And its over!

I am elbowing my way down the corridors of MSG with everyone else leaving to go home. Flights for tomorrow morning are already cancelled and a few friends of mine will have to spend an extra day in New York!

James won again!! What a dog!! And Kelly Fitzgerald won again. She piloted Samantha another English Springer Spaniel a few years back to the same exciting win! I had to drop off a friend's attire across the street and the parties have already started.

I wish you all could have been here! I thank Westminster Kennel Club for the opportunity to be your eyes on the floor! I had a blast!

Sincerely,
Anna Stromberg

Hurray for the James Gang.
We have a rescued EES who's about 7 year old now.
I can just imagine her at a dog show, barking at every dog she sees.

I called it from my couch!
He is such a handsome fellow that even on TV he was my pick for Best In Show. Wait til I tell Wilson (a neighborhood Springer) he will be so proud.
Congratulations Diamond Jim and family!

Boring Boring Boring! It was predictable and boring. I mean the same handler with the same dog as in 2000, gimme a break! I watch every year hoping a hound will win. Only two or three wins for the group in how many years? That is just wrong and unfair. It's so boring watching the same breed win so many times. It is odd and seems like they already know who is going to win. Boring! I hope that someday the judges do thinking of their own.

How fun to read Anna's blogs. This is one of the first Westminsters I have missed since I was 11. I could not be happier for James and Kelly both are great examples of our sport! (even if in 2000 Samantha did beat me Bebe!!)I have to admit it is much less stressful to watch from my couch rather then to be an assistent..but I will always miss the garden!!

I love dogs of all breeds, however have always taken affection to ESS's. Congrats to James (who ironically is the name of my dog's sire). He is a beautiful dog, and expresses all those wonderful qualities in a Springer that we owners love. Mine is enjoying the snowfall today.

Please tell me the name/breed of the large dark-colored dog with the longest ears. I would swear they said over 30 inches? It was competing on the 2nd nite.

Thanks, and a link to it's photo would help.

Fabulous show. Well-hosted on TV. I wish, however, that dogs were not introduced as "Akita, #123" but instead by the dog and handler's names. After all, everyone is congratulating James and not English Springer Spaniel #x!

The minute I saw James was there I knew he'd win! A longtime ESS fan and pet portrait painter would love to be in line to paint James' portrait! Congrats to all!

James IS beautiful, but I have to agree with above it would have been a whole lot more interesting if the Dandy Dinmont or the PBGV would have won. James sure looked tired on the Today show, happy but tired. And let's not forget to have a moment of silence for "Kirby", the champion of champions Papillon who passed away on Monday.

Hello Everyone!
I am writing this regarding a possible show our company is looking into producing about dog shows. We are looking for dedicated, lively owners and/or handlers that are interested in being on television and sharing their passion with America. We want to document the dog show process from an owner and/or handler's perspective as you prepare for the big day. If you are interested in speaking with us, please e-mail me at info@pinksneakers.net with Dog Show in the subject line.
Thanks and we look forward to speaking with you-

Doesn't anyone find it curious that all the same people win over and over? In the last say... 20 years Michelle won BIS twice, Peter3 times, Kelly twice... This is so polluted it stinks! How can anyone take pride in their wins when it is just politics! Look at the handlers in the groups and it goes further... BIS winner Bill McFadden won the Terrier group and won BIS a few years ago... Sometimes great dogs win, but other times they honor breeders or certain handlers. Can you really wrap your mind around the thought that only these handlers have great dogs? Come on!
