catching up
I've been crazy busy - thought I'd catch you all up to speed on what's going on!!

And then, after watching the Lakers kick @ss Sunday night, I had an early call to Days. We're shooting about a month ahead right now - lots of stuff I can't talk about. lol. Then, the whole Days cast got together to participate in an nbc promo shoot. Such a fun afternoon - even though we were freezing!!! whrrl.com/ we started feeling rain drops as we were all gathering for the big group shot. Still it was a blast.
I've been checking out the Days message boards to see what fans are posting about this storyline. Thanks for all the positive feedback. I've shared a lot of what I've read with James, Galen, Ari and everyone else. It's been so encouraging for all of us - everyone worked so hard on those episodes.
As much as I hate this storyline, Kudos to all of the actors involved.
I cannot imagine how difficult this must have been for you - and the rest - since you have a daughter of the same age at home.
The "humanization" of Nicole has been a long time coming; poor thing is in for a real fall, I'm guessing.
I FF through most of this show, I must admit, but the dynamic amongst the group involved in this storyline keeps me from hitting that button. I hope that there is a quick resolution to the baby-switch, and not Days usual "stretch the story for as long as we can and beyond."
I've loving the Grace storyline (although I wish the writters would wrap it up soon instead of dragging out the eventual reveal). I'm not a crier, but I definitely had a box of tissues close by last week. Ali, your scenes were absolutely heartbreaking! Also, Rafe standing by Sami during this time is incredibly poignant and EJs reaction to the startling news was incredibly genuine and tragic. And can we talk about how ricidulous it is that Ari wasn't nominated for an Emmy for her work last year during the miscarriage storyline? Such a robbery! Way to go everyone - keep up the good work!
This storyline has been so sad, but the performances have been some of the best that I have ever watched on Days. Sami grieving Grace and her disbelief over what was happening, to her finally confessing to EJ and his reaction. I've been utterly captivated. The writing is good and the acting is fantastic! Keep up the great work, I am definitely looking forward to the day that Sami is reunited with her daughter ... and EJ. :) Haha, I couldn't help myself. ;)
Ali, your and James' performance was above and beyond. Absolutely gut-wrenching. As a member of the audience, I just want to thank you and James for throwing everything you had inside you at us. I didn't even cry when Zack died, but your and James' devastation really got to me. It had such realism in the performance. Three scenes that made me lose it; When you had Sami breakdown in Roman's arms, the way you had her cry "daddy", OH my! Sami's reveal to Ej. I don't know how James does it, but his trembling hands coupled with his shaking tone of voice, gutted me. Lastly, when Ej broke down over the body of little Grace, DEVASTATED me. I'm tearing up just thinking about it.
Thank the makeup department gods for not layering makeup on you. Flawless overdone makeup is very distracting in a scene like that. (e.g. kate with flawless makeup while undergoing chemo in the hospital.)
It was impossible to sit through any of your scenes and not cry. Actually, I workout while watching Days. So needless to say, my workouts have suffered a bit the last week. Crying does not bode well with the stair-master. LOL! If you and James don't win your respective categories in the Emmy's next year, point me in the direction of where to riot.

Ali, just wanted to add a quick reply about your performance last week in regards to Grace's death =( Your portrayal of Sami and Jame's as EJ during those scenes was heartbreaking. From the moment Sami realized that her baby was sick, to the aftermath of her death. And the heartbreaking look and shock of EJ when he realized that the daughter he never knew has died made me cry. Ari and Galen were wonderful, but yourself and James had me glued. I was able to understand Sami's reasons for her actions, but I also understood EJ's hurt in being kept from his daughter. I'm hoping that when all the grieving and hurt has passed that EJ and Sami can be reunited together, as well as with their daughter. Rafe and Sami have their sweet moments, but the passion between EJ and Sami grabbed me as a fan and continues to do so; and that's just credit to the great chemistry you and James have on screen. Also, can I just say what a superwoman you are and of course GO LAKERS!!!!!

Thanks Ali, for the dedication and respect you have for your fans and fans for the show in general. I hope you receive that respect in return from us the fans. I agreed with Red Angelus' comments about the current storyline and the fantastic work the whole cast are producing, but in particular you and James. Amazing perfomances over the last few weeks and I believe the 2010 Daytime Emmy winners for Actor and Actress have already been won! Thanks for all the time and effort you put in to keeping us informed. It means more than you know and we really appreciate it. Love to you and your family. Now take a rest Ali!!!
Hi Ali! Props to you for doing such a great job on Days! I kinda lost interest in Days for a couple months while I was moving, but I'm officially moved now so I can get back into it, which I'm super excited for! I really appreciate the updates and the amazing job you do on Days and BL. I can't wait to see what else is coming up on Days Of Our Lives! Toodles! :D

I also really enjoyed Josh's scene at the hospital with you. It was a short scene and he didnt say a lot, but he made me well up!!
I didn't like them killing off Grace, but Alison did a great job as the grieving mother. I will feel bad for her when she finds out that Grace was not her child and that Nicole switched babies. EJ is nothing but a joke with his hatred of Sami, considering he raped her the first time. What will he do when he finds out that Nicole lost their baby and took Samis and gave her Mias instead. Stefano will also be on his sons hate list when he finds out that his father knew about the switch, and that Sydney is his and Samis baby.
Just wanted to say that I love Rafe and you as a couple. They make Lucas seems to be so stupid now when it comes to his wife. She has no reason to get upset with him for keeping your secret when she has one of her own that is worse than what yours was. At least Rafe has been with you to protect you and Grace. Best of Luck with your relationship this time. You deserve to be happy for a change and I liked Galen when he was on Passions.

ali and galen, you were the true stars of this storyline! you were amazing in such an emostional storyline. and rafe has been so strong for sami through it all. yet you can see his pain.
i loved brandon and sami years ago and never thought i could love a sami with anyone this much, but i love sami and rafe!!

Alison-Congratulations on Ben's graduation. Enjoy the day and your family. I hope the writers will write in good scenes like this where Sami gets to experience real celebrations like this will all of her children. The best reason for watching Days in your performances and the experiences of Sami Brady. I am hoping some day the writers will begin to write positive scenes for Sami and not ones where everyone she loves is taken away from her. Alison, you must be a very strong person to handle all of the ups and downs of Sami's life. Enjoy your own family. I am sure they support you so much for you to be able to get through all of these very difficult scenes.
I just hate they are keeping Sami with Rafe. We were promised EJ and Sami last year and just like before we were lied to. I will not be watching any more so good luck, I hope your writers eat bad food and get sick because they truly suck.
I hate to disagree but Ali and James were the STARS excellent acting!! Galen was okay but I seen that before on passion his heart just wasn't in it. Wonder why Ejami fans don't come in here and post there are more of them than safe fans. I HATE SAFE sorry but you do not have the chemistry with Galen like you do with James on screen. Chemistry is just something you have like Richard Gere and Julia Roberts it's just there and Galen and you just don't have that, You and James do. So I guess Days will make it through the summer with all the kids they have brought in to appeal to the younger viewer but when school atart's back and the writers start writing for their veteran fan's they may find a lot of them gone because like on poster wrote we are tired of being lied to and jerked around by the writing staff at day's.
Ali, I've so enjoyed watching you grow as an actress over the years. Your work last week was also a joy for me to watch even though it made me cry my eyes out. Great acting always does that for me. You conveyed every emotion that Sami went through -- the disbelief, the grief over the loss of Grace. I felt like I was eavesdropping on a very private and sad period in someone's life. You did beautiful job.
I thought all of the cast contributed so much to making these scenes come alive and seem real, as real as a daytime soap can get. I particularly enjoyed your work with James Scott. The both of you took so many risks with your scenes - I've never seen anything so raw on an American soap opera before. It really was electrifying to watch. I couldn't take my eyes off of the TV. Both of you are such fine actors. Everyone did a great job. Those scenes must have been difficult to play out. Sad, intense, while at the same time, great television drama. Thank you so much for a job well done. And please pass along to your co-workers how much we appreciate the hard work you all put into the show.

The whole cast rocked the funeral scenes, I even felt a little sympathy for Nicole (props to Ari...because that is a hard feat, Ha) But your performance had me bawling, so emotional and raw.
Looking forward to more EJ and Sami scenes, I just can't get enough of those two.

Me and many other fans discussed how it's so nice of you to take some time to talk to your fans. Take time to read our commets/facebook walls/twitter posts. Good to see both you, Ari, Eric, Galen etc on twitter and getting the chance to ask questions.
We feel so invested in Days characters, especially fans who have watched the show for many years and are devoted fans of the show, that easily get emotionally attached to the characters, and stay dedicated.
And it really means a lot that you care so much about your fans, we get a little glimpse of your life. For instance how you feel about the show, other actors performances and so on. Like the other day when you commented on your twitter how you thought Galen Gering did a good job in the church scene. Or how you told rest of the actors all our positive comments about how fans think everyone did a good job in that very hard storyline with Grace. It's fun for us to see that also you guys feel like we do sometimes. And to hear about the support and friendship of the cast in Days.

If you read this, please also tell Lauren Koslow that I think she has been amazing in Days, and I loved her scheming against Daniel and Chloe.
When I met her at Day of Days, I was first in line and regret that I got so nervous and took a picture of Jay and Nadia, but didn't dare to ask her too or talk to her that much. And she seemed really genuinely nice. I just want her also to know that we love Kate also.

With that said, I really truly love Sami.
I really mean this: You have been my favorite actress since I started watching Days.
Sami is so passionate about things in her life and I love seeing her fight for what she wants. I have always enjoyed storylines with her. And your acting is so great. Because it's easy to love Sami, even when they've made it that maybe we should hate her, we end up loving her, because even if she does wrong things at times, she does them for the right reasons.
Sami fighting with Nicole or Kate has always been funny which is also good to watch on Days. Sami's crazy plans are too funny.

I also have to say since Fall 2008, what keeps my interest in Days and makes me even more invested in the show is SAMI and RAFE.
I have not seen such an amazing couple ever in Soap Opera history. I'm falling in love with the couple with many others. You and Galen Gering have great chemistry onscreen. And Sami and Rafe have every aspect of a perfect couple. They're so supporting of each other, so funny, so sweet, so loving, yet so hot, so passionate, on fire when they fight. Safehouse scenes were hilarious, loved every second of them. (the only thing we 're missing now is Hilda!!).
Rafe seems to make Sami happy and this is the first relationship I'm seeing where a guy is not screaming and yelling to Sami in a disrespectful way AND he's behind her in everything she does. - Sami and Rafe against the world........!
But I do love - especially - Bryan as Lucas and I also like James as EJ too.
I KNOW SAMI AND RAFE ARE HERE TO STAY!!! :)
Hope the writers keep SAFE together. It would be stupid not to. They can't make such a great couple if they were just to break them up and go for something else instead....umm...actually they can. They can do whatever they want. But I'm hoping they wont.

Thanks for taking time to keep in touch with your fans! I just wanted to give a huge shout out for the wonderful scenes you have given us these past few weeks. The entire cast was wonderful but James Scott and yourself went above and beyond previous performances. The two of you always draw me in but no more so than these past 2 weeks. I hope the two of you are recognized next year with leading actor and actress Emmy noms.

Baby Grace's storyline really hit home. We lost a son to bacterial meningitis back in 1981. If you ever needed your mom most, that was the day. What happened to Marlena? Why did they take her away. Her and John was the greatest love story of all time. And Roman was so great at seeing that she belonged to John. Roman was the best for Sami when Grace died, but he needs to see that Rafe is what Sami needs now. Get rid of EJ and Nicole and let Sami and Rafe have the twins and Will. Then they can have another child together and name her Faith! Faith has gotten us through our time of loss, and she will get Sami through it too! Faith! I like that!!

Ali, I just saw your Twitter update & I'm watching Days at the same time today! U are doing an amazing job,u make me cry everyday. U look very realistic, not wearing makeup. Thx 4 not being fake. Thanks for sharing. As sad as the whole Grace story line was, I thought it was really dramatic. The real stand outs in the story line yourself and James Scott. I was glued to the screen. Don't get me wrong the other players weren't slouches either. Can't wait until Sami and EJ's real baby is revealed to them. That should be some real drama. Even fighting Ejami still has the "it" factor.

The Grace storyline floored me. I haven't felt so "into" DAYS as far as emotions in forever. Sami, well Ali, played that part to the point that she should get a HUGE award for it. I cried and cried every day over that show. Ali, you are my fave on there. If you ever leave the show, I'm sure I will leave Salem behind as well. SO DON'T ever leave :)
