This whole "Sami and her rapist" stuff?? Come on- that is getting so old! It is TV...and stranger things have happened. Like people coming back from the dead. Besides, EJ and Sami have way more chemistry and just like she has been forgiven for her transgressions (um, like raping Austin, shall I go on?)... so should EJ. Besides, he is hot and a great actor. If the situation had been reversed and Lucas had been in EJ's shoes 12/29, all of this "rapist" talk would not even exist. The bottom line, if you are a fan of Lucas and Sami, you are not going to like EJ and Sami- the writers of 12/29 just made it easier for you. Watching Lucas and Sami kiss makes my stomach turn. They look like brother and sister and Lucas always has the angry face like he cannot wait until the scene is over. All EJ has to do is look at Sami and sparks fly. He represents everything she ever claimed to want- before Lucas turned into Carrie. It is nice to finally see someone pick Sami first (EJ) and not try to change her- in fact, he loves her because of her faults not in spite of them.

OMG, I'm having BL withdrawl. Last night I was seriously waitng to see you on TV and had to find something else to distract me....when does BL return??? I Love to see Jill on DAYS! So classic that she calls you Ali instead of Sami. As for Ben growing up...I feel your pain and excitment. My little man is 6 and my little lady will start kindergarten in the fall- YIKES! It is fantastic to see them learning and watching them grow so quickly and then realizing cuddle time on the couch is out the door-they are busy with friends. So to the gym I turn in hopes that all Jills "Trainer Tips" will start getting me ready for a summer at the pool! Keep up the good work on Days! Thanks for Blogging. Glad that Bryan is back. I really wish the writers would just move on from this stupid fanbase war and this constant debate (fillibuster). I don't know how many times Sami has to chose Lucas over EJ for others to move on. Sami wears Lucas' wedding ring on a chain on around her neck as a daily reminder of the man she loves. It is easy for supporters of EJ to say just forget about that night as if that would be the only reason for anyone to dislike this character. There are many reasons to dislike him but that is the strongest reason for him not to be paired romantically with Sami. I am a long time soap watcher and willing to suspend much belief but will never support a pairing of this couple. I switched from GH to Days when they started pairing Sami and Lucas and think they have chemistry on many levels. I know James Scott has lots of fans but think it is time that he is paired with a new love interest of his own.

Ali you are doing a great job on both shows. I'm a new viewer to BL thanks to your hosting the show but I am a long time Days fan. I've watched since the show began. Talk about watching people grow up, WOW! I have watched both you and Christie Clark (Carrie) grow up on the show. I LOVE Drake as John and he and Dee are wonderful together. I find this "new" john such a kick and love his scenes and dialogue. I can't wait for Bry to get back on screen. I sure have missed him and I hope Will comes home and tells everyone the truth, he is the one that show EJ and not Lucas. Will needs to tell everyone his dad went to jail to protect him. Anyhow I enjoy EJ but liked him bad better than now but I still want Sami with Lucas either way. Love reading your blogs and hearing about your personal life too. Earth day episode is one of my favorites. I've seen so much "green" this week, it's actually starting to sink in... Jillian did an amazing job as herself (LOL). I would love to see more of you guys on Days. I am enjoying watching Days right now, you and James are my all time favorites.

I have respected and admired you for the past 13 years (that's how long I have been watching Days of Our Lives). You were what attracted to first start watching. I loved Sami Brady and your portrayl of her. I absolutley love your chemistry with EJ (James Scott). In fact Ejami is what brought me back to being a full time viewer of this soap. It's cool that Bryan is back and you are really happy but I feel this post to be a slap in the face of EJami fans. As for supporting Ali, these outbursts are hardly supportive. Real fans would understand that Ali has a mind of her own and this blog is hers to write about what SHE wants, not what YOU want. This blog wasn't even about a fan base but Ali's friend and co-worker returning to work. As much as you might wish otherwise, he's back, she's happy he is--DEAL!

Love Love Love TBL - you are a wonderful host. Your excitement for this show is fantastic. I have to say that I wasn't a regular viewer of DAYS - but I haven't missed a Day of Days since the day that Sami and EJ met. It is so unlike me to be so into a show like this. But I must say your on screen chemistry with James Scott is the best I have seen any two actors share in a long long time. What ever it is know this you two have got "IT" - can't wait to see what happens with EJ and Sami next. I loved Santeen - you and James were brilliant as Colleen and Santo. I also have to say I appreciate the message that redemptive love is powerful, that forgiveness is powerful. I hope the writers bring that message to it's proper conclusion. I hope the writers are not cowards and are bold enough to show that even the unforgivable can be forgiven. Sami of all people should understand this. Even a soap can model a good message like forgiveness!

Ali, I'm glad that your friend Bryan is back on the show. Although I am an EJami fan, I know you must be happy to have him back. I just hope that this means that we might get more Sami trying to deny her feelings for EJ now that Lucas is back. I really feel like EJ and Sami have gotten closer over these past few months and would love to see that actually turn in to something and given a chance before it is all ruined. You have such a large fanbase and EJami hasn't even been considered a "couple" yet. Can you imagine the attention that EJami together would create? There is so much potential there. I hope we get a chance to see it. It would be a shame if it were wasted. We've been waiting a long time for EJami to atleast be given it a shot. I really hope we don't get a replay of what happened last year. That obviously didn't work.
But, for you, I am glad Bryan is back. I'll be interested to see Lucas' reaction at how close EJ and Sami have gotten.

Listen, I am an Ejami fan, and we all don't feel as the few radical posters here, feel. We still support you, Ali!! I don't particularly care for the character of Lucas in general, but I don't think it's bad that you are glad to be working with Bryan again. I think the writing has driving some to really resenting this never-ending triangle, it's echoing the Sami/Carrie/Austin/Lucas days. It's time to move on from that.

I don't miss a second of Ejami scenes.....Ej and Sami have amazing chemistry, and you, Ali are an amazing actress! I am always glued to the screen when you are on it!!

Hi Ali! Thanks so much for the blog! You are awesome and you did such a fantastic job with BL. Just like on Days, with each season/year/episode, you just get better and better. You are like a perfect student, you take something from everything you do, learn from it and improve on what many of us already thought of as perfection! LOL :) I'm glad your friend is back for you but I must say, I sure hope Lucas isn't going to be in Sami's life too much longer! I'm hoping maybe Lucas and Ava will hook up. I want EJami for Sami and a new romance for Lucas. I think both these awesome characters deserve a fresh start. I also think that EJ has proven his remorse and his redemption by now so I hope the writers are planning a big scene between EJami where Sami finally forgives him and admits that she knows EJ is her soulmate!! EJ and Sami are a true supercouple - against all odds!! Happy Earth Day/Week and I hope you are able to find a little more time to relax now that BL has wrapped for a bit. People get frustrated over story lines and take comments out of text. Don't assume its the entire fan base that feels that way. Its a show people, obviously Ali doesn't write the show. Wow why can't she be happy about having her friend have his job back. While I am a die hard Ejami fan and would prefer Lucas gone lol, I am glad a single dad has his job back.

Ali, thats nice you are happy your friend Bryan is back but would it hurt you to say anything nice about an EJami pairing. All we ever hear about from you is how much Lumi loves each other. Thats not what many of us see onscreen. We see a destructive, boring couple that is over.
Also take note on how Ejami fans support Sami even when she is being mean and horrible to EJ. We hang in there because most of us are Sami fans first. Can't say the same for the Lumi fans you seem to love so much. The moment things are not going well between Sami and Lucas (which we all know is because of what the writers write) they bash Sami and sometimes you. Lumi fans are Lucas fans first.
The EJami fanbase has grown so large so fast and it would be nice if you would acknowledge the couple once and a while.

I just read through some of the comments here and I must admit, I'm rather disappointed by what I see (from, I hate to say it, my fellow "anonymous" EJami fans). I know we want Ali to say she loves EJami and hates Lumi but that ain't gonna happen guys unless there is a complete end to the fan war (perhaps by pairing Lucas with someone else and from what I just heard, Bryan himself has revealed that the show wants to try matching him with someone new). Ever since this fan war got crazy, Ali has been very professional and neutral so as not to upset anyone so it must be frustrating for her to read someone taking her neutral comments and acting as if she just said "EJami sucks". The frustration EJami fans feel shouldn't be towards Ali, it should be towards the show for putting us on a roller coaster and disappointing us last year. However, since Dena took over, I have to say, other than the less than stellar dialogue during the writer's strike, I haven't been disappointed AT ALL. I LOVE Dena's vision for all the storylines (not just EJami) and I feel like I have my favourite soap back! Just remember, Ali doesn't write the show and she has done a wonderful job, as has James, to make EJami believable even after the show went in what many of us feel was the wrong direction back on that fateful night at the end of 2006 followed by a year of bad writing choices in 2007. I think things are great and when I hear how excited Ali is about the soapy goodness we have coming up, I can't WAIT to see what's in store for my favourite couple! Thanks again Ali and I hope you know that anonymous does not speak for all EJami fans. :)

I'm currently 20 pounds in to what will (hopefully) turn out to be over a 100 pound weight loss! I am a huge DAYS fan. Ali, I am sorry for the comments that haven't been very friendly. I'm not really one to act like I'm above it, I've been venting about it all day. But please try to take a look at it from EJami's side. We are constantly beat up as the "rapemi" fanbase. Some EJamis do not believe what happened between EJ and Sami that night was rape, but they are not allowed to think that it seems. (I think it was a form of sexual assault but not rape). Anyway, it's hard to deal with that day in and day out and they won't let it go no matter how much we fight for our beloved Ejami. We are worn out, frustrated and as you can see, temperamental. BD is coming back and we are still waiting for something good to happen between EJami and I think many of us are feeling vulnerable and nervous about Lucas's return.
No offense but the last 6 months of 2007 was just brutal to watch. I love DAYS but I stopped watching because I could not handle the back and forth, forth and back, schizo'ed feel of the show. It was just too much!! It left me exhausted as an EJami fan, and sadly totally disintereseted in this couple that had capture my imagination and enthusiasm.
I think many of us are dreading to go back to that.
I"m sorry for not giving you more credit as an actress. I know you are professional, extremly and that is why you have been on DAYS for so long.
I'm biting my tongue and I'm going to wait and see what happens. I'm actually really excited about what's to come!! I hope to get to post to you again about it to and put all this bad/edgy temperament (in this thread) behind us.

So it was perfectly okay for Ejami fans to celebrate when Bryan was given time off, but it's wrong for Ali to be happy for her longtime co-worker's return after 3 months? Something is seriously wrong with this picture.

Ejami fans, if you feel you're being slighted, or ignored, I'm not saying that you are or aren't, but if you feel you are, perhaps you should examine why that might be?

Think about it, long and hard, and see if you can put 2 and 2 together there...

It's not that hard to put 2 and 2 together. Actors should go out of their way to appreciate ALL of their fans, or risk alienating the fans that they choose to exclude. End of story.

I have always loved Sami Brady. Through all of the crap she has pulled, I have stuck with her, defended her when needed, and rooted for her.

I'm glad you got your friends back at Days. I'm enjoying EJ and Sami growing closer together and hope that the two characters realize their feelings for each other now that EJ isn't being such a bad boy. I think they can be a real supercouple like Bo & Hope, Steve & Kayla, John & Marlena, Jack and Jennifer, Shane & Kim.
EJ and Sami explode off the screen with chemistry, which is a very rare thing nowadays on soaps. EJ & Sami can hopefully lead the show back up in the ratings and become the #1 soap again!!!

One thing I will say for EJami fans is that they can admit when they are wrong. I applaud the EJami fans who came back here to apologize to Ali for their earlier comments. It shows true integrity when you can acknowledge making a mistake and own up to it.

I don't think there is anything wrong with talking about EJami OR Lumi in a comment to Ali. Both of these pairings are part of her storyline and comments on either pairing is a shout out to Ali herself and the wonderful job she has done bringing out the best in both EJami and Lumi. Neither fan base is owed anything. EJami fans just didn't enjoy the show very much in 2007 and as one person pointed out, I think a few people are worried that Lucas' return will be a return to 2007 but as Ali fans, they should have shown respect for Ali's longtime friendship with Bryan. I think Bryan is awesome and I've been looking forward to the show exploring a new romance for him and I think Dena is going to do that. Bravo Ali for rising above both sets of bickering fans! :)

I would really appreciate it if you didn't generalize. I was not at all happy when Bryan left. It is clear that it is only a very small minority of EJami fans who made inappropriate comments in here but for some reason, the entire fan base is being attacked. Not all and not even a majority of EJami fans think that the comments by the few in here were ok. Do I feel slighted? No. Do I feel as though the show has ignored my point of view on the "incident". Yes, absolutely but that has nothing to do with Ali or her blog comments and only has to do with a specific storyline point. It also doesn't have anything to do with the behaviour of a fan base. If the show wrote based on generalized fan base behaviour - they wouldn't be writing EJami OR Lumi. Sami would be paired with Dr. Jonas and to heck with all of the crazy warring fans! LOL :)

As for your last comment - what does that have to do with this blog or even any of the comments made here? Ali was actually at Forbidden Love this week. Ali loves ALL her fans and I think she has made that very clear to all of us.

I haven't watched too many episodes of BL, as I have two small children, but I have enjoyed your hosting when I have watched it. I love you on Days as Sami. I have watched for many years and always enjoyed her antics. I love how Sami and EJ play of each other. I am excited for the upcoming summer storyline. Classic Soapy Drama is always good! :)

It must be nice to have an old friend back at work! I would love to see Lucas a different character when he returns from jail. I think Sami also needs to come to terms with her feelings over EJ.

Ali, you are a terrific actor regardless of which storyline the writers choose. Your friendship with Bryan is to be expected. I am personally an EJAMI fan. But that does not mean I would wish anyone out of job- out of storyline, yes, but not a job. I am tired of some LUMI fans attacking EJAMI fans and the actors. I have noticed that many fans of LUMI seem to be Lucas fans first and have resorted to personally insulted Alison depending on where the storyline goes. Many of them attack James Scott frequently. His website has been removed and more than likely his blog has stopped because some of the posts are downright threatening. I think some LUMI and EJAMI fans need to get a grip and remember it is TV. Stop attacking the actors. I have never liked Lucas and Sami together- before EJ was even a character. I have never liked Sami with anyone except Brandon and EJ. But I have always liked Sami. I don't know if you read them, but the boards are out of control and there are a lot of LUMI fans out there that are quite mean, whether they post here or not. They are out there. If you read EJAMI boards, they are about how much EJ and Sami are loved and wanted. A lot of LUMI boards or Lucas boards are about hating EJ, or worse hating James Scott. It is ridiculous already.

Ejami fans might have more credibility on their not bashing actors claim if they weren't spamming Bryan's comment box or spreading lies about his chats and how he interacts with fans. The Lumi site I frequent never says anything derogatory against James or any other actor. I wouldn't be a member there if it did.

Hi Ali! Thanks for blogging with us. I agree with PowerMouse. I am an Ejami fan, but you know, I love the show all around. I enjoy the show in general and have found the writing to be greaat. I can't wait to see the new shows and all the drama surrounding it. Bottom line here is, even if we are Ejami or Lumi fans, we have to respect YOU because you are taking the time to blog for us, which is great!

I apologize for those fans who have been rude. I think you are very neutral and give us great insight into what is going on with the show. It is indeed a SHOW, that we watch, on TV. Days is my relaxation after work and I enjoy watching it every day. I am fan of many of the storylines, except the Ava stalker storyline, but only because I believe it has gone on too far.

I love all the green tips on Days this week. Keep it up! I also stopped buying bottled water. Some of us (me), are sorta slow, making the changes necessary, to help the environment. We need to be reminded for it to sink in. Thanks Ali and Days for the tips. Someone on the message boards, mentioned that the customers are drinking from paper cups, at the Java Cafe, when they could be drinking from mugs. It was rape--the writers wrote it as rape, the actors played it as rape and the characters have called it rape. It was rape and no amount of spinning by EJ fans is going to change that. Find something else to complain about.

I have been a fan of Days for about 25 years now. Sami has always been one of my favorite characters. You play her wonderfully! I have always felt Sami's pain in wanting love, happiness, & a true family. I thought she finally had that when her wedding with Lucas FINALLY happend! But, alas, it didn't last long - thanks to those dastardly DiMeras! I am soooo EXCITED fro Bryans return!!! He has been greatly missed. I can't wait to see Lucas come back and reclaime HIS family! WHOO! HOO! "Her boyfriends back and your gonna be in trouble!" Love it!!!

I would like to explain why a few of my Ejami sisters were upset by your recent blog entry.
We are only frustrated because we feel like we have been teased with the possible romantic pairing of Ejami for so long and when some of us read the song you quoted it felt like all our hopes were being squashed.
So many of us fell in love with EJ and Sami together when they first shared scenes back in 2006 and have waited for the magic that they had then to come back.
Even after the "rape" storyline played out we still held out hope. Even when the other fanbase was calling us horrible names like rapelovers, immoral, disgusting, and some went so far as to wish those of us that didn't see that night as they did to be raped ourselves.
After 2 years of being called the most insulting names by people who didn't even know us we have gone on the defensive.
We do know you were just happy about your friend Bryan returning to work. So please do not judge us all by the passionate words some of us said in the heat of the moment.

This just isn't the place guys - Lumi fans, you aren't impressing Ali by attacking EJami fans and by acting as if you are better than they are. EJami fans, you aren't impressing Ali by giving her a hard time about how her comments came across to you.

Ali - you rock! I love you, you did great on BL, you wow me on DOOL in every scene and you are just all around amazing. I love EJami and hope that there is lots of good stuff coming up for them! You and James have been awesome. Thanks for all your hard work!

Ali.....you have always been kind and considerate, loyal and a delight to watch on screen. I have enjoyed you on screen since the day you first appeared in Salem, and the only time I ever watched Fear Factor....yep, it was your appearance there. I tune into Wheel of Fortune when you appear, loved your appearance with the cast on Ellen (another show I rarely watch), tuned in when you took viewers on a camera tour of your home. I love that with your busy schedule you take the time to write something for your fans. I am truly sorry that some over enthusiastic fans of other actors take umbrage with how happy you were to have a co-worker back on the set. I remember you making the same sort of comments when Ari returned, and back when Joe Mascola was back on the set.

Bryan is certainly full of humor, & I imagine everyone has a lot of laughs when he is on the set. Thank you for taking the time from your busy schedule to blog to your fans. The vast majority of us appreciate it.

Bryan has been your co-worker and friend for many years and you have every right to be happy he is returning. Your blog had nothing to do with the fictional characters that you portray and everything to do with your excitment over what is happening both on and off screen.

Ali, its great to hear how happy you are that Bryan is back. I cannot wait to see the scenes between Sami,EJ, and Lucas. Hopefully tptb will throw Nicole in there as well. She is the best comedy relief.

I’d like you to know who I am first; I feel the apology will be more honest and sincere this way (not to say that the others are not). I’m known around the message boards as Pearly_Moon but you will recognize me as Betsy one of the girls from FL that gave you the pony for Ben (on behalf of FL) in Charlotte, NC this past February.
Okay, here goes….I’m one of those that misunderstood your words. Though I did not post a response here to your blog, I did make a disheartened post at FL. In reflection, I realize that was a bad judgment call on my behalf and for that I apologize. You and Bryan go way back and of course you have the right to be happy that your friend (and co-worker) is working again. I know through the years you as Ali, the actress; have struggled with being synchronized with Sami, the character and I have always been critical of people doing that. As a fan of yours I am rather disappointed with myself that I was guilty of doing the same thing to you with your blog. Again, I apologize.
I just want to say one more thing. Ali you are a fantastic actress and I LOVE watching you on DAYS. I am ecstatic to hear that they are giving you better material to work with. I know you are going to rock those scenes (along with James and Bryan). I hope that with Dena now on board, DAYS reverts to the soap I fell in love with in the mid 80s.

I'm almost speechless after reading this comment. There is not one EJami fan that I know at Forbidden Love who feels this way and if they did, they would be banned from the site. Also, they have their facts wrong too which makes me wonder if they are really a member at FL - Ali has posted at Forbidden Love just as she has posted at Second Chances. We are just a group of very passionate people who really want EJ and Sami to get together. Let me clarify a few things about the reasons I am upset. Got kinda crazy in here I see...lol Man this fan base berating and bashing knows no boundries. Sorry you are surrounded by it. Look at it like this, it is flattering that people can feel so passionately about a character YOU created! So either way, feel comforted by the fact that you are a soap genius and brilliant at what you do. (wink) I wouldn't really worry about the name calling, hurt feelings, the drama, the questioning of mental health due to liking a couple etc, etc, etc. It has been going on for a long time. But in all honesty, at this point it is just a few people that play like that still. So perhaps it will die out for the most part soon. I just think some people are tired of it and a little sore around the edges thus a little sensitive. In truth it is understandable and in reality has nothing to do with what you said really. But rather harsh treatment has pushed them to extreme frustration and sensitivity. Then add a couple of spamming trouble makers and presto! A battlefield has been set and the name calling, cut downs, immature baiting runs loose under the brave name of anonymous.

As for your blog itself. I am excited!!! You have wet my pallet with your upcoming soapy-ness! I am soooo ready for some soap drama in full swing. In regards to getting more screen time with the characters of John and Marlena...I have been enjoying it! In the past I have not really cared for the characters. Right now though I have fallen in love with the character of John. Drake is doing fantastic! The character is hilarious and dark and I LOVE IT! Because of this change I have found Marlena to be more interesting to watch. I wait to see what her reaction will be to something John says with curiosity and interest. I find am loving this new balance with John and Marlena and thoroughly enjoy watching them. Then, when you throw you and EJ into the mix? I am seriously one happy camper! I can't help but notice certain mirrors between the two couples.

This Wed show 4/22/08 was FANTASTIC! Sami's interaction with Marlena, John, EJ, then Kayla and Ava's scenes...I LOVED IT! It does look as though we are heading towards some good soap action and I can't wait!

As an EJAMI fan (like I need to tell you that! lol) I was not upset one tiny bit about your blog and I know many weren't. Of course you are happy to be taping with Bryan again and happy to have him on set. From what I hear he brings a light heartedness with him. So good for you!

Plus I want Lucas to comeback so Sami can finally end things clean and clear. I want her to CHOOSE EJ. I want her to know above all else that EJ is her future and destiny. I want her to say good by to Lucas and enable herself to move forward in her life and be empowered to be who she truly is by herself and EJ. I want Sami to "woman up"! and tell anyone that can't accept her, can't appreciate her, can't stand by her good OR bad to suck it! LOL Sami deserves to be free of the mold she has tried so hard to make herself fit into for years and years...and a major step towards that is setting herself free from those that stifle, belittle, guilt, berate and simply try to change her. So I want Lucas back. Otherwise it was never Sami's choice and I want it to be her choice.

Ali has been a member of 2C and it's earlier predecessor for about a decade. She posted a quick Yay Bryan's back in a thread. Was she supposed to post that on FL?

I think it stinks that you feel you can dictate where Ali can and can't post and it's sad you even keep track of this stuff.

As another poster noted above, Ali visits and posts on both sites.I am sure if James were gone for three months and was coming back, she would visit FL and not post it on 2C. It's about content. She doesn't have to post or visit at all. If a Yay, Bryan's back! has you so upset, it's your problem, not Ali's and not anyone else's.

Hi Ali - Your little boy is just adorable! I miss my boys at that age. From everything I've read, you are an amazing Mom. You can see it in the way to interact with your TV kids as well. I'm really happy for you with your success on Biggest Loser and Days. At the risk of sounding too motherly (and I'm only 39) I'm proud of you! Ali I think you did a wonderful job on the "Live" BL final episode. Actually everyone looked fantastic. I can't believe the awesome transformation. I swear I was so happy for everyone I was tearing up. I love BL and you are one of the main reasons I watch it.

Also I'm glad that Bryan is back. I'm not a Lumi fan but I wish him success and another storyline that doesn't involve EJ and Sami. I like Sami and Lucas as enemies but not as a married couple LOL. Things with both fanbases seem a little tenser lately. Mostly because of Lucas return. Ejami fans were hoping for more advancment with the EJami relationship while he was gone and Lucas fans want him to come back and 'claim his family'.
So alot of its getting thrown at you as well as in James' blog and now Dena's.
I noticed a few posts here asking for help with the NBC message board. Not sure if you can actually do anything but it needs to be known how unfair it is towards Ejami fans. The moderators are Lumi fans and if you do not agree with their views then you will find yourself banned. You do not even have to break the rules now. They get away with it because there is no one to monitor them. Now so many fans of other couples do not bother to post at that board anymore because of the treatment they receive there.
The people that have gotten treated badly there are crying out for help now anywhere they can. None of the Admins have dealt with the concerns of those posters that have been subjected to the wrath of NBC Days lumi mod team.

The bigger the fanbase, the more widespread it will be. There is no cult - just a whole bunch of Days fans who love the chemistry between EJ and Sami. There are tons of EJami fans on all the boards now because the fanbase is huge - probably the biggest for a pairing that Days has seen since the Bo&Hope era.

Ali is as responsible for people loving EJami as James is and I think talking about it here on Ali's blog just shares with her what people have loved about her portrayal of Sami. At this point, EJami fans don't need an agenda - the show is going with EJami and because more viewers prefer that storyline. Many people have said the comments are so transparent but I'm not sure what that is implying. Fans are trying to convey that they love Ali's character in a pairing with James' character. That seems perfectly reasonably as a topic to post to Ali on a blog that talks about the show.

To have so many fans this passionate about the show that they want to share their joy about what they love all over the Internet is great. I'm not sure why some people think it is something anyone should apologize for. Also, by the same token, the bigger the fanbase, the more opinions you are going to see and not all of them will be ones you agree with even within the same fanbase. I don't like that some people posted comments here that were negative but I do like seeing how passionate they are about what they like about the show. I often find that Lumi fans only ever talk about how much they hate EJ.

If ejami is so huge, why are the ratings in the toilet and why is it that the days the pairing is on are usually the lowest rated of the week?

Stop coming here to pimp the couple. This is the very behavior that turns people off. And considering the amount of threads I've seen from Ejami fans hating on Bryan Dattilo, I have to laugh at the statement that Lumi fans only talk about how much they hate EJ. Perhaps you should take a look at their sites. I see nothing but Lumi love. At least Lumi fans can tell the difference between James Scott and EJ.

If ejami is so all wonderful, why do you all feel the need to bash Lumi? If your pairing is so wonderful, surely everyone will see it. From the ratings, they don't. Try reading mainstream messageboards and see what fans not a part of either fanbase have to say. They have turned on Sami for hanging with her rapist and the vast majority agree that rape is not romance and that they could never get behind the pairing. There are other fans out there besides the two fanbases involved.

Hypocrite, take your own advice. That's what Lumi fans. Voting at Fallin ring a bell? And what about Sony? You only get numerous votes because the whacko Jarlena fans side with you. Lumi and Lumi fans are a joke. If Lumi fans can tell the difference between EJ and James Scott, explain the posts that say 'fire James the rapist must die'? I have seen in more than one place Lumi fans refer to James Scott as a rapist. EJami is the real deal. If you would open your eyes, you would see EJami days are usually the highest rated and news flash, Einstein, soaps across the board are loosing fans. A soap is in trouble to begin with if the fate of it rests on one couple. It's a team effort, so if the ratings suck it means theirs a problem with the writing and storylines, not the people and the couples. Get lives you whiney, self-righteous loosers. Take your own advice, take responsibility and grow up. Nobody cares about you.

Well it was fun while it lasted. For the first time in a long time I've actually enjoyed Days. Not preparing myself for ferret boy's screeching was like a vacation for my hair, it just started growing back in.

this is the problem. robin k, you mentioned that nobody calls JS a rapist, but there are a few Lumis out there that don't seem to understand the difference. the above post says that ali should be glad BRYAN is back so she doesn't have to work with the rapist....that is wrong. She's not working with a rapist...she's working with a great actor, James Scott.

And never would I go around calling people rapist lovers and wishing for someone to be raped. What kind of person would ever say that? Rape is a truly horrible thing and when it gets taken from the context of a show (which is meant to be dramatic) to being wished on its fans, something needs to be said about it.

I would like to think that we are all adults and can understand that this is a soap opera, a great one at that, and drama and relationships are at its core.

Ali asked anonymous why her blog celebrating the return of Bryan Datillo was a "slap in the face"..it was not the celebrating of the return, it was the song choice, and all of us here know that is why some took offense, while others were jumping for joy.

We all know the lyrics of the song, (at least those of us who are over 30) and it tells of a "big bad boyfriend" who is coming back to save the reputation of his girlfriend who is being harrassed by a cad.

But..the story playing out on screen does not show a cad. It shows a caring, supportive, tender hearted man who loves two children very much and is trying to take care of them emotionally and financially.

So I will wait for the scenes to play out. If Ali meant to give a shout out to the Lumi fan base, it will become clear in time. If she did not, that will also become clear. Meanwhile, we should all just cool our heels.

As for EJ not being a cad, even the mighty James Scott said he's playing him dark. Accept the fact that EJ will only ever be a plot obstacle for Lumi, and move on. If you really want the character to be a romantic lead, try pushing for EJ & Nicole or EJ & Philip. He has great chemistry with both of them!

It really bugs you doesn't it that Ej is everything Lucas is not. I have checked my facts and Ejami days are the higher rated episodes. Maybe you should look at the bigged picture and stop being so biased. They have the potential to be romantic. They aren't a stale 15 year old story that the only thing left to do is send the couple off to Switzerland. You can't have a supercouple with a leading lady and a supporting man. Get real. Not everyone buys what you are trying to sell. Some of us never did and never will.

When EJ and Sami actually get together and are written as a couple in love, the ratings will most definitely go up. I haven't liked how they've written EJami since 2006 (although, there has been the odd great scene) and I'm still waiting for a return to the magic. If you give us a romantic EJami wedding, people will tune in. For the romantic Lumi wedding, no one was interested. You have to compare apples and apples. The Lumi pairing just fizzled after 2004. When the love between EJami returns, so will the viewers and from what I hear, that will be sooner rather than later. I'm sorry Lumi fans but Bryan himself admitted that the show is testing him with another actress. Lumi is done and it is time to celebrate the fresh start for both Ali and Bryan's characters. I think it's going to be great and I look forward to actually being able to root for Bryan in a pairing again along with being able to root for Sami again as she returns to the feisty and crazy character I once loved! It's all good and Ali has the chops to make it amazing! :)

Well for this I am going to comment. For every "Lumi" life event be it the wedding or the birth of the twins has been tainted by the presence of EJ. Sami has asked him many times to respect that relationship and yet he still persued a married woman. With yet another dark cloud looming over the wedding with both EJs physical and mental threats, I am sure most viewers were preparing for yet another failed Sami wedding. These physical threats (his hands around her throat) render the remarks above about Lucas being the abuser are almost laughable. EJ attacked Sami in her own apartment and we wont even mention the other because I am told I should have gotten over that. As far as Bryans remark it was said to be rumored he may get a new love interest. The actors test with many of the new people for all we know James could have too. Maybe this person is interested in him and not the other way around. Even if the rumor is true most of these never last for very long because Lucas will always love Sami. I don't believe EJ is neither kind nor redeemed and may be able to keep them apart for a little bit of time(some lie or manipulation, no doubt) but I still think Lumi will always come back to each other. EJ needs to eventually be exposed for all his crimes the least of which is his attempted murder of Lucas. Lucas and Sami are a legacy couple just like Bo and Hope, John and Marlena and the other couples on the show. These couples have huge fan bases as well. Being the most vocal or I am sorry rabid does not mean that you are the largest and most popular.

Ali, I don't think there is any misunderstanding your words in your blog. Clearly you show once again how you favor the Lami fanbase over the Ejami one. Maybe they should have named our board Second CHOICES since that's obviously how you look at us as a fan base. I'm sorry to have ever campaigned for Ejami or sent you anything showing my support since it is so obviously not appreciated.

You would be nowhere without us Ejami fans. Who do you think has been keeping you on the map with all our emails, letters and postcards? And I for one am sick and tired of being treated like the second class citizens of that fanbase.

I feel so sorry for you and how you are being so unfairly criticized! I am a diehard Ejami fan and I have never felt that you did not appreciate our fanbase! By far we do not all feel the same as some of the above posts! I completely understand your being happy about Bryan returning and it would be awful if you were not! Bryan is your dear friend and it is completely understandable that you are happy of his return as Im sure you would be if the roles were different and it were James! I feel comfortable in saying that Im sure that the greatest majority of Ejami fans love you as much now as ever! Without YOU (or Sami) there would be no Lumi or Ejami! I also belive it is safe to say that the greatest majority of Ejami fans love Bryan. Just because we want EJ with Sami over Lucas that in no way means that we do not support Bryan or Lucas for that matter just with another love interest! Bottom line please know that Ejami fans absolutely LOVE and SUPPORT you! You are my favorite actress on Days (and in general) and I hope and pray that you stay with Days for 15+ more years! Keep it up, the more you bash EJami fans, the worse you make yourself look. Where did anyone say that they thought EJami was being written as a couple in love? Never not even when EJami were dating did people say that - EJami were getting there though before Hogan got his grubby little hands on the story.I have been complaining about how EJami has been written since Hogan Sheffer took over writing. Saying Sami loves EJ but won't admit it is a much different statement. Sheffer ruined the show along with trying to throw EJami out with the trash. The difference is that we all still remember the magic of EJami and we refuse to let the mistakes of Sheffer change our passion for the hottest pairing Days has had since the 80s.

Oh, and even if Lucas was tormenting Sami, EJami fans would still all tune in to see a romantic EJami wedding and I have no doubt that the Lumi fanbase tuned in to watch the Lumi wedding. I think soon, we will have romantic EJami and when we do, we can compare the ratings with the Lumi wedding ratings and I have no doubt in my mind what they will tell us.

Lumi have never been a legacy couple. Supercouples are always the rooting couple and EJami is by far the rooting Sami pairing and has been for awhile - that's why the ratings were so bad last year. Hogan didn't write for EJami, he wrote for Lumi so EJami fans tuned out. Just keep watching the ratings as EJ and Sami continue to get closer. When they share their passionate kiss next week, even more people will fall in love with them. Lumi just doesn't work and the show knows it - they always have. Do you really think they would have rested the character of Lucas if they thought Lumi was good for the show? Hardly. Days doesn't break up supercouples unless one of the actors decides to leave and it was well publicized that Bryan didn't want to leave and that several of his friends were understandably disappointed in the show for resting his character.

Wow, I have been reading Ali's Blog for a while now, I have never commented about her, her personal life or her life as a very talented actress. People, people, DOOL is a Soap Opera, wow it's entertainment. The writers write the script and the actors act the part. Gosh you guys are way over the top. Enjoy Ali as the great actress she is and be bleshed that Days is Making a Strong come back and not getting the boot off the air. The ongoing debate of which couple is better is getting real old. Spend as much time with Ben as possible - my son just turned 15 years old on the weekend and it seems like yesterday I stood watching him take the bus to school for first day with tears running down my cheeks. Time passes quickly and all you will have are those moments that you spent together. Enjoy and cherish them! I am a fairly new fan of yours - just started watching DOOL almost a year ago - flipping channels EJami chemistry just stopped me ! Now a huge BL fan - you do a great job on that show. Wow I'm shocked at all of the comments I'm seeing here. Ok so many of us are happy that Bryan is back (both Lumi and Ejami fans alike) and some aren't so happy. I'm more shocked though that everyone feels the need to carry the fanbase war into Ali's personal blog. She didn't say anything about the storyline simply said that she's happy that her co-star of 14 years is returning after an abscence. Ali has every right to be happy that Bryan is returning, they are friends and it has nothing to do with the storyline that is approaching for their characters. If you can't say something nice then don't say anything at all.

To those that posted rude comments claiming to be from FL...Funny, I have never seen you there and I have been a member since the day the site opened. Must you mascaraed yourselves so? Why don't you just express your feelings about Ali's blog, perhaps the couple or actors you love and leave it at that? Seems silly to guise yourself as a member of a fan base to try to make it look bad. I know Ali is intelligent enough to see through such tactics and what is the point really?

I can attest to FL being a wonderful site that is positive, fun loving and a great way for people to meet others and talk about that which they love. As I am sure SC is as well.

I'm so happy to find this blog. I love your enthusiasm for the Biggest Loser contestants and your love for Days. I'm glad to hear that Bryan is coming back to Days. I've been a fan since the early 90s and had quit for a few years. It was seeing Sami and Lucas being together that finally got me interested in the show again. And then I saw Sami with the character EJ and man, you have awesome chemistry with both guys. I'm so happy to find this blog. I love your enthusiasm for the Biggest Loser contestants and your love for Days. I'm glad to hear that Bryan is coming back to Days. I've been a fan since the early 90s and had quit for a few years. It was seeing Sami and Lucas being together that finally got me interested in the show again. And then I saw Sami with the character EJ and man, you have awesome chemistry with both guys. I honestly couldn't say who I prefer, so I'll just leave it up the actors and Days writers to help make up my mind. LOL

So to add to more of the blogging. After reading half of all the comments I have to say that people are nuts. Well i think we all are a little nutty in some ways, people just tend to show it a little differently. I have watched DOOL since my stepmother made me watch it in elementary school. I am now 25. So I know alot of the history and shockingly this is my first blog post. I have read some of your blogging before and think that it is pretty fantastic that you do it for all of us fans. I do have to say that I am an "Ejami" fan as they would call it but I did miss seeing Bryan on the show because I have watched it for so long. You have been a fav actress of mine for a long time and thought I should post it. Also you were terrific in TBL. Can't wait for next season.

There are a lot of EJami fans who love Bryan/Lucas and we really want him back on the show and in a story line of his own that he will rock. I am sorry that you are now caught in the cross of this fued between Lumi/EJami. I think that sometimes people forget that you guys are actors and that you are all friends off screen, just like other people make frinds at work, so do you guys.
As a EJami fan I just want you to know that we do not all feel the same way as some of these posts have implied, so, please don't walk away feeling that we do. I am just so sorry that people would be as cruel as to say some of the nasty things that some of those have mentioned on here.

I am sorry you did not get an Emmy Nom. You really should have. I think you and James Scott both deserve nominations, some of the performances you have both given have been once in a lifetime. I think it's so cute for you to sing such a lively song. When I first heard of it, I thought nothing of it and still don't. I just see it as a joyful expression of being happy while at work and welcoming back a fellow co-worker. I think you are a wonderful actress and totally rocked taking on the double duty as Sami and Colleen. That must have been difficult to separate the characters and not mix up their individual differences and quirkiness (is that a word? LOL)--in other words, to play them differently from each other (i'm horrible with words... hahaha). I was so totally sold when I saw you play Colleen for the first time. The accent was DY-NO-MYTE!!! Great job, Ali!
