Welcome to Earley Times

Hello and welcome to my "blog." Maybe you found your way here because you know something about my past, or maybe you're here because you are looking for more information on my friend and client, Charlie Crews. In any case, there's a lot of information out on the web, and not all of it is true. So my idea is, go to the source: me. Although (and especially in light of the current financial crisis, which it isn't my intention to discuss here) many consider financial advisors somewhat "sharky," I am not "that guy." I believe my clients' interests should always come first. I can't promise I'll answer all of your questions about me (and as for Charlie, he has his own way of thinking about things), but at least when you check in here, you've got it from the horse's mouth.

Also: If you're looking for tips on how to invest your money, please, look elsewhere. Due to time constraints, I only handle one client now, and that information is, of course, private. Here's what you will find here: Me. My thoughts. My opinions. Maybe a recipe or two, once we get to know each other. And possibly details of my "rags to riches to Gap khakis" story. Right now, at the start, I'm going slow.

Now, some of you might be asking why I'd start a blog if I'm not going to talk about money or my client's money or my client. Since I parted ways with Aftercliffe, I'm semi-retired. I left L.A. society for four years, and during that period, I had a lot of time to reflect. I was never much of a writer. My ex-wife Deb wrote the letters and thank you cards and scrapbook captions. She took all the family photos, a job I never could have done because I could never remember my camera. Deb used to joke that if it had been up to me, we'd never have had any pictures of our girls. Since they've all gone back east to live, those pictures mean more and more every year.

The girls are almost grown now, and I'm guessing they have home pages, too. But I bet it isn't too "cool" to "friend" your dad. So maybe, girls, just a thought -- maybe if you come across this blog in your travels across the web, you'll drop an E-mail or leave word here. I'd love to hear from you -- and, of course, from anybody who might be checking in and reading this.
