali. I only wish they used that a little more when you're on screen with James. He's quite funny too.

I couldn't agree with you MORE about Sami's wardrobe (pre-WP). The outfits they had you wearing only *emphasized* the fact that you were pregnant! You look much smaller now that you're wearing normal clothes and you're simply adorable!!

I can see Sami and Rafe becoming friends but I don't want any hints of romance between them. In fact, I hope he's somehow instrumental in getting Sami and EJ get together in a month or so. I desperately want EJ involved in this baby's birth! He was cheated the last time.

Alison. I LOVE pickles too and I've never been pregnant!! I can eat a whole jar at once so I NEVER have them in my home!!! Always get extra when I see one on my plate!!! Glad to hear you were not happy with the tents they had you wearing before heading into witness protection. It was absolutely terrible looking!!!!! I have to say that I'm missing my EJ and Sami on my tv screen. And I hope to see EJ at the birth of Ejami's new baby in the future!!! I too feel he was cheated out on the birth of Johnny. Hope you understand that some fans feel extremely cheated out at this moment but, I'm going to hang on and hope that this story line changes in the near future!!!! Thanks for blogging and letting us into your world. I have to say even though I think Sami and Lucas should be together the scenes your are doing with Galen are very funny. You are great at comedy. I have never been pregnant, so I don't know the emotional rollercoast you are going through, but it does come through on screen. The scene you did when Sami had to leave the twins I could really feel your pain. The way you were trying to hide Sami's emotional torment from Chloe really showed through. I can't wait to see what happens with Sami once you return from maternity leave. I was really hoping that the writers wouldn't write your pregnancy into the storyline, but since they did I'm hoping they do the right thing for the characters. Absolutely loving the Safe House scenes and can't wait to see how they play out...and let's admit it...Galen is H-O-T!, and I'm sort of hoping for some attraction there...but that's because I'm sort of looking for something else to make Sami's life complicated (as if she didn't have enough, right?!?!?)
And you know what? Even before and after pregnancy, if there's a jar of pickles in the house, I'm crunching on them every chance I get...mmmmmm...dill pickles!

Hi Ali, I can relate to the pickles (although we call them gerkins in Australia)! I am mum to 3 kids, and with all of them I couldn't eat enough of them, but to my husband's horror, I had to dip them into the honey jar first. I have since tried it, now that I am not pregnant, and I have to say that it is revolting!! Pregnant women certainly know how to eat bizzare things.

I am not a mother, not have I ever been and I am not pregnant now but I absolutely love pickles. I put them on whatever I can whenever I have the chance. They are the best comfort food I think. I am so glad they no longer make you wear bags on the show. I hope EJ is at the birth of Sami's baby and that Ejami reunite. They are the only reason I watch and will ever watch. Ali, I'm not sure how to get this to the right people but I love Days.... Now that Kate has lung cancer I needed to write.. Please pass this along.. I have stage 3 lung cancer and have been blessed.. I had 35 Radiotion and 10 Kemo from March- June 2007... I was at the Dr 1 month ago and they don't see my cancer.. I do have oxygen problems and am on it preety much all the time.. I know that Faith, attitudie and love have brought me this far and I look forward to MANY more yearsa.. God is in Control and is using me to help others... Please pass this on and try to bring OUR Lord in the up coming epsoides. I am Blessed by the Best and pray that you are to.... Keep up the good work.

Your pickle story is funny. I have to stay, quite frankly, that I have not been watching the scenes in the safe house because they're just not interesting to me. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Dena does that right thing and not reward EJ with another of Sami's children after all he's done to her and her family. BTW, why are the SPD so concerned with finding a scum like Trent's killer when they still haven't found out who attempted to kill Lucas in the freezer truck? Or who shot John, stole his kidney and ran him over?
I love Lumi. They need to get back together.

You are my absolutely hands down my favorite character on days. Your character reminds me so much of my younger sister. I would love to see Sammy out of that safe house and back with her babies again. I can already see where Sammy and that FBI character are heading...but I have to agree with the other comments, the safe house is getting old and boring fast. I love seeing Sammy with EJ and I can barely stand seeing EJ with Nicole. I am okay with Lucus being with Chloe because I have never felt that Lucus was right for Sammy to begin with.
Anyways........just wanted to tell you that you are a fantastic actress...my favorite by far. I wish you the best of luck and health with your baby! Cant wait until you are back in Salem doing what Sammy does best!

I have been watching Days for most of my daughters life and she is now 40 although I don't know how she got that age. I still like the show and your part seems so hard to do because you are so high strung. I made a comment one day to my mom that you must be exhausted at the end of your day. You are so beautiful also and love your smile and enthusiasiam
I may be wrong but my guess is that the writer is going to work it out that your baby winds up in Nicoles arms and then I don't know what you will do. I mean even the dna would work. We'll see if I am right in the future.

I have watched days since i was 11 years old . I would get sick quite often so i could watch. i could relate to Sami as my parents were separated and divorced also. I think that since Stepheno has cameras every where that Stepheno should find out about the fake pregnancy while looking at the tapes when Raffe wdas at the mantion. Besides if EJ knows his father was in the house by looking at the chess set why hasn't anyone noticed the vase is missing? The maid should have noticed immediately she does dust. Somthing should happen and Sami go unconscious Raffe call EJ since he is the father Raffe tell him and EJ realize she sacrificed everything to keep their baby safe and that she truly loves him. Sami deserves happiness it took me awhile to get my happiness but after one divorce I am happy and so should Sami but with EJ he was there for her when no one else was.

(this will be temporary though Sami will know her baby when she sees him/her, and Nicole just can't seem to stay on the right side of the truth, to her ultimate demise. Poor Nicole!!! sheesh when will she ever learn!

I eat sweet with a sandwich and dill just to snack and every once in a while I will drink the juice (only the dill). What kind of pickles do you like? I also love you on Days of Our Lives! You had your baby on my husbands birthday. He thought that was cool.

Ali congratulations on your new baby girl. I am pregnant with a girl due in May and am going to name her Samantha Grace. I couldn't believe my ears today when I heard Sami named her baby Grace.
